[Poll] FG Friday Tonight...You Decide!!
RenFengge replied to GazzaGarratt's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Fall Guys, because I downloaded it last week, then I couldn't play with everyone haha. And Bomberman... which I will download if told to do so. Nostalgia has a way of winning me over. -
I don't think there's too many spoilers to give, so I won't be covering this post with a spoilers block. The first episode was fun and just emotional enough to get an underlying theme and character motivation going. However, @TurboR56Mini and I immediately thought, "This looks a lot like Legends of Tomorrow and Umbrella Academy." Anyone else besides me officially recognize the 1950's aesthetic to now to be really cool yet really creepy? I mean, even Fallout plays into it haha. Anyway, I will say, I was a bit surprised to see the shock on Loki's face when he realized how his mother died. I'm sure this is a thread that is going to be pulled throughout the show. The original Loki we know had a salvation arc that was always tricky and iffy. Will this Loki have his own?

Loki is starting! So, here's a thread to discuss it! 🙂
-
What a fun first episode! I was super stoked to see Wunmi Mosaku in it. She was stellar in Lovecraft Country as Ruby. I'll start a discussion thread if you want to discuss it with everyone!
-
Thanks for the second completion. I'll get less nervous about shooting Oracles as we continue to do this. 😄 Might be a good idea to call out if it's going to be a "team shoot" or a "solo shoot" once teleported.

Thanks @Tar-Eruntalion on pinging about this! Hi Everyone,We want to start by thanking you all for the patience and kindness you’ve shown us since we launched in February. We launched into Early Access because we want to build the game with you, but never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined how many of you want to join us on this journey! As we’re sure lots of you suspected, we won’t be able to deliver four updates this year. Instead, we’re now planning to launch Hearth & Home in Q3 2021, and we’re temporarily taking down the roadmap whilst we make some changes. We are sorry it’s taken us so long to update you.We weren’t prepared for such a large influx of players, and this highlighted a thousand new problems and bugs that needed to be fixed urgently. Our priority has been to make the current experience as stable as possible and this has meant new content has taken a backseat. To put it clearly; we haven’t been able to focus all of our resources on Hearth & Home until May.We hope that one of the reasons Valheim has resonated with so many of you is down to attention to detail. We don’t want to launch an update that we’re not confident in, and that isn’t deserving of your time. With that in mind, the new roadmap will be much smaller, but we’ve made the decision to focus on the big Mistlands update directly after we’re done with Hearth & Home, putting aside the smaller updates for now...That being said, we would like to share some of the upcoming Hearth & Home content here. This is by no means a complete list but a taste of what’s cooking. New build pieces – Darkwood roofs and window hatches. New cooking station extensions – spice rack, butcher table, pots & pans... In addition to this we've also implemented a new food system that places more importance between boosting health and stamina, making food choices more interesting based on your playstyle. To this end, we've also made some changes to how stamina/health affects your poise in combat. If you want to play a tanky, defensive viking you should now stock up on health, since this will boost your ability to deflect incoming hits and mitigate damage. New foods to take advantage of the new system and cooking station extensions– more than 10 new recipes including Eyescream, Shocklate smoothie, various wolf meats, and more. Plantable onions with pretty onion flowers. We’re pretty flexible when it comes to what we want to add to the game, and we’re often inspired by a meeting or an awesome comment from the community, which means our roadmap is always going to be fluid. Valheim is also a game about exploration, and we don't want to spoil that feeling of discovery for our players. That said, we do want to be more open with what we’re currently working on, even if it is just our artist Robin working on a piece of content that he's enjoying, but that might never make it into the game. Striking a balance between being transparent about what we are working on, while at the same time not spoiling it for those of you who want to discover it yourselves is tough, but we think it's important to be more informal and open as an Early Access game.Tomorrow June 11th, at 2PM CEST, we will also be heading to the r/valheim subreddit for an AMA. We’d love for you all to join so we have an opportunity to try and answer as many questions as we can on Hearth & Home and the new roadmap. We’ll also of course keep posting our monthly development updates and hotfixes as always. Thank you again for continuing to support us, and for your feedback and creativity. The Iron Gate team

I think it makes sense for it to be in "Pew Pew"/Shooters section. @GazzaGarratt- thoughts? especially since there are some nights for Battlefield matches going?
-
I'm sort of reviving this thread... because I need to start outlining thoughts on managing our social media presence.

Raid team for Thursday: @Baabcat @Venom @Ajay @Bluebear @Kemp210 Me. If anyone wants in, just DM me or post here. I'll happily step aside.

We love Amos. The type of character he plays always seems to amuse me. He's like Shale in Dragon Age Origins lol. At least to me. But, Amos' backstory is one that I think a lot of people want to learn about. Because no one becomes that broken without surviving something. And, from what I understand, they toned down his history in the show versus the books. Ella is a blast in Lucifer. Such a naive juxtaposition against the other characters. I mean, Chloe is like dumb and oblivious. But, Ella? She's like willfully ignorant to what everyone is around her. And, so... optimistic. Before I forget, Carl and I watched Travelers on Netflix. It was a great show that while it was cancelled, it had a proper ending. My favorite character there was Trevor Holden. Dunno why. But, he was. The sheer amusement of his character being this old guy put in the youngest body in the team... and being so wise at times. Loved it.

Ah, Ryan Reynolds. Sometimes, when I would come home from school, I would catch an episode of "Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place". No other person on that show stood out for me except for Reynolds. The delivery of the humor was pretty spot on. He's another actor that I have enjoyed watching progress in his career. Always with some silly rom com or whatever. Never thought he would be considered an A-lister. Was it Deadpool that really cinched it for him? I love knowing that he's going to be in Clue. It's one of my favorite movies.

