  1. A huge congratulations to @GazzaGarratt and Coundon Court this week! "Not only Club Development Club of the Year....but we're ALSO BCFA GRASSROOTS CLUB OF THE FUCKING YEAR!!!!!!!!!!❤️🖤" (Lee's words not mine 🤣) This man works his arse off day in and day out on all fronts and deserves every bit of good that comes his way! Congratulations Lee! You deserve it! Also a big shout out to @Findmartin who ran his first kids training sessions for comets last night, Comets is set up associated with Coundon Court that helps teach kids with disabilities how to play football, both lee and martin have had a huge role in helping comets get where it is today, however Martin ran his first session last night and it went incredibly well! Congratulations dude 💪❤️

Bought this last night, already level 14. Literally played it all day today. This is the best game I've played in ages, and is the Destiny replacement I've been wanting for months or even years. I even cancelled my WoW sub. The maps are absolutely superb, lots of good colours, nice and rich with terrain and fauna, and a very busy atmosphere, unlike some games which just go on for miles and miles and there's no action. This game will have you in the thick of it within seconds of loading in. The controls are slick, my only gripe is that there's no auto reloading (that I know of) and on a few occasions I've been in the middle of a fight and I press reload, only to open a door / use a zipline / whatever. Not a game breaker by any means, but when you're in the middle of a tense fight and it gets you killed, it can be quite frustrating. The PvE dudes are excellent. The difficulty is spot on. Not too hard to kill, but they will overwhelm you if you don't stay on top of them. At first some of the huge dudes can be very intimidating, but once you figure them out and play tactically, they're not too hard. That said, you can't just load in and take them on, you need to come prepared. They require specific weapons and will soak up tons of ammo so play with intent. The range of baddies is excellent too. From little rolly polly bastards that set you on fire to massive stomping spiders about 20 stories tall and everything inbetween. A genuine variety and they all suit their appearance in terms of combat. No silly bullet sponges a la the Division. The looting is good too, if slightly cumbersome. It can take a few seconds to loot stuff which is both great for slowing things down a bit, but it sucks in combat. I've already used a few skill points to speed it up a bit which helps. The crafting, looting, economy, all very good too. The inventory is rather limited so you have to be quite ruthless which I really like. The game isn't designed around who has the best guns or most loot, I've killed some massive spider things (leapers) with the most basic marksman rifle. I suspect it'll go quicker with the fancy stuff, but I managed it fine. Everything is achievable with the lowest level stuff, but crafting/buying/unlocking the heavier kit just makes it easier and quicker. There's no gatekeeping here, only more efficiency. The PvP element is one of the best things in this game. There's so much going on that every encounter feels slightly tense, but nothing like DayZ. Lose all your shit and you're back in in seconds with a default class (which is all random kit so you get to try out everything, really nice touch) collecting stuff to make better kit. Normally with games like this I's suffer tremendously from gear fear, but I've lost some pretty good kit and just shrugged it off, as I can reacquire it quite easily. That said, collecting loads of mats and then using them to build an absolute baller loadout is extremely satisfying. I love going hunting for the bigger stuff like this. Most of the players are friendly and will help each other out, but as with any game of this nature you always come across the true PVPers. I was busy with a quest earlier and this dude was camping a beacon thingy. I clocked him from a while back as the robots were quite intense around that building and quite a bit of commotion was taking place. I snuck up on him and he stuck a shotgun up my arse. So I loaded in with a default class, snuck up on him and killed him. Then completed my quest, extracted, loaded in again and killed him again. I did this four times and on the last occasion he turned on his mic and it was some teeny little Spanish kid crying. Fuck you. Bitch. Left him alone after that. I think the thing I love the most about this game is the complete lack of direction. Wanna load in with a default class and just go loot shit for loads of xp and materials? Have at it. Wanna build a monster class and go hunting huge robots? That'll do too. Wanna load in with 100 bandages and play a medic? Crack on. You get the idea. Don't get me wrong, there are a few little niggles but on the whole this is the game I've been waiting a very long time for. Can't wait to play it again tomorrow. This is exactly what I needed for the dark winter evenings.

