  1. I would prefer that RPG's are kept as they were in BF3, still have lock on's, but keep the dumb fire launchers as they were. It's always been massively satifying to down a heli or jet with a free fire launcher. They just seem to be catering more and more for the masses. Recoil seems to have been nerfed, nades can be seen from 100m away the way they are currently. Bullet drop has been nerfed, suppression isn't as strong as it used to be unless you're using an LMG. Tanks, based on the Beta, are now not to be that feared. Ribbons are easier to get, I mean 2 flag captures for a ribbon in Conquest! All of this points to making it noob firendly from the start. When I first starting playing BF3 I got hammered left and right by BF vets, the learning curve was steep, but persistance eventually paid off and I turned it around eventually, not dramatically, but enough to be satisfying at the end of game. Enough that I got FR's from others playing the game who I saw as pretty competent. I want BF4 to be tough on those who can't learn and adapt, please do not make it too easy Dice.
  2. So that's what happened to Shergar
  3. You haven't got long the 2 weeks are nearly up!
  4. Not that I can find, maybe it's there but being old and senile it's escaped me. The reason I commented was because last night I had a kid in my squad who would not shut up about wanting to get into a tank or a heli, he was doing my head in. Ordinarily I woudl have left the squad, or reduced the chat volume on my headset, but the game was full my headset was on charge so wasn't using it. If I'd turned the volume on the tv down I wouldn't have been able to hear the game! He was EVERYTHING that people complain about with kids in MP games! Anyway, rant over......and calm
  5. Give me a fucking mute option FFS!!!
  6. 18,000 tickets being allocated to the Polish fans, WTF. This is supposed to be HOME game for England! Having said that there's enough Poles over here now they shouldn't have trouble selling them though
  7. I've had a few freezing issues, but nothing too frustrating thankfully. Here are a few observations: The game sound as you spawn at the start of a game takes a few seconds to kick in. Not a game breaker, but you almost find yourself thinking "hope the sounds starts up soon". I've often spawned (typically at the start) without a gun to be seen, same issue that BF3 had at one stage. Need addressing. Gun play is actually quite good, although I've been playing mainly as Assault and Engineer class. Dick head Recon's who are still intent on sitting it out as far away from the flags as possible despite the fact they now have C4 and a portable soflam. I knifed 2 of these idiots yesterday while they were laying prone on the buildings near "A". easy kills for me, but must've been frustrating for the opposition to have these guys in their team. Not sure I like the bullet trails from the sniper rifles. Main rounds from a tank should have far better splash effect on infantry, I think I've got one kill from my main gun with a tank. These should kill anyone within a 2m radius. Maybe it will be better in HC. Carbines are godly Bullet drop doesn't seem to be a feature when sniping anymore This should be present. Scope glint seems to have been toned down a little. Suppression feature seems to be a bit skewed. I have got the drop on quite a few people, but when they start shooting at me it sends my aim right off due to this. Pistols are good. I like the knifing animations, still not as good as KZ3 (no game I have played is as good as this), but better than BF3. Don't like the new grenade animation, looks almost cartoon like and is now far too obvious. All in all I have enjoyed it, but am keen to see what the other maps bring, plus I'm itching to play HC in this game. Will it be better than BF3? It certainly has the potential, but that will also be down to those playing the game. My main concern is that this game potentially being the biggest Battlefield game yet, it will attract too many people (I was going say kids, but that would be unfair) who won't play the game in the manner it should be played in. This has already been highlighted by Dave in an earlier post. I just hope it's popularity won't be it's downfall. I also hope that DICE/EA have more of their own servers. The one thing I have noticed is the inability to play a lot of maps in the game modes I like in BF3 due to admins preferences. I would like to be able to play CQ, Rush et al on ALL maps, not just a select few.
  8. Yep, he sent a PSN message out from his Cottonball account saying he was missing everyone. At least he's getting his priority's right.
  9. Go watch "Little Miss Sunshine", totally takes the piss out of these things, brilliant movie to boot!!
  10. They are Satan's spawn! I totally love cats, good job really because my ex had 9.
  11. Got say I'm loving it!! Haven't played anything other than the Beta since it started, and really looking forwards to trying the new game mode out. I've pre ordered for the PS3 as I'm not sure when I'll be able to afford a PS4 right now, the joys of home ownership are eating funds like no tomorrow at the moment!
