Tarkov and being busy in general have conspired to keep me away from this game. But I have done about half the campaign and it's the best one in years for me.

  7. In your case since you use the whole ecosystem of apple with all its amenities etc android isn't better and won't be for a while if ever, googles software offerings aren't as much a complete package as apples partly because android isn't a monopoly in hardware like apple is and so every company tries and fails to make its own ecosystem but for me that ecosystem and the "walled garden" with the apple knows the best mindset in everything is a prison, so even if I was a millionaire I wouldn't buy an apple phone, even in my android I barely use googles or in my case samsungs software because I don't want to be locked in any ecosystem, the best thing imo with android is that it's not that locked down, you can flash a custom rom if you don't want the stock one, or choose to use programs from other stores like fdroid for example which hosts open source programs with no ads, tracking etc the customizability also is unmatched imo, you can replace the stock launcher and make it look however you want and people can make some impressive looking ones and lastly it's the price where the difference is huge outside the newest, top model of any company, if I can find a phone that does 80-90% of what the latest galaxy or iphone does while paying not even a fifth of what they cost why not choose that? I have the samsung galaxy a50 right now which is the most expensive phone I ever bought at 250. I bought it when it came out 5 years ago and it's still perfect and don't plan to change it anytime soon, so what more can the top of the line galaxy or iphone of the time offer me beyond the better camera?

  8. I have been enjoying my work the past few days and realised pretty quick it's because of the work that I am doing currently. My job is incredibly varied at the moment which is great but I find some aspects are tedious, some things I just don't like doing (dealing with people, managing the design process, design meetings etc etc) but I am currently doing some 3d modelling. Probably my favourite part of my job and it comes quite naturally to me, it is also an aspect of my job that no one else in the company can do very well so I probably take a little bit more pride in it due to that fact. So what is the best thing about your job? (This is a query about your role rather than your pay, bonuses etc)

  11. I have to say - I’m really happy with the games this month 🤣 I’ve never played It Takes Two and heard it’s amazing so I’m happy with that! I’ve had my eye on Aliens: Dark Descent for a while now and was waiting for a really good sale, this is even better! So I’m really excited to try this one out! TemTem I will try, Palworld was a fun Pokemon like game and hopefully this one will be too. So yeah, might not be the best for most people but I’m pretty happy!

  15. Most games we've lost we've actually dominated but just not had our shooting boots on. Arsenal had to park the bus for example. We leak too many goals and allow too many chances/shots. And a yo yo team is one that bounces up and down between leagues, like Norwich, if I have my pedantic hat on 🤪

  16. Just finished this game at 130 hours. @TurboR56Mini mentioned I should post.. even though I have been silent for a good while lol. Here's the thing, I loved BioWare.. Dragon Age Origins was a breath of fresh air to me. My enjoyment of the Dragon Age series is what got me to pick up Mass Effect. These two franchises are near and dear to my heart. So, the hate that Veilguard gets based on trailers? I get it. It's not what any of us expected or wanted... and it just further shows how much EA continues to destroy game studios. EA is why we got the failures of Anthem and Andromeda. Veilguard being in production for 10 years? That's EA written all over it. The game got rebooted numerous times. That said, what was released? Is it good? It is. Is it the same caliber of DAO or DAI? Absolutely not. Remember the nonsense of DA2? Veilguard is probably what DA2 would have been if DA2 wasn't rushed. The gameplay is enjoyable (minus the annoyance/QOL issue with respeccing your character outside a boss fight/needing to reload a save to do it). The story is decent. Can the final act make up for the rest of the Veilguard story? Maybe? Depends on how you look at it. I took this as a farewell to Dragon Age. It wraps up so many story threads. I applaud the writers for keeping such major parts of the lore under wraps for so long. I would say, just play it to finish Solas's character arc. The secret ending is an opening to more Dragon Age... if EA allows BioWare to do what they do best... and not meddle in what they do. If you don't get the secret ending, no harm. Treat this game as what it probably was intended to be --> a farewell to the world that BioWare started with DAO. The graphics are a bit cartoony.. but don't let it deter you. I had to remind myself that the reason why I never picked up DAO when it was released was because of the terrible graphics, but I ended up enjoying it. Get past the graphics... get into the story. The elves look odd. The Qunari look too nice. But everything else seems to mostly work. The writing isn't the quality we expect from BioWare in their golden age. The voice actors do the best they can. I think if they didn't need to keep scrapping the game and starting over because EA would dictate demands, this wouldn't be an issue. The ending was fleshed out long ago, hence the final act being the quality we expected and worth it. For those who somehow are pissed about it having a non-binary character and saying "go woke, go broke" about this game... if this bothers you, then you weren't paying attention to everything else going on in Thedas... or fantasy... or comic books. DA has always had diverse characters. And, DA has always had political and social commentary (so has Marvel and DC and Star Trek and Star Wars and numerous other things we all enjoy). Bottom line for this game: It's good. Is it GOTY good? Absolutely not. But, it's good. I agree with @Luseth that this is probably a 7.5 out of 10. I will probably replay it to get other interesting tidbits about the lore based on Rook's character and choices... and even the Inquisitor choices.

