I really love this place. Like REALLY love it. And you lot. You're annoying, frustrating and absolutely hilarious at the best/worst of times. Our little home on the world wide webz is something to be proud of and shout about more in my eyes. We're far from perfect but I'd love more to know how awesome this place, and you guys and girls are. Here's to the next 10 years. Cheers for sticking around and getting involved and being a family for life. ❤️5 points -
Thread bump and something different from me. I’ve been doing some sketching recently and fancied getting back in to more traditional media so broke out the alcohol markers for the first time in at least 15 years (God! I feel old now 😞) A few issues and problems with the drawing both in colour, lighting and technique but nice to have something real for a change than pixels on a screen.4 points

I noticed this one was in early access with the purchase of the base bundle. It looks like an action/hack-and-slash RPG with a WoW or Darksiders look to it. It's received a lot of negative reviews due to some server issues and all that fun usually associated with MMOs. I may end up checking it out. @Rumelylady even wants to give it a go.2 points -

Starfield
Riff Machine and one other reacted to Bluebear for a topic
I've been told off for my lack of Starfield discussion, sorry daddy Garratt 😔😂 @TurboR56Mini @phil bottle No review yet because I honestly feel like I've not played the game enough at... *looks at Steam* nigh on 70 hours! As always with a BSG game, the UI on PC is absolutely gash, but there's been mods coming out to fix the massive inventory items taking up all the screen space etc already. On the whole, I'm enjoying it! I had always tempered my expectations with regards to the 'space' part of the game, knowing that it was still running on Creation engine, and it's pretty much what I expected (you load into a 'cell' in orbit, and fast travel into a different planet's orbit 'cell' if you go to another planet etc). There have been some people playing around and it does look like that the cells on the planets are linked together at least, but from all accounts it's literally a cell per PIXEL of the planets surface and the game does not like it when you start going past boundaries, probably floating point errors the further you get away from the centre of that starting cell. Not played too much of the main story, but the sidemissions are very good in terms of writing/quality. Having fun with some of the individual location ones but have also just started the Rangers storyline, so I'll report back with wot I think later. I've actually been genuinely interested in finding out about companion's backstories (just the people at Constellation so far from what I can tell), which is rare in a Bethsoft game! They're not just pack mules after all (Well they are, because inventory management is awful in this game at the moment but I digress). As Karl said, the outpost building is bloody annoying. I've been absolutely raging at not bring able to place smaller items on the right rotation that I want (apparently there's an option to turn down the speed in menus @TurboR56Mini!). And then we get to stuff like the storage containers that are massive, only being able to store 75 units worth of material. Bizarre. Also those like to snap to everything but where you're trying to put them. The way the transfer of items between outposts works is a bit opaque at the moment too, I need to have an experiment with those but I keep running out of storage space for materials because building in your base only considers resources in your personal inventory OR in the big storage containers. Ship inventory or anything in small storage chests etc do not count, which is bloody annoying when you had to dump everything into them only to find the titanium that you needed to build more containers is in a bloody chest on your outpost but not part of the accessible inventory AUGH 🤬 There's also a strange lack of choice with hab modules and air locks, and even stuff like a lack of foundations to put stuff on (maybe I need to put points into outpost building to see them, but odd they wouldn't be a basic item if so). The game itself looks beautiful, despite running everything on a GTX1070 and all settings on Low. I just can't wait until I can splurge on a new card and I can finally see this and CP2077 in their full glory. I have noticed the game is very CPU demanding, as a few mates of mine have been having issues with stutters with their older CPUs (4th gen i5s etc). Luckily I had upgraded earlier this year to an i5-12600k (from the venerable i5-3570k no less, godspeed 🫡), so I've not been having any issues.2 points -

So having picked up and really enjoying my Rog Ally it got me thinking about games I have in my steam library, some that are really quite good but may have been overlooked by most and I imagine we all feel that way about some games so let us know what games you loved but on the whole people may have missed. I think the first one that really came to mind for me is Alpha Protocol, if you ever wanted to play a video game that made you feel like James Bond I really feel this was it. It was made by Obsidian and published by Sega, Obsidian in fact have the rights back for this one I believe so they could one day bring it back.1 point -

The Hunt Showdown has abit of a feeling like an underground hardcore following but never seems to make it into a larger group of people I find. The game is absolutely top draw, the spin on the gamemode Battle Royale others did, they completely made it their own which makes every game feel like a new experience. Its a little more intense co-ordination needed and that can put some people off but its not hard to get into at all and such a great visual game, set in times where different encounters can happen with PVP and PVE all the time on the map. Plus, its cheap as chips now!!1 point -

