  2. Another solid evening last week where FGFC had reached the dizzy heights of Division 3 earlier than expected, we now faced tough battles against opponents that would be pushing our current ProClubs players to their limits given most of us are still in the early levels looking for more Skill points along the way. FGFC's first game was clearing out the cobwebs from the week before, coming close with a few chances from the 3 up top @Luseth, @Ally and @LordBaguette but somehow finding ourselves 4-0 down without playing that badly. Clearly taking chances was going to be something we needed to do to have any chance staying up or even pushing for another surprise promotion. It also doesn't help if @Macca89 forgets which player he is on the pitch...😅 Whilst losing the first game, our shooting boots were back on for most of the night as we nicked 2 goals back in a 4-2 loss. What then followed was an unbeaten run of 8 games, including 5 wins; an incredible achievement with most of our Pros still in the low 80s. Some clean sheets had too, and it always helps when a team bossing us unfortunately had a bad connection at half time and couldn't carry on 😅😎 Great to see @Ally getting on the score and assist sheets this week as she's been close to getting some on previous weeks. A pearler of a volley on one of her crosses from 'Hamez Rodriguez @James5497 in an emphatic 4-0 win against I Cusentini. A bit of game management from Pat De Groyne @jordie1892 in the 91st minute against Unsrs FC would've meant 6 wins out of 8...but it was well worth the giggle seeing another epic FG fail. King Assistmaker @Macca89 had yet another fruitful night with 16 assists; only thing stopping him from 17 was some late trickery from Wacky Hair Queen Matty @Luseth, dazzling us with some fine red highlights this week. Promotion was eventually secured with a final game remaining to try and win Division 3 title. Fatigue had finally sunk in though in a 5-3 loss to Invictus CF. Can't argue with a 50% win loss ratio by the end of the evening. Some great highlights below captured once again. GGFG FGFC Squad players across the evening: @James5497 @LordBaguette @Ally @Luseth @GazzaGarratt @Macca89 @jordie1892 @Antpool84 @Findmartin **Strange 4-5 second delay at 14secs but everything else is fine. Thats what you get sometimes with Twitch Highlights it seems!

    Season 2 Delayed

It's not nearly impossible. All regular 6v6 players want is 3/4 maps every new season. I don't think that's an unreasonable request. Even if it was 2 new and remastered then I'm sure people would be fine with that. This season is just a poor effort. 1 remaster and one that was removed from the game to start with. That's just not good enough when the game launched with few 6v6 maps in the first place.

    Hogwarts Legacy

This turned up a day early for me yesterday so I managed to get a few hours on it so just giving my initial thoughts on it and I will begin with the negatives, the introduction section seemed a bit all over the place if I am being honest, it was trying to set up the story but did so badly I felt. The combat did not really feel too taxing, in fact I was carrying out the combat with one hand at one point just pressing the same buttons repeatedly and switching between a couple. The voice acting is very mixed in terms of quality, some of it is brilliant and you can tell have been done by some great actors / actresses, some of the students however have not been and it is really noticeable. The visuals are as you would expect, it all looks brilliant and the way they have done Hogwarts, Hogsmeade etc look brilliant. I think they have nailed it. Once the introduction is out of the way and you reach Hogwarts then the game blossoms. That said the game itself is exactly what it needed to be, it's a magical world where you can explore Hogwarts. It is all about the setting, little things like a watering can watering plants all on it's own or owls flying ahead or the way you might come across some magical creature. It is just brilliant and genuinely I have a big grin on my face playing it. Just like living out a part of my childhood again. I can see why it has reviewed well and it is down to it being Harry Potter, if it wasn't it would have scored around 7's out of 10 I reckon at first glance ^_^

Like Phil said the other day, keep it civil @cyberninja2601 @J4MES OX4D so we can keep on having good debates of late. I enjoy the game and I can realise others won't but hope that others will also try to see both sides too so we can have a good debate about the bits that people feel aren't so good. Just keep it about the game and not individuals, goes for everyone this does. Fanks 🤗

