  1. From what I've read and seen on the tv news, the black boxes have a fairly limited transmission range so you would need to be relatively close to before you received a signal. Also, and in all probability they are submerged in up to 300ft of water, which is substantially less than the Air France black box which was located in 13,000ft of water on the Atlantic sea bed 2 years after the crash. They have roughly 30 days of battery life before they stop transmitting. Maybe this is something that needs to be improved upon going forwards to allow for better and quicker recovery. Imagine a plane breaking up at 30,000ft doing 500mph and how far debris could be spread across. Even if they find floating debris it could a be long time before they even close to the flight recorders and other clues. I don't think we are going to get any definitive answers for quite some time. First and foremost they simply need to find something that confirms it went down, to at least give the families of those involved a definite answer despite the fact that it will all but extinguish any hope of finding survivors. The Chinese are getting more and more frustrated at the perceived lack of information which is somewhat understandable, but would they have been able to do better in the same circumstance? Possibly they might by sheer weight of resource available, but they need to bear in mind it did take 5 days to find any debris from the Air France flight.
  2. I am currently in mainland China and due to leave out via Hong Kong on Thursday night, it will be very interesting to see what, if anything has been done to "beef" up security. I have a colleague flying over this way arriving tomorrow afternoon local time, so I'll be intruiged to find out his experiences. To be honest the current security in place at the airports I've used over here is as good as I see in Europe, except Turkey where you have to put your bags through a scanner before you even enter the airport building due to it's proximity to the Middle East. Obviously, this is big news over here at the moment and there is a lot of frustration over the perceived lack of information, but the airline is caught between a rock and hard place right now until clues start emerging. Bottom line, we all suspect that the plane has suffered a catastrophic failure/incident mid air due to the fact that it simply fell off the radar and there was no communication to say there was a problem. From my perspective, the fact that there are reports that the plane may have turned back without any communication at all is worrying. If it hasn't then where the hell is it? As for the cause, everything is pure conjecture at the moment, meaning nothing can be ruled out. For all we know it may have even been shot down. Until the recorders are found and reviewed we will not have a clue. I just hope that they find out something sooner rather than later as the poor families must be going through hell right now!
  3. Yeah, but Caspian Border and Oman are the bomb!
  4. Oh yes!!!
  5. Jammy sod Sean!! What did you get it with??
  6. Really looking forwards to this release today, if only to see how some of my favourite maps play out with levolution!
  7. I've been working on AR's typically number of Service Stars so far are: SAR-21 x 10, this is my go to AR so far, but really looking forwards to see how good the F2000 will be in this game. AK-12 x 5 Scar H x 5 M16A4 x 5 M416 x 5 Currently working on the Aug which sits at 312 kills Best Carbine is the Ak5C at 485 kills, so nearly there, and best sniper rifle is the CS-LR4 at 399 kills. Top pistol is the P226 at 287 kills, but have just loaded up the M1911 on a couple of classes to mix it up a bit. Haven't really bothered with the PDW's, DMR's or even Shotties yet. Once I've done the AUG I might switch things round a bit.
  8. My baby is coming home, F2000 FTW, just hope it's a good a weapon in this game as I found it in BF3, over 50 service stars with it last time out, can't wait!!
  9. My proudest moment will be when I stop throwing nades and actually fire my gun at people, haven't played on my PS4 enough for my memory muscle to get to grips with the change in trigger configuration.
  10. I can't see that far so I'm buggered!
  11. I've been using the Shorty latley for a laugh, it is very inconsistent though!
  12. Thanks Chris, looking forwards to it.
  13. Thanks Tommy, might finally get to game with XBox converts in the near future
  14. It might also be worth switching your field upgrade to "mechanic" for the Engie class. It makes your repairs quicker. That's what I've just done anyway. I might be on later tonight, but got to go to Holland tomorrow and not back until late Weds night so not sure when I'll get back on after that.
  15. Just checked, I'm 205m at the moment for longest single headshot. Got it being a pussy assed sniper on Dragon Pass the other day, before that it was 177m.
  16. Bob, I'm probably stating the obvious, but you know that the vehicle in question has to be manned by a team mate for the repairs to get xp. If you're repairing your own vehicle with no one in it all you'll do is restore said vehicles health. Sorry if you already knew this.
  17. Can I be added to the list please now that I am a proud owner of a PS4 PSN name is, yes you guessed it! uberwarrior Origin ID is TheKingofBedRock
  18. These are the kind of things that make battlefield so much fun for me!!
  19. So Rich, how long has Moyes got before the knives are out?? The biggest issue he will have in the summer is attracting big names to the club if they miss out on a CL spot. Tough times ahead I suspect, but it does just how good a manager SAF was.
  20. Just been reading about this, what a waste of a supreme talent! Definitely one of my favourite actors, such a shame.
  21. I must admit, it's a big improvement in terms of the levolution aspect, hopefully that'll improve the game play in Conquest. What got very boring very quickly were the rented servers that were Metro only with massive ticket counts. I did play one match on that map with a big ticket count and it went on forever, almost to the point of boredom. Like I say though, great for big xp gains. Whereas there was one 1000 ticket server I used to play on with Oman as the map and those matches never got boring for me unless your team got horribly base trapped. Which wasn't very often tbh.
  22. Thanks for input gentlemen. Pretty much as I though, ok for a time filler if you have an ipad, but probably not worth effort if you are able to actually play as an alternative.
  23. Despite all the hours I've put into this game already, I'm yet to try out the Commander role. Have any of you guys tried it out, and do you have any tips or hints?
  24. I know what you're saying, but the really good matches were few and far between. Usually it just ended up in a massive base rapping session dependent on which side gained control of B. At least Op Locker has a bit more variety for flanking. Then you had the rented servers with 500% tickets which just got really boring after 30 minutes. I loved the epic large ticket matches on maps like Oman, Kharg Island, Op Firestorm etc..because they could go either way if the teams were balanced, but Metro just became a kill whores paradise if you got on the right side. Great for your SPM as you could earn massive xp by throwing down health and ammo without getting that many kills, but that was about it for me. Seine Crossing was one of my absolute favourite BF3 maps, I wish they'd bring that back with levolution.
  25. That thing was God mode in BF3, loved it
