Valheim - Game News
Riff Machine and 2 others reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
I thought I responded to this but clearly I hadn't! Its great news we now have some transparency - I always feel thats the best way forward. Yep, its disappointing to not get all 4 but hardly surprising to hear that. All I hope is that we will get a significant bunch of new stuff to see in the Hearth & Home update because I wanted to fiddle and tinker with stuff but also hope Mistlands can be updated before the end of the year with new items to find and new areas to explore. I need to get back on our server, as I've got out of sync with my PC gaming of late. I think we should think of some ideas to have group gatherings on the game and help some of the newer players that haven't experienced this game as much to see what we can do. It would be ace if we can get the update in a month's time as thats in Q3!!! WIshful thinking, I know 😄3 points -
I just got back from a family vacation. I took my wife and son on a big tour of US National Parks out west. We flew into Los Angeles, spent some time there, then did the tour. It ended up something like this: Los Angeles: Whale Watching boat tour. Kayaking with sea lions. Petersen car museum. La Brea Tar Pits. Hollywood sign from the observatory. Sequoia National Park/King's Canyon National Park (they connect): Hiking, exploring the giant trees and some mountain views. Death Valley: Driving the unpaved trails, some light hiking, star gazing, general sight seeing. Las Vegas area (including towns featured in Fallout: New Vegas. We went to Goodsprings and visited the bar the saloon is modeled after, went to Primm and saw the casinos and got some chips from Whisky Pete's, drove through the Mojave Preserve) St. George Utah/Zion National park. Canyon hiking, dinosaur track spotting, desert hiking Joshua Tree National Park: Light hiking, 107 degree weather Los Angeles: Autry Museum of the West, LA Zoo, Aquarium of the West, some light hiking. Santa Monica pier. Long Beach. Insert massive amount of visits to various taco trucks, Armenian bakeries, doughnut shops (seriously, LA has a butt ton of them from cheap-o to gourmet), and In N Out. LA traffic SUUUUCKS. I'm in no hurry to return to LA (or go through LAX again) but the trip was worth it and was a lot of fun.2 points

My New Generation Console

It's going to be a while before I upgrade my 1080ti and I fancy some games with Ray tracing. But yeah, it's really a non essential purpose from a tired brain 😁2 points -
My New Generation Console
MrBiron and one other reacted to phil bottle for a topic
So, I had a zombie day yesterday after my neighbours partied all night until the morning in a big tent in their garden, and I ended up buying an Xbox Series X. The game pass is just too good a deal to ignore and it was available from Smyths while I was randomly checking availability of that and PS5. I'll still be getting a PS5 at some point, but probably not until the new Gran Turismo comes out, there's no other exclusive game on that console that makes me have any need for it right now.2 points -

I was interested. But after seeing it’s basically a souls like game, I quickly changed my mind. The whole genre is so overdone it’s become monotonous.1 point -
Forza Horizon 5
GazzaGarratt reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
You basically have a load of pre-determined events to work through in what is a bit of a cheesy and childish format and you unlock credits and cars galore. It's pretty easy and you get to see all the races, cars and land available but for most, the 'endgame' is where you can just have fun with what you've earned. I must admit the work that goes into the campaign is pretty impressive though and there are some spectacular races.1 point -

It's pretty much the same game but in a different setting and now with their version of ray tracing. Change Britain for Mexico. Some don't like the how you do the campaign but it's pretty straightforward.1 point -
Tarkov - the streets
GazzaGarratt reacted to phil bottle for a topic
The Streets will be one big city map, although another one, Lighthouse, is dropping first I believe. There are about 7 or 8 maps you can choose from when you want to spawn in to Tarkov, some bigger than others...but while the am is to link them, they're all independent right now.1 point -

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Video Game
IRaMPaGe reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
Yep, I'm having to be happy that its at least 8 whereas most games these days are going for 3 or 4 players max which is a killer. 8 should be pretty fun actually and it all depends on how many pick the game up in the first place. Oh mate, yes it was! @Findmartin and I over the years just used to smash the shit out of our controllers trying to get the World Records on everything. I wish they could've brought back lots more athletics sports in the games like Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault and even longer distance things too. I actually think if someone just revamped Athens 2004 video game it would be insane due to how many great sports were in that one too! This one is clearly a little more arcadey, give it has football and rugby in it 🤦♂️ but there should be enough for us to have a real good laugh at.1 point -

International Track And Field was iconic. I remember being at a friend's playing it on PS1. We used to rub a glass marble along square and circle for full speed. Some of the triple jump and high jump records we set were nuts! 😄1 point -

