    Season 1 Reloaded

This is actually my first cod battle pass too but thats because its the first cod i've owned with a battle pass, I played consistently from cod4 but stopped playing at ghosts at least if you play consistently and complete the battle pass you don't have to "buy" (at least not with real money) any more battle passes because of earning the CP back.

  3. i really loved crisis core on the psp, it's also the only final fantasy game that i have finished, sometime i will play another to completion, but the story, the sacrifice in the end, sephiroth, everything was really awesome

    Season 1 Reloaded

My first battle pass too. Figured for 8 quid and as you say you earn enough to buy the next one it's ok, definitely wouldn't have bothered of it wasn't the case.

  5. I've been enjoying multiplayer solo all the way to prestige 5, Although recently I've been playing more DMZ, the change of pace is quite interesting. I didn't think I would enjoy the game mode when I first heard of it as I'm not really into Warzone I only really played it for the m13b but now I am enjoying it so I guess for me having that challenge linked to DMZ was the correct thing to do.

  6. Not yet but part of me believes I will. I have Crisis Core for the PSP which is a fantastic game on that device. If its been enhanced then it feels like its worth a go...although I'd rather get a physical version if they do create them at some point in the future as I assume its digital only for now? You completed already too @Luseth ??!

  7. Love this thread. Early days I actually felt like the Sega 6 button controllers were incredible. Sega Saturn had it spot on, whilst my only 3rd party controllers I ever really got on with, was for my Mega Drive. Hate to admit it but the SNES controllers were unbelievably class, so lightweight you don't realise until using controllers in today's world and then go back to them. Outside of these in later generations I was one of the very few who absolutely LOVED the old huge Xbox controller with the additional white and black button. For some reason it worked so well for Halo. The smaller versions they made afterwards were also incredibly satisfying to hold. The Gamecube was also one of my favourites, however the yellow right analogue stick, if you can call it that, was abysmal. I loved it had this weird extra button on the top which was the Z button. The new PS5 controller is probably something I should add because of the haptic feedback concept. Feels amazing on certain games. On the flipside, it probably didn't help that I never grew up with one but that N64 controller can stay in those golden ages. Anytime I've tried to go back and play an N64 game its a nightmare. So strange but get that some will love it like i loved the OG huge xbox one on my own 😅

  8. I'm glad it feels okay to you. I play a few games whilst waiting to see who comes into the party and they aren't that bad either. However, I don't think I could play on my own all the time on there. The ability to chat to teammates (especially FGers) that want to help take down UAVs, VTOLs together ASAP, even if they won't get spotted is a general pleasing feeling. As soon as everyone works out K/D means shit the game plays far better. The only stat I enjoy progressing is my and everyone elses W/L ratio.

  9. Thanks for sharing @slamminbones . Jedi Fallen Order should be one for you all to pick up. My son had it and it was a very well made campaign. Good combat too. Funny how we've been talking about Fallout 76 as well recently. Add it to the library. You never know if we might get a server in the future.

  10. I was thinking the other day how many controllers I've used over the years for each system. Picking a fave is not easy as most have done their job based on the device and games it was intended for. Thought I'd pick out a few that I've used over the years but tough to choose which is best overall. PS1 pad was amazing for its time and influential for many years to come. Loved the D-pad and buttons. Start and select were a bit weird to press but it did the job perfectly. N64 was very advanced at the time especially with the 3D stick, a solid D-pad, shoulder buttons, Z-trigger along with the two standard plus yellow directional ones. Didn't use the d-pad much from what I remember but the 8-direction stick was really ideal for the likes of Goldeneye and the array of platformers. Dreamcast controller was pretty awesome - fit nicely in the hands and much smaller than it appeared in pictures. Full 360 degree stick with solid grips too. D-pad was a bit too tight and raised for my liking though but was fairly under-used in most games plus the coloured buttons also felt a bit cheap. The VMU/memory card aspect was also pretty interesting but devs didn't make much use out of it in the end sadly. Microsoft Sidewinder - got this for Christmas around the early 2000's. Bit weird on the face of it but it worked surprisingly well. Had a strange 3D-type D-pad that was slanted slightly which was fairly unique even to this day. My only gripe was the lack of coloured or clearly marked buttons. Very comfrotable though. Playstation 2 pad was just amazing - expanded upon the original with pressure-sensitive buttons and twin sticks - these didn't have much grip and were perhaps a bit large but they worked pretty well. The first Xbox pad was way too heavy for my linking - I didn't really like the white and black buttons as they were too small and dug into your finger. The vibration also made a buzzing sound and the coloured buttons felt a little elevated and cheap. Can't remember how the D-pad was but the sticks were solid enough. Seemed a little over-engineered but with tweaks, future Xbox ones were spot-on. Gamecube controller was very strange - every button was bizarre and the D-pad and right stick was just so oddly placed. It didn't really have a detrimental effect on the games and the main 3D stick was fine but it just seemed a bit of a mess. I don't quite consider the Wii, 360 or DS3 pads retro as of yet - all excellent and highly reliable controllers. The Wii was really unique in what was a bit of a fad of the era despite monumental success. The 360 and PS3 controllers were both excellent and remain the key foundations for pads today.

