Hey there, I was looking for a UK-based gaming community until I stumbled upon FG. I'm a very casual PC gamer now apart from the Christmas holidays when I get to hibernate for a couple of weeks. Usually play competitive games like LoL, COD etc. Played very hardcore back in the day especially WoW and Rainbow Six Siege. Just looking for some mature friendly people to share some games with online. Always enjoy a more organised coordinated approach to my competitive games (as well as just some laughs and giggles). I'm a pretty private person so won't say much more but look forward to getting to know some of you over voice comms at some point. Also a lifelong MMA and Arsenal fan so hit me up for any sports chat.

GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas look to be officially on the way

Sounds pretty easy, your almost on the home straight. Yeah very true, double XP is always nuts for leveling guns.

GTA Definitive Edition has arrived on mobile and it's actually better than the current gen versions. Dare I say it actually looks good with far better colours and lighting and much more in-line with the originals

Pistols, marksman and battle rifles and that emp gun oh and the knives 12 more and I can move onto priceless. Tbh with all the active double xp it's easy to rank stuff up at the moment.

The GTA Defective Edition trilogy has been added silently to Steam with very little fanfare. No update(s) since March 2022 but they did manage to fix the spelling errors caused by AI generation, some missing textures, character models, other visual bugs plus they added the haze effect to mask the draw distance scaling. Currently £27 from £55 which is disgusting really. These are mobile ports made by a fringe studio that used AI to generate the city and borrowed assets from Unreal. Such a disgrace!

If youre comparing these two and others out atm, then BF2042 really isn't a bad buy at all. Looks like you don't get anything new for your money on this port.

Word seems to be coming out that the games are basically mobile ports with the exception of GTA 3 which looks better than the original PS2 version but WORSE than Liberty City Stories on the PSP handheld😂 Also seems they used an AI to generate the text which explains all the horrendous spelling errors. Be interested to see how the did things like pictures and character models. The most telling thing about this is how lazy they are - they didn't do anything by hand and it's no more than a mobile port-rip. The amount of high quality mods that died for these games is tragic and Rockstar probably could've hired gamers to recreate these instead of some shitty mobile developer to do a quick cash grab. I'm am over the moon I didn't buy into this trash. Now I have to think about what to do with BF2042...

Yeah, I feel for anyone who paid for this. I tried out San Andreas on gamepass and laughed my arse off at how poor some of it is. They could have done so much with those games but they palmed it off for a quick buck.

The files have now been removed and the game is playable once more plus the RSC services are normal. Absolute shit show though and refunds should have been given across the board.

Just seen online that the PC version has been unplayable for 3 days, not sure how much of that is true?

They spelled 'Welcome' wrong in the very first cutscene of Vice City Now this is a game that is worthy of the Definitive Edition name

Burger Shot has pictures of nachos and tacos pulled from Google in the Definitive Edition. The pizza counter has pictures of hotdogs🤣 Compare that to the original which also has reflective floors...

Some people are saying that they pulled the wool over most people's eyes because the trailer didn't show any gameplay off and that isn't in a great space. Who has it here to say how its going so far?

From what I've read about this it's just a lazy cash grab from TakeTwo/Rockstar.

Rockstar Social Club has been down for around 24 hours so PC players have been unable to play the game. Absolute shitty DRM and I wouldn't dream of getting the game unless it was purely ran through Steam. Hopefully when Rockstar have stopped counting the cash, they'll deal with it. Terrible advertisement for the RSC though and it's no wonder people don't trust non-established clients like this shit.

Song list released - doesn't appear to be many omitted from the originals which is a surprise and a few unconfirmed whether they are in the game or not based on early footage but on the whole, excellent news! From what I've seen today of San Andreas footage I've gone from probably checking it out for the lols to actually being interested in playing it.

These are legit - looks like they've done an excellent job with Vice City.

Yeah I've seen some with shadows and raytracing on the car exteriors that look great but clearly not the new upgrades, and I agree, the music is essential to the experience!

My biggest worries is the music licences - the radio stations are some of the most iconic and memorable aspects of these games and if songs are removed then it will kill off a lot of the spirit of these games. I'm also a bit iffy about the cartoony characters in Vice City although they do look good in San Andreas. A lot of fake footage going around - it's mostly existing mods which Rockstar shut down. Shame because some of the work that has gone into these have been absolutely extraordinary and will still likely upstage the Definitive Editions.

I don't expect them to be particularly great over the originals but you never know. San Andreas is free on game pass (console only lol) so I have it pre-loaded to check it out.

Looks like they'll be out in December for a whopping £70/$70 whilst the old versions are being removed from their respective digital stores. I was expecting £34.99 at a push - even the PS4 one is £60. Mafia's Definitive edition which included a brand new game cost £49.99 tops. This is another ridiculous cash grab so the gameplay actually better have a significant upgrade to even remotely justify it. GTA: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition will cost $70, physical versions coming December – report WWW.VG247.COM Rockstar may be ready to push Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition as a premium title, and boxed version may be coming in December.

Vice city was the first game I completed, I also finished it on psp too, still one of not my favourite story/ campaign. Id like to see both remastered on a modern engine as Phil says.

If they put the games on a modern engine that would be interesting but if its just an airbrush over to make it 4K or whatever, you can already have that on PC. Pointless. But yes @GazzaGarratt like @J4MES OX4D said, the stories are magnificent if you've never played them. Vice City and San Andreas are both brilliant and both so different. Best radio stations as well 😁

None of the games have online play but each one comes with a magnificent standalone story. Vice City and San Andreas will definitely go down in videogame folklore.

Will it come with online play? I didn't really play these at all so not close to the story and whats in each game.
