  1. Supply Drops are here! It was inevitable but it's just that little bit more painful now it's happened. Completely tainted what tiny bit of brilliance the remaster had left and now it looks like total trash. I suspect both games will be dead now. Fucking Activision just couldn't leave it alone - after all the talk about keeping true to the original; they have to destroy it this disgusting way. Wonder if they would have ultimately taken this route if it weren't for Infinite Shitefare's shitty sales... Next month; the P2W weapons will all be revealed including the tacky melee ones which will probably be dildos and baseball bats.
  2. It's pretty much the same complaints as it used to be but back then things like 'balance' didn't really exist or matter but now the games failings really stand out. It was iconic back in the day and still one of the most innovative games ever but the negatives they worked out of the franchise over man games that followed are hard to ignore.
  3. Pretty fluid in terms of on foot although the melee and gun combat isn't quite as polished as the first surprisingly. The driving has been vastly improved although still not on par with the likes of GTA but far better than the original. I'm about 25 hours in and enjoyed every second of it to my surprise so it's well worth considering sometime down the line especially if you can grab it cheaper than the usual RRP.
  4. One word; desperation! I bet they finally implement the 'coming soon' leaderboards once this free trial period is finished to make the game appear like it has a massive population plus they'll probably count these as active players also.
  5. I picked this up tonight and in my first game I managed to get to the dark zone, grab the anti-virals but then I got creamed on big time by the NPC's. I lasted about 75 minutes and just like you Phil; I always managed to find something at last knockings to keep me going. It does seem a fun mode to play now and then and I really need to do some homework on how to extract successfully as I came so close after some hard work just getting into the dark zone but fell at the final hurdle. Only 4 players left too but the NPC's were the biggest threat in the end but I swerved many of them most of the time. I played at a good pace too - I usually get impatient against the urgency of such situations but I was pretty calm and controlled and it seemed a few players jumped the gun and died early. It'll be interesting to see how I fare tomorrow. Fair play to Ubisoft though - seems they've turned the game around against the odds.
  6. Funny slip of the tongue from one of Warframe's developers at the Game Awards 2016
  7. It's a full blown game from start to finish where you are in control the whole time but it also has some epic cut scenes also. One of the most polished titles I've ever played for sure and you should try and pick it up dirt cheap!
  8. Announced today http://www.gamespot.com/articles/the-last-of-us-2-announced-with-first-trailer/1100-6445951/ The original is one of the best games I've ever played and cannot wait for this. Naughty Dog are in a different league of developers and this should be another monumental masterpiece.
  9. I think Activision were just desperately dishing out 'free' keys wherever possible as it doesn't cost them a penny plus there's hope for them that users invest in supply drops that may do decide to try it out. Another distinct possibility for this action is that Infinite Warfare still doesn't have leaderboards implemented despite a 3 year development cycle and a huge budget. Every other COD game had this at launch and it's almost laughable to think that it wouldn't be included in the game. It just says 'Coming Soon' in the menu. Just like how since Advanced Warfare where the playlist player counts were removed; I think the leaderboards were omitted as they would advertise the global population who have participated in MP at least once and I bet it is hilariously low. They're probably throwing out the keys hoping people will play the game once and then they may implement the leaderboards when the figure grows substantially.
  10. I wasn't planning on getting this game at all especially as the preview builds look like a boring, bland, empty and rather dated sandbox and that's not even taking into account the tarnished reputation that the name and developers have after the immensely disappointing original. After seeing plenty of positive reviews of the sequel from the console release two weeks ago and the PC version a couple of days previous; I decided to grab the game on PC knowing a refund option was there to bail me out if the game was as poor as I'd expected long before launch. Actually the game to my bemusement it's actually not all that bad. Actually; the game is absolutely brilliant! My expectations were still reasonably high and this game exceeds them on many levels. Visually; the game looks fantastic and far better in the final build than in the previews which is unheard of from Ubisoft as their games are usually 'downgraded' and not seemingly upgraded. San Francisco has great detail, colour and whilst not overwhelmingly packed full of NPC's; there is certainly an amazing vibe with plenty of cars and people - a lot more than seen in the barren preview build. There are so many interactive and unique AI characters and some of their interactions with each other is unbelievably lifelike. There are even dogs you can pet! It is a wonderful setting and superbly detailed and vibrant. The story is lighthearted, cheesy and cliche but that's not a bad thing - it's more in-line with GTA's level of humour and it doesn't do a bad job. The characters aren't all that bad either and are very appropriately written and presented. There are some hilarious moments and dialogue too and it really fits with the stereotypical 'hacker' scene that's current. There is also plenty of things to hack and interactive features which can aid you through missions or simply lead to some barmy scenarios. A few minor gripes is the car handling is still a bit ropey at times especially in some vehicles and the AI is also wobbly as hell but overall; it's been a truly fantastic experience so far and far better than the original. I think Ubisoft being brought down to earth with how they produce and market games like this has really helped them produce a great game that isn't trying too hard to be good or mislead people. Worth considering if you're after one final game this year.