I don't mind withheld content as long as we receive 100% of the base game to start with. MW2 is probably 40% complete on launch and by the time 12 months is up, then maybe we'll get 100% of a game - something 10 years ago we would get on day one. As the year wore on, we'd then get another 50% of a game to enjoy through paid content. Vanguard last year released with more content than any other COD game and that should be the expectation for every release going forward - MW2 launched with 66% LESS 6v6 content than Vanguard which is insane. There needs to be a minimum entry threshold and something like 16 original maps with then 4 new ones per season guaranteed. The only maps they are probably holding back right now is ones they can pluck from the Warzone 2 one and I think they are winging it in every other respect. I also don't buy into the logic that because they are supporting other MP playlists within, that means content quantity should be spread - I don't want to lose the prospect of 3 6v6 maps in return for an extra Ground War map for example. There's no reason why we can't have 16 6v6 maps, 6 Ground War and then 2 Battle Royal ones right out the gate and why they can't produce 3 new maps and a GW map on top. There are more developers than ever working on these titles backed by insane budgets compared to what the franchise had a decade ago so having less content and it being spread more thinly just doesn't suffice for me and it's absolutely killing the game right now so much so, it's going to be very hard to bring people back. The post-launch support just isn't up to par - season delays, unclear roadmap and a lack of content and this is on top of a sparse launch. The likes of Epic already have Fortnite's 2024 roadmap completed yet Activision now seem to be toying with whether to launch COD 2023 as DLC or a brand new game. This is just no way to run a franchise or live service and what's tragic is this is actually a good game underneath - it's just let down by an awful seemingly non-existent forwarding strategy which should not be expected by such a longstanding and experienced series.

    COD 2023

Big leak from Tom Henderson which suggests COD 2023 will now be a full premium game release and possibly MW3 made by Sledeghammer who are already the confirmed developer. This would make sense - rather than having a DLC for MW2 which may be dead in the water by then, they reinvigorate interest by rebranding it and just making it the final game of the trilogy. Will definitely need to have more meat to it that just being an expansion with a new name if this proves to be the case but SHG are very capable of delivering original content of a decent quantity. 17. I am not sure I understand your question but if a person tries to invite another operator the person from the squad the accepts it added to your squad. Other members need from the other squad to see the invite and accept as well. Otherwise they remain enemy operators It think I read that you have to be within 50 meters for the invite to be seen. So if all members of the squad were to send an invite and you were spread out it would be viable to invite 3 people for 3 different squads I believe. Although unlikely When I see I squad, I just send the invite which can be dangerous as they will know you are close by. However I tell them to accept or I will snipe them. If they don't I snipe one and tell the remaining ones to accept and they can revive their buddy. If they shoot back, no mercy. I would say it works 90% of the time. There is little advantage to killing an operator (except for some missions and a calling card). There is a huge advantage to squading up as 6 people to do any of the missions is a huge advantage.

I agree @IRaMPaGe, I definitely think they are holding some maps back. I think its like what I said on previous threads that developers break the game up now to deliver over time so it feels like fresh (not always new) content is delivered because its nearly impossible to meet what gamers want on the regular fresh content drops.

Since when is Ground War 6v6?😂I only care about the paid component of the game developed solely by IW - the ONLY part of the game they produced. I bought the game in good faith because it comes from experienced devs of a franchise I regularly play and had a promising foundation as outlined. Sadly me and millions of other gamers have been badly let down and as a consumer, I have the express right to complain. What I criticise is perfectly valid issues and nothing that established franchise partners haven’t already complained about either. You have literally Activision’s own content creators telling them their game is a bag of shite. it’s nothing compared to what is being said on Twitter so don’t get so deeply offended by it. Oh and sorry, I didn’t realise just because people supposedly didn’t play (nonsense) Vanguard on here, I cannot praise it and Sledgehammer for their efforts? What sort of fucked up logic is that. No need to get jealous over praise of another game jeez. Also as you don’t play the paid MP portion, what right do you then have to lambaste anyone who does play it of their concerns? Bit weird gatekeeping part of a game you don’t even play. Stick to playing bots on freebie DMZ made by another developer. That bears no relation to the MP. Oh and because I also don’t like Forspoken, I am apparently ‘one of the most toxic individuals’😂 you may want to head your head out of your arse from the COD section and look elsewhere on this site. Really not sure why you’re so protective of this game - it’s almost like nauseating 2009 fanboyism all over again. No thanks to that.

