  1. oh man, don't remind me of my backlog, it must be 200-400 games and most of them freebies, definitely most of them won't be my cup of tea, but it's still a time-consuming process going through them all and giving them a chance

  2. Another successful evening had with FGFC last Monday, even with harder opposition we seem to have coped well with the regular experience of Monday Night Football and the odd Super Sundays we've had across the past few years. An easy quit gave us an early winning start, followed by a tough 2-1 win against FC Yeazerr. We probably spent too much time talking when Macca realised that Madtekz was one of the previous number one teams in the Pro Clubs on a previous FIFA. In all honesty we seemed to play well but concede every time that had a shot so 4-1 was a tough loss to take but it spurred us on to bounce back immediately with another close win. Some battling performances breaking up the play by @Findmartin and @Antpool84 allowed FGFC to keep an unbeaten streak going that eventually reached 6 games; most needed when we were down to 10 men due to @LordBaguette losing ahead early doors to Phoenix Esports and they dug out a draw for FG. @jordie1892 became a resilient pivot-point for the team as we pushed on to gain 3 wins in a row near the end of the night whilst @James5497 @Luseth and @LordBaguette were having success up top. The 'FG money shot' was probably used way more than this night than previous; @Macca89 assisting once again from multiple corners to the pinpoint heading stats man @James5497, leaving them with 6 assists and 8 goals respectively. Final 2 games of the night happened off stream which was a shame as @Findmartin found his shooting boots, collecting a hat-trick for his efforts upfront. A very tidy win percentage of 58% to finish the night in Division 1 is something not be grumbled at. Mini highlights below as usual along with the stats.

  3. We had some good games but I was reminded last night why I moved toward battlefield from COD. The crossbow kills, akimbo pistols and shotguns are ridiculous in COD at times. The number of times I got 1 shotted by crossbows at ridiculous distances (and when looking at the killcams whilst the player is jumping and hopping all over the place) is just absurd. Same with shotguns managing to take me out at range against my assault rifles and the such. I appreciate for a lot of people this is what appeals to them about COD but if it continues down this path again I imagine I will be drifting away from the game before too long ^_^ Such a shame as I felt it had such a strong start (with the exception of new content, more like the COD's of old). And I won't get into the cheating by those French guys / lasses ^_^ Annoyingly I am not really enjoying the other shooters at the moment as I feel a lot of them have lost their way so I don't feel like I have many options at the moment for that war zone / battlefield esque shooter (especially with Dice screwing up the latest battlefield).

  4. Oh man... My backlog is too damn full. I'm a sucker for a sale, and I've bought quite a few games but almost instantly put them on the back burners with the "I'll play this one next" marked on it. Of course, that never happens and a lot of the time, it was due to Destiny. Seeing as I've stopped playing that, I'm slowly picking away at it, even though I'm forever cursed to buy more during sales. Lol That, or thanks to game pass, something new will pop up and instantly take my time. It's tough being a gamer.

  5. That sounds great man, good idea! What games are you going to be going through? I'm still super interested in playing my Playstation 2 games, so I'd say they're my backlog per-say. Although I've been thinking about trying to stream them as well. I've got NFS Most Wanted and The Simpsons Hit and Run, both which I'd like to record playing. As well as others I want to play more casually.

  6. Although I have several games I haven't played yet, I probably wont ever get round to them - either being freebies or some historic impulse purchase in the sale that I just don't feel like playing. In recent years I've been a bit more disciplined with such purchases so I don't get lumbered with a quantity of games and just waste my money in the long run. Darkwood is probably the only game I have installed that I need to get round to playing. Also RE: Code Veronica on PS5. Recently I've just been revisiting some classics like Gears of War, Metroid Prime and currently Metal Gear Rising. I also have the original Red Dead Redemption to go through and Gran Turismo 4. I found that installing lots of games and trying to schedule them actually stressed me a little and I didn't enjoy them as much but now I'm only playing what I want to play and it's usually only one title I'm focused on.

  8. No offence to anyone that has one. But people are taking advantage of those new PS5 pads, I've massively noticed a difference in jump shot kills recently, just gotta adapt and as @GazzaGarrattsays, hang back, take it slow. I do love me some Battlefield V, might have a few goes on that again soon to change it up, however I've heard good things again on BF 2042 so might even give that a try. However I will say, I have really enjoyed this COD so far, more so because of how team oriented we as a group make it! We run into C***s every now and then but that's the way any game is, we learn, adjust and go again! BIG UP FG MASSIVE! 🔥💪

  9. I don't have a massive backlog. I don't buy many unless I know I will play. When I do buy a game I play it to death until it's done or that. I have plenty monthly freebies stored, but don't often get time to play them.