  11. I caught Men in Black the other day for the first time in years and I forgot how brilliant that film was and still is.
  12. It's a good variety of games, all of which are decent quality for a very nice entry price. Infinifactory is worth it just on its own and is usually a £20 title.
  13. Steam sale is just the usual suspects with the same old discounts. GMG has done it better with VIP pricing and an additional 10% off for Black Friday on many deals. I'm pretty much jammed of titles right now to keep me going although the Humble Bundle staff pick is pretty fantastic https://www.humblebundle.com/nicks-staff-picks-bundle
  14. Anyone tried this yet? I uninstalled this long ago and didn't get the season pass thank god but this addition albeit at £12 is supposed to be welcome and looking at it; I really don't know why the entire concept of the game was based around this aspect. I probably wont go back to the game but it's nice to see the developers try and salvage it with sensible ideas.
  15. Nice video
  16. I finished the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign yesterday which was absolutely fantastic to revisit - the visual upgrade is utterly magnificent and the missions as we all know are incredibly varied, memorable and simply iconic. It's amazing how powerful and engaging the story and characters are just through mission briefings on the loading screen and some excellent dialogue. Still have a few achievements to sift through including beating the ship in under 15.1 seconds and the infuriating Mile High Club on Veteran. At least when I smash up my keyboard in fury; I'll have a few controllers to fall back on! I've clocked about 8 hours on the MP and it's amazing to go back to the proper COD where the TTK is incredibly low, guns have recoil and the user can't rely on an array of OP killstreaks or specialists. It's also a relief to see walls and not having some little prick running on it with his P2W supply drop assault rifle bought with his parents hard earned money along with barbie camo and some supersonic dildo attachment he unlocked at level 2. The game is tough - P2P+host advantage once again; camp spots, wallbangs, grenade spam and unpredictable spawns - bloody beautiful though and a refreshing challenge. It even puts into perspective how easy MW2 was and how simple the games have become ever since. I do like how the game hasn't been 'balanced' and it's exactly how Call of Duty 4 was but with the Advanced Warfare engine. I was worried about this at first but shockingly; the movement feels perfect and not too fluid or flash like BO3 and not dated. There are 20 prestige levels but I probably wont get very far - I'm level 18 in about 7 hours of actual match gameplay and it already feels like a slog. I've seen it all before and don't really envisage spending another few hundred hours like I did back on the 360 or on my non-steam version but it's a nice casual game now brimming of nostalgia which will feel complete once the remaining 6 maps get released for free. If this type of COD was released today though; it would rejuvenate and repopulate the dwindling franchise. I also decided to check out Infinite Warfare - this being a game that I have loathed since it's announcement. I'm not a fan of the fake Infinity Ward especially after Ghosts and the prospect of Call of Duty in space is an absolute disgrace. Activision are even bigger twats than ever before. I actually felt sick buying the Legacy Edition (75% discount voucher - wouldn't have bought it otherwise) knowing that Activision would chalk up a sale for a game that I did not want or have no interest in. I will not touch the MP at all especially as it's pure P2W already and it looks like utter garbage with boring gameplay and maps that have no flow or decent aesthetics. Bascially a F2P BO3 clone or summat to that tune. That left me with the campaign which I started a few hours ago and it kicked off with a mediocre prologue mission that was so boring. After staggering through that and after watching a reasonably impressive cinematic; I began the first main mission which is called Black Sky. Fuck me sideways; this mission is absolutely incredible from start to finish. Unbelievably to me; this is one of the best missions I have ever seen in the franchise. Starts off aboard this balcony overlooking Geneva in Switzerland and the visuals are stunning. Then the bloody spaceship I got into on the roof got attacked by these wankers called the SDF using our own mounted guns in the sea and our ship got downed in the streets. Then began a frantic push through the streets battling some bloody SDF robot thingys as you do these days in COD and there's some interesting weapons to use plus the characters are really well written and the audio is terrific. Even the AI is quite smart and provides a tough challenge without random hits that kill you out of nowhere. I usually find COD missions linear, dull and generic these days and have done for years but that was an incredible experience. Oh and at the end; you go to space and have another fight up there. It's fast paced, barmy but against all odds; it was a bloody enjoyable experience that I did not expect and if the campaign retains this level of quality in each mission along with stunning cinematics; it could be the best we've had since probably MW2. I did read prior that the story was the strongest aspect of the game and was very impressive so that could be the one feature that salvages this product. Black Ops 3 had one of the most embarrassing and underwhelming stories with garbage characters - fighting robots on a train, being stuck in a digital blue forest and then being on a map stuck on its side - it was just too outrageous, far-fetched and trippy. Pathetic showing from Treyarch and hard to believe they were responsible for WaW and BO1. I'm hoping IW keeps the standard it has set early on and it joins other games such as Doom and Titanfall 2 this year which have provided very impressive single player components on games that may have been seen purely MP oriented. It's still too early to judge Infinite Warfare but I'm so far pleasantly surprised that it's provided one of the most fun and pulsating missions in the franchise but for the MP and the rest of the package aside from MW:R; there's nothing else I'm interested in.
