A night where the drum roll lasted longer than expected for FGFC to kick into a real gear this week. But once it did, it banged like never before. Season 56 was a real hard season to overcome, especially as we've noticed that it actually gets harder when we have a 10/11 players. However, it really adds to the excitement as is even more rewarding when the hard work pays off. For the first time that I can remember, FGFC got rolled over comfortably even the first 3 games. It wasn't just warm up nerves. The teams we came up against were on point and ripped our defence apart. At least we now know how Jurgen Klopp feels like when whatever he tries of late, it just wasn't working. Highlight though was Gary Goals @LordBaguette incredible skills in mini sparks of craziness which deserved a few goals after he beat 4-5 defenders in 2 separate occasions, but the goal just didn't want to come for Gary, much to the anger of @LordBaguette . Clearly alexobar felt sorry for us when they turned up against us after 3 losses in a row, so a quick quit gave us a lifeline whilst FGFC were struggling to pick the points up to remain in Division 3. Although h3ro team who also played with PSG, didn't feel pity and took a 1-0 lead early doors in our 5th game of the night. Trying to find inspiration, Sexual Chocolate @jordie1892 started shouting for throw-ins through his TV. It seemed to work, weirdly. In injury time a little inside ball to Maccanohairman @Macca89 from Rodman @Lurch gave him the perfect opportunity for a trademark Macca curler into the far right corner. Riding our luck in the second half, a strange penalty given away by Sexual Chocolate was saved by AI Diddums kept us in it. Unfortunately the AI Diddums suicide-passed to @jordie1892 to give their forward a tap in. He then chipped a ball on 2 minutes later straight to their forward (again!) and could only parry his shot back to them who finished their second goal in 2 minutes to take a 3-1 lead. Dejected but not defeated the Forever Gaming passing started to flow. A lovely passing move so a rasping drive from Rodman get tipped over for a corner. We didn't let the momentum slip as the resulting corner was whipped over for our trademark FGFC corner with @Lurch getting the header at the front post (2-3). Final balls were just getting dispossessed, tackles started to fly in as we could sense their nerves. An 87th minute attack saw the Assist King @Macca89 scoop the ball over the centre back's head for Gary Goals @LordBaguette to belt the ball home for a 3-3 draw. Whilst the football juices were starting to flow, we just couldn't get the results we needed. That well fought 3-3 draw wasn't much reward and a 1-1 draw quickly followed. Long term absentee Henrik Larrson @Glen11 was back after injuring his left ball sack in a dog accident which left him missing numerous weeks. His return through the night meant we had 11 for the first time, so in good spirits Club Tropicana @GazzaGarratt took the job between the goalposts. It was a difficult job and some goals crept in which I was hoping wouldn't be the case but credit to the lads. A fantastic spirit saw FGFC fight back from 2-0 down to 2-2. After falling behind early in the second half, @Glen11 was back in form like he hadn't been away, with a quick equaliser and then @Macca89 started making the late goals a habit with an 88th minute winner. A valiant effort followed but we succumbed to a late winner which sentus down by the end of the night. We could've easily felt like the night got the better of us, but no one felt down and gave up. We were thirsty to keep the spirits high and really good football that started to show in the past few games. Division 4 started and everything clicked. 