  1. It's a good variety of games, all of which are decent quality for a very nice entry price. Infinifactory is worth it just on its own and is usually a £20 title.
  2. Steam sale is just the usual suspects with the same old discounts. GMG has done it better with VIP pricing and an additional 10% off for Black Friday on many deals. I'm pretty much jammed of titles right now to keep me going although the Humble Bundle staff pick is pretty fantastic https://www.humblebundle.com/nicks-staff-picks-bundle
  3. Anyone tried this yet? I uninstalled this long ago and didn't get the season pass thank god but this addition albeit at £12 is supposed to be welcome and looking at it; I really don't know why the entire concept of the game was based around this aspect. I probably wont go back to the game but it's nice to see the developers try and salvage it with sensible ideas.
  4. Nice video
  5. I finished the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign yesterday which was absolutely fantastic to revisit - the visual upgrade is utterly magnificent and the missions as we all know are incredibly varied, memorable and simply iconic. It's amazing how powerful and engaging the story and characters are just through mission briefings on the loading screen and some excellent dialogue. Still have a few achievements to sift through including beating the ship in under 15.1 seconds and the infuriating Mile High Club on Veteran. At least when I smash up my keyboard in fury; I'll have a few controllers to fall back on! I've clocked about 8 hours on the MP and it's amazing to go back to the proper COD where the TTK is incredibly low, guns have recoil and the user can't rely on an array of OP killstreaks or specialists. It's also a relief to see walls and not having some little prick running on it with his P2W supply drop assault rifle bought with his parents hard earned money along with barbie camo and some supersonic dildo attachment he unlocked at level 2. The game is tough - P2P+host advantage once again; camp spots, wallbangs, grenade spam and unpredictable spawns - bloody beautiful though and a refreshing challenge. It even puts into perspective how easy MW2 was and how simple the games have become ever since. I do like how the game hasn't been 'balanced' and it's exactly how Call of Duty 4 was but with the Advanced Warfare engine. I was worried about this at first but shockingly; the movement feels perfect and not too fluid or flash like BO3 and not dated. There are 20 prestige levels but I probably wont get very far - I'm level 18 in about 7 hours of actual match gameplay and it already feels like a slog. I've seen it all before and don't really envisage spending another few hundred hours like I did back on the 360 or on my non-steam version but it's a nice casual game now brimming of nostalgia which will feel complete once the remaining 6 maps get released for free. If this type of COD was released today though; it would rejuvenate and repopulate the dwindling franchise. I also decided to check out Infinite Warfare - this being a game that I have loathed since it's announcement. I'm not a fan of the fake Infinity Ward especially after Ghosts and the prospect of Call of Duty in space is an absolute disgrace. Activision are even bigger twats than ever before. I actually felt sick buying the Legacy Edition (75% discount voucher - wouldn't have bought it otherwise) knowing that Activision would chalk up a sale for a game that I did not want or have no interest in. I will not touch the MP at all especially as it's pure P2W already and it looks like utter garbage with boring gameplay and maps that have no flow or decent aesthetics. Bascially a F2P BO3 clone or summat to that tune. That left me with the campaign which I started a few hours ago and it kicked off with a mediocre prologue mission that was so boring. After staggering through that and after watching a reasonably impressive cinematic; I began the first main mission which is called Black Sky. Fuck me sideways; this mission is absolutely incredible from start to finish. Unbelievably to me; this is one of the best missions I have ever seen in the franchise. Starts off aboard this balcony overlooking Geneva in Switzerland and the visuals are stunning. Then the bloody spaceship I got into on the roof got attacked by these wankers called the SDF using our own mounted guns in the sea and our ship got downed in the streets. Then began a frantic push through the streets battling some bloody SDF robot thingys as you do these days in COD and there's some interesting weapons to use plus the characters are really well written and the audio is terrific. Even the AI is quite smart and provides a tough challenge without random hits that kill you out of nowhere. I usually find COD missions linear, dull and generic these days and have done for years but that was an incredible experience. Oh and at the end; you go to space and have another fight up there. It's fast paced, barmy but against all odds; it was a bloody enjoyable experience that I did not expect and if the campaign retains this level of quality in each mission along with stunning cinematics; it could be the best we've had since probably MW2. I did read prior that the story was the strongest aspect of the game and was very impressive so that could be the one feature that salvages this product. Black Ops 3 had one of the most embarrassing and underwhelming stories with garbage characters - fighting robots on a train, being stuck in a digital blue forest and then being on a map stuck on its side - it was just too outrageous, far-fetched and trippy. Pathetic showing from Treyarch and hard to believe they were responsible for WaW and BO1. I'm hoping IW keeps the standard it has set early on and it joins other games such as Doom and Titanfall 2 this year which have provided very impressive single player components on games that may have been seen purely MP oriented. It's still too early to judge Infinite Warfare but I'm so far pleasantly surprised that it's provided one of the most fun and pulsating missions in the franchise but for the MP and the rest of the package aside from MW:R; there's nothing else I'm interested in.
