  1. The game needs ninja/ dead silence. It's a bit of a crutch perk for me as I just hate the sound. As for maps, of the newer ones were any good surely people wouldnt want shipment 24/7 or old maps re-inteoduced?

  2. The maps are always up for debate and scrutiny. 👀 Apart from MW19's elephant running on a tin roof footsteps, I think the footsteps were rather fair in Cold War and on Vanguard unless playing Search & Destroy they are barely noticeable. Also there is a ninja perk in Vanguard and Cold War.

  3. Agree maps and footsteps are a big issue how do the Devs keep fucking up on this year after year.

I think your on to something there Chad. How about an Avant-garde Alternative Funk/Soul/Motown/Nu-Metal/Hip-Hop/Indy/Progressive Bluegrass/Folk/Deathcore/Symphonic/Electronic Synth/Polka/Jazz/Surfer Rock/Stoner Metal Fusion band that includes Yodelling and Mongolian Throat Singing and Gregorion Chanting?

  5. It's supposed to be pretty much the same as MW2019. If it actually has decent maps then that's no bad thing. The core gameplay of MW2019 was solid. Although, as I've said before, if the game has super loud footsteps then I'll avoid it.

  7. Horrible. Something you don't even contemplate happening to you when you go on them. So glad it was 2 people injured and no fatalities.

  8. I totally get the footsteps thing, it doesn't always bother me. What usually happens is your team mates don't have quiet footsteps and they are all around. I swear team mates loud footsteps get me killed lol. There has definitely been good and bad new maps over the last few Cods. Personally I love Shipment because I'm a camo grinder and nothing is better than that map (aside longshots). However there are plenty of older maps that have never been redone. Things like Terminal and highrise which is constantly asked by the community. It's just usually the Nuketown/Summit/Jungle constantly and shit like crash, vacant etc. Personally I would love a remake of Favela, that map was badass. Or Black ops 1 Grid or Kwaloon sp?

  9. I remember the first time playing Roadrash Jailbreak on a PS1 with a Multi-tap with the ability to have 4 players. What a laugh, every 10 seconds "Oi ya dick stop bashing into me!" 😂 The good thing about Jailbreak was it had the side car option, so 1 steered and drive and the other got to punch and pick up weapons like bats, chains and glass bottles and knock shit outta each other. Literally hours of fun.

  10. Great article, can relate to a lot. I remember having gone out and bought a guidebook to final fantasy 7 as I was struggling. Same with one of the zelda games I had. The multiplayer thing too, I absolutely love going round to Lee's to play his old games. Whilst headsets and online play you cant beat being in the same room. The tensions when we play eachother on mario kart, super tennis, track and field etc you just dont get when playing online for me

Aye I'm all for the red cabbage, onions, garlic mayo sauce and chili sauce. But the donkey meat is not for me. I just don't like lamb. In doner terms mutton, an old lamby.

  17. food is for me and my family one of the ways you can "explore" another culture since cooking and food is SO important to us mediterranean people, we have a great time bonding over making it, trying new combos, new ingredients and i have always liked being in the kitchen, some of my earliest memories are sitting in the kitchen and watching my mum cook, "helping" her, you know passing her the salt or pepper since i was too small to be of any true help, but i am thankful that we are open minded and curious enough that we don't dismiss the cuisines of other cultures and even though we are poor and it's getting worse with the last decades shitstorms we can get a glimpse into another culture from our home even if it's miniscule

  21. I'm still waiting on a version of Kowloon for the modern game, I'll never get it I know... but that alone would make me buy another COD. MW2019 was the last one I bothered with.

  22. Excellent post James and full of information. They did mention maybe swimming would be an option as well. Hope people don't camp with Shotguns underwater ughhh..... I think you can only use your secondary underwater. Depends if Shotguns will be primary or secondary, judging on past history Treyarch do Shotgun secondaries and Infinity Ward always make them primary. 😀
    1 point
  23. I forgot about that. That's also something that added to the camping as players could just sit in a corner and be hidden from UAVs, plus there is the fact that gunfire didn't show on the mini map. It's like IW made this game specifically for campers.
    1 point
  24. I think any COD can have disgusting amounts of campers, but it can be more glaring in MW19 because of the way the game is designed. Like I was saying the loud footsteps makes people not want to move. Some of the maps are a campers wet dream. There is always a slimy power position in most maps, and 9/10 it's in a building or at a window at a higher elevation. The fact MW19 caters to new players with certain mentioned mechanics and a lot of new and or returning casual players. Some of these people are not confident in their gunskill so they will sit in awkward positions or lay prone amongst a doorway. There was actual "Safe Places" added to most maps, it's usually a dead bit of land at the back of the map with no traffic that people can sit at or run to if gunfights are getting too much. When I started playing cod originally it was get better or get stomped. A much different game model than of recent years.

