Thanks to @Greboth, my son has had something for the first time keep himself off Fortnite for more than a day! 🤣🤣 Dax got one for Christmas as we struggled on what to get someone that just does Fortnite on a PS4. He now spends his time split across that game still but the other half is on the PSVR with Five Nights at Freddy's game. He even used some of his Xmas money on the expansion pack rather than more V-bucks!!! Ultimately, the kit works really well. You need a bit of space but not as much as you may think as you can sit down with it. What I would say is you need to also buy the PS4 move sensor controllers separately as i've yet to see one bundle that comes with the VR headset. Strange marketing product design but it is what it is. Lots of wires to be aware of so you need to be just ask them to careful they don't trip up on anything. But seeing the joy he has experience motion games is great to see. He also has Iron Man VR and his autistic side loves this because i can see him shake with excitement when he flies into the sky. How old are your kids again, Clive?

FG Driver of the Week Poll - 26th January 2021
GazzaGarratt replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in Gran Turismo
I thought James @Lurch stood out last night after only having a little practice session over the weekend, his times were unreal and although he was unlucky in the first race after spinning out on the first lap, his Laguna Seca drive was superb. I might've passed him if I hadn't have spun off after changing tyres but thats the key - being consistent and making next to no errors rewards you in the end. Special mentions from me for Paul @slamminbones who had some great race speed on Brands Hatch, closest i've seen you in one lap race speed to the top runners and also Rich @tronic44 for driving a solid race on Brands Hatch and finishing 3rd, his best finish to date I believe. -
I thought this would be a great way to start sharing how well we thought others did in the night as no two evenings are usually the same with all of us. I think this will boost some people when they think they might not have done so well but also gives us a little highlight for each week that we can think of how others did, not just ourselves. If we can try and get one up after each Tuesday race night thats the plan but obviously if others can help me get the poll up before I get here that would be awesome stuffs. Its really easy getting a poll up and adding the names. I'll make sure it shows on the Game Hub GT Sport page too! Great racing everyone, keep up the awesome fun we're having! GGFG Racers last night: @Greboth @JBR-Kiwi @G_dub52 @tronic44 @phil bottle @GazzaGarratt @Lurch @Shucker @Misneach_ @slamminbones @Stretch616 @TonyAE86 @Mikepjbell @Macca89 @LordBaguette

The number is quite numbing really. I won't get into the political BS - my overall view is they're all a bunch of c u next Tuesdays, regardless what side. The only thing I wonder is if that small minority of people that didn't follow the guidelines from the outset, I wonder where we'd be. Its all ifs and maybes now though, so for me, i'm still following the guidelines and hope others can too (whether we disagree with it or not) and i'd expect and hope we could get back quicker to some things that are more the normality we experienced before this horrible disease was here. I think we all need that huge FG meet up sooner rather than later 🙏 Stay safe everyone. Glad we have this place to still connect us all.

@LordBaguette so here's what i've found so far. Others can recommend anything else and also say if these are half decent: 27 inch BenQ. 1ms response time and 144hz. £249.99. Tons of reviews that this is exteremely solid and good value for money BenQ MOBIUZ EX2710 27 Inch HDRi IPS Gaming Monitor, 144 Hz 1ms FreeSync Premium FHD, PS5/Xbox X Compatible: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Shop for BenQ PC products at the Amazon.co.uk Computers & Accessories store. 31.5 inch ASUS. 1ms response time and 165hz. £399. Lots of reviews and a bigger monitor, probably the biggest i'd ever go for a monitor. It is curved though so that might put you off if you still care about that. ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved Gaming Monitor 31.5 inch WQHD (2560x1440), 165Hz(Above 144Hz), Extreme Low Motion Blur, Adaptive-sync, FreeSync Premium, 1ms (MPRT), HDR10, Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Buy 24.5 inch ASUS. 0.5ms response time and 165hz. £249.97. Same price as the 27 BenQ however significant improvements and 24/25 inch is a good size if you are eventually looking for dual monitors in the future within your set up (trust me, if you're going PC and staying with consoles, you'll want two monitors). ASUS VG258QR 25 Inch (24.5 Inch) FHD (1920 x 1080) Esports Gaming Monitor, 0.5 ms, Up to 165 Hz, DP, HDMI, DVI-D, Super Narrow Bezel, FreeSync, Low Blue Light, Flicker Free ,Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Buy There are a few more cheaper 24 inch ones nearer the £200-£240 mark that will honestly do you fine if you're looking to save money as thats just under half your budget.

