It says at launch not throughout the lifecycle of the game, it would be so funny if they flipped the switch once people had bought the game.🤔

  3. Loved the first game but the second i swerved as it changed what was good about the original, with floaty parkour and they also nerfed night-time. This looks like a return to form.

I played 3 matches on the Beta today. It's Advance Warfare named B07. Wall jumping, double jump, OCD movement. I'm not going to be playing that shit Guess they didn't get the memo last time about that movement non sense

I did pick this up, but I'm trying to finish Ghost of Yotei first. I'm actually shocked the file size wasn't as big as I thought. Now, I will read the rest of this thread. Lol. Sorry, I've been MIA like a mudda fugga. 🤪

Too late in the day really. It's only because Battlefield 6 exists and Activision's 'too big to fail' statement is coming back to bite them. They will re-apply SBMM gradually and call it 'matmaking calibration considerations' or some other corpo drivel and it'll the the same old story. Probably happen a week after release too in typical bait and switch form.

  10. You joke about it and whether or not it is another topic of conversation but I suspect we will see it go round full circle. Digital is great and conveniant and has been for some time however as prices of all these subscriptions increase and mount up they won't hold their appeal forever. We are seeing it now with people returning to vinyl with music again, people also like to own things.

  13. It gets worse. I have it for free because of Game pass which I will cancel once my price goes up. But it was just sitting there waiting to be played yesterday when I looked so I figured I would give it a go. Time would have been better spent watching reruns of Mr Bean for the 30th time

I miss the days when developers would just throw all the content in day one and people would be happy playing for months. This seasonal shite is so tiresome now.

  15. This looks much better and I think it's free to all owners of Dying Light 2 premium. I don't think I'll be paying £50 though so I will wait for a sale. The original was iconic but I never got round to the second one as they made some foolish mistakes and it took them 2-3 years to fix them to a degree. Even then, it didn't look like it was anywhere near as good as the original which has aged like fine wine and I still regard that as having one of the best atmospheres in gaming. It's an incredible deal if you can play this for free though!

Compared to what though? Does my shotgun shoot in waves? does my pistol turn into a grenade? Do I have to listen to Villains talk like drunk white frat boys attempting to sound like hip hop artists? BL1 had a solid balance IMO of gimmicky weapons, and dialogue that was funny. IDK man, these games are clearly not for me, I'm going to go yell at kids on my lawn

  17. Now added to Steam. It's free, so its getting a lot of people playing. Good game, not bad for a Tarkov rip off to be fair and they've dialled back the pay to win elements, which is nice.

  20. The first football manager video game came out in the early 80s on ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 and was recently re-made for mobile.... and completely under my radar was also released on Steam last month. I played it when I was 10 years old 😍 It costs £4.99 and I've bought it to play on SteamDeck. Expecting nostalgia to take over when I try it out in a bit. I loved the original, so let's see if I can take York City back to the 1st Division 🫠

    Battlefield 6

I am having a lot of fun with this game, it's not quite old Battlefield but it's got some of the good aspects of it. Firestorm is one of my least enjoyed maps purely because of the snipers sitting on the fekkin tower. I think they should increase the bullet drop on sniper's to add some more skill to them and that would probably help resolve my gripes with it. Generally the maps are pretty good, I really like Manhattan with the bridge and generally the gameplay is pretty good, I am finishing in the top 4 or 5 spaces most matches so I haven't lost my edge with the Battlefield games which is always a plus. I have not used tanks as much as I did on the past few games either. I think you can see a lot of COD players on the game, the way they move, the lack of utilising the classes, videos online moaning about mines and such and there is often a lack of thinking about how you play, understanding that taking bases closer to enemy HQ in some game modes pulls enemies towards them allowing your team to recapture bases and such. In addition I have also been playing with map editor, it's a bit fiddly but I am getting used to it and despite it's crudeness in terms of just plonking objects down I had my first map published last night so I can now host it in portal. I have every intention to try and create some smaller COD influenced maps just for FG use and maybe we could get them going on FG Friday's if anyone's interested?

    Battlefield 6

I grabbed this in the end and they made some good changes since the beta. It's been quite an enjoyable weekend with no real server problems or any major complaints. Not sure how much staying power the game will have with this pool of maps but there is just about enough content and stuff to do. The progression and unlock system is a carbon-copy of Call of Duty and the gunplay seems a mix of COD and BF. This is definitely the easiest Battlefield game I have ever played and any experienced FPS player will absolutely shred most of the time. The maps are all decent enough but the bigger ones really shine. The New York ones are decent too and hopefully we'll see naval and more snow ones coming up. Operation Firestorm feels off though and a bit unbalanced which is a shame though. Game runs pretty well which is a bonus too!

