I finish work this Friday as I've booked the rest of the month off, so have plenty of time for gaming. I might do some streaming on Twitch next week and I've a few games lined up. I'm feeling the draw of Rimworld again and I want to spend some time on either Mount & Blade or Crusader Kings. Plus I want to check out the updates to Valheim as I've not played it in ages.

Christmas tends to give us all a bit of free time (with the exceptions of running round to visit family). So do you have a game in mind to play over the christmas spell, do you tend to pick christmasy games or is it just whatever's next on your to play list? I have the remastered Final Fantasy Crisis Core turning up soon so imagine that will be my go to game over the christmas break. I should have the platinum trophy for Spiderman this week as well so should have space for another game to play until it turns up so depending on what it is, imagine it might extend into the christmas break. So what games are you guy's going to be playing? What have you set your sights on?

Unreal. How in the world did you swindle that amazing amount of holiday?! Fair bloody play mate. Christmas list wise, i'll be taking a look at whats available for Santa/Wife to bring if i've been good. FIFA 23 should be on the list as its pointless getting it beforehand. I just want more time to play in general so i can get back into Destiny for the next season, more camo challenges on MW2 and trying to find some Fridays and other days to make a few group up nights so we can all get together for some laughs ahead of Christmas. That'd be ace as its Fridays have been off the menu for a while since we had the meet up and also now World Cup/Xmas duties to sort. I also would love to find a little time to even start a solo campaign, maybe MW2's one. I've got so many to try though it could literally be any of the top ones across the last few years. FG Fridays with Fall Guys, Among Us, Wreckfest, GTA and maybe MW2 private games sound like a good time to me at the very least.

If I buy Dwarf Fortress on Steam, I'll probably be playing a lot of that. Still got the Command and Conquer Collection to work through plus I still have to grab God of War Ragnarok at some stage. American Truck Simulator is also my go-to game for relaxing so I imagine I will be doing a lot of that too especially with the recent Texas expansion. Other than that, there's really not much knocking about plus nothing in the Steam sales seem to entice.

I would second this, it gives you the console aspect, it's portable but if you wanted to, could also get a dock up and running to use it as an actual computer as well.

No special plans so it will be mw2 and destiny filling the gaps. I am planning at some point to get sniper elite 5 on the pc probably, I do need to dust it and remove the cobwebs 🤣

Nice little topic to start @Luseth 🙂 I am hoping to complete Guardians of the Galaxy as i'm halfway through that at the moment. Same as @GazzaGarratt, probably wont be getting Fifa 23 until just after Christmas. I really want to get GoW Ragnorok and Callisto Protocol too, but they will probably be post Christmas purchases, so may pick up a copy of Witcher 3 since i never completed it and the ps5 upgrade is available on the 14th December. Got Cyberpunk to dive into as well so may get a start on that over Christmas 🙂

That rail gun is ridiculous. Good to hear its becoming much more of a stable game. It may see us return one day soon perhaps.

Turns out I've got 4 camo's unlocked. I just didn't realise because the UI in this game is utterly shit and it's hard to keep track of things.

It's one of those games I would have liked to have picked up, more of the batman games but with co-op should have been something really good. I imagine I will try it at some point but the reviews have certainly put it on a wait until it's below £20 game now which is such a shame.

Don't take anything away from Senegal though, the first 30 minutes was as much because of their tactics / game management as well. They set up to defend and then nick a goal, they almost managed that as well. We only went on to a comfortable victory because we got the first goal and they had to attack then and it opened up spaces for us to counter attack. Had Senegal's first goal gone in and then Senegal sat back and defended the rest of the game I am not so sure we would have gone through. That said thrilled with the result, France will be a tough game next but I feel there will be goals at both ends of the pitch.

I'd consider going for a SteamDeck, as building a PC has become pretty expensive. It really depends on the type of games you'll expect it to be able to run though to be able to recommend anything.

I've given this another try lately, and it seems to be much better then launch. You can FINALLY silence that damn narrator from speaking every single bit of dialogue in the game. The PS5 version just dropped recently and holy hell, does this look amazing on next-gen. I'm really digging this now. I won't compare it to a No Mans Sky resurgence, but it's enjoyable at least IMO.

Once I've finished up with the battle pass on MW2 which I'm hoping to in the next couple of weeks. I'm planning on reining back the Call of Duty and playing some Batman Arkham Knight and Red Dead Redemption 2 over the Christmas break. I purchased them both in various steam sales but haven't played through either of them yet. Looking forward to it as I enjoyed the first games from both series.

Croatia beat Japan 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra time. Great effort from Japan and an unforgettable group stage but my god do they suck worse than England at penalties!

@Greboth Looks like I ended up with specs that were really similar to what you were suggesting, which is quite encouraging given I just took the sales guys word for it and bought his recommendation. I normally don't do that at all lol. Also cool to hear the graphics card is that much more of an improvement over the 480 I didn't research this stuff at all but I'd imagine he's going to see a huge improvement. Personally I think GTA V and Witcher 3 look incredible on what I have now so I'm excited to see what 4x improvement looks like. Couple of other questions though. I can always take out the 6650XT from that system to replace the 480, and buy a much nicer card if he wants it. Are there considerations with how the GPU "fits" with the CPU? The 12400F that this new setup comes with isn't very expensive, so will I not get much bang for the buck with an expensive GPU and limited CPU? I don't know if you're supposed to keep CPU and GPU at similar price/performance levels or if it doesn't matter at all.

