So week 1 is out of the way, and the Falcons did what the Facons do and blew a lead in the 4th quarter AGAIN 🤦♂️🙄 Green Bay getting beat by the Vikings was surprising. Looks like this could be an eventful season. How did everyones teams get on?3 points -

Looks pretty interesting but as mentioned in the video, the marketing behind this game has done it a complete disservice - I just hope people can see past that and that the game delivers to its potential. If anyone hasn't seen some of the marketing on social media in recent weeks, don't bother as it's absolutely mortifying.2 points -
Marvel Universe - Phase 5 & 6
Riff Machine and one other reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
A little while ago they release Phase 5 and Phase 6 for where the MCU was heading. Marvel Phase 5 Marvel Phase 6 (currently) I think its been a hard run to follow everything that ended Phase 3 for the MCU. The Avengers Infinity War and Endgame was quite the culmination of an era and we've all probably felt that downward slope in emotions with Phase 4 at certain points - Not sure what everyone else thinks? I do have faith though it will pick up again but expectations are set that it won't happen for quite some time. Maybe even until Phase 6 starts perhaps but I hope some of the films in Phase 5 can bring back the excitement I felt watching nearly every film in Phase 2 and 3. Blade is the one I hope that will return some good feelings, although I don't expect it to tie in to the major MCU story going on. Just not sure at the moment that some of the series shows are working for me. I really struggled with Wandavision, Loki was slightly better but didn't excite me as I first hoped. The others like Ms Marvel just feel like they have a different audience to what I want to watch which is totally understandable; just brings more of what I say to the forefront of my mind. Lets hope Wakanda Forever will seal off Phase 4 nicely and leave us with some exciting feelings for the future. Whats everyone's thoughts?2 points -

Tbh, its already started to do the job for me as it was to help me get more into the NFL game in general and i was really interested over the weekend. So much so, I think i'll find a game to put on in the background next time and try and follow some of my players. It probably also helped as I maaaaay have had a little help from @TigerBurge for who to look out for 😅😎 @Findmartin , looking forward to playing your 3 kickers next week 🤣2 points -

PES turns into eFootball - and F2P
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
I just can't work it out. Right now, just churning out the previous PES version would've been next to no cost for them and then they would've received a ton of money for it, plus staying relevant in the football gaming industry. Why would you throw away all that coding, hard work and multi-functioning parts of a really solid game because later PES games are still solid....for something that resembles the equivalent to a PS1 Demo? Mind is blown.2 points -

PES turns into eFootball - and F2P
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
UFL Football has been delayed until 2023 (probably a year from now if we're lucky) and I am really not convinced by it. The devs are way too quiet and evasive, and when a game can't provide worthwhile updates or gameplay footage in any state, it just adds to a suspicion that things aren't going well behind the scenes or the game doesn't really exist in much of a degree. Looks like we're gonna be stuck with FIFA rebranded and this eFootball shite for years to come. The roadmap of eFootball seems to be them slowly working towards what PES2020 was so if they keep as it is, by the year 2025, they would have remade PES2021 again😂2 points -

I have both Xbox and Switch, just afraid it'll be shit and not age well, in terms of gameplay rather than graphics. If it's a complete remake with modern shooting I'd be all over it but I don't think that's the case. The original is up there with the all time greats of video games, I loved it. Don't want to tarnish my fond memories 😁1 point -
PES turns into eFootball - and F2P
GazzaGarratt reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
The problem is they took PES as far as they could under the Fox Engine which saw PES 2021 release as a season update rather than a brand new game. People were then under the assumption that them moving to the Unreal engine was to realise the next gen potential however it's been clear that this was a bait and switch and it was simply to bring the console and mobile versions closer together. Now Konami look like utter planks trying to roll with a mobile game on hardware pushing 4K. Only way they can truly salvage something is if they move to Unreal Engine 5 and work on a proper current gen title but doing this will mean they have to separate from mobile. This will definitely go down as one of the worst decisions ever made in the history of gaming - 7 years of hard work and keeping toe to toe with FIFA all undone just because they thought people wanted a shared console v mobile platform rather than a groundbreaking football experience. It's also utterly idiotic that you can't play more than 5 minute matches plus there's still only 9 teams. I can understand them not having the balls to charge full price for such a stripped down version (demo as you say) but the F2P model is not worth anyone's time. Given EA an open goal for the next 3 years at least I'd say and they will be milking the shit out of their next game without having to adhere to FIFA brand regulations.1 point -
Marvel Universe - Phase 5 & 6
GazzaGarratt reacted to Tar-Eruntalion for a topic
Phase 4 has been a hit or miss for me thus far. Black widow should have happened many years ago but i enjoyed it enough, especially florence pugh's character, the eternals was kinda boring even though it has a cool premise, shang chi ws good but i feel like the third act was kinda weak, i really liked spiderman no way home but for me it showed how much better the previous 2 spidermen were and i haven't seen doctor strange and thor yet As for the series, having read the house of m, the comic that wandavision was loosely based on i was expecting something better, i really hoped we could see creept wanda like the first times we saw her before she became good but now being deranged/insane be some kind of cosmic/magic horror show, not the boring sitcom we got. The falcon and the winter soldier had bad antagonists with the flag breakers, they made zero sense to me, but i liked the patriot at least, loki was good enough but again the cast carried that show, hawkeye was decent for me. I liked moon knight and all the archaeological stuff in it and the cast was great, i really hope they make a new season for it. I feel like ms marvel took too long to tell a very simple origin story and it kinda declined in quality as it went and she hulk has been fine except for some stuff like 4th wall breaking that don't work for me with her and it kinda feels aimless in general. I hope they succeed like with the infinity stone saga but i think they should have had a hiatus for a few years and also not make as many stuff and stretch it out a bit cause many will get burned out1 point -
I don't tend to follow news since I don't have a PC that would work well with new games. I do visit at least 2 other forums where gaming is discussed though, so most news comes from them. For Nintendo on YouTube, I only watch SwitchUp but mostly for the sales videos about the eShop. I do use Reddit daily mind, so do come across a lot of news there.1 point