I've snagged some old "not good enough for Windows 11" PCs from where I work part time and I'm now running a Minecraft server for me and my 6 year old grandson . It's great but there are times when I feel like changing my name from "Grandad?" 😂😂😂 The PC he's using is the one you guys got me in 2019 (that day was epic!) so that's been repurposed as well, just needed a wifi card 😊

New trailer showing a lot more stuff and some they have already shown too. Looks like there will be boss battles and also settlements. I got about 10 hours in the demo so far, no more quests to do but I can still sail around and sink ships or build my own little settlement further. Building in this game is smooth as hell btw, when placing foundations, walls or roofs you can just keep holding the mouse button down and drag it to build multiple of what you want as long as you have the materials, and any resources inside chests within your landclaim is automatically used.

I reached level 20 last night with 50 successful extractions. I have my gear and gunsmith bench at level 2 plus scrappy at 3. I did a fair few quests yesterday and manged to unlock some achievements including returning to Speranza when downed after I got into a firefight at the exit whilst it was opening, downed the culprit, then got downed by an ARC and we both ended up crawling hilariously to the lift! Also flying through live event earning merits plus unlocking Raider decks with the credits. There's always plenty to do and work towards. Today I will do the daily challenges plus I need to broaden my horizons and try and discover new loot required for some of the level 2 benches. I'll probably need to increase my stash to beyond 200 because it is piling up and a lot of stuff, even the basics, you may still require down the line for things like upgrading weapons or simple attachments.

Went on with @Diddums Friday night and was amazed at his patience! 😃 I'm enjoying it so far but have stuck to the Dam map mostly. Only been killed by another player once so far. As those of you who know me well I have died more than once ! 🤣 Main strategy so far has been to expand the stash as much as possible, unlock all the work benches. It's a beautiful game to play, AAA at a bargain price and reminds me of Destiny in many ways... daily quests, scavenging, equipment upgrades, etc. It'll be interesting to see how many FG players will use the wipe option. I see Shroud is playing and topping the leaderboard but also discovering some sad news..... I'll be getting on this when real life lets me. Thanks again @Diddums ... he's your man for a dog collar for your chicken!! 🤣

  11. Well, its international break again and good time to take stock. Prem wise not sure how Sunderland have managed it, but they keep on flying high. Home form is so crucial and its a very intimidating place to go. So many teams having a stutter. Man City a small resurgence, Liverpool free falling. For once it does keep it very interesting week to week for sure. Can't see Wolves or Burnley staying up currently. Not enough in their teams for me. I'm loving watching Moyes take Everton up the table though. Decent team, some good English talent in them. I hope they make Europe. Championship...ahh, well i'm trying hard not to think about it. Blackburn are in a sorry state, on and off the pitch. I don't know how the next few years will go tbh. I was probably hoping we could somehow be forgotten and sneak up the table. You never know as its far too early. Frank Lampard's Coventry City (IYKYK 😉) have been excellent upfront. Unless they start to bottle it, they should be now clear favourites...although their defence really haven't been tested and are pretty poor back there. I fancy Middlesborough still. Losing a Manager and still winning, thats tremendous value for money. A very good squad too. I think everyone else maybe in false positions. Lots of teams aren't performing well but have gathered points. I still wouldn't have put Sheff Utd, Southampton and a few other big names down the bottom though. Maybe Sheff Weds could pull off the unthinkable and stay up?

I grabbed this and have really enjoyed it so far. Really refined game that looks great and runs incredibly well. I've done just under 5 hours so far with 7 successful extractions in 8 attempts. I've only killed one human so far and have mostly just been focused on obtaining essential loot and doing a few quests. Unlocked the second location this evening and am currently level 6. The action can be really tense at times but the most scariest thing about this game is the tumbleweed🤣

  21. I can't believe how bad YouTube has gotten of late - literally advert spam is insane and they are even worming their way into Premium which is a kick in the teeth to paying customers. I was watching an 8 minute video earlier and was presented with a 30 second advert, I then skipped about a minute of the video and was presented with the same advert which was unskippable once more. Not even halfway through and a 59 second video then popped up and to finish off, I was awarded the same 30 second advert I've already seen twice with about 40 seconds left of the video. So that was about two and a half minutes of adverts on an 8 minute video in which one was repeated 3 times! Also checked out a System Shock 2 Remastered video which was from a stream and 3 hours 31 minutes long - there was about 40 advert slots in that alone. Assuming the majority are a minute and unskippable, that's almost half hour of adverts in a severely broken up video where if you wanted to quick-skip, you'll probably land on a one minute advert 6 clicks out of 7. You could sometimes bypass really annoying adverts by refreshing but now I seem to keep seeing the same ones over and over and maybe after 15 refreshes then I get lucky and hit a 5 second advert which can be skipped but even after all that, I've saved myself about 10 seconds. It's just turned into extreme greed and done in the most laziest way imaginable. Seeing the same Primark/Bellingham adverts 15 times in 20 minutes watching videos is becoming torturous and they are planting so many in long-form videos now that it's making some unwatchable.

