  1. Ola! Sorry for being a bit brief with my response last night, I was doing the dishes at the time. To answer your question properly, you have to use Twitch nowadays. Download it, go to "mods", select "my games", then select World of Warcraft. On the right hand side will be a drop down, make sure it routes to WoW Classic and not WoW Retail (which it should do by default if you don't have retail installed, but just check to be sure). Then you can search for whatever you want. I'll send you a bit of pocket money when I'm next on to get you started 🙂 Cheerio!
  2. Sounds like something that will use a TON of server resources as it'll need to ping the APIs of various sites a few times a day, for every user. If it's configurable to do it say once a day then it'd probably be ok but then the info would also only update once a day. I think we need to trim some of the fat and unused stuff first, the forum's slow AF lately.
  3. Wasn't there a mod back in ye olde Tekkit days that would allow you to use waypoints completely client-side? I seem to recall something like that existing and nobody minded as it was 100% for your own info. Don't think they allowed teleporting though.
  4. Hello! Welcome to the forum 🙂 As Phil says above, we're having a bit of a WoW resurgence with Classic, if you'd like to pop in and say hello please do, we have a guild and everything. Always nice to have new folks on board!
  5. This is your "bye bye FG" plan is it? How stupid do you think we are? Goodbye.
  6. In that case for the GPU. A CPU upgrade will require a new motherboard and ram, whereas a GPU will slot right in. Going from a GTX770 to an RX580 will net you a 50% boost-ish, depending on game / resolution / whatever. The GTX 1660 will bag you another 7-10% on top of that for a few dorra more, in fact with Newegg's offer you can buy the card for $230 and claim a $20 mail-in rebate, plus it comes with a free game. EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 XC Black GAMING, 06G-P4-1161-KR, 6GB GDDR5, HDB Fan - Newegg.com WWW.NEWEGG.COM Buy EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 XC Black GAMING, 06G-P4-1161-KR, 6GB GDDR5, HDB Fan with fast shipping and top-rated customer service.Once you know, you Newegg! That's personally where I'd be looking if I were in your shoes, however something else you need to consider is the jump you'll be making and whether it's worth it. Saving another $200 will open up the 5700xt which will more than double your FPS and last you a lot, lot longer, but it's up to you. Who knows what another $200 will get you in another 5 years' time?
  7. Humans are all fucking retards, I'm amazed we have made it this far without zerging our entire existence in to a pea sized pebble for the rest of the space creatures to laugh at.
  8. God fucking dammit I'm gonna be playing Minecraft again.
  9. Oh boy! Upgrade tiemz! First off, y u no ping me? Secondly, y u no tag me? Thirdly, y u no maek thred? Need moar infos tbh. What resolution you gaming at? Will you be upgrading to 1440p if you don't have it already? How much u wanna spend? How long does this upgrade have to last? If this is going to last you a good few years, then don't go for less than a 2600x. @Plumbers Crack has the 2600, I'm sure he'll come tell you how it's performing, and he plays at 1440p, so if you game at 1080, you have quite a bit of headroom. Anything above that is budget dependent, with the 3700x being the ultimate, but that's just gravy baby, you don't need anything above a 2600x and probably won't for quite a while (for reference, my 5930k is a 2011 chip, same amount of threads, and still rips everything to pieces). For RAMs I wouldn't go for less than 8gb. Speed is kinda-sorta important but it suffers rather spectacularly from diminishing returns. The sweet spot is 3400mhz, but again this is gravy. RAM isn't one of those things that will last you a million years and 15 processors, there have been some significant improvements in the tech over the last few years and it shows no sign of stopping, so by the time you upgrade again we'll probably be on DDR5 or even DDR6. Maybe even HBM, who knows. I'd say go for 3000mhz minimum, anything above that is gravy again. As for the GPU, there's only one answer to this and that's the 5700 or 5700XT if your budget allows for it. Granted this is a pretty expensive chip but the leap from the cards below to this one is a massive chasm. The $150 extra or whatever you're paying is like going from a beetle to a lambo, AMD really shat all over Nvidia with the 5700. The 5700XT trades blows with the RTX 2070 for half the cash, and nobody makes anything worth playing using Nvidia's party piece software, so don't waste the money on that. If you go for the 5700/xt, make sure it's an aftermarket brand and not AMD's blower cooler as they suck. I'd recommend the Gigabyte, MSI or if you really wanna go nuts, the Powercolor Red Devil. If the 5700 is too much, then the RX580, but I wouldn't go below that. Either way it'll be a MASSIVE step up from a GTX 770, you'll be blown away by the smoothness gained. For a mother board, just make sure you get a B450 or X470 board, the new latest ones are also nice but lack many features at this point. MSI in particular has deals at the moment where you can bag a free mouse or whatever, so keep an eye out on those. Oh and if you don't have an SSD yet, then now's the time to get one. It'll change your life, no jokes.
