Welcome to the forum, we're the Old Guarde here, whilst all the cool kids are Twittering and Toktikki'ing and Dicsording we're still soldiering on with forums as they're the best way to communicate without having to be the center of attention all the time. If you're going to give WoW Classic a go, make sure you join on Nethergarde Keep (Alliance side) so you can roll with us. We're only a handful at the moment but it's great fun. We're slowly convincing all the console plebs to join us, just takes time as they are quite resistant.

It's funny you say that, because I've actually been watching some vids and thinking it'd be great if it wasn't for the CoD kiddy mentality playing on it. As I've always said with CoD, the games are generally good, it's the insufferable cunts that play it that ruin it. Doesn't matter what game you put them in, they'll be cunts. CoD just caters to it very well and rewards their playstyle with killstreaks so that's where they congregate. Stick them in Battlefield and they'd get fucked.

So what's the state of the car now then? Your dates are from 2017, what state is it in now? I like the performance mods, the bodykit and stuff isn't for me however. I like sleepers and I fucking detest the JDM scene. I like Jap cars, I like jap performance, but people calling their MX5s Eunos' can fucking do one. It's a Mazda MX5. The end.

Why

I haven't started the campaign yet however given what certain folks have told me, this will be the first CoD campaign I ever finish. Yes, ever. I have never finished a CoD campaign. I always lost interest knowing that whilst I was playing solo, all my mates were in multiplayer kicking ass and chewing gum. The MP is growing on me. Some of the maps are complete wank, like who the fuck thought of this wank. Then some are superb, but it definitely needs more and with more variety in terms of colour palette as apart from Piccadilly Circus (I used to work in one of the buildings on that map, dunno if I've told you guys), they're all samey samey. The community is obviously what makes this game, which is why I blend right in, it's full of cunts. Obviously the Auptyk's of this world will say shit like "it's valid tactics" but when you're the only person actually moving around the map, and when you stop the whole map goes quiet, then what's the point of playing? Luckily I'm getting good at dealing with these twats, my ability to spot claymores is growing, my resistance to betties is great (even killed a guy with his own betty, walked up some stairs, it jumped and hurt me but killed him, fucking superb), and my shotgun is great for melting faces of those wankstains who don't seem to have any legs. Anyway, it's certainly grown on me, to the point where it's pulled me off WoW for a bit, but I'm quite keen to give Battlefield mode Ground War a go.

8/10. It's no Oscar film, but it's still fucking superb anyway. Something I really liked was how they implemented certain things in to the film in ways that explains it a bit to the general audience who won't understand what's going on, rather than omit it completely. A lot of things which irritate me about car films which are due to budget constraints and shortcuts were left out of this film, like cars having the wrong engine sounds and stuff. It was all accurate here, the GT40s sounded like roaring 7l V8s, the Ferraris sounded like V12s, it was great. The accuracy regarding the technical aspects of the story, the rivalry and the machines involved was superb. This was very clearly heavily influenced by people who are petrolheads themselves and close to the story, and it shows. Very good, go see it.

And now we're both in a guild called Azeroth After Dark, which seems nice enough. Diddums is now level 24, almost 25. Apart from the Corporal Keenan quest I'm all done in Redridge and have done quite a bit in Duskwood, but still got quite a bit to do. I need to do Stormwind Stockades next, the only dungeon I've done is the Deadmines, in which I don't think there's actually any loot left for me, I've got the chest, the staff and the wand, pretty sure that's it for a priest. I still want to do Wailing Caverns & Shadowfang keep too. Enchanting and tailoring are coming along nicely, I should be on silk bags soon, so will be able to make 10 slotters, however I can make 8 slotters in the mean time if you need any. If I have enough materials I'll make some for @J&B tonight.

He's great, love his vids. I've done a fucktonne of research on this game. At first I thought everyone was joking about the whole walking simulator thing, suffice to say I was more than miffed when I found out it's just that: a walking simulator. I love weird shit in games, but this game just combines too much weird shit. The babies in the bottle thingies, the weird ghost things, the underworld thing, the timefall, these on their own in various games would be great elements, but combined in this game they just don't gel well, and in fact are so disjointed that it feels forced. It's like Kojima just kept having all these ideas over the years and wrote them down, the instead of creating a good game around each concept, he just shoved them all in one game and it just falls flat, all of it. It's a shame because these elements have some serious potential. Just think of the whole Timefall thing in a game like Horizon Zero Dawn. That mechanic would've fitted that whole universe like a glove, but here it's just.... shit. At every point in my research I've been waiting for that POW! moment. That moment when the game just explodes in to this awesome twisted story full of amazing creatures, fights, adventures, and yet it never comes. It's just walking over and over. I also heard one reviewer saying that they were delivering pizzas, I legit thought they were taking the piss until I saw a clip of the game where Sam was literally delivering pizzas. Again, another aspect which is great is the whole multiplayer thing where you never actually see other players but their actions influence your world. This is such a good concept and in a different universe could elevate a game to legendary status but here it just feels like a shit, forced mechanic for the sake of it. It's like Kojima designed this beautiful world and then didn't know what to do with it, so grabbed his notebook full of ideas, and shoved them all in that world, all at once, and then designed the quickest game he could around it, just to showcase what he's done, rather than really exploit it properly. And if we're being totally honest here, let's cut to the chase: This game is being held up by the Kojima name. Imagine if Bethesda released this, it'd be in the bargain bin on release day. The sales of this game are literally being fed by hype and reputation. It's a house of cards, the reputation will only hold it up for so long, eventually the fanboys will move on to the next big thing and this title will crash like a house of cards. 10/10, awesome game.

