π€£π€£and what amazeballs passes they were mate! It was like Christmas 2021 had come really early π and thank you mate, I think the more visuals we can create the better it shows off the night we had.

I've not done some updates for a while but suffice to say we've had a roller-coaster of a ride with us now bouncing around Division 3, sometimes Division 4 and hitting the dizzy heights of Division 2 a few times already. Pretty amazing achievement I think really, considering that vast difference in skill level between us all and we're pretty much having a laugh and putting the world to right as we're playing! Having said that, Monday Night Football this week started off to a flyer after having one game left in Division 3 which we needed to win to get promoted. Usually the first game of the night is a 'warm-up' game where we get spanked but hilariously we managed to take a 2-1 lead through the Rodman & Kanye combination @Lurch @jordie1892 . Somehow we made 2 perfectly timed tackles for both to be given as Penalties (Script you yell?). Well, the FIFA gods were on our side as not one, but two pens were neatly saved (second hit the bar but it was clearly us clicking buttons) and we ended up winning the game 3-2 to secure promotion. After that, the night went downhill rapidly and didn't come back up. Kind of like my se...no, I won't go there. Tom @LordBaguette will lose it if I go all negative again π The results below however could've been a different story entirely, as our first game in, we started off to a flyer. James aka Rodders, hit 2 early strikes when it looked like he lost the ball both times only for him to turn like an 8-foot Olympic ice skater and bulleted home two goals. 27 minutes in, 2-0 up and we felt great. Then everything froze. For everyone. We all thought we'd get the win because we'd played enough to secure a result, but no. Nothing. After that devastating blow though, we struggled to keep the goals down, although still dominating possession up top. Goals were going in the way they had on previous occasions and it was like we had to take so much energy to build up for a goal, we'd end up losing possession, one ball through and they'd be one-on-one again. Goal. A few batterings in between those performances and a cheeky odd win too, we all probably wanted to go down as quickly as we could. We tried to end the night on a high back in Division 3 but after leading 5-3 with 20 minutes to go, and then finish with a 6-5 loss. I think the whole night was typified when we were playing well, @Macca89 managed to slide in and intercept a keeper throw out on the edge of the box, and with the ball trundling towards the net the whistle blows for Half Time. I did score a couple of good goals too though which i was happy with...until @jordie1892 showed me how I looked like a half-decent John Flanagan ππ€£ Unlucky lads, sometimes nights won't always go our way but still a good laugh! @Lurch @jordie1892 @Macca89 @LordBaguette @Dan94 @TonyAE86 @G_dub52 @Findmartin GGFG!

Good to have opinions on this and great to see so much advice. If my 2p is worth anything, I have a Secret Lab chair and if you can afford one, then i'd always say buy one. I think its similar to having Astros as a headset over a cheaper version. Both do the same job but this chair has helped me no end, especially now I live in it every day for 12ish hours at least a day in lockdown. As we seem to have a bit of time here as i'm sure Gaz will be delighted about π from a dummy to another dummy when it comes to this stuff around the highly tech guys and girls, we should make this as simple as possible. A self build I think is the way forward because it helps you learn as you go along. All it is, is a fairly simple jigsaw, and something that could be walked through on video. What helped right at the start though was - what pieces do I need! I think @Greboth pulls this out the most so Gary can see what he needs so he can learn along the way. Can someone check the list i've took from Greebs post and add to it where possible please? I've added Keyboard and Mouse which were missing at first glance. GPU / Video Card CPU CPU Cooler (Optional but you might as well) Motherboard RAM / Memory Power Supply /PSU Storage - SSD Storage - Internal Hard Drive Case Monitor Keyboard Mouse Operating System Chair (Optional like opening reply) @techno be super clear on the budget because now you know your money needs to cover these 13 must-have items above. Its then putting 12 of those items into the Case (13th item). I apologise if i'm sounding like i'm making you suck eggs but i'm dumming it down to how I told myself because I just turned myself off all things PC for years I hadn't pretty much forgotten everything I knew (which was very little compared to these guys anyway). The budget then should be like how @J4MES OX4D said. Minimum spend with a max you'd go up to. Make the objectives real. You want for officey stuff and photography and then I imagine some hard working games we all commonly play, right? If so, then I'm sure the others here will take your list and do a PC Part Picker List so you can start seeing what each part costs, lowest price today and where to buy them from. Once you get there, then its all about next steps of building it which i'm sure we can all work out together with you. But let's take one step at a time i'd say π Great to see you making the jump though, one of the best things I did in recent years!

