Anyone tried those tournaments at all? Never seemed to spot one open when I've been on but thought they might be good fun to try. I also don't know why they can't make Chaos 4v4 competitive too. Yeah, there is more unpredictability in it but its still the same game so can't see why it wouldn't hurt. Maybe the games at the Elite level last forever perhaps? Who knows. Great goal anyway Matt @crippled_viper!

Looks more of a fun, whacky game than a proper FPS. Slightly gutted that its not a great shooter given your thoughts @phil bottle and @J4MES OX4D, although lets face it, we all probably thought it was gonna be pretty bad shooting.

Listening to your podcast and I think you were all right when you said that he's effectively resigned way too late, after Unity now losing any credibility of making a return. So many small companies were pulling away from the officially on Twitter so I'm really not sure how they can make it under the Unity name anymore.

Only had a few games with FG the other night but I did feel very similar to Pat on this one. Saving grace for me was no one playing the objective so I still felt a little bit useful 🤣 It will still be a good game I reckon. Many here will enjoy it I think as movement was quicker (I think prefer it a little slower like MW2) but providing TTK isn't ridiculously quick then I can enjoy it. My opinion isn't worth much though because I don't know the old maps like pretty much all of you as I never played old MW2 as much as you guys and girls did all those years ago. Excited to play on the maps as they'll be new to me.

WRC doesn't change much year on year so I think sometimes waiting for a few versions to pass is a good thing. With the rebrand to just WRC and going to EA, may bring that little bit more in this one. I loved WRC a few games ago, its just i'm not sure its worth full whack with a game like this. They usually do drop very quickly to around £35 which I would totally buy this for that price.

Good point Greebs, most had to buy multiple copies...but lets face it, its Lego unlimited on Digital so i'm not surprised in the least its done this well. I do miss the Vanilla Realm we have, although keeping ideas going is hard sometimes with an open canvas and no objectives driven from the game 😅

Hmmm, thanks @Luseth. I actually think it sounds like this playoff thing is a way to create maybe a casual gameplay alongside a competitive window where your team can sweat to try and win all 10 games? Hopefully its not full on and hopefully they will add some different ideas to the table after a while. Although its FC24 so that tells me we probably won't see too much change in one game given the past history of support for Pro Clubs. Still boggles me given its such a huge gamemode.

I worry for them that it still won't get enough traction when it does come out. Maybe some on PC, but I doubt they will be able to crack the console market with this.

Get in there!! We've been waiting for one of these games in the other thread about remaking some older games. And the great news that it looks completely new too. Like you say @J4MES OX4D, we'll have to wait and see what happens because there isn't any date confirmed 2024 just yet. Fingers and toes crossed.

29th February 2024! This game looks bloody fantastic and I think i'll have to try it out, regardless if the style of battle is not my preferred approach. There are so many updates to the world, including the chocobo races, minigames, etc that really makes it feel a super large value game - similar to the first one all those years ago.

Makes me want to get an Xbox Series @Riff Machine . Just to chill out on the sofa and play a game that just sounds hilarious and feels great. Did you play it on Xbox or with an Elite Controller on your PC?

Great night @phil bottle and @Luseth. Really enjoyed chilling out on it and then working out a way to do it next time round. A fourth person will totally help for sure but I hope even more get it. Reminds me a little but of heists on GTA we used to do but probably slightly better as its FPS and different ways you can do each mission. I hated the ironsights initially on the CAR-4 AR you get as I couldn't really see where I was aiming but we soon worked out, the cash you get from doing a job, you can spend on upgrading and customising weapons. Red Dot sight for £10k wasn't too bad and significantly changed my shooting. And yes, Pink coloured guns are available for a small fee, aren't they Matt? 🤣 15-20ish minutes per job so far it feels like. I think thats pretty decent timing. Not even sure how many jobs are in the game but given its £35, I don't think they'll be millions initially. Oh, and we all went full throttle on testing crossplay! Me on PS5, Phil on PC and Matt and Xbox. We used Discord for chat through each device and its worked great! Funny how its been around for ages but I know many of us just haven't really needed to use it much, so its good to know everything was all good and worked a treat.

He has to retire at some point I guess! Difficult to know right now what it will do to PlayStation for the future but I wouldn't expect this to change anything much in the short to medium term. He has overseen some almighty years and pulled them back from the brink when the original Xbox and Xbox 360 took control of the market.

Looks like fun, nice find Chad @Riff Machine ! I was only a little worried when it looked like 4 players max, but it seems its 8 max in a lobby which is a great size for party games. Unfortunately Xbox and PC just at the moment. They want to bring it to PlayStation but I imagine some hoops to go through with Xbox on their exclusivity.

Me too tbh! I think its more about how creative they can be with physical items moving forward - could even see the reintroduction of the cardboard SNES and N64 boxes perhaps?

Damage is done now though. I saw Terraria plough 100k donations into new developer engines as an act to get behind other smaller engines. Trust is so vital these days and can really grab more sales than these big corporate companies realise.

What I'm still mulling over is this strange concept that they follow - they all fundamentally agree that console gaming is the place that you need to keep producing games and the biggest market that will keep them ahead of the pack - and to do this they create physical consoles. However, games then go digitally and no physical games to coincide with this? I think they forget the concept of surprises, birthdays, Christmas, presents, anniversaries, special editions, unique items....they all are catalysts for games to be bought and 8/10 times, these work because they are tangible - something you can touch. I still think the retro scene would be booming right now if people wanted to make games for more simplistic consoles. I imagine most of the sales won't change too much until the world comes out of the cost of living crisis.