  6. The campaign is great but the MP is riddled with old school problems such as lag, stuttering and 'server' issues. Not sure how it fares on console though. A warning to everyone though - this game is P2P and not dedicated servers as falsely advertised. The words 'finding best host' in the lobby and having seen a host migration in a stream on the Xbox One; this all but confirms the claim as total bullshit. Host advantage is unreal is this game especially as the TTK is so rapid - COD 4 may be back but so are all the old problems. It is good to sample old-school Call of Duty again but I'm not convinced there is enough features or longevity here especially 20 bloody prestiges worth. Certainly good for a few games here and there and it is really nice to play a COD that is a challenge on many levels but it'll never have the impact it once did. Anyone that buys their games through the Win 10 store deserves all the shit and restrictions they get I'm probably only speaking to 10 people worldwide though!
  7. Especially for £15 I've only played MWR so far and that's worth it at that price. I may just pretend that IW doesn't exist and I'm already mildly embarrassed having it in my Steam library
  8. Anyone got it this year? I concluded a dispute I had with a retailer and got a 75% voucher for my troubles so I decided to grab the Legacy edition for £15 I would have not bought this otherwise though and am not planning on installing Infinite Warfare at this time and if I do; it'll be for the campaign only. I'll have a quick look at MW:R multiplayer to see how it fares but I can't see myself going far with 20 prestige levels and I'm not sure if there is enough meat in the game these days that'll keep me interested very long. I'm looking forward to going through the campaign again though. I have zero interest in IW with no expectations but the campaign looks like they've put some effort in so I may make time to check that out in due course.
  9. This video is so true and we've all been there
  10. I prefer the Doritos have been removed from the minimap. I used to stealth it in BF4 with a silencer picking off any orange triangle I could see on the map even if I couldn't spot them from my position. It felt really easy just ghosting it and a bit harsh on the people who advertised their position even if they couldn't be seen on the eye thanks to just a silencer.
  11. Beta out on November 9th for all Thrillseeker edition/Early Bird owners all the way up to release on the 17th. Game really does look too good to be true and still plenty of videos being upped every day from Alpha 3. Cannot wait!
  12. ''This the new style with the fresh type of flow, wrist icicle ride dick bicycle. Come through yo get you this type of blow, if you wanna minaj I got a tricycle'' Nicki Minaj It's almost poetic. Screw Shakespeare. Very powerful stuff and eloquently put. Puts the Beatles to shame really. Must have taken some serious thought and time to write. I may just put my Phil Collins tickets in the bin now.
  13. Yeah, I definitely sense that EA want to grab as many sales as possible from the undecided and increasingly disgruntled Call of Duty fans. It's certainly an appropriate alternative and the way CoD is right now; it's worth a gamble throwing it out there. I'm glad Respawn have received plaudits for TF2 so far as I've followed the team's work since their Medal of Honor days when they were at EA the first time and it must not be easy seeing their original Modern Warfare creation being used as bait to peddle sales of Infinite Warfare especially with IW staff trying to claim it as their own work when they didn't make the original and aren't even producing the remaster! It would be fitting for Respawn and EA just to put a decent dent in Call of Duty to give Activision food for thought in the future.
  14. I've read some really encouraging reviews about Titanfall 2 so I may pick it up in due course plus the campaign is supposed to be surprisingly good albeit a bit short. I'll probably wait a few months to see if the game still thrives against the stiff competition and then try and grab it for £20 or under. Feel a bit bad for Respawn that they've been thrown in the deep end in quite a competitive window but hopefully this game will be a better success in the long term and retain a decent population.
  15. Seems Sean Murray has finally come out of hiding for the first time since August but only after Hello Games Twitter was hacked
  16. Looks like Titanfall 2's estimated sales figures will be very low indeed. Definitely wasn't the smartest move to release in such a packed window http://www.pcgamer.com/ea-share-price-dips-in-response-to-analyst-predicting-substantially-disappointing-titanfall-2-sales
  17. I don't think I'll ever revisit the game but it seems they are working fairly hard on things they should have put more thought into in the first place. Probably testing the waters in preparation for a sequel and trying to find a concept and platform that appeals where the population can remain engaged and maintained. I was pretty fed up of the game after 4 weeks and 40-odd hours which is not the return Ubisoft or I would have wanted especially after 4 years development and I think I played the game longer than many others as I really strung it out doing every possible mission. The whole dark zone and endgame was a complete cock-up and I don't think they'll ever truly find a sweet spot unless they rethink the whole thing. Certainly one of the most immersive and detailed games of all time and even with the downgrade it still looked astonishing but it's just a shame that there was such a massive gap between the quality of the aesthetics and the gameplay. Thank god I didn't buy the season pass though else I would've been majorly pissed!