I thought it could be a nice idea to collect some DMZ tips in the same space. Please post your DMZ tips below!! I'll start. After dying when starting a fresh deployment never take your insured gun in with you. You have no gear so you have nothing to lose take a basic contraband gun if you have to but wait until you have at least a 2 plate vest to take your insured gun into the game.

  28. Yeah absolutely, the hardcore nature of it is what attracts me, and that's definitely not for everyone. You can go into a raid with nothing but a knife, they are called 'hatchet runs' and can be fun too 😁

  29. I’ve looked at and considered Tarkov however I feel as it seems a bit more hardcore, more technical and with much more depth which honestly is a good thing but for me I like the party style nature of DMZ. Whereby you can still have a good match even if you enter with nothing.

there is no way to guarantee it, you can try and cheese it by having two parties attempt to join a game at the same time, then once in the game someone types something into the match chat and see if you can see it, or compare the number in the lower left corner during loading this is a match session specific number.

  31. In Tarkov, in between missions there are traders and also a flea market to buy and sell weapons etc You also start with an equipment locker to stash your stuff, which you can make bigger by expanding your hideout. But yeah, if you do badly you can lose your gear, and if you keep doing badly you can run out of money. This does cause a phenomenon known as 'gear fear' 😁 But you can also play as an AI character once an hour to go in and scavenge loot for your main character.

@cyberninja2601 ah what I meant was could you find a way to get more than 2 of your friends (not randoms) in the same game/match so you could somehow group up as a full 6 that are friends e.g. 6 FGers in a PlayStation chat and start the Search button at the same time, etc. Destiny had a similar thing where we tried to get 9 of us all on the same Patrol Zone on Mars so we could complete Escalation Protocol together, which was insanely fun for an hour or 2.

  33. Cool. How hard is it to get replacement gear if you were to lose it? In DMZ it's really not that big of a deal in the end. Once you know the good lot areas you just head there and do a mission to get better stuff back

Sledgehammer created 20 original maps in 14 months of development with 10% of the staff IW had at the time. IW created several decent original maps and other real-world ones for MW2 that were met with legalities but soared in detail so they are perfectly capable but something is clearly butchered with the post-launch support. It's possible that most of the team have been moved onto the next project and all that's left is a skeleton crew of asset designers. Black Ops 3 already had an open SDK of this and custom maps have been a thing since COD 4. People have even created custom zombie maps and even full campaigns. I've probably played on about 70 custom maps through Plutonium and other clients using a mix of the old Q3 engine up to the ID tech used in BO3 and some of the originality and imagination that goes into these maps is amazing and that's because it's made by passionate long-term fans. Some have even built high-end asset libraries for more complex and detailed environments. Sadly this material will never make it into the core and it would be seen as the developer's passing the buck, but it's entirely possible to concoct quality maps from scratch without having to recycle anything. A new mainstream open tool would be beneficial for the more ambitious creators but I don't think it would integrate well in the game itself. Even Halo Infinite Forge has really struggled and that's supposed to offer a decade of material.

Yeah I was just stating my favourites from BO1, I didn't expect to get any of these in this release because of the crossover of games and developers. It's funny you mention Dome tho because it was originally a Treyarch World At War map. Infinity Ward used it for MW3, Think Sledgehammer used it for COD Ghosts? They definitely used it for Vanguard. Then IW use it again for MW2. I would say Dome is the perfect crossover example as it's been used by all 3 developers. No map has ever been crossed as much as that one. Although rare it can happen.