It will be good for slow fire rate or low damage weapons. Things like LMGs and Battle Rifles it will help a lot with.

That's good to hear, this was one of those games that looked great and had some real potential only for it to be somewhat lacklustre on launch. A lovely world created but it was pretty empty from what I read. I will give it a go now it's coming to ps plus for sure at some point.

I'd agree that Asilo feels like a map where if you're aren't on the top of your game all the time, you end up getting trounced due to the flow of people holding up the windows and lanes near the open courtyard. Whilst still the worst map for me is Border Crossing, its not as bad as first thought out. I actually think Prisoner Rescue works well on it and its always quite funny at the start of a round seeing everyone from both sides rain in grenades to the point to get an early pick. I also think this Shoot House design is probably the best i've played. They've done a great job of making it feel new and the surrounding scenery makes it more difficult to just get kills from usual places.

Yeah, I had to change my tactics playing solo, and sometimes just extract with what I have instead of pushing too much. That way I almost always extract. I do still take too many chances with the ai and need to avoid getting shotgunned in the back because I didn't check a corner... @James5497 let's definitely sort something out 👍

Really happy for Southgate and for the players he brought on throughout the game. They all played their part. Very patient and needed to be in the group stages. Senegal isn't an easy task at all considering they are the African Champions atm.

Will have to try and jump on with you one evening if you're up for it — really been wanting to try the DMZ mode out! I suspect the time limit is to try and push the quick and chaotic type gameplay, but I agree it still seems quite a stretch from the gameplay I've seen.

I have been doing it solo, which I quite tough, and I've only managed to extract a few times. Mostly go for the strongholds. I wish there was longer than 25 minutes as that seems to a bit short, particularly when the the exfils are on the other side of the map.

Finally got around to playing some COD this evening. Four hours went by in a flash. It seems I'm massively addicted to the DMZ mode. Absolutely love it.

A new game mode coming to celebrate the World Cup. Apparently like a Rocket League style mode for COD. Modern Warfare 2 is getting a Rocket League-style mode WWW.GAMINGBIBLE.CO.UK What a wheely good idea.

Water is wet, the sky is blue, and there's a sniper on the wall on shoothouse. Always. And they'll always be on your team and always have 1 cap which they got when they ran over the home flag to get on the wall. We'll be losing obvs, but it's ok because Single-Braincell-Simon went 5 and 15 with one cap but got a sweep noscope. Great fun when they're on the enemy team, such easy kills. When they're on my team I like to make sure that there's always smoke in the middle of the map.

Haven't played it. Doubt I ever will. I used to love playing CoD games online, but I guess I'm tired of rage inducing games. I'm happier bumbling around barren wastelands and casually shooting zombies. I'm not sure if the games got more annoying, or I just got old/boring, but I just can't stans the nonsense anymore.

I would say MW2, MWII and MW3 Blops where nicely designed games but always ran like shit for me. The connections were always awful for some reason. MW2 the first I played and my son was the one that wanted me to get it. I think he was 13 at the time. I remember telling him, what ever you do don't let your mom see that no russian mission or you'll never get to play a video game again Marathon, Lightweight, Commando with a magnum and tac Knife. Pure gold My best streak ever was doing that on Quarry with the predator, harrier , pavelow

Personally I like this system. Forces people to play other guns. Otherwise all we would see if M4/Hurricanes. You have to have challenges and you can manage with the attachments that are provided to you. If you want to use a certain gun, there are few things you won't get but it isn't game changing.

This guy is a complete idiot. Gary did you play MW2019? If so do you remember the weapon grind in that? Seventy fucking levels for a gun. Took weeks just to get a gun to max level let alone going for camos on guns if you didn’t play several hours a day. Even then the grind was stupid. Then the damn camo unlocks were horrible. Getting 100 long shots for ARs. The weapon leveling and camo grind is extremely easy in this game. Most guns only go to level 20. Think the highest I’ve seen was 24 maybe. What they did do is if you unlock a sight for say the M4 l, it’s unlocked for every gun that uses that sight. Same goes for every attachment in the game. Once it’s unlocked that’s it. No more having to unlock the same sight or laser or surppressor again and again. It’s a one and done. That’s a hell of a lot better than having to get every AR I like to a lever 60 to unlock the one sight I like. It’s made easier. Yes they are making people use guns they typically won’t use. On that I can say well I guess you don’t want to use that attachment. I can level up four or five guns in the time it took to do one in MW2019 or Cold War. For that I say thanks

I don't know how the hell I missed these games when they initially released, but god damn, are they fun! Imagine Link to The Past if the perspective was a bit more isometric, had a hand-drawn art style, and the main character was a cat, and a dog in the sequel. I finished the first game rather quickly as I just couldn't put the controller down. It's one of those games that doesn't need a multitude of systems and other BS most AAA titles have to be enjoyable. So far, the sequel is just as good but with the addition of couch co-op/online co-op. Right now, you can grab both games on PSN for $10. Worth it IMO.
