  1. Well I know I played the worse mission because I played the all. All the missions names with rewards are available. Which one was the worse mission? There are number of them. "Ghost team" with the boss battles and you allies crouching in the corner jerking off for me was the worse. I don't know how you can do that on veteran level as it is such a cheat by the AI "alone" was probably next. Too long, too pointless. For fucks sakes Ghost if you know where I am how about coming over and helping a brother out man. Another ally crouching in a corner jerking off. Almost felt like trying to win an objective based game with randoms

  2. Our Friends Adrian bought one and has let us borrow it until next week. Mostly to help Sarah get over her cold quicker. I really dig this machine. It's comfortable in the hands, all the buttons/analog sticks are easy to access and don't feel out of place. I really like the dual touch pads. It gives that mouse kind of quickness and control with something portable. I think I may have to buy one for us.

    Dual Sense Edge

Reading about this on other discussion boards, quite a few people said they were already using ExtremeRate back buttons. So I thought I’d give them a go and so far so good. If you want to be able use L3/R3 or the touchpad button on the back buttons you need to do some soldering. Otherwise it’s basically disassemble the controller, replace a couple of ribbon cables and put it back together with their back on. I went for the 2 button version as only really care about jump and duck being. I fitted it yesterday in about 40 mins and only tested everything works but so far so good.

  6. What also shocked me is it takes literally 12 missions before you actually have a level where you can run and gun without having some on-rails gimmicky event dominating the mission. Even then, the next mission after that is a stealth+crafting one which was utterly painful. Also got sick and tired with the amount of enemies that wear body armour in the very few missions where you're actually shooting - the developers literally have a hard-on for Warzone fodder nonsense in this game. The tank boss battle was also hilariously bad - you wouldn't see this amateur garbage design even in Call of Duty 3. The oil rig mission that I was really looking forward to turned out to be nothing more than musical chairs with cargo containers too! Every time I get to a new mission and think this looks interesting it turns out to be nothing more than rage-inducing trash with some tacked on garbage mechanic or infuriating combat encounters with bullet-sponge enemies. The checkpoint system is also a joke - on some missions it saves literally every 15 seconds even if you're just about to be shot and on the worst missions you can be set back many minutes of torture.

I need to invest more time into putting up some garden threads. This is great, thanks for sharing @Luseth . My mum has a love for gardening and I do too enjoy seeing lovely gardens, just never knew where to start. I'm probably more into growing nice flowers than vegetables, etc, but you are tempting me to restructure the garden so we have a small patch for growing some things. I think it would help the kids too learn new things. Where do you get your flower seeds from?

  8. Fair play @Greboth, I just don't think I could spend time doing that...and knowing full well I'd screw it up too 😅 If there are replacement parts for the most common areas that gto wrong, then this controller might not be all bad. The £20 replacement sticks make it sound like it may be something that we could work with.

Wow you got lots of veg there, I’m to old for an allotment, I have enuff with garden, can I ask? What’s the purple spike looking plant called, it’s very nice. Like ive said, I just plant and pray, mostly they do seem to grow, but I couldn’t say what each flower is called lol. I have taken some seed pods from some plants for next year, not really done much from seed, just normally buy from shops or garden centre.

Yeah it's really quite peaceful, when the weathers nice there is a lovely view from our lot as it's up on a hill. We also had strawberries, tomatos, pumpkins this year and I still have leaks growing. Generally we keep the allotment for bulk growing stuff though as it's a 15 minute drive and fuels not exactly cheap so keeping it to a trip a week is ideal and next year we are going to put more veg beds in at home and try parsnips, carrots and the such.

Im afraid i dont have too many phoros, i will upload the couple i have but its before things are really growing. I do have a few photos of the produce we got back this year so will put them up as well. As for carrots they are actually quite difficult to get to germinate, its not something i have tried but you have to keep them wet for around 20 odd days i think. Soil is often key but yeah im happy to offer some advice 🙂 on the veg side most of my knowledge i have learnt from older allotmenteers at the site. The garden at home where its mostly flowers and such i have learnt just by having a go, I lean towards dahlias as my go to flower and i have a couple of photos of some of my favourites from this year so will get some up tomorrow too 🙂

  23. The majority of elite controllers are always pricey. Now, if these things have the track record of say SCUF controllers and just break down or fuck up within 30 days, that'll be another thing altogether.