  10. Where I live we have several park and ride systems but it doesn't work and now most people have 2+ cars per household so it's completely obliterated any positives that could bring plus the car parks only have a certain capacity. It just doesn't work and is ultimately outdated. May be more beneficial in some cities but in others, it just doesn't make a significant difference. It's staggering how many cars are around my area now even compared to just 10-15 years ago. London has also decided to destroy small businesses in the hope of reducing emissions with ULEZ charges on virtually all distribution vehicles plus the congestion charges on top and other cities are trialing retarded traffic systems and other transport methods such as incredibly dangerous scooters. People will ultimately be punished for using cars just to get to work that aren't deemed green even though the clowns that come out with these strategies take 3 holidays a year and only view one side of the story. I think we're 30 years too late to make sweeping changes because the last 15 years have been too damaging.

  11. I'm sure alot of people would settle for some BF shooting mechanics but with CoDs gamemodes and way they package it better. Difficulty with BF is the objective Ground War mode doesn't appeal to as many people as it does with Multiplayer 6v6. (I still never know why BF restrict squads to just 4, its ludicrous in a day where some people want to play in large parties). Last night the glitchy French player was annoying, i'd agree with that. Its probably fortunate we've come across just 2 players actively trying to just win via cheating. As the crossbow is new, you will always find it being used over and above the usual amount as with any new weapon coming out. Similar to when the game started, so many would just use M4 but it does move on after some weeks. We still over 2:1 i'm sure and I think I've worked out that Knockout isn't as good as Prisoner Rescue OR Cyber Attack, so in my rotation it'll get replaced by Bounty more often I hope as we've had some great fun with that mode. Another factor probably just to think about is that we've played this CoD to death for nearly 4 months now - thats the first time we've all done that in FG for about 6 years. At some point other games need to come in to give you/us that breather that you don't burn out on it. I plan to play more DMZ soon as I know i'm missing out on a mode I've really liked so far.

  12. I loved battlefield of old bf4 is my Goat FPS shooter to this day and that's when I moved away from cod. However I was disappointed by bf2042 until recently with it at £8 thought it was worth a try and though it still has some serious issues that have come into modern fps games and the fact I'm a noob with noob stuff I've actually played it for hours and tried multiple game modes and it's a breath of fresh air for now while cod is as it is.

  13. EV is only part of a real solution, not everyone can own one in large part to infrastructure as said above. What I think we will see if there is a real effort to curb emissions and the damage to the planet (which I am not convinced there will be, least not in time before lots of people suffer and die) is it will be a combination of better public transport (if it was good, conveniant and affordable who wouldn't sit on public transport watching tv or playing their switch on the way to work), hydrogen and EV cars. There will not be a single solution.
    3 points
  14. No country on the planet has the ability to support EV's even on a small scale. Sure, many are looking to phase out your petrol and diesel classics in the 2030's but this is just aims to currently appease any climate concerns rather than being a realistic target. Many countries can't even fill potholes in let alone provide significant infrastructure than will cost each hundreds of billions to fit and maintain. If this was planned effectively over a 25 year period then by now it would be in better place but it's all looking like knee-jerk last gasp desperation. As it stands now, there is no clear route to even trialing this in most areas and even then, people are massively priced out.

    Your gaming backlog

I have comitted to getting a new car this weekend and it's going to result in monthly payments so I decided to work out way's I can save money elsewhere in my life. One of my biggest expenditures is my gaming hobby as I often buy games new or buy games when I have loads still to play 😄 So this weekend I started noting down my gaming backlog with the intention that each time I complete a game then I will delve into that list first for my next game rather than buying a new one to help save a few quid. Turns out I have a big backlog, I only noted down physical games as if I include diigital it includes the subscription services and steam and get's rather big. So my intention for the next 6 months is to focus on playing just games I already own, I think I have 2 additional games pre-ordered in the next 6 months but I am going to try and not buy another game between now and August 🙂 So how big is your backlog? Do you actually play games from it or do you frequently say you are going to and never get round to it?