  11. Have any of you delved into it much? I had a brief experience with the psvr when it first came out and I think I went in too hard and put myself off it, ultimately sold it and have not been back since. However I got a deal on a refurbed Oculus Quest 2 the other day and my first impressions have been quite positive, a big improvement over PSVR, the controls are brilliant and it has additional features which are useful such as being able to double tap and see what's actually going on around you when needed etc. I do need to work on my VR tolerance now so I am going to spend 10-20 minutes everyday if I can just having short experiences while I get comfortable but there are a number of games I want to try on it as well as wanting to try and model some architecture / building services in it as well (so try and explore the productivity side of things). So yeah, has anyone else tried any of the headsets, what are your good / bad experiences?

  12. So they have re-released yet another Final Fantasy game and I picked it up as I tend to do, I did not give origins any time really but imagine I will try it again at some point. This one however was originally a PSP title, they have done a fairly decent job though of giving it a new life with the visuals being uprezzed and in some instances redone and the combat has been improved. It play's quite well, I suspect the only downside might be that it is a short game compared to a typical Final Fantasy release but it provides some of the villains back story to the FFVII games which is good to delve into. Has anyone else picked this up?

    Dual Sense Edge

Awww man. That sucks. Still usable, but not as appealing as first shown. I've got so used to wireless controllers even though they probably don't really need to be given how far I am away from the consoles.

  14. For me, VR just doesn't suit me. For some reason I feel like its extremely gimmicky for the price tag and the games you get with it just don't do much after the first 5 minutes of that 'wow' factor. Reminds me when 3D came out at the cinema. Great concept but never flies because everything is lost in the sub par graphics and basic movements you can only get with VR sticks. I'm hopeful for PSVR2 though - more for my son who loves it. I personally think it hits a great spot for people with sensory needs. It can send feelings that their brain can feel extremely stimulated from. AR is the thing that people have been saying for 4-5 years will be the dealbreaker. Remains to be seen clearly still, but I was definitely more blown away by the Magic Leap that Rich @tronic44 worked with than the PSVR. Based on what people above like from VR, I think the games you enjoy are also a telling factor as to whether or not you'll get on with it yourself.

    Season 1 Reloaded

First time I've bought a battle pass on a CoD game. The season has been pretty decent tbh. Some blueprints are quite nice to use and Shoot House revamped map plays really well. DMZ being released in this season with a potential 'Raid' to do too is a great addition to the game. Overall, I can't fault it much at all.

  17. Yeah, thats how i see them getting done Matt. I was referring to standard MP maps just don't work for longshots.

  18. HARD agree with this. Maps work really well for most games and objectives you play for apart from the one Longshot objective. Very rarely get any.

    Videogame Magazines

The first magazine I used to buy as a kid was Amstrad Action. Purely for the cassette you got on the front. Then I jumped onto Mean Machines and when it split I'd also buy Mean Machines Sega and Nintendo Magazine System.

    Modern Warfare 2(022)

I have platinum launchers, I've shot some shit down. Soon as I die to ze choppa or VTOL, I'm straight away switching to an LMG with Cold Blooded. I blast 75-100 rounds into it and it's not dead, but close to it depending. For extra effect, add the armor piercing rounds that boost damage vs vehicles. You can have those pesky flying bringers of death down in mere seconds. And Ghost for UAVs. 🙂

  22. Sounds like the Machine Pistol from Vanguard. Shreds up close, but kicks like a mule at range. It did have a burst barrel attachment which fried people at distance. I suppose the X13 doesn't have such a delicious option? Just have to suck it up and die a ridiculous amount of times I'm guessing. 😂

  23. I played solo since it came out and I don't see a problem. Just get your own VTOLs or choppers. I run the UAV, predator, Sentry most of the time and I don't see a problem. I have a K/D of about 1, a W/L of about 0.9 so I am not getting obliterated. You just can't play shipment and expect a objective based match. Everyone is in there to get the level ups. camos and other chalenges. The other maps have been pretty reasonable.