Sells more though with the RE tag @phil bottle 😎 RE4 looked fantastic and I used to watch my mate nail that game, it was so refreshingly different. But it was still third person, just from a different view. I saw the following tweet from a game director I follow and it hit one of the critical points for me: The whole aesthetic of seeing your character in RE games, made it iconic and unique to their franchise. Always good to try to do things differently. RE4 and RE7 did that. One did brilliantly, the other was Marmite. Ithink they stuck with FPS because of pure re-use of game assets in a world where people want games coming out quicker than the 6/7 years it takes to build one from scratch. Don't blame them but this is why it won't sell mega bucks. People should give the RE Revelations game a go. It has co-op ability which makes the game very unique. Not the greatest controls but then what RE game does! Thats where I thought they could push this franchise a little more down that road.

I'm not seeing what difference I'm losing on my PS5 btw - am I supposed to see a significant difference? It might be helpful for Tom to know this too if he is gonna get a PS5 eventually. For me, my PS5 is on one and the PC is on the other and initial view is that when we do get a PS5 game to play 😄 it looks bloody fantastic, mainly down to the frame rate the new games are made with (Destiny 2 PvP and CoD Cold War are 120FPS)
-
I didn't hear about that tbh. Also, how much does HDR really make a difference. I'd love to see how much the latest TVs and Monitors are different to the current 4k 144hz. I think he needs one sharpish @J4MES OX4D cos he aint gonna cope with one TV in the house for much longer!

Any reason you said no to a curved one @LordBaguette ? I thought i'd never buy a curved one but a good deal turned up on a 24" MSI one and now having two of them in front of me, I can't see any disadvantage to them. If its for longevity for wheh you get a PC, you should think about size as you might want to have 2 monitors over time. The 24" ones I have I think are around £220-250 so I can find them if needed. 1ms response, 144HZ, etc, so all top end settings.

The jump may have been too big for him but i'm getting really fed up of the instant success pressure that is put on managers today. Gone are the days where you can just buy a squad to win the title - you have to get the balance in the team to work and that can take more than a few seasons. It was only unsurprising to me because it was Chelsea but i stupidly hoped that Abramovich had started to change a little. Even winning a few things there doesn't keep you safe these days. Its more a case of be careful what you wish for. How has he not worked out that there is a trend in removing managers every year isn't healthy for his club. There is no other clearer trend as to why Chelsea aren't doing as well as they should.

I might have to push on with going back to remastered RE2 & 3. I think it looks great but I don't think FPS with RE games is for me. I like how theyre incoporating decent additions to previous successful games but i'm totally with you both on the price so far. Not worth £65. In fact most PS5 titles aren't worth 65 squids!!

Gutted i couldn;t make it on Thursday. With stuff at home meaning i needed multiple breaks i just didn't want to commit and leave you hanging and waiting around. I'm waiting for Hayley to get back from the shops today so I can work out some time to hopefully be available for runs this weekend. Happy to plough myself into any triumph or raid we're thinking of too.

Simple high fibre and toning health plans
GazzaGarratt replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in Health & Fitness
No, i didn't get anywhere really in terms of fibre. All i've done in simple terms is try to eat less shit. Basically less chocolate and biscuits. Also, try to not drink too many beers really late, which i've swapped out many nights for a few cups of tea. Oh, and also not to try an eat that shit far too late. I get hungry really late on gaming so that where a cuppa comes into play which stops me eating. I still need to find more stuff. In the mornings i'll try and switch to these shreddies with raisins in them as I know that will have fibre. I'm also always better when I can get my blowout running around a football pitch for an hour a week. Unfortunately lockdown has scuppered that so i need to force myself out to run at some stage. I'm just struggling in that department due to how busy our life is with the pups, home schooling, work, fg, blah, blah, blah, etc. Consicous i don't wanna say that all the time as it can easily become an excuse not to do the above stuff - but I just need to balance and sometimes not be too harsh on myself. This year has so far been a way better start for me physical health wise. I just need to balance that out and give mroe time for my mental side of things for a few weeks I reckon. Your Fitness PPR though has me back thinking about HIT programmes so might try and make one for a weekend day perhaps at home. -
Good to know other things are still working. I just really wish loadout drops were 20k to buy - minimum. So many people just play > Get Cash > Buy Loadout > Try and Last out until final circle. Its a viable option but it shuts down so many ideas on how to play the game that equally work. Warzone is a fantastic gamemode where if you don't play that strat, virtually every game feels completely different.