👊 Early goals from Barlos @Findmartin , Larrson and Rodman gave FGFC a 3-1 lead at half time of the first game and the carnage continued into the second half with another 4 goals hammered in, with a beaty of a freekick nestled in the bunch of goals from no other than Maccanohairman himself. A few high score draws followed and as the night entered the final stages with people signing off for the night, Monday Night Football fireworks erupted, with an explosion of 17 goals across 3 games. The forward play was incredible, Sexual Chocolate getting 5 in one game and some direct teamplay as some usual defensive minded players switched up their positions to contribute towards the tally chart - most notably Stretch Armstong @Stretch616 notching a hattrick too. A little gutted that I didn't get any highlights from those games but I managed to get a highlight reel from with the goals from the 7-1 win that started off Division 4. Promotion back to Division 3 was secured, leaving a title game for another night. @jordie1892 finishing with 12 goals and the Assist King @Macca89 on top of the assists with 11. Great to see @Glen11 back and notching a trio of goals and assists in each column. A great night of football and laughs from the terrific twelve that turned up. SPOILERS WandaVision Spoiler Discussion
GazzaGarratt replied to LordBaguette's topic in Movies, TV & Music
Great ending to a TV Series for me. Nicely done and not too over the top. Yes, lots of open ends in a way but WandaVision was always going to fall foul of being the first big thing into Marvel Phase Four so it ad to create some different paths and unanswered questions. I can easily see people doing that because people have come off Endgame going into this and reality was likely to always be never anywhere near as grand as that. Looking into your theories, whilst most will likely come true in the future, I think they like to keep those big reveals for the big films. I enjoyed the ending between Wanda and Vision - that was a AAA film ending. Acting was terrific. Agree with your disappointments Tom. But then again, I think its because we hyped up the first Phase 4 Marvel series. Especially when the episodes are only 30 minutes long with exception from the last episode. Not sure how people will feel about White Vision. Was there more than one Vision in the comics? Agatha is very underrated and her parts I really enjoyed. As you say, she isn't really 'finished' because of what she said...although what i can't figure out is that she kept her under control in the Hex but she destoyed the Hex...so how is she now under control still? She can't be. Definitely gonna be in Dr. Strange 2. The post episode credits were okay. You helped me get more excited about what they show as to others I'm not sure they'd say much to standard Joe off the street. I'd give it a 7.5. Last 2 episodes saved it. A very unique series that was nice to see a change up in action, etc, but was so out there and different, I can totally understand why some people may feel they couldn't keep up with what was going on. My only other lasting thought was that I have seen some Netflix series done fantastically well, arguably better than this on much lower budgets with longer episodes. Disney's approach is obviously targeting to change the way that we digest TV and films again, so they're naturally coming up against some tension on that side of things but with the budget they had on this you mentioned to me online last night ($25m per episode?) its a shame most of it probably went on the Actor wages!! She played it bloody well though!! -
Love it Seb, great to see so many gonna have a game or two on this!! I'll look to get it reinstalled and maybe have some games in the week with some of you ❤️
-
Hey up dude @ChaosGladiator ! I was planning on just to see where the night takes me personally tonight, as I half expected many people to play different games tonight after a number of weeks playing gta, cod, etc. Btw, its totally not because I can't get my ass away from GTA or CoD, its because Siege always needs more than half a brain cell to play it! And on a Friday evening where the drinks flow, I seriously doubt most people could work out what trap or skill their operator is using! 🤣🤣 Always wanna see more Siege around the place, especially on events. Just proved in the past when we have played it as a game that can be played on any day of the week - apart from Friday 🤣 Why don't we look for some midweek or weekend evening nights to play if people want that?

