  1. Looks awesome! Love it when the developers get upstaged by gamers especially Bugthesda🤣

  4. The biggest slip since Gerrard v Chelsea
  5. Stunning and Brave!
  6. I also forgot to mention that Activision even blocked their API because users were reverse-engineering match data to determine the algorithms in play for a specimen pool of users. Not only was their framework blocked, that information was also bound to a desist order. Basically Activision going to extraordinary lengths to cover up their matchmaking processes. MW2 had the best matchmaking because it was random and based purely on connection. I loved going into matches and not knowing what to expect. Black Ops 1 was also very good with the extended option of choosing locale only. Developers have claimed that these two games also had SBMM but that's total bullshit as my lobbies were always varied especially in BO1 when you could literally see leaderboards going into games and combat records too. Matchmaking should be simple and to benefit connection as a priority but Activision make it all about money and psychology. Sadly it works.
  7. This kinda came out of nowhere and has just launched in early access. Supposed to be a bridge between Arma 3 and the upcoming Arma 4 whenever that is available Arma Reforger on Steam STORE.STEAMPOWERED.COM Experience authentic Cold War combat and join friends in the struggle for a sprawling, 51 km² mid-Atlantic island — or take on the role of Game Master and create your very own scenarios for others to enjoy. Gonna do some research on it because Bohemia + early access = scares me.
  8. That's what they want people to think but it's actually a form of monetised matchmaking that manipulates gameplay and your connection to either get users spending more on microtransactions or increase player retention. SBMM did live up to the name a few years ago but now it's all about fake ping, phantom connection issues, inflated lag compensation and heavily curated lobbies that will always disperse once a match completes. Cold War showcased this the best for me - I'd have one epic game, a good game and then an absolute nightmare. I could go 40-5 hitting everything and then 7-28 not being able to land a shot and feeling like I was always behind the play. Just when I was ready to rage quit, I'd have a blinder and then continue playing only to get trapped in the cycle. Other players get roped into buying P2W guns and are deliberately matched into lobbies where users might be using them. There was patented concept sheets leaked a few years ago about this that people have forgotten about and it's already well in motion without most realising. Only way to really get round it is tank your K/D with a burner account and then join it with your main to reverse boost like every YouTuber but that's no fun. Connection-based matchmaking will never return with Crooktivision at the helm. Matchmaking and matches in general are rigged which is why the fun is sapped out of many of the games in recent years. Activision even DMCA'd most of the videos that studied extracted datamined material of their matchmaking processes and from what I remember, skill is literally the last thing that matters now unless you are a gutter-ability player.
  9. Top 4 race has turned spectacularly! I can still see Spurs losing 1-0 away at Norwich on the last day though🤣 Been such a strange season as I don't feel anyone outside of the top two have done all that well - no consistency anywhere and plenty of silly results. Glad Spurs have turned a corner and are beginning to form some identity but they need to seal that final spot and then really back Conte through the summer. Bet Arsenal are really regretting giving Arteta that two year deal last month! I've had money on Leeds going down all season but there could be even more twists at the bottom and top too so the weekend should be very exciting!
  10. Here we go Nvidia's RTX 40 series is set to launch as soon as July | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Will Jensen's well-appointed kitchen be the location? Meanwhile most people are still struggling to get a 30 series card. EZ money for Nvidia too and they wont give a toss who's hands their cards end up in as long as they get a fat payday.
  11. Both RE and SH lost the plot after a few games - one went arcadey and the other went cheesy. Thankfully Resident Evil has rebooted itself very successfully and it looks like Silent Hill is following the same trend. It defies belief that Hideo Kojima couldn't make the game that appeared as a tech demo during the early PS4 days. Now Konami seem to want a piece of the pie now their other franchises are petering out. I will never understand why both those series took such a downturn and went so far off-script after such early success.
  12. Jesus christ no wonder Netflix is bombing subscribers - yet another disgraceful Resident Evil attempt at bringing it to the screen that disregards source material spectacularly. Not only that, this one seems to be even more tone deaf than imaginable. Hard to believe that low budget Welcome to Raccoon City movie from last year was about as close as we'll ever get to a traditional Resident Evil movie/TV tie-in. The original RE films were way off the mark and there was no excuse with those as they were during the brands's height but this Netflix imagining is just so wide of the mark, it doesn't even resemble the series or the latest games in the slightest.
  13. Was leaked a few hours ago and although I take things with a pinch of salt, alleged images from the new Silent Hill were copyright struck by Konami themselves which suggests it's real.
  14. Embarrassing Good news is the NFT market seems to be collapsing spectacularly - millions being lost or getting scammed daily. Can't believe there is people buying digital real estate for worlds that don't even exist either!
  15. By the time the game releases we'll be playing Unreal 5 titles yet Starfield will probably still be running on the Morrowind engine but this time at 32x the detail🤣

  19. The only question that remains is what the business model will be - sounds like they are aiming for more of a live service. Early rumours suggested a F2P-type structure but after the hell that was eFootball, they may have second thoughts. I certainly think EA will do better than Konami if they did go down this road but I'd rather just keep things simple with annual releases.
  20. They've already signed up 30 leagues, 700 teams, 100 stadiums and 20,000 players so they can still have the entire game licensed but just not with the FIFA branding which is proving to be rather non-viable after this. FIFA wanted $1bn every 4 years which would've given all the teams automatically and World Cup content. Although it's hard to say how much licensing everything individually costs along with the extra paperwork essentially, EA can also acquire new partners and sponsorship's which would've been restricted when under the FIFA branding. More importantly, they can probably now add even more shady monetisation in the game without risking the wrath of the governing body. It wouldn't surprise me if the game is basically the same aside from a name change.
  21. I've been craving a new game like this as I'm a huge fan of the Arkham games - they just ooze atmosphere and capture the Batman style perfectly. This one I am a bit iffy about because the developer has a pretty limited track record and wasn't the one behind the original Batman titles. This team did work on Origins and also did a Wii port for Arkham City but aside from that it's been mostly DLC and assisting other developers. They may be biting off more than they can chew with this and the publisher also doesn't have a good grasp of the gaming industry either. Will definitely keep my eye on it but anyone expecting something to the tune of Rocksteady's classics may be sorely disappointed.

    EA Sports FC

FIFA 23 will be EA's last branded game because they want to retain the greed all for themselves an instead we have EA Sports FC and this very well could become a F2P ongoing live service. After Konami's spectacular total fuck up I'm not too keen on that model however it wont be anywhere near as ass as what they churned out. Wonder if there will be any takers for the FIFA brand now...
