It says at launch not throughout the lifecycle of the game, it would be so funny if they flipped the switch once people had bought the game.🤔

I played 3 matches on the Beta today. It's Advance Warfare named B07. Wall jumping, double jump, OCD movement. I'm not going to be playing that shit Guess they didn't get the memo last time about that movement non sense

    Battlefield 6

This is the game Call of Duty should have been in the past 3 years. As a Battlefield game, it's lost too much of its core DNA. It's still a good shooter that both COD and BF can enjoy but it really has blurred the lines and so many of these shooters have lost their identity for money and mass appeal. Once the honeymoon phase fizzles out the lack of content begins to burn here then I think the game will become more strained and people will be less forgiving. We also must not forget that the monetisation framework hasn't kicked in as of yet but that could put a further dampener on things. Some people are already peeved at how similar to COD certain aspects are particularly with unlocks and cosmetics. EA and DICE have succeeded in what they intended to do though and I feel COD players will be more happy with this game than Battlefield veterans.

    Battlefield 6

I get that but regardless he's not wrong we pay more money for less things, things that made the series great. I also think these days we've been given so many crap products we are happy with things being mediocre. It's a shame that as a franchise, much like CoD it's best years and games are behind it.

  10. Hey there, this is a community forum, if you want to join the community go to the Introductions thread and tell us about yourself. Also, engage with other threads and the interests of people in this wonderful community of ours. So far you're coming across as someone trying to grow their YouTube channel with no interest in anything else and we don't tend to respond well to that kind of thing. Cheers 👊

Too late in the day really. It's only because Battlefield 6 exists and Activision's 'too big to fail' statement is coming back to bite them. They will re-apply SBMM gradually and call it 'matmaking calibration considerations' or some other corpo drivel and it'll the the same old story. Probably happen a week after release too in typical bait and switch form.

  14. You joke about it and whether or not it is another topic of conversation but I suspect we will see it go round full circle. Digital is great and conveniant and has been for some time however as prices of all these subscriptions increase and mount up they won't hold their appeal forever. We are seeing it now with people returning to vinyl with music again, people also like to own things.

  17. It gets worse. I have it for free because of Game pass which I will cancel once my price goes up. But it was just sitting there waiting to be played yesterday when I looked so I figured I would give it a go. Time would have been better spent watching reruns of Mr Bean for the 30th time

I miss the days when developers would just throw all the content in day one and people would be happy playing for months. This seasonal shite is so tiresome now.

  21. I've watched several reviews now and sadly this has gone from a day one purchase to maybe when deeply discounted in a sale, which is a shame. Seems its more an action adventure than a RPG. What a pity. At least my modded standalone version of the original is still playable. Modern RPG-wise I may finally pick up Dragons Dogma 2 but will see.

    Battlefield 6

I am having a lot of fun with this game, it's not quite old Battlefield but it's got some of the good aspects of it. Firestorm is one of my least enjoyed maps purely because of the snipers sitting on the fekkin tower. I think they should increase the bullet drop on sniper's to add some more skill to them and that would probably help resolve my gripes with it. Generally the maps are pretty good, I really like Manhattan with the bridge and generally the gameplay is pretty good, I am finishing in the top 4 or 5 spaces most matches so I haven't lost my edge with the Battlefield games which is always a plus. I have not used tanks as much as I did on the past few games either. I think you can see a lot of COD players on the game, the way they move, the lack of utilising the classes, videos online moaning about mines and such and there is often a lack of thinking about how you play, understanding that taking bases closer to enemy HQ in some game modes pulls enemies towards them allowing your team to recapture bases and such. In addition I have also been playing with map editor, it's a bit fiddly but I am getting used to it and despite it's crudeness in terms of just plonking objects down I had my first map published last night so I can now host it in portal. I have every intention to try and create some smaller COD influenced maps just for FG use and maybe we could get them going on FG Friday's if anyone's interested?

  26. I saw when he made it initially in beta for free to download but I was worried it would take the shine off the golden old days! Let us know how you get on Philly 😎 Soccer Rivals was the one me and @Findmartin played to death on my Amstrad CPC 464. A board game styled management game, loved every minute of it!