@RedBeardCG , i've amended the event as it just needed a little tick at the bottom to allow for RSVP so i've sorted it for you π Added everyone above - @Baabcat , if Charlie can't make it I think he can't decline it afterwards but if not just ask him to post up and we can sort. Great to see these go in so regularly now! I wish I could commit to this but can't do that time so early. I'm sure they'll be a sixth though! P.S. Double check you picked the right time, Red as it says 9am for the UK π

Not sure we can get away with @Macca89 's 'dammit' one π€£ but 'Shoot it' in his strongest, high pitched Scottish voice would do the trick! @TonyAE86 's clearly can be a mix of 'Arrgghh, yeah....I should have....I pressed L1 didnt I' @Lurch James could literally say anything in ASMR and it'd work. 'Get in there' is quite apt when said whispering π

Can you try a little harder to push some info out in text please. We don't accept spamming a simple link that pushes people away from FG without knowing you. The Introduction section is the place to start if you want us to trust your links. Fanks very muchly.

I need to try that then π€£ I've not played Warzone for a little while but hearing that the Mach 10 is also the go to weapon apparently.

Might be easier on this one to keep booking regular raid slots and then checking with everyone who joins up for that said raid to see what is outstanding. Especially with the 'all Solar classes' type ones. The other day I was with Clive @Teenwolf25 and they were helping me get a few Last Wish ones which meant per encounter we'd all switch to the relevant classes that were needed so it doesn't need to be all done in one run. I'd leave Flawless also on the list to try and get done. Clive mentioned you get a cool shader at least and as an accomplishment, its one to personally saviour i'm sure.
-
I agree to an extent Clive for sure. Raid seals should be one of the hardest to get but I still think based on the entire playerbase, its easy for us to forget that we're extremely lucky we get to have people that can gather for a fireteam of 6 and then be co-ordinated enough to get it done. I'm pretty sure its still around 10% of everyone has played or still plays Destiny thats only done one raid. That doesn't mean it should be easier but it will arguably still be a small % that do the seal. Cursebreaker is only at 20% complete on braytech (thats via how many people have registered with that website which won't be everyone) and thats not even a raid seal. @Baabcat is also right as you should be majorly proud you have that pinnacle seal in PvE with the Grandmaster title nailed already! That seems to be the way Bungie are heading. Either way though, whatever seal we can get, its always nice to see that gold seal shining on your character when others don't have it!

Some of the regular FIFA lot had suggested some iconic sayings and sounds that we regular hear so I think we should bank up all the ideas so we can make a virtual soundboard! I've already found an online place that we can make the sounds on, which we could even then use on a stream or even do something even more random and maybe make a physical one π€£ So let's hear the best ones you can think of people! @Macca89 @LordBaguette @Dan94 @G_dub52 @Lurch @jordie1892 @Glen11 @ChaosGladiator @TonyAE86 @Findmartin

Love seeing new things like this. Nice to pop in and see how you're doing - let me know how it helps the motivation finding the time to write up how you got on each workout π

Glad you didn't need me in a good way, La! Great job!

Came here to say i'd be struggling just because of stuff I need to do but looks like you already have 6 which is ace to see. Lets see how the pattern works out here on out as i'm sure we can get some times even when you're both back at work @RenFengge π

An impromptu evening of GT Sport on an FG Friday which was not expected but gratefully received! Without @JBR-Kiwi , @Greboth had a slightly easier night of it in the main although i'd like to think the gap is closing ever so slightly from the chasing pack. What's great to see is that the whole pack are becoming ever closer in timings which means we are gonna have even more tighter racing. I think it will also end in a lot of 'Sorry's' and balls up for sure. I think last night showed @phil bottle is just seriously unlucky of late with the amount of times he got bashed off the track ππ€£ The gap on qualifying between first and last is now starting to become less than 10 seconds for everyone and whilst that can still feel a lot, many races will involve penalties, racing incidents, cock ups and then tyre degradation and pit stop fuelling so lots still can happen. I think Paul @slamminbones made some huge strides in his timings last night, especially the second race, alongside newcomer @Stretch616 that had speed right from the start. Matty @Misneach_ pulled a few good lap times out before he had to go and I think the luck for @phil bottle started to change from the first race to the second; a sixth out of 10 for the first race but second out of 6 in the last race and not far off @Greboth for a few good laps. Being away on holiday meant I was a little distracted in the first race which meant I dropped back to 9th I think at one stage due to the first corner on Monza. Lots of late breaking caused Phil to be sent off the track, with @Mikepjbell showing his 'Usual Suspects' efforts losing all control of the first chicane. Stretch and Matty came unscathed chasing after Greebs but as the laps went on the time gap stretched with a few minor errors coming in. Stretch lost it on too wide and allowed me to get through on a later lap which caused his car to swing out into the sand. Mike managed to also skip the chicane, and only get a 4.5 second penalty which shoved him into second π€£ . I couldn't catch him after making my way through the pack. Meanwhile Stretchy took Matty on the line based on his penalty with Tom @LordBaguette , Tony @TonyAE86 and Paul @slamminbones continuing to get to grips with the race pace and Gr.4. 2nd race was a real good learner for us all, with Greebs way out ahead but it was nice to give everyone to time to understand how to get the best out of the Audi TT on a fairly simple track. Tom @LordBaguette started to really get some race pace by the end of the night, whilst Stretch looked yet again fast. I had a 'Willow Springs' moment where my Qualifying was solid and super close to Greebs (0.3 seconds) but I was unable to turn into the race where I probably gave everyone too much respect as literally everyone went screaming into the first corner. I fought back to be right behind Phil but I had a go on the outside of one of the final corners and probably should've shown abit more aggression to take an inside line. All in all a great night again and I think with a bunch of people missing and also new people to join in on GT Sport FG races, we could be looking at a near full FG race night!! GGFG