  18. Probably the most sensible decision for the game. The original struggled to maintain interest for many and the DLC split the dwindling community further. The competition is extremely fierce in the genre right now and moving forward so the brand needs all the help it can get to keep people engaged now and in the future. Titanfall did get some numbers back on the game in the end after some improvements and after the season pass content was made available to all but it got pretty desperate in the end even against some fairly weak games and at a dire time of the generation. Still not sure if this game will thrive in the long run but it's decisions like these that give it some hope.
  19. ^ Good video from Boogie. I'd perfectly respect Bethesda's statement and wishes completely if it wasn't hypocritical and full of double standards. What they are basically saying is that we wont hand out review codes to mainstream media outlets before release but we'll happily hand out gold copies of the complete game for free to YouTuber's days/weeks before, who are on our approved list and wouldn't dare say anything bad about us or the game. It's just a petty and needless move that arouses more suspicion and media bias. If a game goes gold and is obtained by the media; they should be able to review it in terms of public interest and not be bound to an embargo either as we see many other publishers enforcing this over the years. Skyrim Remastered was given to hundreds of YouTuber's a few days ago just before the statement was released and it does seem a bit of a farcical situation that the media cannot obtain the game direct or even review it despite the Bethesda-approved mafia spouting opinions left right and centre freely. I'm not a huge fan of the gaming media but it's a bit of a kick in the balls to them especially as they promote them heavily and drive interest more than ever and are very respectful in doing so for most AAA games. I seriously don't know why they just don't send out copies a week early with the YouTuber's freebies and just put an embargo on the media mainstream sites like other publishers? Bethesda's games aren't short and a 24 hour window before even a 'review in progress' page can be stamped is just poor form. If anything; they may find their games reviews rushed so the media can pick up their clicks before the ad rev pop sinks. That would be a far worse representation of their products.
  20. Anyone think these are OP? I haven't used them yet but I come up against teams in defence who spam these religiously and they can cause huge carnage with minimal effort. I also understand that you have two of these equipped unlike one lethal frag which seems a bit generous too and if you come up with numerous players chucking gas nades; you either have to soak up the growing waft of gas covering a large area with no ADS or retreat back a significant distance until they disperse but then more get thrown in soon after so you're pinned back with ease. I'd certainly consider limiting them one for starters and possibly to one or two classes. The smoke also goes through solid walls and floors which is another thing that needs looking at and the dispersal time for just a single nade is quite long too which I feel makes them far too effective especially in droves. Didn't see too many of these at the start but people are really cottoning on to how useful and favourable these are.
  21. Amiens and Ballroom Blitz are two truly fantastic maps I've really enjoyed so far. St Quentins Scar and Empires Edge are two other superb dynamic maps that work extremely well in the modes. I think Monte Grappa is a problematic one though that favours defenders far too generously especially in Operations and it's almost impossible to offence as defenders can blend into the mountainous glitchy grassland plus hold down interior areas with ease which conflict with above objectives. On the whole though; some truly impressive maps even if a few have some aesthetic, balance or layout issues. Grappa probably needs a higher ticket count or a change/reduction of objectives but the rest are pretty well rounded and fair.
  22. I miss the days of demos I remember when publishers/developers used to battle to get media attention but now they actually seem to hold all the cards in terms of influence and control. Good video from Jim Sterling on this too
  23. Slags http://metro.co.uk/2016/10/26/bethesda-refuse-to-send-out-early-review-copies-of-new-games-6216179/ Honestly didn't expect this from them. Also a bit weird that they wont send out review copies to the press but they're still happy throwing out gold copies to their cocksucking YouTuber's who dare not spout any bad shit about their games even if they are bug-ridden and broken off the bat. I'm feeling a bit uneasier about Dishonored 2 now..
  24. Current Gen Call of Duty Community - Everyone who's first game was Advanced Warfare - 0/10 Werest game eva maid. U cannot wallrun n qwikscoping is hard bro. shupply drahps r called battlepaks n u dnt get cool guns in dem either. i not even play da game cos my parents only buy me 1 game a yaer at christmars but i no dis game is bad n cod will be better n i dnt care wot ppl say cos its true. bf1 also looks real bad n so boring and activonson are best n i cant wait to play infinute warefare cos it has lots of guns n cool stuff like taunts n riggs. my kd on black Oops 3 was also amazin n we have zambies too. bf1 baseically sucks n Ea suck so Cod wins agina.
  25. This was my initial gripe but thankfully loadout customisation will eventually be integrated into the core menu https://www.vg247.com/2016/10/19/battlefield-1-this-is-why-you-cant-customise-weapon-loadouts-from-the-menu/ I've been using the companion app but on a couple of occasions my classes have reset completely or some selections have reverted back to default which has been a pain so I'm not even holding out too much hope for that to be working effectively on release but as long as it's there and I don't have to mess about mid-game or through the app; I'll be happier for sure!