  28. The gulf between the Championship and Premier League is ridiculous and it's getting wider all the time. I think Ipswich have a good squad but I don't think any team in the league this year would be good enough for the Premier League, not even Coventry. Ipswich last night created some decent chances and looked dangerous but just lacked anything clinical in the final third - partly down to our keeper having a great game and perhaps being burned out after Hull away on the Tuesday and some crazy away fixtures in succession. I can definitely see you lot challenging for promotion and securing a playoff place but the days teams can do a Bournemouth or Brentford and maintain a Prem place are long gone.

Tagging @GazzaGarratt as I want to talk about how people are playing this. Lee frustrated the hell out of me last night being completely unaware of his surroundings and going for loot first which in one round led to us being shot at by other players & me getting stamped on by a leaper. I very much play this game cautiously, being fully aware of what is going on in and around where I am exploring first and then I will try to find what I jumped into a game for whatever item or quest that may be. I am almost always turning my camera looking in the sky, listening out for the machines as what can being as one machine catching you out can very quickly due to the noise of combat draw in others and result in you being quickly overrun. To me that is great as the danger is there and every encounter can quickly go South. My frustration with you Lee last night was that you were busy looting when @LordBaguette had just said a couple of times that he was being shot at by raiders, at that point for me it turns the game from a looter into a survival PvP game. That flicks a switch in my head and suddenly you should be playing the game differently and on trios you need your squad otherwise you quickly get overrun but I have a vivid image of you being quite exposed, looting a vehicle with your back to the direction the gunfire was coming from. There is no point picking up loot to be shot in the back because you won't then be extracting with it anyway! I think what it taught me last night is that even when you are part of a squad, don't expect your squad to have your back and going forwards if there are enemies I will be getting into cover or getting out of there and potentially leaving Lee with all his loot to fend for himself. 😄 And we won't get into the fact we had a bombarder right next to us at the church destroying everyone, Lee decides to ignore it and climb up the church anyway to complete his objective not really knowing what he was doing or looking for and Tom decided to attack & kill one of the raiders who were being friendly and fighting it. Only for a few minutes later for said raider to kill him whilst he was reviving Lee who had fallen from the church because he was too fekkin impatient to wait for us to deal with the bombarder first!

  30. Ok so I've hit level 20, been playing every night since I bought it on Saturday. This game is basically e-crack. Anyway, I've learned quite a bit, some of it isn't in any of the millions of Youtube videos and I had to figure it out myself so I'll drop those pearls of wisdom all over bones' mum the thread. Firstly, and this is imo one of the three biggest things to know about this game, is that you can drop in for any reason you want. Sometimes I'll just grab a free loadout, hoarde as much shit as I can and then extract. This is howI strongly suggest everyone start, as picking fights WILL lead to some of the most hilarious, devastating and embarrassing deaths. These robots are out to kill, and kill you they will. For your first hour or two, the free loadout will be your friend. You have nothing to lose so can go balls-to-the-wall with it, and if you die, nothing lost. Secondly is the attitude towards loot. Loot is everywhere in this game. Find a building? Full of loot. Find a car? Could have loot. Kill a robot? Full of loot. Kill a dude? Full of loot. It's everywhere, and habit says that you need to hoarde as much as you can. Whilst this is good when you're running low on resources, you can also end up collecting a load of shit which isn't useful at that point in time. You'll also suffer from "gear fear", ie. dropping in and then getting killed, losing all your shit in the process. This hurts the first few times, but once you adjust your mentatlity to realise that you can hustle up most of that stuff again in a few rounds with a free loadout and it's all gravy. Don't be too precious about loot, you're gonna lose it anyway. Thirdly is the unlocks and upgrades. Stuff like workbench upgrades, Scrappy upgrades, skills, etc are all permanent. These are your focus, the gear and loot is merely a way of getting there. Fourth is don't pick fights randomly. These robots are absolutely ruthless and WILL fuck you up if you're caught off guard or aggro then when you're not prepared. Even the tiny ones can be a pain in the ass and many will also call for backup, so make sure you're prepared before engaging. Rule no. 1 is never, ever engage out in the open, as they'll retaliate and your peace will be shattered in to a small little skirmish of death. Make sure you've got cover, make sure you've cleared out the room you're using as cover, and be aware of your surroundings. I've got shitloads more but I'll leave it at this for now. There are also tons of third party resources which help a ton, I'll link to them later. Get on this game. It's bloody good and bloody entertaining. Often hilarious.