  30. Yeah longshots are just tedious, my least favourite of the grind. I have experience tho doing them all the last 4 Cods. Vanguard was 100 per weapon, 40-50 guns. Like 5k longshots, disgusting. 😂

  31. They are. Just most of the maps aren’t really good for long shots. Then the ones that are is just snipers. I’m lucky to get one or two a match

    Evil West

Ok. After spending some time with this over the past couple days, here's my thoughts. There seems to be a trend lately with having gameplay zapped in from the early 2000s. Visually, the game looks great and while the story is interesting, it gave me a lot of Gears of War vibes in the cheese department. The gameplay is straight-up, old-school 3rd person action-adventure from a very poor perspective that makes tracking enemies challenging. If the camera had some more distance, like Devil May Cry, behind it, I feel the action on-screen would be better conveyed. A lot of encounters, specifically some boss ones, have that annoying old-school rule of constantly throwing tons of ads and projectile enemies at you that draw your attention constantly away from the boss at hand. A few either at the start or somewhere in the middle that are finite would be fine, but having them constantly respawn is just lazy game design and honestly ruins the fun in what could have been a great game. If this released in the early 2000s, it'd have probably been a GoTY candidate. Wait for a big sale or even a freebie on this one and save your money.

  33. As far as I know the Longshot range are just the same from previous games. Here is the minimum distances required: Shotguns-12.5m Pistols-20m SMG's-30m Assault Rifles-38m LMGs-38m Marksman Rifles-38m Battle Rifles-38m Sniper Rifles-50m
    1 point
  34. Yeah I may have to do the same. Ground war is a sniper haven though. Not sure if the distances are different. I usually get them done in HC though. Without a true HC it’s gaming it difficult

    Favourite Controllers

The Sega Saturn and Mega Drive 6 button Controllers made a pretty cool fight pad, having 6 face buttons matching the Street Fighter 6 button system, Otherwise the PS1 was the first truly comfortable controller for me, Then I was sceptical of the 360 controller initially coming from the PS1/2 but this has probably been my favourite controller.
    1 point
  39. For me it was the Xbox 360. Fit my gorilla hand’s perfect. Led to very little fatigue like PlayStation controllers did. My second favorite is probably the PS5. Same reason is it fits my hands well. However I do wish they made one like the Xbox thumb sticks.

  40. On C64 it was all about joysticks, which usually got destroyed by games like Track and Field and had the word Thrust somewhere in their name 🙂 But for consoles it's got to be the SNES and N64 controllers that brings back fondest memories. Never been a fan of PlayStation controllers until the new one for PS5. Which is amazing. As you say, it's not quite retro yet but for me the various Xobox 360 controllers are my favourites of all time.

  41. The PSVR was my first experience in to VR and it was great and it convinced me enough to go for a proper HMD. Due to my large head and IPD my only choice was the Index, which if memory serves, is the same resolution as the Quest. They're definitely a massive step up over the PSVR in both HMD quality and controllers. I've only really played Half Life Alex on it and the rest of the time it's used for racing and rallying. I do sometimes wish it would be more portable/wireless as it would have been great to take to Wales for example but the tracking accuracy and high refresh rate it hard to pass up. As for good and bad, I can't say I've had any bad experiences with it and only got motion sickness a couple of times. Though both were exception cases; doing corkscrew roles in No Mans Sky and using a 3rd person camera in ETS2. Though it does vary person to person, my Dad has had a few goes with VR on my racing rig and after a few minutes has to stop. Though I have read a number of people saying they've been able to build up a tolerance by playing a little each day until they can play for longer and longer. As above, I bought mine with the almost sole intention of using it for racing which I think simulations are the best use for VR. Though I know a few people who enjoy things like Beat Saber and games like Superhot in VR too. There's a couple of of FPS games which look like fun but are apparently quite difficult.

  42. Had a go on Magic Leap a few years ago thanks to @tronic44 Absolutely amazing. I get dizzy from PSVR but I'd have a go on Steam's VR set up as the higher refresh rate apparently mitigates the motion sickness. @Greboth can tell you better on that!

  43. Well I played the riot shield today and it's bloody amazing. It's also hilarious how people panic when they see it. I went on some pretty decent kill streaks on Shipment with it. I got to say it was a lot of fun 3 hits is not that bad. Can't imagine how good it must have been pre-nerf I got it to level 13 in 3-4 matches

  45. I agree that cheating skins should be nerfed. But I completely disagree that skins and decorative items are the problem... I love buying the occasional skin and I know a lot of casual gamers that feel the same way. Seems a much better system than these gambling loot boxes.
