  1. Yet another great update incoming to Wreckfest and I think this one has some great features, especially the brand new Wrecking Track! Patch info from BugBear below: HIGHLIGHTS New tournament: Wrecking Madness New free Wrecking Playground environment New Speedbird GT tournament reward car New Extreme damage mode Improvements and fixes We're excited to announce a new tournament, and this time it's something that's going to blow your socks off! In 2013, we released the seminal tech demo "Sneak Peek" that gave you the first taste for Wreckfest (back then modestly called Next Car Game) and set the standard for our future endeavors. That was almost eight years ago, and now we're giving you the chance to relive the glory of that very tech demo! That's right - this update includes a new free track Wrecking Playground that's basically the tech demo environment reimagined, vastly expanded, improved and brought up to contemporary standards, not to mention that it's now available on all platforms. Not only that, but we also implemented a new tech demo inspired Extreme damage mode that cranks the visual damage knob all the way to 11 and disables gameplay health so you only get wrecked when you lose two or more wheels and the car is inoperable. The tournament is themed around the Wrecking Playground environment, with the monthly event challenging you to score points by wrecking your car, destroying objects and getting airtime. To make sure you can really go to town with vehicular destruction, resetting the car will repair it instantly. The weeklies are timed events in which you need to collect the special Bugbear coins littered around the level as quickly as possible. And of course, since any tech demo remake wouldn't quite be the same without the iconic Speedbird with Next Car Game livery we're bringing it too back as a tournament reward. And the best part? Wrecking Playground and the accompanying Extreme damage mode are both available in multiplayer as well. As a special trick, whenever the game mode is set to deathmatch or team deathmatch and damage mode to Extreme, single player or multiplayer, resetting will instantly repair the car just like in the tournament events so you can get the full Wrecking Madness experience with your friends as well! As a standard practice, this release also contains a number of additional enhancements and bug fixes such as improved anti-aliasing and performance on PlayStation 5. We invite you to check out the release notes below for a complete summary of items fixed or improved upon. As always, thanks for all the feedback and please keep it coming! Let's start wrecking! 2. Here it is. The 33 whittled down to 26. A lotof talent involved this time round and I have a genuine excitement that we can do well - hopefully as well last time out. Henderson picked for experience and support for the team I think over form and Bellingham in for experience for future competitions, although he has a great chance if we need stability in an out and out midfielder cos there isn't many of them in that squad. I think Watkins was probably my only disappointment based on his recent form, but its not that much of a shock tbh. Ready for the over-hyped glory as always? Of course we are! #FootballsComingHome Thoughts?
  3. If we are using manufacturers, what's happening to all the others that turn up? Are they allowed free reign over all cars because they'll be in the championship too but just with whoever turns up first? Rather know now before we nudge people and they ask what they are supposed to be using 👍
  4. You got some skillz there mate! Very nice and something to be proud of as I doubt many could make them from scratch.
  5. Thing is, I absolutely agree with you on this John, so what would stand them in good stead for the rest of the year is straightforward early communications about what is to be expected. Comms that doesn't say much isn't hugely helpful, so whilst I think its good they don't get pinned down on a date for this first big update, they equally have to be transparent with what to expect over the next 6 months at least - just confirming how many updates they expect to get out before the end of the year helps us understand when and how much time to dedicate to the game. Things that we'd also need to know and be open about is what impact it has to the existing worlds. You never know, we might have to start again (something that feels painful, but also a regular occurrence in survival games).
  6. This is frickin awesome! Finally they are making changes which we felt that should've been there from the start. Tom, is this update actually live right now? I can't seem to find anything else online to confirm when we can start using it.
  7. Please Phil, that would be ace. I'll see what's happening this weekend and the next one. I should have time and i'll shout you here just in case anyone else wants to try it out and do the same performance tests you'll be taking me through?
  8. I think its pretty clear that comms should quiet and to the point with these. That also means we all show some humility when someone starts calling them, it doesn't need another caller to call the same thing as we could overlap our words given were speaking over the internet and possible lag can hit. This also works the other way when on my run last week, I wasn't being a designated caller however both callers got teleported and its about noticing on the first oracle signs if no one is calling you may have to step up and do it. Its just about finding a good spot to see the callouts and not rushing when speaking.
  9. That was quality. I want to look into some upgrades for my PC later on in the year - do you think performance has been significantly improved Philly to allow us to have a fireteam do this?
