  1. Neither is a few things that Sky Sports shows but I think it has got an opportunity it's missing. Watching games is becoming increasingly popular and the prize pots for some tournaments are fantastic. Advertisements would be snapped up in my opinion. People argue Poker, Darts and WWF are sports so I don't see gaming being any different.
  2. 6th September - Weekly Destiny Reset info Find out the full list below: Weekly Nightfall Cerberus Vae 3 is this week’s strike with Void burn, Berserk, Brawler, and Airborne. You get one if you finish a full game in the weekly Crucible playlist, and another when you complete a game of Level 41 Prison of Elders. If you’re wondering about the contents of these treasure chests, you don’t have to. King’s Fall raid challenge Oryx is your challenger this week in the raid. Remember last time for Oryx fragment for the Year 2 MoT.
  3. I don't see why the main sports channels are snapping up these events yet. It would have quite a lot of views from the couch against the streamers.
  4. That's awesome Steve! When this is done, make sure to share the 'How To' guide for us wannabe DIY people that would love to have this. I would absolutely have that ET game. Didds shorts wouldn't be your type Euan
  5. We are all here for you mate. Like always.
  6. I'm having a go tonight and then we'll see where it takes us.
  7. Not a problem Rob, I just personally found an alternative to the pips as they can look bland to some people. What's great about it is they can be changed back in a matter of minutes. If more people want to share their view and have them changed back or to something else I'm more than happy to look at it. I'm totally not precious about them in any form.
  8. They are coming out with significant free DLC (called that out on another thread) and trying to move on. I feel it's another Division - Great concept, Poor execution. Mind you, this is only from the outside, if the game significantly drops value I'll pick it up and try it out.
  9. Here's what's been uncovered so far including new classes, guns perks and a few other new features: Infinite Warfare new classes are called Rigs There are six Rigs that seem to offer a pre-set range of weapons, perks and loadouts. It's hard to see in the video but there are definitely some sniper-like and heavy options and one appears to be a robot. Infinite Warfare's guns Most of Infinite Warfare's guns seem to be a familiar looking take on futuristic assault rifles, SMG, Snipers, LMGs and some slightly more fanciful heavy options. Assault rifles NV4, R3K, KBAR-32, Type-2, Volk SMGs Erad, FHR40, Karma-45, RPR Evo, HVR LMGs R.A.W., Mauler, Titan Sniper rifles KBS longbow, EBR-000 Heavy weapons Reaver, DCM-8, Banshee Infinite Warfare's perks Most of these perks are familiar from previous games with only Pin Point and Momentum causing a few head scratches. Current theories are suggesting Pin Point could be a Toughness/Focus replacement, and Momentum either Marathon/Extreme Conditioning or Afterburner analogue. Infinite Warfare's map now shows height and call outs More screenshots suggests Infinite Warfare's new map will show different heights, suggesting more verticality in multiplayer. It also shows call outs, so player-triggered messages to point at areas that need attention mid-match. ------------------------------------ My mobile won't let me link pics at the right spots but there's some good info on here.
  10. I needed to check to make sure I was outside the right bushes Phil...obviously not from where you put yours!
  11. I like the idea of red to match the logo. I'll have a look at the colours over the next few days.
  12. Rob is kindly looking into a banner with the logo on it to see if it looks better. Thanks to Didds for updating the theme. Minor tweaks to the theme will continue, please keep sharing through the improvements thread anything else you'd like to have.
  13. Weekend additions: Member Map - can add city/county location to your profile via Map. Profile sync will come once I have an update New Group signs Rank system now has 22 signs instead of 3. We now have Military signs instead of standard pips Social Links updated with exception of Google+
  14. Hi Moe, welcome to FG! Looking forward to the Rise of Iron update?
  15. Ok. So this trailer comes with a warning. It's one of the most explicit trailers I've seen in a long time. The game has been funded through kickstarter and was shown at PAX this weekend. I just don't know what to think of it to be honest.