  17. Sentry turrets, wheelson thing (AGV?) and rc cars count for the HE-1 as well! The UAVs are easier than CUAV as they are closer and not as far away. Maps like Payback, Nuketown they seem easier to hit. Rewind and Vorkuta etc seems almost impossible, the distance is hard to judge. Got a couple more guns gold lately. So far I have: ARs: XM4, AK47 SMGs: KSV LMGs: XMG Launchers: Cigma, HE-1 (Diamond)

  22. Red Card is a 50/50 map for me. Inside and the stadium side is great, really enjoy every battle those sides. Outside the front it is just way too open and not enjoyable. For most objective games it works well as not much is out in the open. New Extraction makes it feel sweaty to play as some hardpoints are just wide open from lots of angles. No.3 on the Helipad is horrid. You can also get spawn captured at the sea end.

  23. So, I have spent some time with this game now. I am definately on the side of it being a half decent game. I am not going into the is it or is it not a failure conversation again, just givnig you guys a brief run through of my thoughts - Visually it is quite a stunning game in places, I have put some early in game screenshots into the screenshots thread. The art style of the characters isn't quite my cup of tea and the Qunari characters you meet are a bit odd. There are also some on the other 'team' that look more how you would expect them to if you are a fan of the series. - The story & writing, it starts off medicore however the past couple of hours I have been playing and where I hit what I imagine is the halfway point it is getting much better. The characters are really quite good and engaging and I really like most of the companions. - Combat is not what I have enjoyed with past Dragon age games however it is quite fun and engaging. Quite fast paced but some of the bosses can be quite the challenge compared to the normal mobs. Creatures that were considered tough in previous games are somewhat weak here but that is because the big bads are at a level above. It is a combat system very much geared towards a wider audience. - The world building is quite good and there are moments where characters speak lines and such reminscent of old school dragon age. And some of the places you visit are brilliant, I think Treviso is fantastic running through the rooftops. General thought, the start of the game is not the strongest, it improves as it goes on but that is never a good thing with any game as it can often result in you losing players before the game really gets going. Only one decision so far seem's to have impacted things, generally your conversation decisions don't make much difference other than altering the opions your companions have of you, it is reminisicent of the Mass Effect games so I wonder if their opinion of you dictates if they live or die at the end of the game or something. Last night I was actually nodding off on the sofa as I was knackered yesterday but putting on the game and furthering the story at this one point I am at suddenly woke me right up. I won't go too much into it in case anyone here does play it but there is a section of the story where you are involved in a siege of a castle (won't say which side you are on) but it genuinely felt like one. It reminded me a bit of when I first player the lord of the rings two towers was it where you are fighting on top of the castle walls. It was brilliant and then fighting your way through to the boss of this area was great, with everything going on at the same time it led to a feeling of urgency, to get to where you are going before the place was overwhelmed (I am not sure that's even programmed into it but it felt like it). For me it's probably a 7.5 / 10, so not a bad game but not quite reaching the heights I had hoped it would but that's more because of what I have historically enjoyed from the series and really the series is moving away from that in the same way Final Fantasy has done from it's origins in recent years.

  24. I met Dane after the West Brom game and he seems a top bloke. Scored a crucial last minute equaliser! He's had a few loans here and there and really struggled to get going, but with us I think he'll really kick on and his goals against Derby and Swansea were also good finishes. He did well against Tuesday against Hull and started over Mark Harris once again but we have about 5 key midfielders out injured right now including Brannagan, Matty Phillips, Placheta, Dembele and Edwards so service is more limited than we hoped but he's really getting stuck in and making things happen. Hopefully he wont get recalled and will get to finish the season here.