  10. No, your mum.
  11. @Plumbers Crack's efforts to ignore me aren't going unnoticed 💀
  12. I wanted to type out a bit of a post based on my experiences so far. As someone who played retail extensively on and off throughout the game's lifespan, I feel I am fairly qualified to comment on this. The retail game is, without wanting to sound too politically correct, a load of wank. It started off as a the game we all know and love and slowly devolved into little more than a boring, lonely race to max level. The zones all feel dead and unoccupied as everyone's either in their garrison or class hall, or dawdling in a city waiting for the dungeon queue to pop, professions have had so little love that Blizzard even went so far as to remove some of them (first aid for example). The community is toxic and hateful, the ease at which anything is achieved is clearly not intended to be fun, it's intended to make money. This seems to have happened when Blizzard merged with Activision. I know, shock horror. It got so bad that I was literally forcing myself to play as there was nothing else to do. Everything felt like a chore, there was no challenge, no satisfaction, it was literally just start at point A, do the things to point B, level up, rinse and repeat. Absolute dogshit and a real shame. The return of Classic is so refreshing, it's genuinely amazing to be playing the game I once loved. For the uninitiated, every MMO that's launched since WoW has at some point been "The WoW killer" - yet they've all failed, each and every single one of them. WoW still stands as the benchmark for all the other efforts and the yardstick against which they're measured. The game had fourteen million people worldwide all paying £9 a month to play it. On top of paying for the expansions. This is on one platform. No game in the history of games can claim to have achieved it. That said, the WoW killer has finally arrived and it's driven such a hard nail in to the game that it's very possible it never recovers. That game is WoW Classic. Blizzard has removed all the things that make the game too easy, in fact it's completely back to barebones stuff. No pets, no achievements, no dungeon / queueing system, no quests on your map, nothing. Every single thing you do in the game now feels like an achievement. You have to actually fight for stuff and if you aggro too many mobs, you're gonna die. End of. In retail I could happily chain-pull 10-15 mobs and zerg them all to death, in this, pulling two mobs of my level or even one below can, and often will result in death. Due to this I am constantly helping others out, even if my efforts are for nothing other than their progress. The amount of lives I've saved is insane and each and every time I get a little thank you. This of course happens to me too, far too many times I've been one-hit away from dying only to have a heal randomly appear out of nowhere, from a passing by priest. He'll then often buff me and leave me to it. As I'm a blacksmith I can make sharpening stones and weightstones to help others out too, so I dish those out like candy too. The fact that the servers aren't all just one big soup of clusterfuckyness any more and are actually generally single entities mean that your reputation matters, just like the good ol' days. Naturally being the lovable, affable happy chappy that I am I'm already starting to become known. My little warrior is only level 16 at the moment, but I'm in no rush and am happily just taking it nice and slow and chilling. This means my mining also comes along nicely as I tend to mine everything I find. When I eventually move in to new areas I'll certainly be ready. The community in this game is completely unrivalled. In fact I'd put money on there not being another game out there with a community like this, it's genuinely fun and helpful. The fact it's so nice and relaxed is great, there's no pressure, you can literally just chill out and kill a mob at a time if you want, or join a dungeon and go ham, it's entirely up to you. I honestly implore all of you to give it a go. Spunk the £9 for a month and see how you get on. If you don't like it, I'll personally give you that £9 back, that's how confident I am. @Plumbers Crack you in particular.
  13. BOSH!
  14. Just a heads up that Chris (naereet) is planning something. I have no idea what or when, but he's taking FG down or something, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ First he sent this: Then I blocked him, he then followed it up with another headshot, straight for the jugular: I've blocked him on that too, he's banned from here, I suggest you all just block him on whatever social media you have him on as he's clearly still sulking about shit. I'd be lying if I said I'm not intrigued to see what he's up to, exciting stuff! Just watch out for any shady shit going on, I don't think he's much of a threat but I don't want any of you clowns getting dragged in to his little pity party.
