GameStop WTF!?
GazzaGarratt and 2 others reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
Fucking clowns that run these companies (into the ground mostly) now and their dumb ideas https://www.thegamer.com/gamestop-black-friday-hours/ I worked in retail when I was younger and it was a very enjoyable experience despite the low pay but I'd never stoop to doing any of this shit by out of touch corporate cockends.3 points -
Learning Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects
GazzaGarratt and 2 others reacted to jordie1892 for a topic
I started learning Photoshop around 2010 by making signatures for the guys on the old MW2 Forum. Lucky enough to now use Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and After Effects in the day to day of my job. ! I think to start just ensure you are comfortable with using the basic tools. Even with the more complicated work I do now, it's essentially just problem solving how to get to your end result using those basic tools. I remember finding a lot of the tutorials quite boring (and I have a terrible attention span), so try and pick ones that have you create an end image (not just 'this is how to do X'), and you will start to just absorb the information. If you need any help with anything, feel free to shoot me a message! I'll attach a few examples of recent work I have done: 1 - Free Standing Display Unit to go into Sainsbury's stores. You can see this in stores across the UK currently 2 - Disney Storytime Collection Slip Case - A new product available on Amazon. I don't often get to design the actual products, more the marketing materials, so this was a fun change of pace. 3 - I create yearly catalogues across different the different imprints. Whilst I can't share the 2021 catalogue, this is a page from this years.3 points -

Learning Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects
jordie1892 reacted to LordBaguette for a topic
Been taking stock of my life recently and to be honest I have just been extremely bored and frustrated without having any kind of challenge in my life at the moment. Whilst I am still being paid for 38 hours work, I currently have hardly anything to do (boohoo i know) but it means I have a lot of spare time. I wanted a new challenge and have decided to begin learning Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, with a view to hopefully start creating some free lance logos / art etc to hopefully eventually start making some money from it, and long term maybe even a career. I would also like to get into Motion Design eventually once comfortable with the software. Sick of where I am currently I just want a change of pace I was interested in graphic design as a kid and did use photoshop back then a lot and Fireworks. But I havent done anything like that in easily over 10 years, so will be starting from the ground up with youtube tutorials. I saw @Grebothis interested in digital art, just wondering if anyone else has any experience with the programmes / the industry. Any tips etc would be great maybe even share your portfolios1 point -

Was fully planning to stat off with Cyberpunk, but that's obviously been delayed now! I'll have FIFA, but the sadist in me thinks I'll end up grabbing Demon Souls too.1 point -

Whats there to actually do online then? Have they fleshed it out with full missions that can be co-op, etc? A bit like GTA Heists?1 point -

Watch Dogs Legion
J4MES OX4D reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
Shame the story spoils it. Whilst I'd like to think I don't care about story parts, its one of the few things that keeps me engaged in a game. Knowing whats going on through a good story adds more I think many will actually recognise. We all listen to good stories which allows for better gameplay in some instances, many ironically think they don't whilst it sub-consciously does. Glad some parts give you some replayability though @phil bottle. How much would you say its worth in your opinion?1 point -

Sean Connery: James Bond actor dies aged 90 WWW.GOOGLE.CO.UK He was the first to bring the role to the big screen and appeared in seven of the spy thrillers. What an absolute legend! He will be missed! RIP ❤️1 point -

Didn't get chance to say much at the time but its yet another great loss. And in 2020 too 😞 Whilst he wasn't my favourite Bond, he was still amazing and what he did in it as well as other things. It more so reminded me of his cameo in Highlander. An epic film back in the day and the iconic words were very apt for him "There can be only one". Rest easy now Sean Connery 💛1 point -

You could also move on to video editing and start making gaming videos as a way of practicing. All good though, it's important to keep the brain occupied in these times👍1 point -

I've found that by skipping all the cut scenes it's a much better experience. Can't be bothered with the childish plot/story but the gameplay is a lot of fun.1 point -

New Raid: Deep Stone Crypt Opens!
GazzaGarratt reacted to Baabcat for an event
Deep Stone Crypt launches at 10am Pacific Time 6pm UK time on a Saturday - it would be good to see if we could get a team to run the raid blind at launch. Will take a bit of commitment to get light high enough in the 11 days after beyond light launches, but lockdown will help ! Definitely something we should aim at1 point -

He had a great run at 90 and what a fantastic career! The Bond movies were iconic and he did some great ones outside that series too. Goldfinger was my personal favourite but all his Bond films were special.1 point -
Watch Dogs Legion

Ok, I've played a few hours and here's my quick review. Some nice game mechanics. The open world London, while a bit small, is fucking amazing. Looks great. Unfortunately it's all let down by the fact they've decided to add the cringey humour. It doesn't work. England has been taken over by a techno fascist dictatorship and I've got this prick in my ear who sounds like Richard Ayoade making me want to punch his lights out with the shitty cringeworthy commentary and humour. Why couldn't they have made this a serious game like the subject matter demands? The story is serious but it's delivered like a Carry On film for hipsters. They've gone for silly meets edgy and it just doesn't work or fit the premise. But London is soooooo fucking good I'll be playing it just for that.1 point -
What phone do you have?

Now I'm on SIM only and had my Samsung S9+ for 3 years, I'm really tempted by the new Samsung S20 Fan Edition. It's practically the same as the S20, just has slightly less zoom (which is still great anyway), a plastic back instead of glass (put a case on anyway so?) but a bigger and better battery - all for £599/£699 instead of your £999/1099. Seems like a no brainer to me 🤷♂️1 point -

My avenue into this line of work was a strange path, I started working with animals purely for the love of them at first but quickly found out that they can also be very therapeutic to others. I also work with disabled children which makes this even better because of the sensory work. Difference textures for blind kids and simply put most of the children never get a chance to interact with any animal so I provide a secure safe environment for them to do so. I also train vet students with safe handling practises and identification of behavioural disorders. Via the FG App1 point