I've seen similar comments from the same folks who shit on NMS when it was launched. It was too open, not enough detail, too much RNG, blah blah. Not a shot at you at all but it feels like nothing will make everyone happy. As a lover of space games, I'm enjoying it for what it is, a massively large single-player game with no mico transactions, which is all but a dead breed. We should all want this game to do well because if it doesn't, we will all be stuck with the 34th iteration of the same shit with COD, FIFA, whatever bullshit Destiny is up to, and all the same from mind-numbing MMOs. As always, some will love, some will hate, and some will just appreciate the time, effort, and overall skill involved with producing a game like this. I love this game, No Man's Sky, and Elite Dangerous, space is always the hardest genre to do because of its expansiveness. Appreciate the pov and remember, we are all living in an illusion.1 point -

So I have played a few hours on the Series S now and about 2 on the ROG, first impressions are really good, it does feel quite fallout esque to me just without the VATS, I think I have dived right into sidequests, the main story I had not interest in almost immediately lol but the side content seem's quite good and fun. The fact it's not open does not bother me, it feels a bit Mass effect in that regard but it never bothered me then and won't bother me now. I love the setting, I'm just in the first city you come to at the moment but still see me being there for hours yet as I seem to have about 10-12 side quests already and I'm quite happy pottering about and exploring Atlantis. The xbox is handling it pretty well so far as I can see and the lack of the extra power from the Series X does not bother me. The combat's pretty fluid for a Bethesda game, it's certainly more refined and improved over previous titles. The ROG also handles it pretty well, I had a couple of slowdowns but I think it was updating in the background, on the whole though it handles the game well. I think the only thing I have not liked so far is the film grain, it seems a bit over the top and I have ended up turning it off completely.1 point -

Yea i'm doing side quests and playing around in the shipbuilder, since I keep getting my shit pushed in on the main one as I jump into a system and get borked by 3 ships.... As of last night, I'm now a Ranger! I've also sent up my first tiny mining outpost for aluminum. Will be doing an Iron one next. I think I'm running on ultra on a 3080 and it's not nearly as hot as playing 7DTD so I'm happy with that. It really feels like an ultra-extended space fallout which I'm good with. Still trying to figure out the mechanics as there is some automation and factory production in the game too. Lots to figure out! Up to 3 ships at the moment too.1 point -

I've played about an hour and a half so far and at the risk of finally getting banned, I have submitted a refund request. It's not a bad game by any means from what I played early on but I just don't think I can be bothered with Bethesda's archaic and limited game design any more. Performance is all over the place and the combat is pretty atrocious, as is the AI. If the game is as slow to get going as they say then I'd rather just have my money back than risk playing longer and still not really enjoying it. The initial story premise is about as generic as it can get. The interface is pretty awful as is the optimisation options and I cannot believe they've made AMD GPU tech an exclusive. Certainly not letting them get bailed out with mods on that one and many other aspects. The game does look good in places but at its core, it does feel a decade out of date and Bethesda have failed so evolve as a developer with real ambition and scope.1 point -

Good to hear! I'm just glad they are 'supporting' 21:9 but it looks to be vert- so first thing I'm doing is doing a custom ini FOV and setting it to 120. The default seems to be in the 70-75 range which is absolutely nasty and people buying on Xbox will have a very boxed-in experience with no built-in slider.1 point -

First 8 hours in, it's fallout in space but better. The gunplay is far superior to Fallout, the planets are beautiful, been to a few. It will be slow to start off and many many things seem to be locked behind the skills tree etc. I already found a random ship while dicking around on a planet, immediately stole it and I'm now flying around with the bodies of my enemies in the cockpit! :). So far it's fun and engaging but first thing I absolutely fucking hate is Bethesda's inability to support 32:9 resolution. It's 2023 and this should not be a problem to run a 5120x1440 resolution, especially in a AAA tittle.1 point -

Yeah reviews seem to be a bit mixed - on the one hand the game seems quite archaic in terms of design and tech but on the other, it's like a typical Bethesda experience with lots to see and do. I really don't know what to expect and I'm also taking into account how the game may start off slow before it really gets going. Either way, at least it's something new and original to experience!1 point -

Astro A30 Reviews?

Astro Headsets have always been really great. My first set was the first generation A50's. I wanted wireless and great audio; plus there were other features about the A50's I liked. Don't perceive that I'm saying A50's are better; I want to just say the quality of Astro Headsets are fantastic. So I had those first gen A50's since 2013. The internal battery for them finally failed about 2020. Got the new A50s and then found what that part number for the old A50s internal battery was. I took apart that head set and soldered in the new battery. Now I had two A50s and recently sold those first gens. The whole story is about the quality of the product for how long it lasted. I believe these A30's are wired? If so then you should get a ton of life out of them. Cheers!!1 point -