  31. Cheers @Diddums. Last night was first full night on it and I'm finally getting it all. The playloop is great, just the UI doesn't initially help you in that fact. I'd say one of the biggest things it doesn't tell you to do but to help you on your journey is to 'Track Resources' for all bench installs and level up upgrades. Its like extra mini objectives alongside the main quests the game gives you. Helps you then focus on specific loot rather than it all because there is absolutely shed loads the game gives you and you can feel like you are full within a minute of spawning in. Its good to be in a group and share what things that people may need so we're all looking for 5-6 things on each run and we can share and help each other with whatever we all find. I love that bit about it all, way more objectives then and definitely better feeling than the 'I'm helping' meme in your head.

For now though I have just been pottering about doing my missions and picking up anything not nailed down! It looks great and the maps are good. Battlefield 6

It's definitely a good game for Call of Duty players and ones that didn't play Battlefield in its golden era. Another small, linear urban map released today which means we've literally played half the original maps available in the final game and we are yet to actually see a true battlefield. I will probably pick this up for the campaign and because I can still get 20-30 hours out of the multiplayer but I honestly can see myself getting bored as Conquest plays more like domination and matches just blur into one. I went back to Battlefield 4 last year and it was just breathtaking how spectacular everything is even to this day. The map variety, quality and mechanics made for one hell of an experience that has never been repeated, not even in Battlefield since. I'm hopeful this game can get close to those glory days and it has come a long way after the travesty of 2042 but if they end up losing 80% of their players to Call of Duty a month later then a lot of their design choices will have been in vain at the expense of loyal fans.

I've had this one on my backlog for a while now, and I have no idea why I haven't played it before now, because DAMN Okay, so its a Zombie apocalypse/ City Builder type game. It takes Google Maps data to create your play area..... I started a map, with my house as the HQ, and it has been amazing so far. You can create any location in the world. The game uses the map data to sort out how difficult of a time you will have. Cities obviously are the worst locations. The maps are not perfect, in that it assumes the sizes of the houses based off of google footprint. So in my case it has my house slightly smaller than it actually is, because the google map image isn't current. (See the screenshots below) You can dismantle houses for resources, and you find settlers all over the place. There is a story, that I won't spoil because I think I am about a third of the way through it, I could be wrong there though. I am way to busy farming resources to build a fortress to worry about other survivors in DC and Baltimore. Two gripes people have about the game: Zombies can cross any body of water, so can your squads. The Dev's did this for pathing reasons, as the game is still in Early Access, and I guess trying to differentiate water on a google map is hard when importing data. IDK, it doesn't' phase me, I just build more walls Radio transmissions are frequent, and can't be ignored. You have to choose an option, but luckily it does pause the game for you. That being said if you don't choose an option quickly the npc's will get grumpy. So the screenshots I am attaching are of my play area. The "Star" is my house, the HQ, the rest are shelters, and warehouses I am setting up, along with some build orders, etc. I zoomed really far out for these so you could see the street names and more of the play area.

For some reason, I remember back in the day when I got hold of a copy of Ridge Racer 4, I was excited more than normal. For an arcade game, back then it felt like it was hitting a new era, and the opening sequence with the graphics back then I recall blew my mind. I loved the song and everything about it. Enjoy and looking forward to seeing what else others can find and share!

The Data Spike minigame is the worst, the Coolant for your blaster is close though. Kay randomly jumps on to every surface she can when I am playing. Which makes it being a cover shooter sort of tricky. The speeder driving is garbage. I am going to give it another go here today, but I am going to dig into the Accessibility options to see if there is something there that's turned on that shouldn't be for all this crap.

I've had time for 3 proper raids so far, 2 of which I successfully extracted. The game is done really well, I'm not usually a fan of 3rd person but here, like the Division games, it feels very smooth. Sound is excellent, guns feel good to use, there's a good tutorial and there's a skill system that's pretty straightforward. I'm busy today until the evening but if the playtest is still live tonight I'll definitely be jumping on again.