  17. The campaign is great but the MP is riddled with old school problems such as lag, stuttering and 'server' issues. Not sure how it fares on console though. A warning to everyone though - this game is P2P and not dedicated servers as falsely advertised. The words 'finding best host' in the lobby and having seen a host migration in a stream on the Xbox One; this all but confirms the claim as total bullshit. Host advantage is unreal is this game especially as the TTK is so rapid - COD 4 may be back but so are all the old problems. It is good to sample old-school Call of Duty again but I'm not convinced there is enough features or longevity here especially 20 bloody prestiges worth. Certainly good for a few games here and there and it is really nice to play a COD that is a challenge on many levels but it'll never have the impact it once did. Anyone that buys their games through the Win 10 store deserves all the shit and restrictions they get I'm probably only speaking to 10 people worldwide though!
  18. Especially for £15 I've only played MWR so far and that's worth it at that price. I may just pretend that IW doesn't exist and I'm already mildly embarrassed having it in my Steam library
  19. Anyone got it this year? I concluded a dispute I had with a retailer and got a 75% voucher for my troubles so I decided to grab the Legacy edition for £15 I would have not bought this otherwise though and am not planning on installing Infinite Warfare at this time and if I do; it'll be for the campaign only. I'll have a quick look at MW:R multiplayer to see how it fares but I can't see myself going far with 20 prestige levels and I'm not sure if there is enough meat in the game these days that'll keep me interested very long. I'm looking forward to going through the campaign again though. I have zero interest in IW with no expectations but the campaign looks like they've put some effort in so I may make time to check that out in due course.
  20. This video is so true and we've all been there
  21. I prefer the Doritos have been removed from the minimap. I used to stealth it in BF4 with a silencer picking off any orange triangle I could see on the map even if I couldn't spot them from my position. It felt really easy just ghosting it and a bit harsh on the people who advertised their position even if they couldn't be seen on the eye thanks to just a silencer.
  22. Beta out on November 9th for all Thrillseeker edition/Early Bird owners all the way up to release on the 17th. Game really does look too good to be true and still plenty of videos being upped every day from Alpha 3. Cannot wait!
  23. ''This the new style with the fresh type of flow, wrist icicle ride dick bicycle. Come through yo get you this type of blow, if you wanna minaj I got a tricycle'' Nicki Minaj It's almost poetic. Screw Shakespeare. Very powerful stuff and eloquently put. Puts the Beatles to shame really. Must have taken some serious thought and time to write. I may just put my Phil Collins tickets in the bin now.
  24. Yeah, I definitely sense that EA want to grab as many sales as possible from the undecided and increasingly disgruntled Call of Duty fans. It's certainly an appropriate alternative and the way CoD is right now; it's worth a gamble throwing it out there. I'm glad Respawn have received plaudits for TF2 so far as I've followed the team's work since their Medal of Honor days when they were at EA the first time and it must not be easy seeing their original Modern Warfare creation being used as bait to peddle sales of Infinite Warfare especially with IW staff trying to claim it as their own work when they didn't make the original and aren't even producing the remaster! It would be fitting for Respawn and EA just to put a decent dent in Call of Duty to give Activision food for thought in the future.