  25. Those things are what killed MW2019 for me. COD is supposed to be a fast paced shooter and they made it into a boring camp-fest.

  26. I agree they have plenty of knowledge and experience, but these days certain decisions are made for money which then affect us lot as the gamer. They try and come up with different ways to encourage people to further spend. I'm like I bought the game and that was more than enough. A good game in their eyes is figures, to us it's about the gameplay experience. Maybe they have lost touch in what a good game is. It probably doesn't help with about 14 yearly releases, the content has to dry up eventually. I expect quite a bit as most should, but as long as it plays pretty good and isn't incorporated by terrible mechanics, I'm not too fussy. It's things like firing an unsilenced weapon and not showing up as a red dot on the radar. WTF is that? Loud footsteps and no ninja perk, sound whoring and camping. That's some of the aspects MW19 brought along and with all those doors and windows lol.

  27. However much this is true are we sure they even know how to make a good game afterall they actually think they did a good job with the first one in2019. Making a good call of duty should be the easiest thing ever especially as they have all the info/assets they could ever need.

  28. It's still an Activision-branded title - Microsoft just own the company. I don't think they'd want their name anywhere near titles like Diablo Immortal 🤣

  32. Exactly, I think it gets people talking even if it's cheesy. I think personally they have borrowed it from actual drone footage on a barge then just plastered MW2 on the barge. The containers and images are easy to conjure up. Probably cost them next to nothing to rustle this up. 😊

  34. I also forgot to mention that Activision even blocked their API because users were reverse-engineering match data to determine the algorithms in play for a specimen pool of users. Not only was their framework blocked, that information was also bound to a desist order. Basically Activision going to extraordinary lengths to cover up their matchmaking processes. MW2 had the best matchmaking because it was random and based purely on connection. I loved going into matches and not knowing what to expect. Black Ops 1 was also very good with the extended option of choosing locale only. Developers have claimed that these two games also had SBMM but that's total bullshit as my lobbies were always varied especially in BO1 when you could literally see leaderboards going into games and combat records too. Matchmaking should be simple and to benefit connection as a priority but Activision make it all about money and psychology. Sadly it works.

  35. I agree with a lot that's being said here. Especially @techno for the game should always be about connection rather than ability. Was great way back in MW2, BO1 and 2 when you built up a nemesis and trying to top the lobby when it didn't used to disband after each game. Felt like something else to play for like a side or mini game. James makes some excellent points about SBMM. Having played a lot of the recent Cods and experiencing affected gameplay. I remember on Cold War in particular doing really well and I swear this is not bullshit. Playing really well at the start of the game and then dying. That's not the part, after respawning after death I charged back for a revenge kill. And this particular incident happened 2-3 times on separate occasions. I remember launching a semtex and I swear as I threw it the aim gittered off at the last second and hit a wall and nearly got me killed. I wanted to blame it on stick drift or give the benefit of the doubt, but it happened in a few selective circumstances after I was decimating the other team and then suddenly I don't know how to use a semtex. I can launch a semmy on raid across the map and stick people successfully and consistently off the rip at the start. I'm well aware of aim and distance, but just these incidents were extremely fishy. Other times I've noticed aim or bullets going off for no reason at all, or losing a crucial gunfight I thought I was going to win 100% Definitely a lot of manipulation going on to stop you having "Too good a time". I think I noticed it in Cold War the most out of the last 3 titles. I don't mind getting whooped if I deserve it, but please don't punish me for doing well... That's beyond ridiculous behaviour!

  36. I like the way Rocket League does it — they have a Casual match making playlist and a Competitive one.
    1 point
  37. Quoted for the truth. SBMM has it's place but it shouldn't be the defacto matchmaking. SBMM was introduced as a way to increase enjoyment and stop noobs getting stomped but all it seems to have done is make sweatier lobbies. Sure in the (original) MW and MW2 days you'd get stomped occasionally but equally you would occasionally stomp too so it all evened out.

  38. How about simply having connection based matchmaking and then a ranked playlist?

  48. Will reality live up to expectations? Probably not. The hype will be there, but if there is no maps like High rise, Terminal or Favela then it will disappoint. I'm curious to the gun selection and perk balance as well. If the game looks and plays good then it will be a monster hit on all fronts. Really has the potential to revive the corpse of COD and bring some diehard fans back. *holds breath patiently*

  49. I'd like to think this will be similar to the most recent Modern Warfare (2019) which I really enjoyed. I'd like a more realistic looking game than these badly animated/textured games COD keep coming out with.
