As soon as I saw the initial reports about her health early afternoon I knew she passed away and it was a matter of protocols being completed before the death was announced. The media would've looked utterly ridiculous had she made a recover so it's safe to say they knew to a degree and I think a lot of people expected it. She had a great innings and accomplished so much around the globe and I was somewhat taken aback by the amount of statues all around the globe in locations where she made a difference. She's been at the helm for many people's entire lives so it's gonna be weird not having her presence in every day lives especially once money changes over along with stamps. I'm not even sure what's gonna happen to the national anthem either. On a lighter note, I'm kinda pissed off that the TV and sports schedules have now gone tits up aside from horse racing (i wonder why...) but she does deserved to be remembered for all that's been accomplished over many days to come.

I had Attitude on Dreamcast and the only good thing about it was the huge visual step up at the time. Other than that, the controls were clunky as hell and the atmosphere was really dead. Smackdown really brought everything to the table but the forward roll to get back to feet made it lose some realism factor although it kept the fights flowing.

Some of the maps look a bit better but in all honesty all they've done is add a few containers, barrels and ammo boxes for cover and moved a few trees around. It's really desperate and tragic although they do look less open and barren now. It's also taken way too long for this to happen - DICE were already working on their 5th map expansion pack by now for BF4 yet in BF2042 they only have about 3 new maps in 11 months. It's pitiful really. I still think the textures look extermely low quality and plain and the game is desperately missing map-changing levolution elements and naval maps. The team that's taken over the game are clearly working hard but there's just way too much to be done to turn this around whilst DICE who fucked this up every step of the way are currently working on their new game.

Setting looks interesting from the artwork but let's face facts, it'll be another re-skin, set in a needlessly gigantic world where the story is spread thin and the map is bloated with mind-numbing side quests consisting of outpost liberating with x-ray vision whilst being able to climb anything and having no fall damage blady blah. I'm actually really sick and tired of this franchise now - it's basically an single player RPG with a live-service basis and what you see in the first hour is what you get for the other 60. Ubisoft will never make a masterpiece, nor will they ever make a great game and it's brands like this that's making the company stagnate into mediocrity despite having a huge budget and technology available at hand.

China getting its claws into more technology brands or a greater share is terrible news for gaming and for the safety of users. I am shocked From Software sold themselves out especially after such a successful year. Give it a few years and these investments will result in majority holdings or even full takeovers and then bingo, everything funds China and users will be forced to install more driver level kernel-based software to run games which puts their device at risk of read-malware. Sony are on their last legs in this industry - we just don't see it yet. They've had so many acquisition opportunities go begging and they don't bring anything new to the table aside from a powerfully overpriced device that has very little games. They are also letting major home-brands go to their neighbors which is unforgivable and quite embarrassing.

I couldn't even be bothered to finish the Remastered version again on PS5 so I very much doubt I'll ever buy these even at a steep discount. Looks really good but as said already, a completely unnecessary 'remake' of a perfectly good remaster and a waste of 3 years of resources. I really enjoyed the experience when I finished it the first time but for some reason I can never seem to get another playthrough done.

Anyone a fan of these games? I probably haven't played any of the classics for almost two decades but have fond memories of them. Generals was probably my favourite as it was a more authentic military-based one with some really fun weaponry and missions. Never got round to the Zero Hour expansion which I am now eager to play. I'm kinda itching for the collection to go on sale on Origin so I can swoop the lot and am interested in trying Red Alert 3 plus Kane's Wrath too. C&C 4 was the death of the series in more ways than one but at least we got the remaster. Hopefully Generals will get one down the line although EA never do what their customers want. Most iconic thing about the entire series is the b-movie presentation and how they managed to swoop so many big actors - at times it does look like a potential porno is gonna break out but it was a really impressive part of the presentation that compensated for a top-down almost 2D series. Had a real charm about it despite the cheese.

I've watched quite a bit of gameplay footage over the last couple of days and some of the writing has to be the worst I have ever seen in any type of entertainment media ever. Many have described the script as written by a typical Twitter user and others have said it's been seemingly written by an AI. I think both are quite accurate descriptions and from what I've seen, I think the majority of non-writers of all ages and backgrounds could do a better job. A far cry from the source material which was hilarious, offensive and really made the characters memorable. I don't know where the hell they get these so called 'writers' from but the most hilariously tragic thing of all is they have Reddit and Discord mods named in the end credits which sums it up perfectly😂 A couple of these have apparently made some very nawty statements and have deleted stacks of community contributions because they personally didn't like it. The developers also seem to be getting very angry at the community for pointing out bad things of the game such as gamebreaking bugs.

Some nutty deals appearing in their store - Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy on PS5 is $3 and $6 on Steam - literally a £50$60 product. Sadly demand has caused a wait list but get in there for a deal of the decade

Big sticking point for me is that they've failed to meet demand for 18 months straight by a ridiculous margin and now stock is miraculously flowing, the price has gone up to they are really maximising income on people that have been waiting since almost day one. Quest 2 has gone up by £100 yet it's on devices that have been in retail circulation for over 12 months so the inflation excuse on already produced units does not wash and that's the card Sony are playing right now. Soon they will use the line 'it's gone up but at least it's not as expensive as what the scalpers have been charging'🤣

From what I gather after digging a bit deeper, this is basically a reboot. Really not sure why they are doing this because it never went down as a good or popular game but it may be their chance to correct all the wrongs in which there were plenty of. They definitely have a good grasp on the artistic side but the gameplay aspect was abominable. Also very risky retaining the same name to a game which isn't even a decade old however it could overwrite all of that if this version is better.