  28. Well this was inevitable and will likely be one of many breaches thanks largely to half arsed 3rd party verification companies being targeted after the UK's embarrassing implementation of their online safety act ID photos of 70,000 users may have been leaked, Discord says WWW.BBC.CO.UK The platform says hackers targeted a firm that helped to verify the ages of its users. Never give away any personal information because you never know where it will end up or how it'll be used. Consequences may not be realised and it could take years to be discovered if at all.

Activision have fucked themselves with this one as it's shown that they're lying pricks. They put out those documents about their matchmaking process and they claimed that ping is king. This reduced skill matchmaking system shows that isn't the case at all. It's now 100% obvious that skill takes precedent over anything else when matchmaking.

I feel that Treyarch have shot themselves in the foot by adding this reduced SBMM (it's not gone completely) playlist. It's shown players just how strict the current system is so removing for launch will turn those players away from the game completely.

I've not really bothered watching this games promos as I got bored with the series and don't like mandy prickford who makes it. Looks much the same other than it seems to need some optimisation, pretty standard these days lol

  36. I think they will ultimately sell off BioWare and it'll be the correct decision for all parties. The studio has been a mess for well over a decade with several high profile departures and below-par games in terms of quality and the number of players. The new owners wont support a lot of the material in these games and the developers wont be willing to work for a company that don't share the same ideas or have their creativity restricted. I think the upcoming Mass Effect may get to market under EA considering how much money they've bankrolled BioWare over the years but I reckon they will go their separate ways eventually.

  37. I have nosed at game pass recently there are a few games on there I could quite happily play and may still pick up (not ultimate mind). That said you can see that there must be issues behind the scenes financially with everything they produce at the moment going up and up in price, I do think that with some of their recent acquisitions they must not have made anywhere near the amount of money they needed to, to justify the purchases. That said if Sony keep their subscription as is I can see it really pushing Microsoft's Xbox side of things further down the crapper.

you need your herbal tea grandpa :D. (I totally agree with you 🥷) By the way, that reminds me that I'm waiting for BULKHEAD's game. They're developing a game similar to BF. They already released Battalion 1944, a game similar to Cod 4 Promod, which was excellent but unfortunately died a while ago. If it could be a future competitor to BF, that would be good !

  41. They are blaming the tarriff's, but they are made predominantly in China aren't they? So I get the arguement then for raising prices in the US but not elsewhere. I suspect this is more that they are not making as much money from the consoles as they had hoped, they don't seem to understand that it is solely their fault. I mean everyone enjoys an era where games are more open and available on all consoles but the only first party stuff Microsoft has made since the launch of these consoles is flight simulator & Gears of war remastered remastered for a second time. There is no reason in today's world to buy an xbox console as far as I can see, to sell a product it still need's to have something that makes it stand out from competitors and they just don't have that. They have completely bottle this era, I mean Sony have not done a good job but Microsoft just blew them out of the water.

Compared to what though? Does my shotgun shoot in waves? does my pistol turn into a grenade? Do I have to listen to Villains talk like drunk white frat boys attempting to sound like hip hop artists? BL1 had a solid balance IMO of gimmicky weapons, and dialogue that was funny. IDK man, these games are clearly not for me, I'm going to go yell at kids on my lawn

  47. Putting this one here as though the Switch is handheld and we now have the Steamdeck the majority of handhelds are getting on a bit now. In fact it seems like there is not much of a future for them considering the power we have in our tablets and mobile phones these days. That said I have quite a growing handheld collection with a nice white psp being added to the collection the past week and it got me thinking about which one's are my favourite. We have the DS / 3DS consoles where there was an abundance of games and it was incredibly accessible for people, the PSP being Sony's first forray into handheld consoles and it being fairly successful to it's PS Vita offering which I think was maybe the best console but let down by Sony. So do you have a favourite, do any of them still get a look in with modern consoles, steam decks, nintendo switches being available? Are there any games that bring back fond memories? For me it is the PSP, partly because I had a PSP Go back when I used to work away and it was incredibly versatile, had an abundance of jrpg's that I loved (Jeanne D'Arc was brilliant as a tactics type game) and I used to sit at the top of 30m stacks just gaming and every now and again taking a reading. It was pretty great.
