  1. Went to watch Oxford v Portsmouth today and it's great to be back. 3-0 and top of the league Probably wont last but considering we've lost our manager and some great players yet still improved the team aint half bad. We've also brought in some big names plus a few with Champions League/Europa League experience on top of an already decent side. Still early days but a pretty encouraging start. Gino Van Kessel looks quality from Slavia Prague
  2. Don't get Dawn of War III as it's god damn awful! They've turned it into a MOBA-hybrid that looks like Starcraft II and plays like DOTA 2 which has pissed off the longtime fans of the game and the risk has failed to capture any of the e-sport crowd the game is intended for. It's an absolute calamity and the player counts are between 500-1000 which is embarrassing for a brand like this. I cannot believe the devs did it and even as a MOBA; it's garbage. The campaign is just lane-pushing missions which is more of a warmup for the MP that barely anybody plays and all shreds of a strategic RTS are missing.
  3. Currently sitting at 9/100 on Metacritic http://www.metacritic.com/movie/the-emoji-movie?ref=hp
  4. Bloody hell the PC specs are so low I could probably run this on my old work laptop from 2010 Looks like I wont even have to upgrade my PC either. Christ, there's been more demanding indie games released of late If it's a great port like Overwatch; it should run outstandingly well on PC though. I could probably get 90fps at high on an old 770 with this hopefully. No way I pre-ordering though just for one extra day and after some of the negative feedback I've read read but I'm intrigued to check out the open beta.
  5. The camera for shooting elements is the standard 3rd person one but the game also mixes in multiple views for when scaling the environment. The game is more inspired by Indiana Jones rather than Tomb Raider although Rise of the Tomb Raider was ironically more based on Uncharted 2! The stories are a bit repetitive and predictable in places but the script is pretty fanatastic as are the cut scenes. You could probably move on to 4 without finishing the third game as it's a brand new story albeit with returning characters.
  6. Yep that's a classic and the remastered game is currently on sale http://store.steampowered.com/app/228360/Full_Throttle_Remastered/ along with Day of the Tentacle Remastered http://store.steampowered.com/app/388210/Day_of_the_Tentacle_Remastered/
  7. Nice LucasArts discounted bundle here https://www.bundlestars.com/en/game/lucasarts-adventure-pack
  8. I've been playing the Uncharted Collection of late and just completed the trilogy and found them to be utterly incredible games. I've already finished The Last of Us Remastered from Naughty Dog which was excellent but never got round to playing Uncharted until recently. The trilogy is remastered superbly - they were great looking games back on the old gen but even now; all look stunning; even the original which must be nearly a decade old. The sheer effort that has gone into producing the games from the beautiful and artistic backdrops to the character animations and audio just puts so many modern games to shame. Out of the three, I think I liked Uncharted 2 the most. The original is still excellent today considering its age and the third game was highly enjoyable albeit a bit shorter than the second and having more scripted events along with cumbersome melee combat. I picked up the package for £18 on eBay which is a complete steal. I've just started working my way through 4 which is jaw-dropping in places and a massive step from from even the gorgeous remastered titles. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy releases next month too and unless I become extremely burned and sick of the series by then; that's another title that I cannot wait to sift through. Anyone else have these on the old gen or have played the collection on PS4?
  9. Dying Light is a truly amazing game and it's great to see the game being supported and still thriving. It's been probably two and a half years since I finished it and haven't touched it since but it's nice to see people still enjoying it and that's down to fantastic co-op and content. Techland could probably finish Dying Light 2 before Dead Island 2 is completed too!
  10. One of the great FPS games of modern times. Pulsating fun throughout the entire campaign with epic gun mechanics and general gameplay. Brilliant soundtrack too!
  11. They should probably just remove TKing altogether and get rid of that headache for players and their report feature. Having to sift through thousands of reports of this is not really viable and the hassle of users being killed deliberately for no reason just harms the experience for those who just want to squad up but can concoct a team at that time.
  12. I bloody love these types of games! WadjetEye Games are the developers to check out for titles like these now http://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=WadjetEye Gemini Rue, Technobabylon, Resonance, Shardlight, A Golden Wake and the Blackwell Collection are fantastic. The Monkey Island games are also worth a look if you haven't played them already along with the Broken Sword collection.
  13. Played a couple of matches today and the last patch really seems to have boosted performance which is great stuff! Also 382,000 were online earlier playing which is huge especially when you had 500,000+ in CSGO, DOTA 2 and a shitload in the likes of Overwatch, LoL and all the other popular games. Not bad for an early access title that costs a fair bit and requires a beefy PC to run.