Classic is ace, and they've just released some PVP stuff if you wanna check it out, but ultimately the best WoW is a combination of both. Lose the flying mounts, dial the gear back to Lich King levels so just regular gear with stuff like enchants and gems, lose the garrisons and class halls, make the professions relevant again, merge a load of servers and ditch the layering, make the dungeons more challenging, etc. The game is superb but it's no longer the WoW I once loved which is a shame. Anyway, where you from mate? We have a few 'Murican members here. Oddly most are in the legal system somehow, maybe they're keeping an eye on us, who knows. We have a cop, a detective, a prison moneyman, actually this is a bit freaky when I think of it. You a fed?

Retail can get fucked. That game died at Cataclysm. This bullshit where your gear is almost irrelevant because of a fucking necklace is bollocks, screw all that. We've just started fresh on Classic, my priest is level 10, we're just fucking about and playing when it suits us (which for me is most days, the rest are console peasants who occasionally elevate themselves to master race status to stem the flow of incessant whinging from me). Join us, level with us, it's great. No obligations, we just do our thing and help each other out, the way the game should be played, nonnadis you-must-be-here-at-8pm-for-a-raid shite. You let me know when you want it and I delete the character, releasing the name. I simply reserved it issall. I was gonna take all his clothes off and dance naked in the middle of Ironforge for a bit but you'll never live that down. I can still be persuaded however. As for a guild, it's like a clan in Destiny. It's literally just a smaller community in which you build relationships, help each other out, etc. It's 100% social, there are no perks to it, it's what you make of it. Every wow player, apart from the hardcores, are filthy casuals. We play because we enjoy the game, we're in no rush to get anywhere, it's all about the journey, not the destination. The fact that the destination has loads of cool shit is just a bonus. The hardcores can fuck off, ain't nobody got time fo' dat. Also I've decided you're going to be a mage or rogue this time, so start looking at guides and shit and decide. One is a caster, the other is a backstabbing, invisible-going, pop out of nowhere and shank you fam cunt. Great fun.

Oh and haven't found a guild yet. Haven't really bothered tbh.

I only say Horde because it's a change of scenery, but if we're taking on some newer faces then being Alliance would be greatly beneficial as we've both got fucktonnes of experience in it and can offer advice on where to go, which dungeons to do, whatever. I had a massive rant typed out to explain what kind of cretins we're dealing with on our server but it's not worth it, so here's what we're gonna do anyway. We're leaving Flamelash because cunts. That's the TL;DR of it. So we need to pick a server, which gives us a few options, the only requirements are PVE, and high pop. Nonnadis low pop bollocks, no more PVP, and certainly no RP, because we all have lives and women and don't need to get our kicks off to fantasies of banging night elves in sheds. @Middle Class Caveman will likely pick one, please post it here when you do. The next choice is Alliance or Horde. As most of us are fed up with Alliance at the moment we're leaning towards Horde. This is still flexible obviously, so chime in. Once we've made that decision, it's class selection time. Personally I'm going priest again, because priests are amazing and piss easy to level and everyone always needs healers. Will likely do a warrior alt because tanks are always in demand. @Middle Class Caveman has mentioned a rogue, druid or huntard, he'll hafta see. @Misneach_ whatcha gonna be? @J&B? For @GazzaGarratt I'd say either a warlock or mage. Leigh played a Paladin up to level 14 so it's no fucking wonder he's not sucked in to the game, paladins suck balls. Maybe a rogue actually, Leigh loves burst damage and rogues are one of the highest bursts in the game. @tronic44 has even downloaded the game, for him I'd definitely say mage or warlock. Mages can make food, water and teleports, warlocks can summon and have pets. I'll link some videos below to help you guys with your decision. @crispymorgan needs to just succumb and get on with it goddammit. The final question is guild, having run our very own FG guild for the last couple of months I can honestly say I'm just fed up with it, I don't have the time to do the recruiting and whatnot, when I log on I just want to play, not fuck about managing shit. I'll happily start another guild but I expect others to help run it and recruit too, not leave it all to me. I've also had many, many people ask me if I want to join their guilds after healing them because I'm just an epic healer (no jokes, I actually really am an amazeballs healer, think Mercy and multiply that by 10), and having played the game for well over a decade now, and known you lot for just as long if not longer, I can honestly say that you guys would be superb in whatever role you decide to play because you're considerably smarter than the average gamer who, let's be honest, would probably lose a game of chess to a retarded tadpole. Here are some vids for inspiration and to help you pick your class: Wille's "Was it any good though" series (very good, very informative). Once you've picked a class, Wille's "Playing to your class' strengths" series is also very good. Madseason is one of the best Youtubers for WoW content. He sounds like he's about to slit his wrists but he's actually very informative and often entertaining.