  16. You should all see a Member Map within your options on PC and Mobile. You can now add your location and it will link to show you on the map. This is something I wanted to create one day, but I stumbled across this and it works brilliantly. You should be able to update your location on your profile e.g. London or London, UK and it will pick it up. However, I currently think to make it stick you just need to add your location on the member map screen. Its really easy and I think it's a nice little addition. If I find a way of adding automatically where everyone is from their profiles I will, but please add your location like me and Rich have so far! Oh, and you can also change what the map looks like (i can even add more overlays and whatnot!) Please share what your thoughts. Cheers, Lee
  17. I didn't play this online back then but I take your point. Apart from a little nostalgia it doesn't seem massively worth it. Personally this was way back when campaign mode was all the rage but again I don't see how much value I'd get out of that right now.
  18. Yeah, that is a good one Bob. I just found that quite difficult for me because once you got there you couldn't really play anything as it might tip you over the edge. That's why I chose not to use edging much in the past.
  19. Thanks for Plumbrodders for the find. Planet Destiny's guide to the first things you should do and also prepare for RoI. ---------------------------- Specific Gear & Weapons My number one objective in Rise of Iron is to get a God Roll version of Dead Orbit’s new shotgun, the Last-Ditch 001. It’s the same archetype as the beloved Matador 64, and you can watch gameplay with it in this video that shows off its deadliness. I want this shotgun because I normally use a shotgun in Trials of Osiris and need to remain competitive. I’m also considering getting into tournament play. Now, I know only a small portion of the player base will be entering tournaments, and maybe you don’t even play PvP. If that’s your case, you don’t need a Last-Ditch. However, each of you may have a reason to want a different weapon or a different piece of gear. Maybe you’re a fusion rifle guy, or maybe you think the New Monarchy helmet looks super cool. If you have your eyes set on even just one faction item, and you want that item as fast as possible, there are things you can do prior to the DLC dropping to increase your chances of that getting that item early on, which I’ll explain. Preparation Without the ability to reroll perks, the only way to get a God Roll on this shotgun or another item you want is to earn and open as many faction packages as possible. The more packages you open, the more opportunities you have to obtain your preferred item, the more opportunities you have to roll godly perks. To get these packages you need to accumulate 2500 reputation with a faction. You can do this by trading in Motes of Light, Armour Parts, Weapon Parts, or Special and Heavy Ammo Syntheses. To get the most packages, you want to stock up on the items that give you the most reputation per cost. Two currencies that most players have a surplus of are Glimmer and Strange Coins. To get each additional rank, meaning the 2500 rep it takes to level a faction, it would cost you 25 Glimmer buying Weapon Parts, 40 Glimmer buying Special Ammo Syntheses, or 38 Glimmer buying Heavy Ammo Syntheses. Therefore, any excess Glimmer you accumulate should be spent on stacking Weapon Parts to optimize how many packages you can open on September 20th. The other currency is Strange Coins. It would cost 10 Strange Coins to earn 100 reputation through the Motes of light method, but only 1.33 Strange Coins for the same 100 reputation via Heavy Ammo Syntheses. Therefore, when you have spare Strange Coins, always burn them on Heavy Ammo Syntheses to optimize your reputation gains. Higher Light Level With the raid being released only 3 days after RoI drops, I’ll be doing everything I can to get my light as high as possible from Tuesday to Thursday. In previous expansions, you could immediately purchase higher level gear from vendors using Vanguard/Crucible/Legendary Marks. There’s a possibility we can expect to get some kind of Light boost through purchasing gear from vendors and opening faction packages. Preparation There are many ways to get Legendary Marks: Daily Story Chapters, Weekly Heroic Strikes, Daily PVP Activities, Weekly PVP Activities, Dismantling Year Two Legendary items After that, there are a few things you can do to effectively exceed the cap by saving up beforehand. The most effective way to do this would be to complete, but not hand in, the Trials of Osiris bounties on all three characters this weekend. This is the last weekend for Trials and you can save 2 bounties worth 25 Marks each. If you do this on all three characters, you’ll have an additional 150 Marks ready to be redeemed. Next, fill your vault with purple gear and weapons. Ideally, if the vendor gear is higher than 335 light, you would spend X amount of Marks on a pair of boots, dismantle legendary gear to hit the cap again, buy a chest piece, and the repeat for the helmet, gauntlets and whatever else you can get your hands on to immediately increase your light level. Getting an early start is critical, because we know in the past that