It does look very intriguing. I used to enjoy simulators like this but this one seems very harsh and based on your initial opinions that could get annoying very quickly!! 😄 I've haven't got the time to sink into something like this at the moment. If I did, I wanted to get back into Two Point Hospital as thats far less strenuous and abit of fun on top. Keep us informed if there is a decent way to start out which helps get into it. Can you pause it at any moment btw? I would probably get interrupted alot you see.

I love Alan Tudyk in Firefly. Looks pretty good although I'd be watching it on my own as Hayley hates alien stuff cos she thinks its not real...well, duh 😄

In the This Week At Bungie (TWAB) post this week, they've explained within the next Festival of the Lost event coming up soon, they get the chance to offer one concept armour via Eververse (so real money)...so, which one are you?! Lets see which wins a poll here! #TeamDino or #TeamMonster ?! Both sets look incredible if you ask me! Lets hope its one of those things to spin up some PR and we get both! Can't deny I'm team dino, but the more I look at them, the more I prefer the monster versions!

If i'm honest Tommy @BO7H B4RRELS , I have no idea where to start with this stuff. I've usually played a blind eye to all of it. How did you all find out where to start?
-
For other races each Tuesday makes sense. Not for this league one though. We can still have fun most of the night then and I don't think Qualifying will always be in the same order as we think when I can see many people improving week on week!
-
Can't wait to check it out Carl @TurboR56Mini ! Looks fantastic. Definitely needed something safe and cosy to smelt the iron deposits in that ol' Swamp
-
Normally I'd be saying yes to this!...But i've been talking to some of the other FGers that are interested in Destiny so I plan to help them get through some content and understand some more stuff so we have even more people at some point that can join on the raids! If we can't i'd hope to be around on the weekend around my Valheim adventures 😎

EA giving studios freedom with Game development
GazzaGarratt replied to Riff Machine's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Good thoughts, La. I enjoyed reading all of that. Usually this is my tagline for anyone at FG when i'm trying to get them to join in on the fun 😄 The only thing I would say is that not all shite games are salvageable, even with the fun levels us lot can create 🤣- 22 replies

Yeah seemed a good race from what I could hear. Unfortunately that incident completely ended the race for me really early on but that's racing for you. I also didn't put fuel in by accidentally pressing X on the wheel so for 3 full laps @ 4mins a pop, I had to conserve fuel massively. If I didnt need to do that I would've been at least one or two places higher even after having a huge deficit to claw back. Penalties weren't as bad as qualifying. I got through the whole race without them until right near the final few corners.

Sorry buddy, we don't allow just spamming of links to other sites unless you're a trusted FGer. This is your first post, with your username as what you're trying to do. If you here cos you want to be here, fantastic. I'll lok forward to seeing your intro in the introduction section all about you, what games you like, etc and then see you around FG in other places. 👍

Seeing the Swamp and @tronic44's Tombstones.... 😄

Not sure whether to be impressed or scared how real it looks! I'm mainly an objective based person though so I ain't really sure what i'd do with it Cal! @TheMuggySpud

Sounds like a great idea and a super idea to ask everyone before we look into what to do next. I think as more and more of us are getting on, I really want to make sure they can feel like they can contribute and create stuff themselves, all for the community cause. I think this is a SUPER idea and we should get it up as an event! The game isn't going anywhere so we shouldn't be in any rush to do stuff. This is why I'm comfortable just creating more places, reinforcing more current builds because it adds to the fun of it all. I'd rather create something near the swamp to smelt the Iron to make stuff than hop via my own personal world to speed stuff up. Sometimes it makes sense but I enjoy the idea of even saying to each other 'how should we do this?'....and now we can build LONGBOATS...I think we should explore the seas over the coming weeks and watch us get obliterated together by some sea serpent. Sounds deligtful and hilarious even when I type it! 😄🤣
-
Yeah, about that....its incredibly insane!! I was determined on my day off to go and have some exploring time as I wanted to feel like I was able to attempt something that was challenging. This was to go to the swamp and survive enough to bring back some loot to create better things to then go back and get the prestigious Iron we needed for next steps. @tronic44, Pablo (rich's friend) and me went to the swamp after i pushed so far and got loads of items but ran out of luck. We attempted time after time to get our stuff back, and continually died getting caught out by leeches in the water. About 5 boats later, we eventually got our stuff and went in a little deeper. I must say the jump after the second boss to the third is quite substantial. The subconscious way through someone thought about this change in the game and allows you to subtlety change and adapt to potions whilst using the latest things you could make, like the tankard are very satisying. After a few runs to a few crypts in between breaks, @tronic44 beat an extended pathway to the swamps whilst Ihad a brief look at the Mountains on our spawn island, as we can now make Frost resistant potions. Be well aware, Wolves HURT ALOT. I died many times killing a few but going back to see what was in there. At night something amazing is in there called a Fenring. Apparently only appears at night and howls to call other wolves to come close when you take it on. Lots of health, i got within 5% of killing it to then die and wasn't able to get back in time before sunrise. Apparently some pretty Wolf leg armour can be made with the stuff he drops, alongside some rare drops Wolves give you (Fangs, Pelts, etc). Anyway, before I got off for FIFA Monday Night Football, I added a few bits which I believe Carl completed later on to our Forge, thanks buddy. You'll now find the dining/storage hall at the Vault to be a cool place to hang out with the Comfort level now at 12. Here's a view from either side. Go and sit in the Raven Throne when you get chance 😄

