I'm happy to have battled back for the second race in succession to get up the ladder a bit. I don't think we've ever had a race like we did last night that had so many spins and mess ups. Just shows never to pull a CBA!

Good race after a qualifying session of penalties leaving me lower on the order than I would expect.

The Senna Esse at the beginning was a bit mental. I managed to take advantage, though I spun twice on the same corner on different laps and ruined my chances after finding myself in 2nd early on. 

I'll leave full report of the night of racing to Greboth but thanks all, really enjoyed it.

 

Lago Maggiore GP circuit next week. I'll do the calendar for it this evening and update the league table too.

I like that there's competition at different levels.

The battle between you and Kiwi will feature all season, then myself, Mike and Lee, and with both of those two capable of the occasional challenge for first, I'll have my work cut out.

As for the rest, everyone is improving and capable of hitting a podium place so could be all different by race 12 😉

Apologies, not sure how I forgot to update last week.

 

Good race this week, although my pleas for restraint at the first chicane went unheeded and any car that gets pushed off track always heads like a bullet for my car, so nothing new there.

Though I'm happy driving back up to 4th place after that 🙂

 

@crispymorgan is getting much better and it took me a while to catch him and @slamminbones seems to be the gentleman driver whenever I pass him.

 

Fastest lap for @JBR-Kiwi this week and might have won the race if he had managed to undercut @Grebothon the very last corner.  Epic racing, looking forward to Greboth's review 🙂

 

I was temporarily last after @Teenwolf25  was shunted into me but managed to go straight up to 7th after a coming together of @LordBaguette and @GazzaGarratt

 

@Mikepjbell wasn't given the opportunity to do his usual wham bam thank you m'am on me this week and drove a very good consistent race, not far off the front two.

 

Well, we've now done race week 4 of the FGGTPSLT Cup.  Remember, it's best 9 results from 12 races so all still open for those who have missed weeks.

After reviewing the complete mess on turn one it was unavoidable I got shunted in to @Teenwolf25 which caused him to spin off and colliding with @phil bottle.

It’s all good @slamminbones it’s my own fault half the time for being too cautious into the first corner, people don’t expect it. I just feel bad for taking phil out. I’m just happy that when I watched my onboard replay I was braking and steering away from him the whole time rather than towards him and accelerating....

Ive got an old school mate that plays F1 and GT Sport so I’m trying to get him to join Tuesdays too.

It looks like that because I missed a race.

Remember its 9 best results from 12 races so Micky boy better not be getting too comfortable😁 Its a shame as I felt very fast at Autopolis 😢

Gutted you had problems @phil bottle. I felt better this week, or at least a little bit closer to sort of okay driving so it would've been good to race you. A bit disappointed on the strategy if i'm honest as one mistake made me think i should try something different, fully thinking everyone would pit. However Hard tyres just seem to be too durable on most tracks which allow for no stop strategies usually beating the stop strategies. Any thoughts on this as I love how strategy can change a race but now i'm thinking just to never pit in the race with hards.

 

Mandatory pit stop perhaps? or at least make fuel saving more of a burden?

 

On the points perspective, i'd need to break the top 2 to try and catch up on @Mikepjbell  and Phil. I really wish my race pace wasn't way off to what I am on a controller. Keep plugging away though, must persist with the learning!

Whilst I made it work by running long on super softs until lap 9 at Autopolis before switching to hards plus a quick splash of fuel, it did require me to pretty much run quali pace almost all the way through in order to build a 22sec lead over @Greboth in those laps, and I think when I left the pit I only had a 0.4 sec lead over him so the hard strategy was definitely the better one to use. 
 

I think potentially in the Gr4 class, hard tyres are not as much a penalty as in Gr3 so maybe like @GazzaGarratt says, maybe we make the lower class have a mandatory pit stop coupled with higher fuel usage/tyre wear?

Whether by design or accident, I think the strategies were pretty balanced.  I only made a couple small mistakes of missing a couple of apex’s so nothing major and we were about even.

 

Though happy to go either way.  The easiest would be fuel as if you have to make a stop for fue why wouldn’t you also change tyres.

This Tuesday its Fuji (alternative track) at Gr.2.

A quick bit of testing and it's around 1:28 seconds a lap.

Will probably do a 15 lap race and set tyres so that SS last 6 laps and fuel 10 laps.