Thanks Tommy. No refunds though, I need that money to pay for food for the wife and kids, obvs 😄 We needed to show more of everything here as its just so underutilised its a real shame. Hopefully first impressions seems to be helping it. re: pinkish colour, I'll take a look at that at some point. Our red in the FG is actually off red already and that red is the same FG red with transparent elements added so its possibly the faded colour that is doing that. I'd like to get more done so we can switch up when we want so maybe use a few different colours from our pallette. Cheers man. Anyone else hoping for specific Game Hub pages at all? I mean I kick things off but will clearly need quite a bit of help to keep it in tiptop condition.

Possibly the Nurburgring Race track perhaps? Don't think i've really raced that at all. Maybe for one of the following weeks it would be good to go back to Kyoto but with Gr.3 cars. I think i'll struggle but faster cars on that winding track might make for plenty of passing and opportunities for an interesting race.
-
I just have to bite the bullet one day like you @Mikepjbell . Problem is, I just didn't expect to be really quick on Auto so I know i'll have to take a dip in performance for a while to get it right...but I just don't wanna! 😬🤣

One of the biggest tips this is. When we practice at the start of each race, I try to zone out and focus on my own sector times. You can change to see this in the bottom right hand corner by using right or left on the D-pad. By breaking the track down into sectors and using what Greebs says above it can make a huge difference. It also gives you mini goals to achieve as the Optimum time (OPT) is also shown so you know that if you put the best sectors together there is potentially to go faster because you genuinely have. You can't, even if it is hugely tempting. A race in GT SPort isn't won on the first corner, unlike some F1 races you see in real life. As you get more comfortable with the game you can start to focus on more things other than yourself, but never underestimate the importance of focusing on getting everything right in what you do, not others.

I think @Stretch616 got Arctis 7's? and he said they are ace. I'm really interested in the Steel Series now because £250 for a pair of Astro A50s, albeit its the elite headset to have, just seems to be such a huge amount of money to part with. Some of these are just over half the price but the quality always gets raved about. Let us know how you get on with them dude!

This is the key one I remember when i briefly tried in the past. My brain was like a 4 month old baby as it all went to mush when going into and around a corner. Thanks for the tips so far. I need to find a separate session to just practice it over and over to get the hang of it. I'll report back once I have some initial try outs.

Yeah...when i did, we didn't have a GT subforum....now we do so i'll update it now!🤣

I'm struggling to have a long enough window open atm because of shopping coming and new pups to watch over for the next few hours. I'm jumping online for a few FIFA games atm cos they're like 10 mins each but i can leave them easier than I can leave a raid. Gutted cos i wanted to raid at some point this week. If anything changes or i can get a bigger window then i'll jump straight in chat to help for sure.

Cheers all. I know most aren't into feedback and all that jazz but I really do appreciate it. Anything constructive too. We can't make our FG better if we don't know how everyone feels. Its a radical change but we've needed some of it for a while. It also means alot of space for scope because some things are technically 'unfinished' in my eyes so room for all your ideas and - hopefully - some type of support that you all feel like you can get involved in and do yourselves to make this place even better. In short: Brand New Homepage - better ways to not lose sight of the fact our place here is way more than just a forum now New Game Hubs Page New Patch Updates function - to be introduced for games of our choice Opens up more multiple pages of stuff to be added - which could be literally anything Merch updated with a few things we've previously ordered and know it works Brand new Polls page - wrapping up every poll across the entire site in one place Articles to be used as a place to better show off our FG game night stories - and everything else blog like and clearly loads more potential extra work went into to make the views work for desktop, tablet and mobile views Just keep talking up and sound off. Its been a great start to 2021 for FG with all the things going on so far; obviously i'm a little busy atm with 5 more little crazy ones to look after for a while but i'm doing what i can to make this year a fucking great one. Heres hoping theres some inspiration in there that you too want to jump on the bandwagon 🤠 (no horse and cart emoji, so you get a cowboy smile instead)

Oh wow! Nice Bob! No problem, I think we should still run them to help others - the ones you mentioned but also the ones that we know are around and what to do it but struggle with their time schedules and grouping up. I know Justin @FallenDark200 is struggling to get on for our sessions (I'm more about life manic things going on!) so I might put some on around 9 o'clock our time if you can also nudge Charlie @Venom to see if hes around to help get some done still?

Awesome thread Gary @techno , i've been meaning to check it out for a while. Shropshire below - Didn't take a picture of the Cottage but its in the middle of nowhere. Over 5 days we heard 10 cars pass by the lane and this was the farm lane that owned the cottage at the bottom with their house you can see at the top of the road in one of the pics. Beautiful scenery and only an hour away from where we live. I'll go back through my pics of last few years as I'm sure I have a few places around the UK that were amazing places to visit.