  23. I saw when he made it initially in beta for free to download but I was worried it would take the shine off the golden old days! Let us know how you get on Philly 😎 Soccer Rivals was the one me and @Findmartin played to death on my Amstrad CPC 464. A board game styled management game, loved every minute of it!

  25. Well this was inevitable and will likely be one of many breaches thanks largely to half arsed 3rd party verification companies being targeted after the UK's embarrassing implementation of their online safety act ID photos of 70,000 users may have been leaked, Discord says WWW.BBC.CO.UK The platform says hackers targeted a firm that helped to verify the ages of its users. Never give away any personal information because you never know where it will end up or how it'll be used. Consequences may not be realised and it could take years to be discovered if at all.

5/10 for the campaign and I must admit, that's actually higher than I was expecting. Battlefield 6 Campaign Review - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Battlefield 6's campaign is a safe, dull reimagining of what the series once was, rather than a bold reinvention of what it could be. Probably shouldn't have bothered with it really. I also don't understand why they take this half-baked direction and have done since BF1. Just like MW3 2023, it's just generic and has no substance. Not even sure how developers concoct such pointless shit.

Activision have fucked themselves with this one as it's shown that they're lying pricks. They put out those documents about their matchmaking process and they claimed that ping is king. This reduced skill matchmaking system shows that isn't the case at all. It's now 100% obvious that skill takes precedent over anything else when matchmaking.

Treyarch added a classic matchmaking playlist where skill was only used minimally and it was absolutely fantastic. Getting into a game took a few seconds and it didn't feel like you were getting screwed by the matchmaking system if you did well, plus I was always in lobbies with a ping of around 9ms rather than it jumping between 9ms and 40ms. It was actually fun. It shows just how ridiculous SBMM is in this COD and how the system will prioritise skill over connection. Hopefully they'll use that system going forward but I doubt it. If they remove it then they're fucked IMO as they've shown players how the game could play if it wasn't for their SBMM system so those players just won't get the game.

  37. Got an email the other week. Reebok have created 3 different unique Playstation 1 styled trainers, one for each region. UK Version US Version Japan Version I actually really like the US Version way more than the others, shame we can't get them over here! Does any of these jump out for anyone else? Should be available mid October to buy.

  39. I have nosed at game pass recently there are a few games on there I could quite happily play and may still pick up (not ultimate mind). That said you can see that there must be issues behind the scenes financially with everything they produce at the moment going up and up in price, I do think that with some of their recent acquisitions they must not have made anywhere near the amount of money they needed to, to justify the purchases. That said if Sony keep their subscription as is I can see it really pushing Microsoft's Xbox side of things further down the crapper.

Thankfully Bf6 will sort out my FPS this year as Bo7 looks like dog egg. To me it looks worse than bo6. Also everything I've heard of seen from CoD next looks so fake, they have no interest in the game it came across as one of these generic infomercials that's trying to sell crap to idiots. 🤣

  43. They are blaming the tarriff's, but they are made predominantly in China aren't they? So I get the arguement then for raising prices in the US but not elsewhere. I suspect this is more that they are not making as much money from the consoles as they had hoped, they don't seem to understand that it is solely their fault. I mean everyone enjoys an era where games are more open and available on all consoles but the only first party stuff Microsoft has made since the launch of these consoles is flight simulator & Gears of war remastered remastered for a second time. There is no reason in today's world to buy an xbox console as far as I can see, to sell a product it still need's to have something that makes it stand out from competitors and they just don't have that. They have completely bottle this era, I mean Sony have not done a good job but Microsoft just blew them out of the water.

You can't play for more than 30 minutes without the framerate taking a nosedive on consoles. The solution? Restart your game 🤣 There is absolutely no way in hell that Gearbox didn't know this was an issue before release. Unless they didn't play test their own game.

Randy Pitchfork making a complete tit of himself as usual. He stated to expect performance issues and when people start complaining having bought the game about the woeful problems that were far worse than he remotely suggested, he takes it out on the customers. There's people reportedly getting under 60fps on 5090's. 'Code Your Own Engine and Show Us How It's Done' — Randy Pitchford Goes on the Offensive as Borderlands 4 PC Performance Row Intensifies - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Randy Pitchford is on the offensive when it comes to Borderlands 4 PC performance, responding directly to complaints on social media to Claptrap back at disgruntled fans.