RenFengge's 2021 Fitness PPR

6/20/2021 Workout MMA Thoughts: I took some pre-workout prior to my MMA session today. And, it didn't taste disgusting. It was like a Tang, orange, creamiscle thing. Creamiscle because I blended it, and that made it frothy. Not terrible at all. However, because I don't really do supplements (I do but not like these), I was unaware of certain side effects lol. Like the weird tingling and itchiness that you get from certain pre-workout formulas. Instantly went away once I was moving at MMA. To be honest, I'm sort of impressed by how much of a difference it made in my session. I didn't actually want to die. I think I kept up better this time. I only really stopped once, and that was because I needed to run to the bathroom. But, it was also the time to switch from MMA stuff to building strength (50 push ups with alternating hand taps). I'm half debating taking it before every workout, but I think it wouldn't be helpful to how I like to nap right before starting work after I hit the gym. We'll see. Plus, I don't necessarily like jugging down 8oz of flavored, frothy water before I'm at the gym at 4:30AM. Jonesly had one of his star students watch the whole session and do some recording. I wasn't necessarily thrilled about it. But, it was sort of nice to have him say that my combos were really sharp and smooth. We focused about 10 minutes of the session today on some clinches and grappling. I was definitely uncomfortable with it. My whole thing is that I intend to keep people as far away from me as possible. I do not want to get to wrestling. But, I know it's inevitable when you understand actual fights and street fights. I just prefer to avoid it lol. Calendar says this was session 9. Next Sunday will be my 10th session. I will definitely be re-upping with Jonesly since I think the progress made warrants it. And, I want him to get me to the point where he's comfortable with me dropping down to MMA gloves and not wear boxing gloves anymore.1 point -
The pass is good value though surprised you aren’t just picking up the xbox games on PC. No doubt the xbox is a good console though and arguably the best this gen so enjoy. Certainly easier to find somewhere to fit the xbox than ps5 🤣1 point

Tbh, i'm not sure either @RenFengge. I can't get into the action FF games after loving the ATB system as much as I did in the early games. I don't know what's exciting about that. I don't understand what the Origin thingy means either. Is this a spin off from FF1? Meh.1 point -

Blizzard blew apart OWL, so I wouldn't look to their esports program as they're known for cutting the head off of any golden goose they have at the time. The only titles that appeared to not be killed (thanks to the community and other tournament organziers) has been Hearthstone and Starcraft. (Both BW and 2 are still strong)1 point -

Although I'm not a huge fan of these sandbox racing games, I can't help but appreciate the sheer level of polish that these developers offer in them. It looks absolutely remarkable in places and the technical quality is some of the most refined I have ever seen. Horizon 3 and 4 were both incredible and 5 looks to be another stunning experience1 point -

Valheim - Game News
Riff Machine reacted to RenFengge for a topic
Thanks @Tar-Eruntalion on pinging about this! Hi Everyone,We want to start by thanking you all for the patience and kindness you’ve shown us since we launched in February. We launched into Early Access because we want to build the game with you, but never in our wildest dreams could we have imagined how many of you want to join us on this journey! As we’re sure lots of you suspected, we won’t be able to deliver four updates this year. Instead, we’re now planning to launch Hearth & Home in Q3 2021, and we’re temporarily taking down the roadmap whilst we make some changes. We are sorry it’s taken us so long to update you.We weren’t prepared for such a large influx of players, and this highlighted a thousand new problems and bugs that needed to be fixed urgently. Our priority has been to make the current experience as stable as possible and this has meant new content has taken a backseat. To put it clearly; we haven’t been able to focus all of our resources on Hearth & Home until May.We hope that one of the reasons Valheim has resonated with so many of you is down to attention to detail. We don’t want to launch an update that we’re not confident in, and that isn’t deserving of your time. With that in mind, the new roadmap will be much smaller, but we’ve made the decision to focus on the big Mistlands update directly after we’re done with Hearth & Home, putting aside the smaller updates for now...That being said, we would like to share some of the upcoming Hearth & Home content here. This is by no means a complete list but a taste of what’s cooking. New build pieces – Darkwood roofs and window hatches. New cooking station extensions – spice rack, butcher table, pots & pans... In addition to this we've also implemented a new food system that places more importance between boosting health and stamina, making food choices more interesting based on your playstyle. To this end, we've also made some changes to how stamina/health affects your poise in combat. If you want to play a tanky, defensive viking you should now stock up on health, since this will boost your ability to deflect incoming hits and mitigate damage. New foods to take advantage of the new system and cooking station extensions– more than 10 new recipes including Eyescream, Shocklate smoothie, various wolf meats, and more. Plantable onions with pretty onion flowers. We’re pretty flexible when it comes to what we want to add to the game, and we’re often inspired by a meeting or an awesome comment from the community, which means our roadmap is always going to be fluid. Valheim is also a game about exploration, and we don't want to spoil that feeling of discovery for our players. That said, we do want to be more open with what we’re currently working on, even if it is just our artist Robin working on a piece of content that he's enjoying, but that might never make it into the game. Striking a balance between being transparent about what we are working on, while at the same time not spoiling it for those of you who want to discover it yourselves is tough, but we think it's important to be more informal and open as an Early Access game.Tomorrow June 11th, at 2PM CEST, we will also be heading to the r/valheim subreddit for an AMA. We’d love for you all to join so we have an opportunity to try and answer as many questions as we can on Hearth & Home and the new roadmap. We’ll also of course keep posting our monthly development updates and hotfixes as always. Thank you again for continuing to support us, and for your feedback and creativity. The Iron Gate team1 point
