FG Game of the Year
Riff Machine and 2 others reacted to WelchyTV for a topic
Here it is, the Forever Gaming’s Game of the Year video! I really hope you all enjoy, I have enjoyed the whole game of the year process and making the video! Please do give me any feeeback, both positive and negative/constructive. I would love to do this again for you all at the end of 2024 so would love to get some feedback to improve! I have posted the link to the FG video below, and also the YT link if anyone wants to watch there. Once again, thank you all for participating in the Game of the Year voting, I’m sorry if your favourite game didn’t make the cut but I hope you enjoyed it anyway!3 points -

Cyberpunk - PS5 upgrade patch
Riff Machine and one other reacted to Luseth for a topic
So I want to get on with my backlog of games this year with the intention to pick some platinums up in them, my current choice is Cyberpunk, I had picked it up before and played part of the way through only to get sidetracked by new titles. So now with the plan for this year to avoid buying games brand new and waiting for inevitable price drops it might mean I am less likely to get sidetracked for the next month or so. So I may take a half step back from multiplayer (mainly COD) and crack on with this, so far it has been good fun and the PS5 enhancement has been great, you really feel the guns with the Haptic triggers and it really looks lovely, I'm having plenty of fun with this though I probably need to check for any missable trophies before I get too far into the game. Anyway, as I go through my backlog I will post on here a bit more to see if others have played them and how they got on with them, never know it might result in others going back.2 points -

Ok so the video is practically ready to go. I will be uploading it to YouTube and to this website. I just wanted to check that it is ok for me to use the Forever Gaming Logo on the Thumbnail for the video? I assume it would be but thought it’s better to double check! If someone can let me know that would be great and il have the video uploaded soon!2 points -
It’s one of my favourite games of all time, any excuse to playthrough it again is great plus it’s only £10 if you already own the original game. I’m also really excited for the new No Return mode they are adding, their take on the Rogue Like genre. I love the gameplay on TLOU2 and think it will suit the Rogue like genre well!2 points

I forgot about Avowed! I don't really understand the last of us 2 remaster though, can I ask what interests you about picking it up?2 points

There are quite a few that I am interested in this year however I think I will have to be selective or wait for things to drop in price this year with everything that's going on at home, a few of the notable games for me - - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - Stalker 2 - Star wars outlaws - Suikoden 1 & 2 remaster - Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 22 points

The shooting and driving are so much better. I'm not a massive fan of the changes to skill progression but I can live with that.1 point -

Could be a good year ahead. I'm looking forward to Stalker, possibly Squadron 42, and will be keeping an eye on Gray Zone Warfare. Anyone else have any games on their horizon?1 point -

I've don't think I could name 3 games coming out this year so I'll just see what drops. I'm mostly planning on playing older games - currently going through Uncharted 4 again, then will probably do Monster Hunter World and after that it'll be No One Lives Forever, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection version and then the PC decompile of Zelda Links Awakening. I've even got Blade Runner installed to go through again at some stage. Looking forward to saving another £300 on not buying new games!1 point -

For me I think it’s going to be a year of catching up on my backlog of games! There aren’t too many games confirmed to release in 2024 that I’m excited about, off the top of my head it’s these: - The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered - Hellblade 2 - Avowed - Star War Outlaws Suggestions are that the Indiana Jones game will release this year, but I’lol believe it when I see it! There’s also still a lot of games releasing that we didn’t even know yet, so here’s hoping it’ll be another great year!1 point

I’ve got it priced up at £2000 for 4 days including the flights, a rustic cabin 15 mins from the Santa land and car hire….its a lot of money for a short time but the memories….1 point -
AI in the video game industry
Luseth reacted to J4MES OX4D for a topic
I can see the likes of Ubisoft jumping on this and the state of Call of Duty writing these days; it may as well be written with AI. Actually AI could probably do a better job than what Sledgehammer did for Vangarbage and IW for MW3. I think a few indie developers have already expressed interest in using AI generate art for some in-game stuff which could save time and money but the AAA ones shouldn't go down this route. It's bad enough with copy and pasted assets and concepts *cough *cough Ubisoft. Sadly if jobs are lost and big games go this way then the gaming community probably wont bat an eyelid as they support enough horrible practices these days as it is. On the other flip side, some of the writing in games is so dreadful, AI is worth consideration. It will be interesting to see if AI is capable of generating extreme-quality in-engine assets through which could be a game-changer but as of now, I only support hand-crafted games from reputable developers.1 point -
I believe they called it Squadron 42 because that's how many years it was going to be before it's released. All jokes aside, that is a game i've been looking forward to for a while. I feel like there's a lot a space type games coming out and i'm a bit spaced out.....as usual haha I was looking forward to Skull and Bones but that games had so many setbacks i'm not sure how it will turn out. South Park Snow Day looks great, plus it's four player co-op which could be great fun. Loved the previous two games. There's a couple of other games but not sure titles or dates have been released yet so will keep my mouth shut haha1 point

Being brutally honest, I need to remind myself what actually comes out this year! 😅 I would love for Destiny 2's conclusion to the Light and Dark saga to be epic as its been 10 years of Destiny and a very good game most of us have played for years doesn't go crap overnight. Would love to just chill and enjoy the different activities on it with others like we used to do. I'm likely to go back and look at my back catalogue and try and complete some games thoroughly too. Do we know if any of the early access games we've played over the past few years are getting big updates? Would love it if Valhalla got one. I'm off to check 2024 game releases...1 point -

Welcome to FG @Aztec2Four , hope you enjoy your stay at FG! Its a place where we do get to know each other more through gaming and other stuff we try and organise - never feel pressured to open up if you don't want to mate, you'll see its been helpful over the years for many of us, including myself. I should start making a grid of who people support to see where they're all growing from! 😅 We used to play R6 Siege a hell of a lot on PS4 days but we've dropped off that somewhat given how much the game develops and you really have to keep playing a game like that weekly to keep in touch of all the little pixel points on the map. We'll have to get your Activision ID to send friend requests as most of us all sit on PS5 playing CoD these days but now crossplay is becoming easier day by day, we could hopefully jump in together at some point soon...we have the lolz, but we still try and go to win every game, ironically its why we speak about W/L rather than K/D these days as we get older! Get involved where you can, looking forward to seeing you around FG!1 point -

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Am very comfortable with a little banter and shit housery (isn't that just a staple of British humour?). I've got a link to my steam ID on my profile as that's mostly where I play if anybo Also, I'm an Arsenal fan so I'm expecting a little roasting. COYG!1 point -
