Welcome! Our GTA nights can get a bit boisterous especially when @Amnotright and myself have had a few (many) alcohols but always fun and always harmless. We take the piss out of each other all night long but it's all in good nature. Hop in on Friday, see what the mood is like and go from there. If you prefer to keep your mic off that's perfectly fine, but know that nothing you say can offend anyone, we're all adults here. If you find your shyness is getting to you then honestly you've come to the right place. I've decided to start a little recruitment drive for us, starting with Overclockers because I am a well established member there. Here's the thread, can you lot all pop in and say hello please, I know it's extremely difficult to enter a few details and click submit and I know you're all very busy people but hopefully a minute or two out of your lives isn't too large a price to pay to have new folks join. Yes I am being sarcastic because I know how lazy you lot are so if you could all pull your fingers out your arses and do this it'd help. I intend to promote FG quite a bit but feel free to do so yourselves if you are members of other forums too ( @crispymorgan maybe you can put a word out on BB, you've played with that lot before). It's still an awesome game, great fun but skill is maybe 30% of the factor in firefights, the other 70% is hit detection, lag, etc. This game is extremely sensitive to internet foibles. I bought the season pass and it changes the game completely, much more stuff to do, it's definitely worth it even if only for a month. Builders are fucking irritating, you get the drop on someone and 3 seconds later you're looking at an entire shopping centre, it does my head in. I really like that they keep changing and adding stuff, there are now golf carts, shopping trolleys, apples on the ground which give you 5% health, mushrooms which give you 5% armour, new weapons, the map changes every few weeks, etc. It's definitely one of the better maintained games out there.

Loads of shit flying around about this being better, haven't got it but it's tempting. What are the goals? Are there quests / missions / etc? Can you team up with others and fuck stuff up? What's the loot stuff like? Various weapons? Armour and stats? Or is it simply another shitty survival game?

1080ti is overkill for you, I'd be looking at a 1070, 1070ti at most. Both of those will last you many years, the 1080ti is a 4k card.

I would've loved to give this a go but sadly it wasn't to be. I just didn't have enough time this weekend and last night I was fucking knackered after stuffing my face with an epic roast so it wasn't on the cards. I'll definitely give it a go next time it comes around though. I was chatting to @Plumbers Crack about the exotics I want to see returned, there are four of them, Zhalo, Arse Breaker, Jelly and Truth. Some of my funniest moments in D1 were watching those goddamn fucking Truth rockets chase people around corners. I could almost taste their panic, people bumping in to walls n shit, it was hilarious. Oh and I want the Colony. That also looks like it's an absolute cunt in PVP so I need one.

I don't really like promoting piracy but I make an exception for a few things. Pirate a copy of Sony Vegas, you won't get that level of functionality for less than £600. Due to it being quite possibly the most pirated piece of software ever YouTube is absolutely stuffed with tutorials, it's how I learned to use it back in the day. Adobe Premiere is also quite popular but due to it being unpirateable there are fuck all tutorials on the tube and all the ones on there are far too advanced for noobs like me, they all assume I make a living with it already. For recording software I found Fraps to be the best. It's an absolute pig for resources and loves chewing through RAM but if you have a decent PC it can't be beat. I tried loads and although most of the others were much less intensive, they sacrificed image quality and / or sound. If you want Fraps let me know as I have a paid up account so can download whenever. For voice recording you wanna use Audacity, very easy to use, loads of options and this means you'll have separate audio and video files so you can edit to your heart's content. It's also free. Anyone who says you need to spend big bucks on hardware is talking shit. My old vlogs were all recorded on my Samsung Galaxy S3, sound and video, and the quality was fantastic. Rendering takes ages so try plan it to let your PC do it overnight. I dunno if GPU rendering is decent nowadays but when I tried it it fucked up every single time, a pain in the arse when you leave it overnight only to find it's failed in the morning. I'll add more to this as I think of it.
