I read yesterday that they are backtracking now.  We talked about it a bit on the podcast this past week too.  I'd expect nothing less from a guy who worked at EA.

Damage is done now though. I saw Terraria plough 100k donations into new developer engines as an act to get behind other smaller engines. Trust is so vital these days and can really grab more sales than these big corporate companies realise.

  2. What I'm still mulling over is this strange concept that they follow - they all fundamentally agree that console gaming is the place that you need to keep producing games and the biggest market that will keep them ahead of the pack - and to do this they create physical consoles. However, games then go digitally and no physical games to coincide with this? I think they forget the concept of surprises, birthdays, Christmas, presents, anniversaries, special editions, unique items....they all are catalysts for games to be bought and 8/10 times, these work because they are tangible - something you can touch.

I still think the retro scene would be booming right now if people wanted to make games for more simplistic consoles.

I imagine most of the sales won't change too much until the world comes out of the cost of living crisis.

  3. I think so @J4MES OX4D!

Having said that, my son is absolutely loving it. The game looks incredible on PS5 and the fatalities are incredibly thought out. The kameo system is different, I'll have to ask him how he feels about it but younger folk are more used to this tag-team type of battles like other fighting games have got.

I need to see more myself about the career mode and if it has something equivalent to the Krypt.

  4. Did not expect this. If there even was a slither of this potentially happening, doubt it ever will now its out there for the world to see their plan:

I think its no secret that if Nintendo sold some or all of their first party titles to other platforms they would make a killing - but thats just not their business model. The Switch sales alone justify their model and why it is so successful as they keep themselves so self-contained. Shame there isn't much in it about how they could make them better, just all about all the money and benefit to own the asset outright.

  5. If its priced at the right amount, which should be £20-25 then people will buy it to experience that feeling again due to not having that console of choice any longer. If you've played it before then I'd agree on getting the cash - you would give it away for next to nothing for original owners if you could.

the gameplay is more outdated than the graphics

Whilst gameplay might, there are some old games, like this one, that has some unique challenges that people who didn't play Tomb Raider back in the day could find fun to play. Especially ones that can't afford full priced games. Still think you're right on the other part though lol. The old Tomb Raider games will still sit in my fun zone so I won't be dissing the gameplay on it.

What I would really appreciate is an extension of the 24/7 system…the ability to be able to choose a particular map to play.

To just go select map > select game mode > play game

Playing Shipment 24/7 is ok but to be able to select say large maps for sniping would be great

Its a great concept but its about keeping lobby populations high, so I don't think it would happen vastly. I could totally get behind 24/7, small, medium and large map rotation. 1 map for each size so you can do what you said. Doesn't matter to me which maps they are but would definitely get people in them.

  7. 16 returning maps which is every single map from MW2 back in 2009. I know loads have asked for multiple maps in this list so I would expect some FGers to be over the moon with this!

I'm just glad they're doing it in a big drop at once. The playerbase moaned about wanting loads of old maps so here you go. Favela I know is loved by a few here...

    Whats your thoughts??

  8. I think the way that Dying Light 1 implemented the save/co-op function just hit the game hard as many of us enjoyed the first one up until we realised our save points would be overwritten by the lead person's progress. You could get the most OP sword in the game early too but then again @crispymorgan could say how much gamebreaking that was getting it so early in the game.

  9. The Hunt Showdown has abit of a feeling like an underground hardcore following but never seems to make it into a larger group of people I find.

The game is absolutely top draw, the spin on the gamemode Battle Royale others did, they completely made it their own which makes every game feel like a new experience. Its a little more intense co-ordination needed and that can put some people off but its not hard to get into at all and such a great visual game, set in times where different encounters can happen with PVP and PVE all the time on the map.

Plus, its cheap as chips now!!

  10. I really love this place. Like REALLY love it. And you lot. You're annoying, frustrating and absolutely hilarious at the best/worst of times.

Our little home on the world wide webz is something to be proud of and shout about more in my eyes. We're far from perfect but I'd love more to know how awesome this place, and you guys and girls are.

Here's to the next 10 years. Cheers for sticking around and getting involved and being a family for life. ❤️