I sometimes wish we had a developer insight into this. I get the thoughts and wishes, I really do. But none of us have created maps from scratch and the process it takes to get one into a working game. When other games have shared this process of brand new map design, from AAA games like Overwatch and Destiny, they've been very honest in how long it takes. We've never had 3-4 new maps on Overwatch, Destiny or any other multiplayer game that I can think of in a 3 month window, and every 3 months at that. The only one that could possibly do that type of regular content drop is Epic with Fortnite. But thats got 2 factors; 1) Their game has very basic formats to it and not a 6v6 multiplayer game (One gamemode so tweaks to one very big map) and 2) they love to crunch their developers as past news has shared. Here's an interesting thought that could've been a separate thread - Would people go for their very own map creation tool in CoD? A bit like what Doom has? Its clearly using all the same assets but looking at where Fortnite has become so popular, its in its homebrew games that anybody on the internet has made and people go for that stuff like its the Toy of the Century sale at Christmas. I think our demographic here probably wouldn't care too much as we want stuff into core basic playlists, but after all in the end we're talking about one gamemode essentially (6v6) and thats not much more you can evolve that type of game.

  39. Its a real shame thats the case. Its like the game has really set sail into oblivion (not a bad pun I must say 😄). I do miss that mobile game you could play to ship and ferry resources around through the day whilst the game was off. I'd probably would've just taken a Pirate Simulator game by now.

We may be missing something though about the fact that this one is made by Infinity Ward so returning maps are likely to come from only their assets than the others. Its why Dome is back and I would expect Rust to come in eventually as James mentioned before as they did create it. I wouldn't know if maps have crossed over between developers but I wouldn't expect much have, if ever. Whether we like it or not, the Developers are asked by Activision to churn out a new game every couple of years which means they dedicate a large portion of that time to the Campaign and re-use old assets where possible. If you don't re-use assets its widely known brand new games take around 7 years to create, especially AAA games. So within a few years they focus efforts on what Activision want. Yep, old maps after a while are annoying if thats all you get but thats where I'd expect a new map every so often to balance out the map pool. I don't see that from FGers and most other places I read about CoD. Damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I want to be clear I don't like whats happened to most CoDs and the model that Activision have been following for years. What we all agree here I can largely see is that CoD needs a culture shift under the hood to a different type of Multiplayer development pattern, maybe one that matches the likes of Overwatch. But what we can do is also realise that this isn't where they are now, so I'm looking at this game on its on merit on how fun the gameplay is and how much content we have to play on it. Season 2 looks okay. Not bad, but not super great either. I think sometimes we'd all do ourselves some favours if we could open our minds to how it feels on both sides rather than just saying a game is crap 'just cos'. I see the same thoughts in how Destiny was over the years and it turned out stronger. Not sure this franchise will go the same way, but for right here right now, there is no surprise to me why so many FGers are enjoying a CoD game for once, and maps not being new won't change that feeling a massive amount. Maybe by Season 3 though it will as burnout starts to hit if the game goes too long without enough variety in the game. Meaning New and Returning content btw 🙂

Of course you can compare game modes and maps - we buy the game and have a certain level of expectation of what we are getting for that money. If the game launched with 100 multiplayer maps yet all the textures were shitty low res do you think people would be praising the number of maps or complaining about the textures? You may not implicitly buy the textures, they just form part of the whole as maps and game modes do too. You're getting caught up in the details though, I'm not, and have not, praised Tier 1 itself; with most people preferring core I haven't played enough of it to really have much of an opinion. But if they just release the same TDM, Domination, FFA etc. for the next 10 years but with new maps you aren't buying a new game you're buying a £60 map pack. Which is exactly the criticism CoD took a lot of flak for not so long ago. So what I'm willing to praise Tier1 for is that they tried something different, not that they succeeded, or that they shouldn't revert back to regular HC, but simply that they tried to give us something more than a map pack. In the same vain as adding Warzone and, more recently, DMZ. They have play testers but there isn't really any guaranteed way to know if something is going to be a success (Warzome, DMZ), or will alienate the community (Tier1), until it's launched to the wider community. Now again, me saying that doesn't mean I agree with the small number of maps or them re-using old maps as new content - I don't. However if they add actual new maps and you don't like one or all of them you are going to complain about the quality of them, as would I. But your criticism of Tier1, that it's needless and pointless change that they shouldn’t have done, is more equivalent to saying because the map(s) are rubbish they shouldn't release any new maps again. Which is nothing but rubbish and flies in the face of you spouting off wanting new content. Clearly the solution is you should go work for Activision so they can make sure any future changes are James approved.