Ahh the dlc. In these games the dlc is usually a big step up in quality than the base game. Artorious of the abyss gave ds1 good bosses and difficulty. The crowns gave ds2 amazing bosses and very good and unique level design. The old hunters added difficulty and variety to bb. Ds3 does not continue this tradition. The ds3 dlc is still amazing but it’s more like the best of ds3 as opposed to a step beyond. It contains two bosses in my top 5 and one of witch is my favourite of all time. The level design is of the quality of cathedral in terms of difficulty and uniqueness. I would highly recommend it if you enjoyed the base game. Now onto specifics. Dlc 1 is on the shorter end contains 1 very large area and 2 bosses. The first of which is an okay fight with a small guy and a large wolf. It’s relatively easy and not that original but it’s okay. The level is quite challenging and unique. Probably my favourite snowy level. The final boss of the dlc sister friede and farther ariandel is my faviourte fight to date. It’s a long 3 phase fight but each phase you can master individually. The first phase using invisibility well while introducing some tells and timings that will be useful in a later phase. The second phase is one of the best duo fights that has been done by from. Both this a demon princes make me wonder why people look back to the shit show of a fight that is Onstein and Smough as an example of a good duo fight when ds3 has much better (and actually good examples). The final phase is a fight that dose long combos well without being boring. There are lots of possible moves all of which are punishable. Love the fight it’s a masterpiece. Dlc 2 is a longer dlc that dosent quite reach the same highs. Dreg keep is a cool use of verticality and the ringed city revel looks awesome rivalling anor londo. The ring city itself is quite challenging and long. The boss in this dlc the gets into my top 5 is demon princes. It’s an easier fight but it’s an example of a duo fight done really well. The cycling agro is really cool and you can learn to types of play to speed up the fight. (Targeting the aggressive one and targeting the passive one) then you can keep damage on the same prince the whole fight. Then the second phase is a impressive fight and the switching moves based on kill order is a cool mechanic. The other main bosses in this dlc are midir and gael. I’ll start with midir. He’s a large dragon which when you learn the fight is awesome to play against. There can be a lot of trial and error to learn the fight though. This is fine for a boss and can be fun. However he is placed weirdly at the end of a long boss run which is not good for a trail and error fight. Also it’s clear both him and gael are fights designed with max healing (or close to) in mind. This my skew my opinion on them as my fights were on a much lower amount of healing. Gael phase 1 is amazing and then each of his next to phase look cooler than the last. Unfortunately they also get more and more boring each phase. Phase 2 can be okay if you play very aggressive but your almost guaranteed to take chip damage doing this and this took away from my limited healing. Phase 3 is just baiting out the same 3 combos over and over and waiting for the small punish window. Overall for me it was like an 8-9 min fight playing aggressively and I could only take 8-9 hits which meant a minute of flawless play for each hit taken. The fight was clearly not designed for this and so aswell as being boring In the later phases it took quite a few attempts before I could do them flawlessly aswell. Despite the sour note they are still both nice challenges and a decent finale to the trilogy. Though I do think doing friede last would be better.1 point -
Dark Souls 3
GazzaGarratt reacted to Venom for a topic
The levels is where I can start to pick up on some problems with the game. After ds2 these levels were very easy to go through. Which isn’t a good or bad thing just different. Most of the levels in this game are well designed with there paths and interconnectivity. But most of them felt unoriginal. They felt like some of the better levels in the earlier games just without providing anything new. The exceptions being irrethyll dungeons which was a new setting but not to interesting level design wise. And the cathedral. The cathedral is the hardest level in the base game. It’s very long and loops back to the same bonfire like 4/5 times. The enemy’s are challenging and the setting is unique. Unfortunately this area is capped with the worst boss in the game. I would have loved to see more varied levels but what is here is pretty good gameplay and looks amazing. Just more originality would have been better. Importantly however there is nothing offensively bad here which is more than can be said for any of the other games I’ve played.1 point -

I have put my name down for one, say's quarter 4 of this year Oct-Dec so hopefully will have one in time for christmas 🙂 I have quite a steam library that I have not really gotten through so between that and my current Switch backlog I could probably get through this cost of living crisis 😄 I may try some emulation with it, just because it would be good to play some of the games I have at home on the go (I.e. I just bought shining force 3 on the saturn which I am excited to try). But yeah, it does mean I have been watching steam and picking up the odd cheap game here and there which is probably not a good idea 😄 Like I never completed GTA IV so bought that for about £4-5 the other day.1 point -

The version they are releasing was actually finished in 2008 and intended for Xbox Live Arcade but red tape with the IP holders stalled the entire thing for almost 15 years. It's been their loss for an eternity as people have by gagging for this for many years, even long before the original Perfect Dark appeared on the 360. It's such a shame the James Bond licence is so under-used in gaming - the owners are really missing out especially when there is a game ready to go right under their noses!1 point -

I remember the old N64 version and it was iconic! One of my friends older brother had an N64 and Goldeneye and we played it a bunch. The 4 player splitscreen multiplayer was just groundbreaking at the time. Fond memories of that game, we had certain rules like Oddjob was banned for use because of how small and hard to hit he was an unfair disadvantage. We sometimes had silly rules like Archives map, throwing knifes and proximity mines only. Pistols only etc, just weird setups for a laugh.1 point -