    DMZ Season 2

I’ve been stacking battle rage with a uav then popping the battle rage when appropriate, if you can get a streak it works really well and is extended with each kill. that’s the only real problem with dmz solo you have to be ready to die and lose all your kit, you can quite easily take out a squad if you get the drop on them but if a squad gets the drop on you then you are mostly stuffed. the good thing is that’s it’s reasonable easy to get kitted back up.

  20. I think what your referring to Matt is the classic staple in every Cod. It's the "cheese" There is always something that can be slightly OP until it's nerfed. Crossbow 1 shots jumpshotting across the map, Snipers can do it so I don't see the difference apart from ads and a bit more speed. Marksman Rifles with iron sights are a cheat if a player has really good aim and reflexes. Shotguns are always up for debate, personally I don't think they are overly strong this year. The 725 from MW19 was ridiculous until it was patched. Akimbo Pistols are always going to feel cheap. Personally I find a dose of their own medicine seems to work. People start to cry when you use whatever "insert OP weapon here" they are using and you start destroying them. Cheaters are always going to be in every game sadly. I totally understand where you are coming from @Luseth In COD there is no interigity, just killing and dying and sometimes rage inducing moments.

  21. Well I guess that is a comment in itself which supports what luseth has to say. That gets much harder however once you have two kids and do everything you have to do as a parent. My 26 year old son is the same. He has a license however. My daughter no license either. Both are downtown dwellers so there really is no need for a car. Hardest thing is groceries and everyone delivers these days or UBER it back home

  22. I find it's quite a fashion trend at the moment for governments to just mandate things rather than promote and fund good ideas and investments. Twisting the hand only makes people double down. I've always lived by the philosophy that if an idea is good it needs not be forced. A flowing river will always eventually find the fastest route. I wish I could comment more on the actual subject but I don't own a car (or even a driver's license) and don't plan to anytime soon. I'm quite happy cycling, walking, getting the bus or getting a lift to places.

  23. I'm sure @Macca89 will agree with you, but I think CoD has it's perks over BF. I've never been big into CoD until I played a massive amount of Warzone during the first lockdown. And I do understand that people will always take advantage of the quirky mechanics in the game but I think that's part of the game being competitive. People are always looking for the upper hand. Now don't get me wrong I completely understand how it can feel annoying and unfair, but I think you're a good enough player @Lusethto find good way of counteracting those approaches. I know a good way @GazzaGarratt deals with it is by simply playing the objective instead trying to get 100s of kills. And I've also found this helps especially when you look at how good our Win Loss ratio is.

  24. This is key, nothing has been done since humanity discovered the damage it was doing to the planet. Any steps now are just being done to try and keep the masses quiet and ticking along. It need's sweeping changes not just to the way we travel but our whole society and it need's to happen in the next couple of years not by 2050. I do not see it happening. It's not just transport that need's to change, it's the products we use and moving away from consumer goods, it's where our food comes from (we should all be growing some of our own), it means reducing our meat consumption, it means reducing the number of humans on the planet and it means each human need's to be putting more into the planet than they are taking from it. All of this need's to happen whilst also having the rich (it would likely have to be the end of capitalism), the oil companies and such trying to put down everything that could result in them making less money. But yeah I think I will leave the conversation there. I think everyone appreciates change is required, how we go about that change is often not agreed upon but I don't think anything we discuss on here is likely to be drastic enough to reverse the damage done and being done to our climate. I suspect we will carry on as we are, people will die and those that are left will have to learn to live with the damage and it's all quite grim and sad to think about especially when I know it's my children likely having to live with it.

  25. My only issue with moving away from owning their own vehicle and it's something that's brought up alot tbh and one issue I think those in charge are trying to achieve by pricing people out of vehicles is that I have vehicles I drive for fun it's something that's overlooked. Also there are lots of people that tow caravans etc. Around here they are moving more to a park and ride system to cut city congestion. As an example for me I'd have to catch 2 buses or walk half an hour to catch a train where by car it's 15 mins.
    2 points
  26. The other maybe byproduct of a better public transport system is it would open up the roads for those that can't or simply don't want to use public transport cutting congestion and local emissions. One of the things James says in the first video is that EV should state cut local emissions however an argument could be made that they aren't any real good for the actual environment due to the materials and production.
    2 points
  27. But how often do you travel that far? I don't know about your situation or Canada's but in the UK the average journey is only 12km. I know for me, out of a 250 mile range EV, I could get around 6-7 regular weeks of driving out of it before I'd need to charge it. That's not to gloss over the other problems with EV's, of which I agree there are many, but range is often given as an excuse when in reality, the range of EV's easily covers 99.99% of journeys. Hydrogen fuel cells are arguably the better solution than pure EV's as they can have significantly higher range, quicker to refuel and you don't need a drive / garage at home. The big problem with Hydrogen fuel cells though is efficiency; as in the energy you get to put to the road vs the production, transportation, transmission losses (substations, pylons etc. not gearboxes) etc. From whatever power source we use to produce hydrogen, only about 25%-30% of it actually makes it to road whereas pure EV can skip a lot of those steps making them about 50%-70% efficient. Now we could just burn the hydrogen in an ICE but you then still have all the problems of producing the hydrogen in the first place and burning hydrogen still produces things we don't want like NOx emissions so that's out too. EV's have a number of problems especially when it comes to electricity generation and infrastructure on a large scale. But they are crazily efficient when compared to other options; 2-3x over hydrogen fuel cells and more like 4x to ICE, so I struggle to see an alternative to EV's.

