So i've just just been chatting with a colleague about the games consoles we've owned throughout our lives and got me thinking what's everyones personal gaming console history. Mine is:

PSP (still got as i got it in Japan and can't trade it in 😂)

@RenFengge Damn!!! Thats a hell of a list!! I'm impressed at your commitment to get a ps3 with a broken freakin' foot too! I definitely seemed to have missed out on the Nintendo and Sega side of things lol

Here's the thing... I was told to stay off my foot and work from home for at least 2 weeks.

 

There was no way I was gonna just watch TV lol. So, I was looking specifically for the backwards compatible version. The last 2 available, which was the MSG edition, was about 50+ miles away. Hence the drive hahaha.

 

Nintendo has some fantastic cult classic games that are almost infinitely replayable... this is why I will probably always have one. Just for those one or two games haha.

 

There's always the Switch if you want to get into it!

I have been tempted by the switch but affording it is the issue now lol

Totally understand. I originally wanted it because of our work commute. So, that's about an hour each way. There's only so much Sudoku I could play on the train lol.

 

Plus, I wanted to play Zelda and a few others.

 

I was weighing my options of "how many days of train snacks do I not have to buy to get one?" Then, @TurboR56Mini  surprised me with it. 😄

😂 thats awesome, bet you were chuffed with it. Ive played mario party on it with a friend and loved it!! And i can totally get that, train commutes are the worst!!!

Super thread @Antpool84 ! Whilst i know some have this in their PPRs its always good to see interest in console history to bring them to life again!

 

I always consider my Sega Mega Drive was my first console although arguably my first gaming thing was when I won a Nintendo Gameboy at my primary school raffle. As I got older, I picked up a couple of consoles that I didn't get chance to own when they first came out and we used to have them all in my living room with a bunch of TVs so me and my friends growing up could play through lots of games at the same time. Magical moments.

 

Heres my list in the order I got them (as best I can remember anyway):

So between my brother and friends it fills the gaps I didn't have.

I got to play most consoles to some extend minus the older ones like Spectrum, Amstrad, Jaguar, Atari etc

To be honest not really. Happy with my PC and got loads of other shit to pay for with the house and stuff. Will probably look again around Xmas or next year.

I think this stuff comes in waves. Theres always games to play but once i find something, I'll sit on eBay and whatnot to try and find the console and some of the games for it. Plus, you kind of need the right space for them so you know you can make best use of them. I really want to get a 3DO and also a Wii U at some stage. Nothing beats physical games/cartridges and using old wired controllers 😎