Ooohhh. These are great mentions. I love Lucifer and the rest of the cast. Amenadiel's growth from a strict angel into a nuanced being has been satisfying. Mazikeen's sociopathic ridiculous is hilarious. Chloe is the worst for me. @TurboR56Mini and I watch The Rookie. Honestly wasn't going to think I would like it enough to really pay attention to the show. But, we started watching it because of Nathan Fillion. It's a good show. Lighthearted enough to balance out some of the more series topics and storylines they cover. I was pleasantly surprised with Bradford becoming one of my favorites. Such a shame on some of the set drama. Would have loved to see the character progression on Talia. But, bringing in the character of Nyla has also been really good for the show.

Hah. For West Wing, I was trying to narrow it down to 1. I got down to 2. The characters from seasons 1 - 4 were phenomenal. I wish there was another show like it. I loved The Newsroom too. Aaron Sorkin is a writer for our times. I wish I was able to watch his rendition of To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway before COVID took my chance away. For SG-1, I think Daniel's story just really pulled at me. I loved O'Neil's sarcasm. It's what made the show great. But, there was a depth and torture to Daniel that I wanted to follow, always trying to get his wife back... just a mess. However, I'm nota fan of what they did with his character in the end. Now, Babylon 5... ooohh.. that show had so many poignant quotes. G'kar on B5 reminded me a lot of Garak on Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Both were great characters on each show. I enjoyed watching G'kar and Londo's character arcs turning into friendship. I think the character arc on B5 that stung was watching Garibaldi become at odds with the rest of B5.

Nathan Fillion is a joy to watch (or listen) in anything he does. He has that "type" that he plays nailed down. I first saw him on Buffy as the evil Priest. It's been great seeing his career grow and become what it is. It was probably one of the only roles where his wit and sense of humor wasn't completely utilized. For me, there are enjoyable actors who I will almost always watch in whatever they do... then there are amazing characters in stories. Like, I love David Rose from Schitt's Creek, but I'm not sure if I want to watch that actor in other roles. He's a fantastic writer. For women actresses, there are not many that I feel the need to watch. But, I suspect that's because there aren't as many witty roles available to them. I'll probably watch anything with Constance Wu or Emma Watson or Charlize Theron. But, I love Hermione in the Harry Potter movies. I adore Peeta in Hunger Games. I think Xander and Oz and Spike in Buffy stole the show whenever they were on scene. For newer shows... Iggy in New Amsterdam is my favorite character. Chimney in Rescue 9-1-1 is also fantastic. Philipia Georgieau in Star Trek Discovery is amazing.

6/7/2021 Workout 5 Rounds 7 Deadlifts (155lbs) 30 high single-unders 7 Ring Rows 30 high single-unders 7 Burpees 30 high single-unders THEN Rest - 5 mins Tabata Row for 8 rounds Thoughts: I jolted out of bed this morning. I hate be startled by my alarm lol. But cherry cake means I need to make an effort today. Luckily, deadlifts were programmed. My younger self must have been the one who looked at today's workout and went, "Oh, this is fine. 7 burpees? This is fine. 35 total burpees. This is fine." This is not fine lol. Because doing high jump ropes then 7 burpees is not fine. There used to be a time I could bang out 10 burpees quickly. I may want to die, but I could spit them out 10 at a time. I am not 28 anymore lol. Anyway. As always, I intended to only do like 135lbs for deadlift. Partially because I didn't want to grab more plates (I only took a pair of 45lbs), partially because I thought, "why not make it mostly cardio?" But, as usual, I was met with a glare and was instructed to put more on. I slapped on the 10lb pair. I said, "Compromise? It's Monday. It's disgusting out." Lol. I scaled the pull-ups down to ring rows. I knew I needed to find something to use as rest time. That would be the deadlifts and the ring rows. My energy was going to be spent in burpees and the high jumps. 5 rounds of this. At least I wasn't the last one done. But, it meant that I actually had to finish a round. When I finished my jumps, I just fell and laid on the floor lol. 5 minutes before we do the Tabata row for 8 rounds. Should be fine. Right? Should be fine. If anything, the Rowing Class has made this part mentally bearable. I know that originally I would have been crying after round 3 of it hah. So, there's some improvement. All in all, I'm feeling the soreness in my right shoulder as my body is now able to use those muscles fully for the first time in years. Working out the imbalance. Still really cool to not feel the giant "knots" that I use to feel there when I'm taking a lacrosse ball to the area. Rest day tomorrow. Back for the gym on Wednesday and Thursday. This Saturday is going to be my first Saturday off in 2 months. We're transitioning to the next weightlifting workshop. Means this coming Sunday will be my first Sunday sore-free at MMA.

That sucks. I really wish we could have helped you out. As for your old PSN name, at least now you can change it. But, you only get 1 shot to do, from what I remember.
-
Congrats on your jab! @TurboR56Mini and I got our second Pfizer on 5/28. The first shot didn't really affect either of us with the exception of the sore arm, but that's common with injections if anyone actually remembers what it was like getting vaccines as a kid and their flu shots. The second one just left us tired, but nothing more. We went to bed earlier than normal that night. Here's hoping that the UK keeps trending lower with cases!
-
Yay! @TurboR56Mini got his completion!! Yay!! Also, thanks @Riff Machine for letting me tag him in. Between my hunger and knowing my dog needed to be walked (and my head just wasn't really in it today), you coming in was definitely the key to making this happen. I actually told Carl later on while we were doing other D2 activities, "yeah. my brain can't wrap itself around Destiny today." Also, relatively obvious when we ran DSC with @GazzaGarratt and I had pointless deaths lol... and that I forgot to take care of the middle Servitor after I took care of the left one. See, @Baabcat , I do seem to forget about that middle Servitor in DSC if you're not there lol.
