No worries mate, I can understand work getting in the way. Just hard to judge between leaving a server up and no-one playing it or wiping the server. Yeah I should get back on vanilla. I just keep getting distracted by other modpacks 😄

i've done some things then had to travel for work.

I haven't played much, maybe 5 hours or so, but they've been regularly adding to the game since launch, which has been nice to see. It's starting to look like a proper game, I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Looking forward to the DMZ updates and plunder which I also like The sniper riffle will be a nice addition. the light house is a partial remake of the estate map from what I read. I always liked that map so that's fine with me. It will be a good map for thermal optics The $40 battle pass I am not going to do. I see no value in that. The 2500 COD points are not going to make up for it and I hardly ever use skins or camos anyways. Will see how it plays.

Yeah not going there, I'd be surprised if there is anything in this that will get me to change how I play this game. However I have to say they do know the type of people that get off on new CoD with the premium £30 quid battle pass.😉👍 Enjoy people.

Would you jump back on the vanilla server @Greboth in the meantime perhaps? I have some ideas for it.

Season 3 out next week. 3 actually NEW maps for MP. Plus loads of other stuff. Looks like a decent season for a change.

We have a solid day in now and it's still pretty fun. We started a new save yesterday and started building our base. Those fuckers attack often.

Not sure if it's an issue with anyone here, I moved to 10 years ago.... but just in case, as over a million accounts may lose access to Steam next year. “As of January 1 2024, Steam will officially stop supporting the Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 operating systems. After that date, the Steam Client will no longer run on those versions of Windows. In order to continue running Steam and any games or other products purchased through Steam, users will need to update to a more recent version of Windows.

Not far off what happened to me too 😅 Sorry Greebs, my PC time has dwindled as I'm out of routine. I'd much prefer getting into Vanilla again and then jumping on something on PC if we have the numbers. Until then, it could be easier to save the money and have a look at what other server that could be fun and bring more into it. I think we need to think of putting some events up so we know in advance too - for newer people, that should help if the veterans can be around to help with simple questions.

Season 2 was quite short in comparison to Season 1 I barely touched MP in season 2, only enough to unlock the new weapons and complete the event challenges. Which were really great fun. I levelled up to prestige 9 almost exclusively in DMZ. Had they not patched out the DMZ AI counting for the camo challenges in season 2 reloaded. I probably wouldn’t have touched MP during the second half of the season. Not because I’m not enjoying it just that I prefer DMZ, even when not going for missions it’s still great fun.

I'd agree with that. Although its funny as we've been playing MP mostly in Season 2 and its flown by. Both events were pretty decent too. Crossbow objectives were good and varied, and then the Path of the Ronin got you using different weapons for headshot which was fun to try and change up in each game. Here's hoping the free events are good again this time round. 2 6v6 new ones right at launch too. Backs up the theory that they just couldn't get them done in time. Hoping the Hatchery one is also 6v6 as they have confirmed its for Core so should be fingers crossed. Himmelmatt has been a decent addition and Dome plays pretty well (and quick). The new Black Gold map is going to be different for sure though. Night Vision Goggles needed - I think its a good thing they're trying different aspects out although i'm sure that will annoy some people because they can't do well on it 😄 Excited for Gunfight finally back in too. We needed that when just a few people are on....I may put together a fun 2v2 tourney between us all (all for fun obvs).

Ironically I did have a Windows 98 machine until a couple of years back, some of the MS-DOS games worked best on there whilst modern systems sometimes require some effort to get things to run ^_^ But yeah you guy's should be on Windows 11 now, what the heck are you doing? 😛

Yeah I'm the same, Windows 7 was sweet for gaming and yet still zero reason to miss the free upgrade to 10.

I'm still using Windows 98😎 People really need to upgrade especially for security reasons. This is why I wouldn't turn my nose up at a free Windows update. I was a bit apprehensive going from 7 to 10 initially but it had to be done and it being free was a bonus. Can't stay locked to obsolete operating systems forever especially from a security standpoint.

I've been remiss in checking in but how is everyone getting on with this? I know Matt completed everything about 3 hours after the server went live 😄 but looking at the server logs I can see no-one has been online in a few weeks. Are people stuck? bored? or has everyone completed the quests?

It’s a tricky one to compare to the SteamDeck in my opinion. Yes it’s a handheld gaming device but for the performance I’m expecting it to be, at minimum, twice the price maybe even 3x. At that price point the competition then stops being the SteamDeck and becomes gaming laptops. Still it’s good to have more options and i’ll be keeping an eye on its development.
