Cyberpunk 2077 - First Impressions
GazzaGarratt replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in RPG / Action / Adventure
@AceBoogie239 @phil bottle Sometimes Reddit links embed the full post - and in black - which is frustrating to say the least. I've clicked to just paste the link as Travis wanted but also grabbed the juicy bit of text, made sure pics and videos embedded correctly from the thread and pasted below ๐: Hey CD Projekt Red, I think you shipped the wrong config on PC. Here's a guide that shows you how to "unlock" Cyberpunk for possibly massive performance improvements. Guide ๐ก Since I am a C# developer and very comfortable around configuration files, I figured it wouldn't hurt to take a look at the configuration files. And found something that I didn't believe. Please take a look at the above picture. This picture shows the configuration columns for each platform. PC, Durango, Orbis. (Durango & Orbis is what XBox & PlayStation run on). Now take a look at PoolCPU and PoolGPU. These values are the same as the other platforms. This looks off. So I decided to give it a try and just screw around with this config. So based off my rig I assigned some values that made a little more sense to me. I assigned 16GB (of RAM I guess) to my CPU and 11GB of my GPU's VRAM. And howdy cowboy, my i7 finally woke the fuck up and started kicking in second gear, now working at 85 - 95% CPU usage. My 1080Ti also now uses 230 Watts on avg instead of a sad 100W. Booted the game and et voila, I am now rocking a solid 60+ fps on: High Settings No Film Grain, No Ambient Occlusion, Lens Flare etc. 80 Fov 1440p My loading times have gone down from 20 seconds to 2. I can't put the emotion in words how I felt when I discovered this. It was something between disbelief, immense joy and confusion. I can confirm GOG patch 1.04 and Steam patch 1.04 have this borked configuration file. If you need guidance on what to assign in your config: PoolCPU: Use half of what your RAM is, make sure to leave 4GB for windows tho. PoolGPU: Google your graphics card on google and see how much VRAM it has. For example my EVGA 1080Ti has 11 GB GDDR5X, so I am entering 11GB. A fair bit of warning ๐ These changes can possibly crash your CyberPunk and Windows. I do not take any responsibility for any problems resulting from this. CyberPunk will complain that it crashed, even when you close it. This shouldn't matter too much though. Mileage may vary. I can't guarantee this will massively improve your performance, I can only say mine did a huge leap and the response from my friends has been very positive. If anybody is more familiar with the configuration I am touching, please let me know and I will adjust it. I am merely showing this around because it looks like a promising starting point for many who have weird performance issues. If this helped you, please let us know with a short comment how much your FPS and joystick ( อกยฐ อส อกยฐ) went up. Update: What we've learned. -

Cyberpunk 2077 - First Impressions
GazzaGarratt replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in RPG / Action / Adventure
Really good summary @AceBoogie239 . It was pretty obvious the hype over the past few years was somewhat going to hurt the game, I just didn't expect them to really hurt the launch this much after delaying the game 3,4,5 times - and as you say, it probably should've been delayed even further. @J4MES OX4D , I think it was only a matter of timebefore Angry Joe got on the wagon for this one. Easy touchdown for him. I'm looking forward to seeing the Cyberpunk world but I'll be managing my expectations after what most of you have said about how the game handles itself. -
Cyberpunk Apology and Refunds
GazzaGarratt replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in RPG / Action / Adventure
Whilst I lol'd at a response on Twitter to the apology that said 'Imagine if this was Bungie' which is another story entirely, I think there is a way to muddle through the crap that has followed this ambitiously well-hyped game. Concept = Great World Setting = The best possibly ever Ultra PC version = Great albeit fiddly with settings PS4/Xbox One version = Shambles and not acceptable Crunch Mentality = Not great although thats culture all over the world imo not just a gaming one It seems a game that without last gen promises and recent bad leaks about their culture, this game would be up at 95ish on metacritic. Whilst they felt they had to release eventually because of previous promises, they still could've saved face by saying last gen would have to release at a later date, or, never at all. The more I talk to you all it was never going to be a new defining genre in gaming, the hype was brought along by their last game, Witcher 3 and rightly so. The phrase 'You only as good as your last result' starts to spring to mind. I'd like to think this will still be a super game to runthrough even if its just another open world game because the setting, scenary and story is well worth it. Maybe we need to start to look at gaming in a different way moving forward if this has took 7 years in the making. Early access games and more of an acceptance of bugs could manage expectations of how gamers react. I'm not saying thats a good or bad thing, btw. -