  12. Ok, so it wasn't just me. It's starting to make wonder how good the game will be on this gen's consoles though.
  13. I was waiting for someone to latch onto that one
  14. I don't know if anyone else was having the same issue, but I literally couldn't see through the iron sights sometimes as they were solid. When they were ok they were pretty good.
  15. Well, at least it's sorted now, rest easy my man
  16. Looking forwards to trying this out. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/battlefield-4-beta-adds-obliteration-mode/1100-6415480/ Edit: Thought I'd add a few comments. Got my first medal while playing the Beta last night. 50 ribbons for capturing 2 flags in a round of Conquest. The fact that you only need to capture 2 flags to get each ribbon seems too easy imo. Anyway, levelled up Engineer class enough to get access to a Carbine, AK-5C, pretty good weapon to use and gives you more chance of killing at medium range than the PDW's you start out with for this class. The ScarH continues to impress especially now I have some attachments for it, namely the reflex sight. There was a bit of a bug with the irons for me, in that they would show up but were solid and you couldn't see through them when aiming down the sight.
  17. Tech is great when it works, when it goes tits up it's the most frustrating thing EVER!! Hope you get it sorted Steve, if only so you can catch some zzzzz's
  18. Nice photo Jason. I especially like the way your cat is eyeing up it's light snack!! Pets come and go, but they always worth having for all the memories they bring
  19. Puppy looks as cute as! Especially when using Flak Jacket perk!
  20. Not exactly, but it's nearest you get with what's available. I tried some of the others and found them too different to get on with.
  21. I just don't seem to get on with Core in BF3, whether that's the game or my shortcomings is open to debate. I just prefer HC, no mini map and limited health makes you have to learn and adapt to increase your situational and tactical awareness imo. That's where I think the skill aspect is greater than in Core. If I've visually seen or heard someone and got myself into position to get the jump on them without being spotted and having a great big dorito hanging over my head, then surely I have been more aware and used my skill to get the kill, rather than sponging bullets??
  22. Oakley looks like a cracking dog, especially with his green laser eyes!!
  23. I've had pets all of my life, although there was a 6 year spell where I didn't owing to my other half suffering with asthma and eczema which meant she was allergic to most animals when in close contact. Her daughter was desperate for a dog and did the typical kiddy nagging thing. I kept putting her off not wanting to run the risk of getting one and having to give it back because he would set off the Missus's animal hair allerigies. Finally we relented and started looking at breeds that were supposedly allergy friendly. This led us to Harley our Cockapoo (cocker spaniel, poodle cross), he doesn't shed (that's why we opted for this breed), is as mad as a hatter in a fun way, massively loyal, especially to me which I really love. I didn't realise just how much I missed having a dog until we got him about 18 months ago. I get the Dino scenario everytime I come home, in that he's always excited and happy when I come home and always puts a smile on my face no matter how crap my day has been. All in all he's the best dog I have ever had, which is saying something because there was one dog that I've had in the past that I thought would never be topped. I'll do the same as Tommy and post some pics later.
  24. I usually only play Hardcore on BF3, so don't really like this aspect in core mode. In HC I can get rounds off on people because I've been better positioned or got the jump on them and them actually dying. I hate being in the scenario of doing just that only for them to sponge bullets and then return fire killing me. If I've been stupid or my aim is off I expect to get killed, I don't have an issue with, I don't expect to be superhuman and hide after getting shot to get insta healed without a med pack or help from a medic. WHEN I get BF4, I will be avoiding core mode once again. HC gives you the ability to use a greater variety of weapons and get the kills your skill deserves. That's purely my opinion, so I'm not dismissing what you're saying, I just know what I prefer. Come to think of it, this is pretty much the way I've gone with CoD also. Core mode just does my head in.
  25. My Step Daughter put a pair of Dr Martin's boots on Ebay the other day, simply because she never wore them and she wanted to try and make some money to fund a new lens for her camera. She paid £120 originally, she sold them for £265!!! Needless to say she's happy, which as a usually grumpy teenager is a BIG bonus!
