I used to love gaming mags, all the was back to Zzap 64 for Commodore 64.
 
....and then the early days of game sites on the internet were really usefult, sadly they're all just adverts and spam now but still posing as gaming sites 😭

I sign up to Readly every now and again which I believe Martin has just discovered, on there is Retro gamer which I find quite a good magazine talking about older games, thought I might post in here every now and again about what they are talking about each month.
 
So this month is about Ridge Racer, sadly the series isn't really around today but I do have fond memories of playing Ridge Racer Type 4 way back. I am not so into racing games now other than playing with friends.
 
So they also explore how the series came about which began with Mazda (their tech demos over in Japan) and this developed into the video games, they were somewhat ahead of their time when they first launched in terms of graphics and such.

At last! Sony finally have a game to show off the PS5 Pro with instead of recycling 4 year old titles.

Delayed until 2025 and will appear on Steam right from the off. Another nail in the coffin to Ubisoft who are having a miserable time of it and are probably in their bleakest ever period. They looked untouchable once but regurgitating the same old games with the same old gameplay in the laziest way possible has really come back to bite them. Even die hard AC fans have really turned on them of late and the amount of cancelled projects is insane. Also wasted so much time on big projects that got culled.  Assassin's Creed Shadows has had so much controversy and embarrassing moments, it's probably best they push it back to let the dust settle as well as fix all the shoddiness.

Never been so disappointed in a game before, at least not for a long time!
I am stuck on a boss type listed as Character, and from what I can gather the lesser of the 3 types of bosses in this game.  And this boss was the first enemy after I killed a boss, and found a shrine. Roughly 100 yards apart 🙄
 
Thought it was 81 bosses one time, but read that all bosses and minibosses its 113.
Well, I am fed up already. You can farm for sparks to level up with, but with 2 to 3 levels an hour you are in for a long haul!
 
This feels like 65 bucks wasted.

Grabbed the trilogy yesterday on GOG but not sure when I'll be able to start RE2. Can't wait to play that though! 

Went to see Alien Romulus at the cinema today. Thought it was excellent! Scared the shit out of my girlfriend though who ended the film literally weeping. Perhaps I’ll take her to something more lighthearted next time.

Saw a few good things about this and got around to picking it up yesterday evening, excellent little game 🙂

It's finishing games I have trouble with. If its a really good game I don't want it to end. I'll happily do side quests and ignore the main mission. Prime example is Fallout 4. Between console and PC I have 300+ hours and still nowhere near progressing the main story.