Well done to Cal @TheMuggySpud who wins the Johnny Silverhand statue for December 14th! Well done mate! Enjoy ๐ -
CD Projekt Red publicly put out the following apology about the below sub-par PS4/Xbox One versions of the game and also advised that you can request for refunds via the normal procedure. I'm not sure this is going to save them from more criticism but what I do like is they address this situation front and centre which I think is a good move. Any thoughts if they should be taking a hammering on this one?

Well done Mike @Laidback Lankyman ! As you've won The Hunt from December 12th! Enjoy dude! ๐ -
The amount of Zombies are insane and the biggest thing i've noticed is that health can't be received via the usual methods of food. Therefore I started making First Aig Bandages for everyone as it looks like it gives you 60 health back, not 30. Health does regenerate but extremely slowly. Rich is spot on about night time, its just about sitting tight if i'm honest as theres so many zombies and they know exactly where you are too. I like that there is new things to learn and it seems like different things to craft, for example I had to make a Mortar and Pestle and this allows you to craft seeds from certain fruit but also saves on resources when trying to craft items which you can make from scratch. Nice little first outing on it. The levelling system will be something to get used to but i'm open to playing on it. I doubt will even need to think about PvP with the amount of shit going on - we don't even know the time as it looks like you have to craft watches at some point! It'll be good to get this going and hopefully one day we can get a number of our saves back up and running alongside each other so people have choices on what to play depending on the mood they're in.
-
100% agree with this Phil. Its like they're trying to change how Mourinho is seen in the public eye. He really isn't that defensive at all. He's just a tactical genius imo. He's getting the best out of Spurs and the football they do play far better than most teams in many pockets when i've watched.