  10. That's absolutely on the money there Phil. The game was actually a fantastic surprise when we played it. The co-op experience was great, the night time craziness was intense and gripping, and then the near perfect parkour was something i've never experience before in a game. All I remember was Chip @warsaint98 managing to get the best sword in the game and then gifting it to each of us for our own campaigns...and it literally ruined the rest of the story - that and the fact your storyline would automatically fast forward and skip huge content if you joined somebody later on in the game. @crispymorgan loved this game too. I'd definitely love a co-op playthrough properly next time out.
  11. The upgrading of skills with attire sounds good, the backpack unique talents look wacky and awesome, and then the Crocadile pet?! I mean, I think they're going the right way with this. The Far Cry franchise needed a little bit of new ideas through it alongside what we usually expect to get from a FC game.
  12. Might need to check with you guys to understand when the new season starts then! @phil bottle @Mikepjbell @jordie1892 @Greboth I know you lot are looking into all of this so what would really help is the full list of all the races and also not losing sight that we still are doing the individual mini league as well as this team championship. I'd love to get the race events up each week so we can get started on the infographics and all that jazz. I'm still working on getting the developer to create the league within our tournaments section if possible but if not I can help show someone what I do to create the tables that are embedded into some of the posts you've seen (and on the Game Hub GT Sport page).
  13. I think these early ones counted as a hybrid, considering we had to load a tape and wait 10-20 minutes for the game to load! 🤣
  14. How was the reveal, La? Not sure if Nick @Bluebear watched it too?
  15. For the others that haven't noticed, this is now on Thursday this week.
  16. I'm happy to change whenever everyone is ready. If that's this week that is fine with me too 🙂
  17. Some Bank Holiday fun with FGFC! GGFGFC!
  18. I didnt try it @J4MES OX4D cos if I'm totally honest I got turned off when it said 3v3 games! 🤣🤣 I'd happily give it a go as its free too I believe...or a trial as you say. Does anyone else wanna try it out this week at some point?
  19. To achieve greatness and complete Atheon at the end, you now need to hit oracles in the correct order. So how so you call them out? What problems do you have? Happy to hear what you've got... ...although if we can't do left, mid, right with close and far we need sending into the trenches and shot at dawn. 😄 I've also seen it done well just concentrating on first 2 callous as the 3rd is obvious but no harm if you call it too to help out the shooters.
  20. Nice to hear an update is out. Ngl, it doesn't really say much. I was expecting 4 big releases this year - is that still the case? As all they talk about is the first one and its June next week.
  21. Dax got this for his PS4 and I must say its a cracking game. Anyone who likes problem solving would love this. Sometimes a funny jump scary too 🤣
  22. Welcome back Steve! Great to see old faces again and nice to see you made it back home 🙂 The paint might be new around the place but there's still a great buzz around the place with old and new FGers. So sorry to hear about your Sister. Shame you had to go through that on your own. I know you've been very ill of late so it was a nice surprise to see your face pop up once again now you're better. Hopefully all gone though, yeah? Its funny, Gary @techno even realised that you started the Movie thread thats still going strong all those years later! Looking forward to all your pictures of the rods you've made and everything else your creative mind has been doing in the Hobbies section 😄
  23. That was Spectre I'm sure! 😄
  24. Now contest mode is over its all about Oracles as the main issue. The fact you have to now shoot them in the order of when they appear, and when you're at Atheon you have to rely on good callouts in the Atheon room, this basically makes or breaks the boss fight. The absolute key is remain as calm as we can and most of not fill the comms with huge chatter as its the one main section you just need to be focused on the job at hand - something that we at FG are pretty pants at, lets face it! 🤣🤣 Only other thing to consider is DPS on the boss. Ultimately, I think we all worry about getting it done quickly e.g. in 1 or 2 phases but its really something we shouldn't worry about. I 4 phased it the other night and there was no pressure as we all stayed calm and kept calling out oracles to finally take Atheon down. A Divinity seems to help overall if 1 or 2 people have that on, with complimentary things such as high DPS snipers - one I use is the Kinetic sniper 'Succession' (from Deep Stone Crypt). My last loadout was: Kinetic - Sniper - Succession Energy - Scout - Eternal Blazon Heavy - Machine Gun - Xenophage You should also maximise damage by using supers. As a Titan, finally use Thundercrash a little more is some fun, although have to get back to the middle damage zone before Atheon slams you into the next Vex life. A Warlock well is pretty much essential I think, otherwise you need people to bring bubbles and a couple of the squad to shoot supplicants that like to annoy you. What else is working for other people?
  25. Yep, that would make sense but good ol' EA got abit more money out of it being a singular title I can only imagine 🤣 At least its free now, so we get to see how it plays for nothing.