  27. I tried Steam Deck early and it's AWESOME! this is ltt's first hand's on experience it seems great and you can connect to it a monitor/kb/m and close to 60 fps on doom eternal medium and it's not completely done yet
    1 point
  28. Sure so long as it doesn't impact on the rest of the production. Otherwise games might start being produced to a lesser standard to be compatible with the Steam Deck.

  29. This does look interesting, even though it only outputs at 720p. With this being the case though, what about text on screen? wouldn't that be a little small? I imagine if you play certain games, action adventures or FPS, this should be great. I already see mention of Civ on this, but do you think it would work? I have Civ on the VITA and that's a watered down game compared to the full game, I can imagine the resolution and screen size alone wouldn't be ideal for them types of games unless they are designed with handheld in mind. Then there's grand strategy games like HOI or RTS games like Company of Heroes, them I can see as not being ideal for something like this. So it'll highly depend on the games you play. The concept is awesome though, price tag not so much. Although if you can load other apps on the device, having GOG Galaxy installed for some of the older titles would be super cool to have on the go.

  30. my main concern is that it runs a linux distro and even with all the advancements they have made in the gaming scene on the linux side still many games are unplayable or have subpar performance and also you have many programs that don't exist there and i am not talking about office/adobe ones that are unrelated to gaming but modding tools for example are non-existent there and some games almost require them
    1 point
  31. Yep, this is the draw for me. I've quite a few games like Civ, Anno, WH40k etc that would get a lot more play time on a handheld.
    1 point
  32. Depends on the game, don't need more than 30fps for Civilisation type games for example. What it offers is choice. If they get it right and properly support it, it'll sell by the bucket load.

  33. Is this that intrigues me like we spoke last night. Although looking at the cost currently, I do think its a little on the steep side. I totally get this and I think it makes sense depending on what games you like to play 'on the road'. When it comes to indie games which are the main games i'd probably play on hols, I don't have much care for them so I usually end up buying those games on PC where they are really cheap (or free) and keep my switch for unique games that are available. If they could bring the cost of the largest memory down to as close they can get it to 300 they might have a chance but considering next gen costs around 400-500 it needs to be more competitive to push people to buy this instead.

  35. Turns out the Steam Deck's final spec is now more impressive than Valve first listed | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Valve corrects the Steam Deck specs page, and its massive memory bandwidth is hugely important for its performance.

  36. Probably nothing significant and there's the added wow factor of seeing huge games being played on a handheld which should override any visual downgrades that do exist. 60fps is also another major factor especially seeing that we've been playing most games 30fps on the PS4/XB1 and those couldn't reach full 1080p potential.
    1 point
  37. well there will certainly be a visual downgrade but if your next option is to give at least double that then it's more enticing, but we will have to wait and see until it comes out how it truly performs, i really hope it becomes a viable cheaper alternative to giving 1000-2000 for a full tower pc
    1 point
  38. I really didn't think of it that way when I saw the handheld being announced. Its now making me think it could be a good investment at some point, as some PC games I would rather play on my holidays as to when i'm at home. Is 720p that much of a downgrade from 1080p on a screen that size?
    1 point
  39. So, yeah... if anyone wants to buy me one of these, I'll gladly accept! lol I think this thing will be huge. I can see people doing all sorts of things with this. Should be interesting!

  40. Users who were eligible to place an order couldn't because it said they weren't allowed and when instructed to refresh the client, they could then place the reservation but it would then say they made too many purchase attempts and get kicked out😅 Valve's retail operations are so outdated and unreliable it's horrendous. They will sell out of the Deck so they wont care about these issues but they really should hire a proper distributor with a credible purchase framework because this in-house regime they have makes me so uneasy.