  14. They will always get flak especially in this day and age for their antics and whilst I'm tired of seeing the same stereotypcial hate being banded around at them; they fucking deserve every bit of it. This wasn't a case of time constraints, budget restrictions or technical limitations - this was a calculated deception of continuous lies for three years leading up to release. Even Sony called them out on their whole strategy and even went against their own policies to refund angry users months down the line. Sean Murray 12 days before the delayed launch still stated to various media domains that the game could be played with other players online but the chances of meeting them was virtually non-existent. Day one and this was already debunked as complete bullshit and it was clear he talked up a feature that didn't exist hoping that nobody would ever discover it to be nonsense. It was then proven that the game was played locally with only the data packet that was transmitted online which means it is technically impossible for players to meet, see or communicate with each other. He even dropped at text at the 11th hour before launch telling people not to go into the experience if they were looking for a multiplayer one - this was after the game was heavily pre-ordered and the tight media embargoes were lifted. That was just one of a catalogue of blatant lies. After Murray was exposed barely 24 hours after release; he disappeared from the media for months not to be seen until January. There are also so many other allegeded features that was talked about or he answered 'yes' to in his many biased media interviews and virtually none were ever seen or talked about again. This wasn't a case of them being simply omitted - they clearly didn't exist and HG had no intention of producing them. Even if his back-catalogue of BS features did ever make it into the game years later; that's not what people paid for at launch a year ago and it's not an early access listed title either. He always talked about not wanting to spoil or give too much away but it's clear why these were his motivations. I do think many people did perhaps get a bit over-hyped and carried away and the media were far too generous in swallowing everything Murray said rather than questioning each detail and asking for some evidence rather than a simple 'yes'. Just his body langauge alone was a dead giveaway for me. This was definitely worse than anything Peter Molyneux, Dean Hall, EA and even Ubisoft have ever pulled. I usually champion British-based develoeprs but this lot have brought utter shame and embarrassment to the industry and let a lot of people down on a level I have never ever seen before and that's against the usual AAA suspects of today. Not even Ubisoft have ever sunk to this borderline-illegal practice.
  15. I can only assume that the reason this game is still having work maintained is to keep them distant from any legal ramifications down the line. The amount of lies that were spouted leading right up until release was just astonishing but if they show that they still have a dedicated interest in the project then that may cover their arses in the future. Or perhaps they are doing it out of the kindness of their hearts cos afterall; they did net a remarkable amount of money for an indie game which was sold on brainwashing fans and endless amounts of deception. I can't see any future endevours from this team or from Sean Murray having any form of success or trust so perhaps trying to repair the relationship with a fraction of the community is all they can do.
  16. That was a classic rumour but there was no real concrete proof that it actually hampered performance and certainly wouldn't have affected non-hosts. Certainly now; developers would be able to implement overlays the same way the rolling background capture features operate on the PS4 and XB1. Unless users have an external capture card at hand; the hardware only records at 720/30 so recording quality content isn't going to be easy or cheap.
  17. Seriously Sledgehammer? It's amazing that Black Ops back in 2010 had theater mode but this one in 2017 wont. It probably wont even have a combat record either! Well after Infinite Warfare didn't even have leaderboards, a combat record or even a poxy emblem editor, I can't be too surprised really that this is missing a key element. The inconsistent design year after year is just not good enough especially when even the old gen games are more content-laden and feature packed.
  18. You can pre-order it at GAME and Argos too. As soon as a game is officially announced nowadays, retailers open the doors for pre-orders which helps them get that little bit extra cash to source the stock. Why anybody would pre-order a game that's over a year away though is beyond me though - I'd rather keep hold of my money to spend elsewhere and if I did desperately want first dibs on a game; I'd pre-order a week or a couple of days before the game is launched.
  19. Yep, not even a fully aim assisted controller can match the rapid precision of what you can do with a mouse. I tried Overwatch with a controller on the sofa a couple of weeks ago and it felt clunky and slow plus I got destroyed. KB+M is much more fluid plus in games like that; it's far more enjoyable and satisfying to use. I think Call of Duty is probably the only FPS I've played where I've preferred a controller because it's a game made for pads with strong handicaps such as the aim assistance enabled.
  20. New map being worked on
  21. I watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off earlier and that's one of the best films I have ever seen! They don't make masterpieces like that nowadays sadly.
  22. I also have to question the sheer stupidity of the neighbours and everyone who was watching. Since when are books known to make good body armour FFS A live gun prank for YouTube is the most retarted thing I've heard in a long time.
  23. What is wrong with people these days? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-40438207
  24. Hopefully Ninbendo don't discontinue production after five minutes this time! If just praying that they make a mini N64 as that would be the greatest thing ever invented apart from the original 64
  25. $39.99/£29.99 and for that, you get the base game and that's it. The variety map pack is still not included and is sold seperately. Ironically; Legacy editions have been going for even less which gives you access to both IW and MW:R so this deal is actually more horrendous than as first seen. Activision going for one last major milk before WW2 releases pretty much and the sad thing is; it'll probably work.