I now expect to see by April, @TonyAE86 leading the standings...either that or the same picture will have a massive gaping hole in that desk from all the rage π€£π€£

Playstation Plus Free games
GazzaGarratt replied to crispymorgan's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Thanks @Spacedeck . Actually looks like a variation of the free MMO games you see. Could be worth a dabble if you have time to invest in it. -
I remember those days too mate π€£ I used to read Gamesmaster back in the day and would love to get into them again, however I think its been pointed out the adverts take up most space but more importantly I suppose I went there for new insightful bits and bobs e.g. Guides, new games, new bits, etc which is now on big t'internet these days. I actually think places like ours here does a better job of getting things across too because it feels more real whereas places like IGN sometimes feel way too forced, which then you lose that originality on why you loved it in the first place. Are there any Magazines in the gaming world still worth a punt? I think I'd go for physical copies if there is one worthwhile.

Couldn't agree more with you @JBR-Kiwi , this weeks racing was seriously good fun. 10 players on the grid this week after 9 last week - we'll soon have a max 16 players on the grid after hearing @Macca89 @Diddums and @Stretch616 are also looking to get involved when they can. I'm really starting to get a rhythm going for the first race of the night. It took me the whole of practice though to work out what car could work on that Tokyo track but I eventually settled on my 5th choice, the Audi TT. Although I got the 3rd fastest time in practice (pipping @Mikepjbell ) and I messed up my Qualy laps to start 5th or 6th. Probably didn't help racing @phil bottle and @JBR-Kiwi . The first corner we all knew was going to be a toughie and it worked out well for me with Matty @Misneach_ in 3rd with @Mikepjbell and @jordie1892 close behind me. Greebs got off to a flyer with Kiwi but it seemed even Kiwi was picking up penalties like pretty much everyone on the track after hitting walls along the way. If I could've hit less walls than I feel like I was getting closer to Kiwi than I ever have - no way near still to challenge 2nd but enough to keep my hopes up that I'm improving. Mike was pushing hard but probably too hard as his penalties racked up. After a promising start Jordie tried his best to keep in the middle of the pack but lost time through each lap. I was very impressed with Harold @Spacedeck finishing 4th after his penalties were slightly less than Mike's. Phil struggled to get going for once which was a surprise but we also saw Paul and Matty make some massive strides in getting closer to the pack. I'm hoping they see their own improvements week on week. The other 2 races were all over the place but great to shift the pack around! Mike held his own very well in our mid-duel holding me off until I made silly mistakes which let Phil and Matty past. I was getting penalties like others kept getting put my Supra just wasn't fast enough for some reason although it felt good around corners. The 3rd race i did better but without little practice for many I think that helped me in my favour tbh! One thing I noticed was actually, I little bit more practice on the first race suited us all. There's a balance to be had because we all struggle to get there on time. Let's keep an eye on it as I wouldn't want people to get bored over too much practice but at the same time it helps many of us out I believe.

Happy New Year to you all and good thread @Spacedeck . We had a quiet one with the kids, and they enjoyed staying up until midnight although they were knackered and still not awake yet! I'd like to come back to this thread as I want to think about what goals I'd love to achieve this year. Just because we think it might be another one of those years, I dont want to accept that on face value as there's so much we can still accomplish but I know I need to do much better than 2020. One thing is for sure though, I would love to do more for others this year - as an individual but also as a family at FG. We can smash that out of the park for sure π

Worth a punt then Harold? I've never heard of it before. -
What did you get for Christmas 2020?
GazzaGarratt replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in Any General Discussion
Hahaha! Now that would be awesome mate! Get me a Delorean with 1000 free credits! I've heard they are amazing machines. I think @Greboth has/or is picking up the same/similar version? I really didn't think about using them for movies or programmes at all. However, I do believe VR is now a viable and worthwhile product, especially after seeing the PSVR working which isn't on the same level as what you've got. Glad you had a good Christmas buddy, and also glad you're not a stranger in these crazy days π€ -

Great thread which also reminds me that I actually should try and fully complete one at some point this century π