  25. I'm kind of inclined to follow non Spurs teams if one our youth players is getting a run out. I see Dane Scarlett is finally getting a run out at Oxford Utd so I'll be hoping he helps them hang on in the Championship. We have a few others in other teams but I've been watching Dane a while now and he needs to step up. Couple of recent goals should help...

  26. In a time where phones are all the same, it doesn't matter. If you insist on super user level control then sure, have at it. It's splitting hairs this day and age. If you need it it's just as easy to jailbreak an iphone as it is to install a root kit on an Android.

  27. I use an iPhone for personal and an Android for work and it really boils down to what you are used to in terms of the interface and if you use Google applications as a primary i.e gmail. If you don't want to have a phone contract and don't wish to pay £700-1300 for a new iPhone either, then Android at is worth exploring as you can get very good brand new phones in the region of just a couple hundred quid whereas a 5 year old refurbished iPhone will still cost that on eBay. Personally I prefer iPhone because it's what I've used since 2007 and I am used of the interface and functionality more. Android is still great as it covers a multitude of devices of varying quality and costs but I'm not a fan of a lot of Google shit as it's just needlessly convoluted most of the time. Anything Apple is a total rip-off though but if you can get a good value contract for a device worth supposedly 4-figures then that is probably more appealing than a cheaper Android.

  28. So I've golded 6 AR's with 1 to go for Diamond! GPR and it's easily the worst one to do.....my god it's like slapping your dick on someone's forehead. Already folded 2 SMG's, Tanto and C9 and 1 LMG which I think is the XMG, close with the default LMG. (PU...) Yeah loving the grind on this, really entertaining, just about to hit prestige 5. 35. Great post @RenFengge I am getting close to what I think is the point of no return so beginning to turn party members into Hero's of the Veilguard and closing out their character stories. I think some of them are pretty fun i.e. I have enjoyed the necromancer's story and ending, Harding's was interesting as it gave a bit of back story to the titans. But generally agree with most of what you have said. It isn't Bioware of yesterday by any means but it's not a bad game. I am hoping to try and get the platinum trophy and if this is the last dragon age game I wouldn't be too hurt as it is on a downwards trend but yeah it is a shame considering the heights of where it all started and fortunately there have been games in recent years such as Baldurs Gate and Divinity that have taken up the mantle.

  36. So just been looking at portable stereos as I could do with something that could do everything i.e. bluetooth but also DAB and being able to play my cd's which I still enjoy time to time. This got me thinking about technology that I enjoy or use that seems to have been around for ages and it also got me reading articles online about how tape cassette's are on an upwards trend (even today I can't see what the fascination would be with them). But it made me think, in my car I still have a small ipod that get's used every now and again with songs from my younger years, everything being streamed from your phone today it is probably outdated tech but tech that is still pretty useful in today's world i.e. not draining my phone battery in the car playing music on longer journeys and such. I have also seen the Polaroid cameras recently, they seem to be sold everywhere again (the one's where you print out instant photos). So is there any tech that you still have lying around in use which might be considered outdated or any tech you would like to see make a bif of a comeback?

Unlocks 4pm tomorrow (Wednesday) UK time. I've heard from early receivers it runs well. I've booked the rest of the week off work lol so I hope no issues... I have it pre-installed on Xbox, it's doing an update right now as it happens. But I also have it on Steam, which is where I'll play it properly.

  40. This is the real issue with PS5 accessories. They are flimsy as anything. And the most hilarious thing about it? Get the PS5 Edge controller, which is awesome btw....until you get stick drift in that one. "Never fear, you can change the items easier for just £20!" No. No you can't. Because the interchangeable controller never has ANY REPLACEABLE ITEMS IN STOCK. Why then go on eBay to buy ONE stick for £40-60....when you can then just buy a new PS5 standard controller for around the same price?! Absolutely mental.

Crazy to think that Harry Kane has competed in the Premiser League, German Bundesleige, German Cup, FA Cup, League Cup, World Cup, European Cup, Champions League and Europa League yet his first career success is getting England promoted in the Nations League - not that even counts🤣 I think he has possibly two more tournaments in him at international level.

  44. Going second is better. TCG Pocket tried to change the opening mechanic to "Whoever goes first cannot play a supporter card" to "Whoever goes first cannot play an energy." Could be tweaked in the future since this is a PTCGP specific mechanic. Top deck right now is Pikachu ex, with MewTwo ex right behind it and if you like gambling, Artiuno/Starmie ex. New set releases in January, with a new promo set in December. Ranked mode will be released in the future. My Friend ID is 8062-8245-8978-6511 .
