I did really enjoy our time on this game when we played it last time. Anywhere else that explains how much they've expanded on the story at all @phil bottle? This may be a decent one to start some multiplayer story progression together again if people wanted to try this out now? Guessing the survival PC lot may fancy some group up sessions on weekend maybe.... @TurboR56Mini @RenFengge @Tar-Eruntalion @tronic44 @Diddums @crispymorgan @Greboth and anyone else fancying PC survival group ups, what do you all think?3 points -

What a birthday present for me, now what am I going to play when they close their services as I open my present?! In all fairness - good concept, bad timing. Launching just before Covid, with rising prices and rare availability of technology they needed really didn't help its survivability.3 points -

I'm surprised it didn't boom after Black Flag was released. Strike while the iron is hot and all that shit. We could've had Skull & Bones 4: Treasure Galore by now. With shit tons of micro transactions for $3 dollar sails and a bundle of wood grains for your ships.3 points -

Cloud gaming in general is really hit or miss. While the idea behind stadia was good, the implementation of it was an utter mess. At least the controller is fucking awesome. I still use that for PC gaming when I'm not using my Elite controller.3 points -

Yep, there was no real key benefit in choosing that over owning a traditional physical copy or licence on an established device. Not only do you burden your internet as well as requiring a constant connection, you also had to pay for the service and then a hefty price just to access the game. No platform-transferable cloud saves either so you were locked in. Instead of paying £100 for the console, £100 a year for the sub and then £50 on most older games, you may as well own a game on an existing system for £15 with the only stress being disk space. Other key games were also ruined by latency. The writing was on the wall early as Google stopped marketing it plus they didn't explore or capitalise on any unique opportunities like being able to offer game trials to prospective customers as a purchase enticement. They let it rot and it just became a system that sat awkwardly behind the Xbox and Playstation. They could've really pushed it especially with YouTube and its partners seeing that Google owns that also but instead all the marketing mostly came from negative publicity from owners or the media.2 points -

Obviously with the ultra wide monitor its got more pixels to chuck about, but it handles it nicely. Alex has inherited my old rig, but I'd like to bump the GPU up a bit, the 7600K is a nice enough CPU for what he plays so no drama there.2 points -

I think for a casual gamer, there won't be an issue, but having played remote play, I can tell you there is lag. I can't see hardcore gamers going for it.1 point -

Progression already causing concern I played Overwatch 2 on a new account, and the hero grind sucks | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM With a limited set of heroes, I felt boxed in.1 point -
I think the mounting aspect and the mechanic not really the problem. It will make the matches get campy because everyone will be doing them. It will be forcing people to get an obscene amount like 50-100 kills mounted every gun which slow the whole game done for months after launch effictively. All the techniques you suggested can get a bit cheesy if overused. However using some now and then, at optimal moments is just useful and worth it. I do agree everyone has a different amount of time to play it. Some people put in crazy hours on it. Some like myself only get a chance to play a few hrs a week. The important thing is your having fun with it. Like I was saying I enjoyed the Beta actually. Just things that are or aren't in the could make it for the better or worse. The game has potential, I'm afraid Infinity Wards stubborness to not listen to various customer feedback could be the downfall for some. Not good either creating negative feedback before a game has even launched.1 point

😉 Yeah, its falling into significance this game unfortunately. However, every time I see it, I get the urge to go back to Black Flag... 😅1 point -
Crouch kills do just happen sometimes, but mounted is intentional boredom. I swear every decision about this game is tactically done in a way to slow the flow of the game. Also to close the skill gap between noob and higher skilled players. To punish flankers and rushers, to promote camping. They literally want everyone to not leave their spawn all game and ads down a sightline. And to buy skins and cosmetics from the store. It's quite disgusting actually. They have the opportunity to create something fantastic, but are pissing it all away. Haven't watched the video yet, but there are numerous things they have decided upon to ensure people play slower. I could start listing things of, not just now but maybe later I will.1 point

I think I shat myself rather quickly when i jumped on for my first few hours on Sunday, seeing those massive spiders and one that went to start coming my way! The looks are fantastic and as opposed to all other survival games that we're playing right now, it does give something different through those cartoon-esque graphics, crafting system and story mode within the co-op game. Very Green Hell but not as gruesome. For an early access game it has a lot to offer straight off the bat. The only things that have been a little annoying is the UI as you can get stuck working out what to press as there doesn't seem to be many shortkeys for things like crafting, etc. I'm interested to see if the story grips us all and also if there will be some form of skill points, etc in the future.1 point -

It’s full co-op campaign with a proper story and what I can only imagine is plenty of items to craft. This is already shaping up to be one of the best games I’ve played, it plays so smoothly and looks incredible. Also it’s somehow still in early access, even though it looks like a finished triple A game. Jumped on to play with @phil bottle yesterday, we’ve started to set up a little base by the pond. Still got plenty to do as we haven’t searched everywhere and still have all the story to do. Also if you’re out at night time, it’s actually bloody scary 😂1 point -

What are they doing about all the 5G networks they're losing to Corona? I genuinely think Amazon could do what they want, when they want to. So its surprising AF that they ended up with this as their final product to market. Haven't they even thought of Amazon Prime membership connections as a good incentive to play it?1 point -

Hahaha what you on about, Ighalo? 😬 Completelt agree with what @Diddums said, there shouldn’t have been any hype about this but people now a days see something new and think ‘ah this must be the bestest thing ever otherwise why would people make it’ If people have the cash to splash on this shit then fine go for it, it’s the people who can’t really afford it. That’s what annoys me about companies like this, they’ll take your money for fuck all. Fuck you Google, get better.1 point

Sorry, but anyone who fell for this is an idiot. Gaming history is littered with failed hardware launches. Google's history is littered with failed hardware launches. Internet infrastructure is littered with failed projects. This whole project was covered in flags from day one, there was literally not a single reason to get excited about it, and yet here we are. Anyone surprised by Google's fuckup is delusional tbh.1 point

I'd also agree about the plastic part, maybe this is where they should start reusing plastic (if they aren't already) i'd like to think that most copies would be on someones shelf rather than in the bin. You definitely correct about our infrastructure, it's fucking applauding in this country but that's not a surprise. Look at the state of us.1 point

Seems it will likely be a streaming-only unit. It'll probably be a subscription service as well. Don't like the idea of streaming games - I know it's fashionable to steam everything these days, TV, music and probably soon to be food but games are a no from moi. I'd rather have a physical disk or a full digital download than some expensive data-chugging platform. The big 3 companies and even Soulja Boy have this market cornered.1 point