Just not getting maps that are conducive to it. I get 1 or two kills per rage, then it expires before I find anyone else. This is where you need shipment/nuketown kind of maps. I think I am 10 kills aways so plenty of time still. Will see tomorrow what the two new challenges are. Did you notice if we can mix and match the quest items? Some from MP and some from WZ? I was thinking of just doing the 5 contracts instead as its a hell of a lot less boring that trying to get kills with a kit I never use

  34. I'm very disappointed at the state of both franchises now and both are way below the level expected and that what gamers deserve. DICE completely ruined 2042 after already fumbling BFV woefully and MW2 is let down by some utterly dismal post-launch support and corruption. With so much experience and money on both sides, it's astonishing to see how badly they've fucked up both games. The fact that less than 15,000 at one point (near release) were playing BF2042 and if MW2's player counts are to be believed (they look credible and come from reliable data methods) then the state of each game is reflected in the low populations. Battlefield looks like it will turn things around under new management but this will only be truly seen on a brand new title. COD isn't in as bad of a place but the franchise is really taking the community for granted and mugs but that will change now they've seen such a huge decline in interest. Pity there aren't other developers out there directly competing because the last 18 months has left huge opportunities for something fresh and ambitious to replace these tired old series's.

  36. I don't disagree it requires a change in mindset. However for that a good system is needed as people already have it good in terms of moving (although the environmental impact is bad) In Ottawa - Busses have their own bus lanes, so the traffic impact is minimal - We have an LRT. It's ridiculously unreliable. So much so that there was a provincial enquiry into it and the Mayor and City manager were accused on incompetence. - The city had recently invested $6B into that system and yet you cannot go North/South using it. Only east/west. There are a lot of people south including our Airport. However money is going in but the results are not what people want/need - The system is designed to take people from suburbs to our downtown which is where most federal/city employees and the 2 universities are located. That's great for that group. Horrible the others. There are of the others. - With people's busy lives of dropping off the kids, going to work, picking up the kids, taking them to Hockey/Soccer/Karate, going home, cook dinner, do the homework people are just not willing to sacrifice that extra time to bus it. You get a hell of a lot done with those two extra hours a day. I think the ideal scenario for us would be that your first insure vehicle should have to be an zero emission/Hybrid vehicle. Most people have two cars or more anyways. Then you can get whatever you want. I think in this country it would have a impact without changing people's lifestyle too much. Most people have relatively short trips where they can charge daily.

  37. It goes hand in hand though doesn't it? Public transport and it's reliability issues. If more people used public transport rather than individual cars, it would mean less traffic on the roads allowing buses for example to run more on schedule and to also run quicker because they are not sat in traffic. More people using buses means that more buses required and with more regularity. It is easy to blame it on poor public transport but it does require a shift in attitudes from the populace as well does it not? I am not sure how it works in the US but here if they put on more buses right away to try and improve the system all that would do is put more traffic on the roads and make things worse, people won't suddenly one day go oh there are more buses I will start using them, they will likely carry on as they are and those additional buses would take up more space on the road and likely be empty. It requires a mentality shift as well as investment and improvement in the services.

  40. Should've definitely gone for it with his feet. I don't think it's always a red card if a keeper handles outside the box but any deliberate handball from a keeper or denial of a goalscoring opportunity will aggravate. I think here he's guilty of both after a pretty calamitous decision to head the ball. Poor defending though - how many times have we seen Alisson to Salah from a kick to a one-on-one breakaway..