EA giving studios freedom with Game development
GazzaGarratt replied to Riff Machine's topic in General Gaming Discussion
And on balance (which is effing weird cos i'm saying this in a thread I have little love for EA 😄 )but you would say that the fun has happened because sometimes game development IS good? I don't like watching the news because its far more bias to negative news because it generates more interest. I'd love to see what makes us tick in a positive sense. Not many people decide to pick up on the positive parts of really anything created these days but I'm just trying to step back a little and see if there is any positive stuff in this? Maybe just admitting the fact they were wrong to dictate so much to game developers and the next few games they'll be trying to allow them some freedom....IS a good thing? Albeit very minor because we have little faith that they'll truly follow their own words? 😄 Just a random 2p that popped in my mind.- 22 replies

To be clear before I get into it, this isn't a dig or directed at anyone specifically at all. From since the beginning of time, which is basically FG's existence obviously, we see so many people - so many of us - disgruntled, annoyed, pissed off, etc, about the state of Call of Duty franchise and hammering the next game that is out without really seeing what people really DO want. So here it is - what Call of Duty characteristics do you want them to create? Think of setting, time, perks, guns, gameplay dynamics, ultimates/supers (or not). I'm trying to see if there really is something that would get your spices flowing. And don't cop out with 'just make MW2 remastered' because that shit has been done before and did well in that era. You've seen how remastered goes. A little nostalgia and the positive comments soon turn into utter negative crap which after a while you just don't wanna read cos it depresses you. I'm really interested to know what you guys want and how they could concoct a near perfect Call of Duty. And don't get hung up on the name, some people will hate CoD if it just says 'CoD' in it. Rather than dwell on that, focus on what could be GOOD to see. Maybe we could see some in the next game, or the ones already out today.

Hmmm, you got me thinking of a separate question that could spiral.

EA giving studios freedom with Game development
GazzaGarratt replied to Riff Machine's topic in General Gaming Discussion
That's what it felt like to me. I'm a firm believer in always reading things and seeing what happens too, because, whilst it was a good analogy, I wouldn't rate this on the same level to partner abuse 😄. I bought Anthem for a fiver one past Christmas because it felt like it was worth that gamble to see what they'd do - and so I didn't lose too much after the many worries that came out before and just after the launch. Funnily enough, I agree with you in most parts of Destiny too as many developers can get super lazy in these times but theres enough in that game to be able to enjoy yourself with just the basic core gameplay loop. That is something that many games don't seem to be able to master in the times of 'Give me everything NOW and ALL OF IT so I can gorge it and forget about how good/bad it tasted'. I think you're bang on the money. The amount of games we all at FG play with each other are either games that have been out for many years and well established, or they are new games that are based on their predecessors. I can't see when the next stand-out game will be out there for our one community to rally behind. CoD and Destiny were the ones and ironically still are to some degree - but that isn't a bad thing either. We're all very quick to jump on the bandwagon and give games shit whereas, if we stopped for one second and played some games with everyone, you'd find it we'd be talking more about our hilarious memories we've made than how shit the games are. From a keyboard. Without the games switched on.- 22 replies

Final Fantasy VII Remake - New Episode
GazzaGarratt replied to RenFengge's topic in RPG / Action / Adventure
Do you think though that's because you need the whole open world to go and source yourself a chocobo yourself? Have the fun was finding the right type of chocobo in the wild and then bringing it to the races. Surely they need more installments of the game to come out? -
You're not missing much on next gen mate, thats for sure. Especially with this game still the winner of the CoD that is keeping most players on it, and clearly available for PS4. Separate problem I think that will hurt their income over time will be the size of their games. They've got to do something about it as it isn't just Sony to deal with it and give us bigger hard drives (although i'll take that purely from a different POV). Now they've figured out the F2P market with Warzone somewhat, I actually think this will do the franchise a favour and maybe they'll go away from their ritual stuff that nearly everyone here and elsewhere hates.

Final Fantasy VII Remake - New Episode
GazzaGarratt replied to RenFengge's topic in RPG / Action / Adventure
I see in a separate thread we get a free PS5 upgrade for the game which is ace to see. Do you think they've released this as they had Yuffie ready to go but the next installment is going to be delayed? Oh, and @Middle Class Caveman you seen this yet?? 😎