  15. So much fun last night, I was actually sore from laughing.
  16. Flamelash it is, join in peeps! Shortest queue with a decent pop, 25mins wait on a friday night is palatable.
  17. ASSFLUTE!
  18. There are literally thousands of mods and addons for WoW. None of them are "cheats", Blizz is shit hot on them, but they all enhance the game in some way, usually by simplification, categorization or organization of items. All they do is take info which is already in the client and format it to make it more accessible / visible /easier to understand. The ones I use for WoW retail (so no guarantee they'll be on Classic, we'll see) are: Bagnon - organizes all your bags in to one nice big bag, also adds colours to items based on rarity, so greens get a green border, blues get blue borders, etc. I couldn't live without this one, it's always the first one I download. Always. Auctioneer/Auctionator (pretty much the same thing) - Load it up, scan the auction house once, and it'll present you with a tooltip for every item in your bag showing loads of useful info, in particular vendor pricing and average auction price. This helps when out and about to decide if you want to keep stuff to sell, or vendor it without heading back to a main city. Recount - This is for dungeons / raids. It'll show how much DPS every person is doing, as well as healing, damage done, activity, etc. This is hands down the most useful addon in dungeons. It'll help you with your rotations as you can click on your name and it'll show you a graph with every ability and how much damage it does. Invaluable, the gold standard of damage meters. You can also broadcast the numbers in any group you want (say, yell, party, guild, etc). Questhelper - Been absolute yonks since I've used this one so it wouldn't surprise me if it's been replaced / surpassed. It helped with quests by placing an arrow on your screen showing where you had to go for certain objectives. Excellent stuff. Gatherer - The more people in your guild who have this, the more powerful it is. Every time someone mines / herbs / skins / fishes something, it saves that data and can overlay all the points on a map, so if you're grinding mining for example you can load up the map, see where all the spawns are, and formulate a route. Healbot - This is the healing addon of choice for me, it arranges all the people in your raid / dungeon in to a nice grid which shows their health, debuffs, etc. Each square in the grid is a clickable item which is a player in your group, so you can simply bind spells to various mouse buttons, mine when I was priesting was left click = flash heal, right click = heal, middle click = greater heal, shift left-click = power word: shield, etc. Sounds complicated but it's a game changer once you get the hang of it. Tidy plates - Organises all the health bars of enemies around you, shows their debuffs, who's got aggro, etc. Coupled with the tanking addon Threat Plates, this will also show who's got threat on various mobs so you know who to taunt and who to intercept as a warrior. Of course none of these are mandatory and I highly recommend the new folks start with the game as vanilla as possible, you can always add the addons as you go. Best Addons for WoW Classic - Wowhead News WWW.WOWHEAD.COM Addons are an important part of WoW's gameplay, demonstrating the dedication and passion of the community to the game. We prepared a list of addons that you can install ahead of time in your Classic client, so... To download addons, you'll need to download the Twitch client and use that. I'll assplain tonight after some MW shenans.
  19. I played the little 2v2 arena thingy which was ok. It was barely enough to scratch the surface, but it did change my opinion from "lolno" to "hmmmm, this might not such that much after all". Again like any AAA title I won't be splashing on release day or pre-ordering but it's certainly put itself in a better light than any CoD before it. We'll see.
  20. Welcome aboard dude, I knew you'd get your shit together and join us one day 😎
  21. Ten Storms was full earlier, maybe Blizz are tweaking atm. Let's see what tomorrow brings, all hop on Discord and pull the trigger 👌
  22. Blizz have got until tomorrow evening. I tried a few different servers this evening and the only one I could log straight in on was that RP server. The rest were massive queues. Let's see tomorrow, I want the decision made tomorrow evening.
  23. I never even knew you know how to internet. Welcome to the forum and stuff?
  24. There will be a guild. It will be called Forever Gaming and it will contain the most awesome motherfuckers (or fatherfuckers, we don't judge) in the world. This thread is where we will discuss this guild.
  25. Here's a site showing all the current waiting times like a good little website does: Launch Classic WoW Server Queue Times (EU) - Wowhead News WWW.WOWHEAD.COM Wonder how long you'll have to wait to get in on EU servers? This will continue to be updated with the current number of players in queue and the estimated time that Blizzard shows on each server.