your current light level has had an impact on the light level of your drops (court of Oryx for example). So the higher light you are before you start participating in the new content, the higher drops you will get, the quicker you’ll reach 385 light. Cryptarch Packages When Bungie developers were asked if we should hang onto Exotic Engrams, the developers smiled and opted to not answer the question. This might imply that they have something up their sleeve. Regardless of whether or not pre-DLC engrams can return new gear after RoI drops, there is still an incentive to stock up on these. At best, they might actually give you new exotics at higher light levels. At worst, they’ll rank up your Cryptarch. As you know, when your Cryptarch rank is leveled up, you get new engrams. These engrams, because they are received after the expansion drops, may turn into Rise of Iron gear and potentially increase your Light. Preparation We discussed saving legendary gear for the purpose of hording Legendary Marks. If you run out of space, prioritize engrams over weapons and gear. This is because engrams will get you post-DLC Cryptarch packages, but also turn into the same Legendary Marks that your already decoded gear will turn into. Summary This is a quick summary of the main points to take away from this article if you’re interested in rushing to maximum light before the raid and/or want to increase your chances at getting God Roll gear and weapons quickly: Extra Glimmer? Buy Weapon Parts. Extra Strange Coins? By Heavy Ammo Synths from Xur. Make sure you hit the cap of 200 Legendary Marks. Complete, but do not hand in your Trials bounties that provide Legendary Marks on all of your characters. Save all legendary gear to be dismantled post-DLC. If you run out of space, prioritize engrams. Ultimately, the most important thing is to enjoy the expansion in whichever way you prefer. Whether you’re like me and race to the finish, or you’re a “stop and smell the roses” kind of Guardian, I’ll see you out there on the 20th of September.

  21. Thank God she didnt win! That would've been the world going crazy yet again. ---------------------------------------------------------- The lawsuit Lindsey Lohan filed against Rockstar for allegedly using her likeness in Grand Theft Auto 5 has been dismissed by the New York County Supreme Court. Back in 2014 Lohan sued Rockstar as she accused the company of making a character, Lacey Jonas, who was an "unequivocal" reference to the Mean Girls star. Jonas, like Lohan, is a blonde movie star with an eating disorder. In one of the game's side-missions the player is asked to escort her home so she can avoid the paparazzi. The character's portrayal, as seen in the video below, is less than flattering. Lohan also believed that a promotional image for the game depicting a woman blonde woman in a bikini making a peace sign was based on a picture of her making the same gesture in a swimsuit. "Lohan argues that defendants purposefully used Lohan's bikini, shoulder-length blonde hair, jewelry, cell phone, and 'signature peace sign' pose' in one image, and used Lohan's likeness in another image by appropriating facial features, body type, physical appearance, hair, hat, sunglasses, jean shorts, and loose white top," the complaint read. Lohan wasn't the only one suing Rockstar for allegedly basing a character off of them. Mob Wives star Karen Gravano likewise took legal action against the game developer claiming that Rockstar cribbed her story of being a mobster's daughter afraid of the repercussions of her father aligning himself with the government. A similar setup was true of GTA5 character Andrea Bottino, whose father won't let her be on a reality TV show, just as the real Gravano was publicly criticised by her father for being on a reality TV show. Gravano further believed that the Bottino character utilised her "image, portrait, voice, and likeness". The court did not find the evidence damning enough to warrant either of these cases. Rather it ruled that both complaints "must fail because defendants did not use [plaintiffs'] name, portrait, or picture'". More specifically, neither Lohan or Gravano appeared in the game (in video or photograph form), nor were their names ever uttered in either the game or its marketing. There's more. The court alleged that even if the fictitious characters were based on Lohan and Gravano, a video game is a work of fiction and thus falls outside the statutory definitions of "advertising" or "trade" so the plaintiffs' complaints that their likeness was used to sell a product didn't hold up. In the US, video games are offered the same First Amendment protection as books, plays and movies. "Video games communicate ideas," the court ruled in the famous Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association trial, in which mature video games were in danger of being banned from minors (as opposed to the current system where a ratings board merely suggests an age range and retailers are only encouraged to comply by these). "This video game's unique story, characters, dialogue, and environment, combined with the player's ability to choose how to proceed in the game, render it a work of fiction and satire," the court ruled of GTA5. As such, both Lohan or Gravano's cases were dismissed.