In 2018, I set up the FG Awards as a way to recognise a few people within the FG family to say thank you for what they have done to help others. I hope that all will enjoy the awards and maybe start to hope one day they'll get one themselves. I feel proud we can do such things in a year which i know most would want to forget. I promised to have a good send off to 2020 and that's what we're gonna do below! Young FGer of the Year We've played years with him but its only over the last 6-12 months where we've able to really get him part of the group where he has shined through many raid completions on Destiny 2. Not standing for just making up the numbers either, he has been able to help many inexperienced FGers to their first raid clearance ever on Destiny and other more experienced folk to get their first ever clearances for newer raids when it was virtually at its hardest point. I can't wait for him to get more involved with everyone, as he has fantastic skills and extremely mature head on his shoulders that really helps explain even the most difficult scenario to most inexperienced team player. You should be real proud of that boy, Bob @Baabcat . Well done Charlie! Winner - @Venom - Charlie FG Noobie of the Year Its been a joy to have this guy around after joining FG in April and has embraced everything about what we are since. Getting involved on FG Fridays games, offering to be part of teams where possible to help achieve goals, putting his views across the entire of FG, including creating his own PPR for his trials and tribulations on PS Trophy hunting! He's always up to give anything a go and his positive attitude is what we've needed over such a turbulent year. FG is a better place with the small Welshman (who'd have thought it?). Well done Paul! Winner - @slamminbones - Paul FG Guardian Down Award The FG Awards wouldn't be awards without one being about making funny moments happen, even if they didn't intend it! When I think of every FG Friday this year, I always wanted to make sure he was there. He'll play some games even if he's propping the bottom of the leaderboard up, getting shotgunned in the face every 2 seconds, or getting smashed off the GTA track. His deadpan way of life is brilliant and we'd be lost without him to be honest. His love/hate relationship he has for games is just incredible as he will play through any type of crap to have fun with anyone here and that attitude and commitment you just can't buy. Don't ever change Gary. And thank you for all you do outside of this for FG. Always massively appreciated. Winner - @techno - Gary FG Archbishop of Banterbury This award was most jovial and joker of the pack this year. He's been in the FG Wilderness for a while now but since coming to the BIG FG meet up last October, we have been graced with his ever present glorious self in a multitude of colourful goop. He has a funny knack of being able to bring the fun whatever the occasion, in his sexy accent and possible beer smelling mouth. And even though he usually doesn't know what the hell is going on, I don't think this man doesn't ever not care about any FGer in this place. If he could, he'd do anything for you - and guaranteed to put a smile on your face via his 1 minute game videoclips of something completely random. We're extremely lucky to have you Cal! Winner - @TheMuggySpud - Cal FG Skills Award This could've gone to a few people this year. @Greboth still knocking it out the park in whatever he makes in Minecraft and Artwork, @Teenwolf25 and @FallenDark200 making strides in solo/2-man runthroughs on Destiny 2 activities and raids, @datfroggieguy 's capacity to eat all the camos and cod challenges for breakfast, @tronic44's clever base antics in 7 Days with everyone else chipping in.....the list just goes on. But for once, I see a guy who is relentless - and i mean utterly relentless - and finding enough clips of mini plays to cause anyone to go into full panic if we had to make him another montage video of just the past week (you should check his PPR out as its pretty darn amazing). He has a great attitude towards how to tackle certain challenges and shares what could work for people. I'm sure having his newly born premature daughter home for Christmas is a way better present than this could ever show, however Kenny's skills won't go unnoticed any longer! Top stuff, squire! Winner - @IRaMPaGe - Kenny FGer of the Year When I can't do stuff around here, it gets to me. And i've learned that even myself can lean on people even when I didn't need to. Not just keeping FG going, but moving it forward to something even more can enjoy in a year that we'd all want to forget is remarkable really. He's helped out massively with under the hood stuff, like moderation, donations, game days/nights, event creation...more than you people will realise. But above all, he's a geniune man that wants us as a family to achieve all the things we want to, on a personal and family level. He'll always be interested in what you have to say and probably felt like he's sacrificed many years of his life to this place in doing so! Like FG isn't the same with most of you all being around, it certainly isn't FG if Phil isn't around. Thanks for all that you do Phil, you sir a gent and a Legend. Winner - @phil bottle - Phil FG Hall of Fame Each year I try to honour the achievements of people in the FG family that will show on paper, not just in real life that they will always be FG no matter what and rightly should be invited into the Hall of Fame. He is outspoken, volatile, random, hilarious, caring, hilarious, OTT, crazy and damn right impossible not to love (trust me, i've tried many times). It was never going to go much longer until this chap got into this because he built the foundations of FG. He built what why we're all here in the first place. When you realise at first hand the stuff I see in what's involved in everything that FG does, its incredible that we even started to exist in the first place. He lights up the room when he comes online, he even makes people laugh on the amount of times he then leaves the controller for his 53rd Poo of the night. But we wouldn't change him. And neither should anyone as that what we get with Diddums, right? Dave, thank you for all that you have done and also continue to do for FG. It never goes unnoticed in my book. Winner - @Diddums - Dave And with that, we're done! 2020 has been a dick of a year. But you're all here. We're all together, fighting the good fight and i'm sure 2021 will bring the best out in FG. GGFG

Happy 16th birthday again @Dylanimo16 . The only boy never to grow old! Enjoy it, geeza ๐๐๐บ

Love them Tom @LordBaguette , thanks for sharing as I didn't know they were all out now. They all look way better than I initially feared so gives me a good reason to keep the Disney subscription going now. I actually really love the Loki one. Seems like a new storyline from another universe could start from it.

Now that is super impressive Harold @Spacedeck , like super impressive. The different shades of red on the Horde side is amazing and it must have been so hard to work out how to make that side of the flag torn at certain places. Awesome work mate. Looking forward to your next idea now! @Diddums @Middle Class Caveman @Bluebear and @Rumelylady - though you would appreciate the WoW reference and skills Harold's used here.

Subscribed to both. Do you still use that standalone launcher?

@phil bottle C R O S S P L A Y coming in 2021 As long as there's protection and opting out of lobbying up with PC players in PvP land like there is in Warzone this should make many people super happy. Plus, I love loot being tied to higher activities. I wanted a little more than just a Seal to go for Grandmaster Nightfalls.
