Hi everyone, Welchy here, I’m new to the site, stumbled across when looking for gaming communities where I can talk about video games! I tend to play a lot of single player games as I don’t have too many friends who are also into video games. The struggle is I am very passionate about games and love to talk about them, hence why I am here! Look forward to chatting to you all 🙂

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I play a pretty wide variety, my favourite game of all time is God of War / God of War Ragnarok, but then I’ve also played and enjoyed games like Sea of Stars and Cocoon this year! Multiplayer wise not as much as I would like but I dabble on Halo Infinite, FIFA (or EA Sports FC now), Fortnite etc I have PS5, Xbox Series X and a Nintendo Switch. PS5 is my console of choice but Xbox Game Pass sees me spending a lot of time on the Xbox!

I remember that! Delta Force was the first MP game I ever experienced, I think. Could be wrong though, that was 10 years of gaming which was so full of blurry lines in my heads it's all just mush. Forgot about Unreal Tournament too, absolutely loved that game. M-M-M-MONSTER KILLLLLL!!!!

Chad @Riff Machine said that Sea of Stars is the on point so may pick it up around Christmas. Hoping the crossplay will help us even more now it feels way more accessible than it used to be...Gamepass can be tempting but I do think its spoiled games like Starfield.

I forgot about Delta Force which is kinda dumb as I've been following the upcoming new game just this week🤣 Another one is Operation Flashpoint which eventually would become Arma.

Delta Force: Task Force Dagger on the PC! I also had the cardboard insert that you could put over your keyboard to help know what keys were which, so cool back then 😄

Just generic forum post, what is the first FPS you guys played? Mine was the first ghost recon on PC

The 4th game is quite cutscene heavy plus it drags on massively towards the end. Still a great game but you have to be in the right mood to experience it. The trilogy are much better games overall - probably 6-10 hours and although they still focus on the story, it's not quite as prominent. Uncharted 4 took me about 25 hours and long before the end it began to outsay its welcome despite impressing in places.

Unreal Tournament on a mate's PC but yeah probably Goldeney on N64 was just before that. First game I would describe as a modern type FPS for me though is Black, on PS2.

Last night in game chat I said it was Unreal Tournament 2004, thinking about it after it may well have been Turok on the gamecube. My brother got it for christmas and I'm fairly sure we used to play that together but I can't really remember it. So UT2004 would be the first one I properly got into, we used to have a few custom servers so one where we would fight waves of enemies that got tougher and tougher till you died but we gained xp to buy and upgrade weapons after each round.

I played every single one of those.

Oppenheimer. I lasted 34 minutes before giving up. What a load of shite.

Wolfenstein, spent absolutely insane amount of hours on that game. Others were Doom, Quake, Rise of the Triad, Heretic, Duke Nukem and tons more.

Doom 1993 when I played it in 1995 on my old IBM Aptiva. From then on it was the usual suspects of Doom II, Final Doom, Heretic, Hexen, Duke Nukem, Quake, Unreal, GoldenEye, Half Life, Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 Arena, Medal of Honour: Allied Assault, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Perfect Dark, Counter Strike, Project IGI, SWAT 3, No One Lives Forever, Kingpin, Battlefield 1942, Call of Duty, Halo etc.. Crazy to think how FPS games evolved within a 10 year period back then and the sheer variety available. Going from Doom to Half Life in just 5 years was nuts although as I was younger, five years felt like an eternity. You also had some iconic first person immersive sims like the ground-breaking Deus Ex and System Shock 2. I still have quite a few of the big boxed PC games in storage although everything after 2001 was DVD cases.

it's almost definitely the chronicles of riddick escape from butcher bay that came with the 7800gtx on my first pc, before that i only cared about rts games
