  1. It was fun for a few years, and I even got platinum on D2, thanks to FG. My problem is all the content, like raids, are only fun if you can actually contribute. To contribute, you must play a lot to reach the proper level or obtain the meta a.k.a. the unbalanced bullshit weapon of the week/season. I can't be asked to grind the same old shit day in and day out as it really is FOMO. If you don't keep up, you miss it, and I don't need that kind of extra stress in my life. I'm really happy that I've grown to know many of FG from D2 but that nostalgia trap is just that, a trap. I'd rather just chill and build cool shit in Valheim or 7 days. Hell, I've even recently started the Minecraft FG academy thing where I can build to my heart's content.

  2. I think for me at the momenI I am a still expansions short of the latest one so I need to pick them up first!! I am not against getting back on to it and time permitting will do at some point, I just limit my multiplayer game time because if I didn't I would be neglecting so many other good games. The problem with limiting mp game time is that often when I jump on to play with FG it is just on whatever game everyone is already playing. 9 times out of 10 that is COD and I don't think I have ever heard anyone suggest mid COD session shall we go and play something else. I find that after 2 hours of COD i'm getting a bit burnt out by it now and tend to stay on just because I'm chatting to FG people and not because I am really into the game. Why does an FG Friday for example have to commit to a single game? Can't it be COD for an hour or 2 and then Destiny for an hour or 2 or Fifa or whatever else. In fact looking at the last few FG Friday's it has been mostly COD for quite some time (even the among us night turned into COD from memory) and whilst it's a good game I imagine there are a few of us playing it just because it is where FG is at and for some chat, I imagine that could be done on any number of games ^_^

  3. Hi all, I’ve been playing since the Destiny 1 beta, this game just really struck a cord with me and the gameplay is just incredible, wasn’t really big on the story at first (well there wasn’t really one lol) but since it’s been improved I’m totally here for it, I love the hive lore especially, I stopped playing around the Curse of Osiris because the game was just not doing it for me anymore and it’s quite notorious for being bad around that time period but I came back for season of arrivals made a hunter and haven’t looked back, I also made a warlock but forever a Titan main, it’s definitely good to have different characters if you have the time so you can mess around with their kit and see how they play, the new player experience (New Lights) hasn’t been great but now with some changes it’s got to a decent place where it tells you step by step what you can do in the game to level up and try the different activities etc, overall less daunting than before, I’ve manly been a solo player because I just didn’t know how to team up with other players at first as I was the only one out of my friends who played Destiny so when D2 came with clans it was a good opportunity to try and play with other people and here I am, admittedly I haven’t played a whole lot with the clan but the people I have spoken to and played with are really awesome people and I feel comfortable jumping into any activities with them, I want to start raiding more and would like to do it with the clan and the people outside of it who are here regularly so it would be awesome to get some raid nights going again, I’m always down to help anyone with the game or pass on any knowledge I have, I do have 2 sons aged 2 and 7 so I have to balance play around them so evenings are usually when I play, I would love more people to get involved in Destiny because you can really make some memories, the Votd raid is one for me, So if you are thinking about trying Destiny again, please do because this game is special to me and has saved my life from depression and just a really dark place I was in after my mother passed away, wow that deep lol I just wanted to say my peace regarding this game, no it’s not perfect, yes it drives you crazy at times but the memories and friends you make along the way makes it all worth it and getting a raid exotic before everyone else, sorry this was long but I don’t write stuff like this much, thank you for reading and hopefully see you in game 👍

  4. Chad has made some great points, this latest expansion came out and because it's just the same format I know I can miss weeks then just catch up. Also with playing since d1 beta I can see how things have gone down hill especially the PvP side. Like cod which gets it's fair share of time PvP is quick you can drop in and out and not necessarily dedicate big time like you might in a raid. Now raids , I used to really enjoy but I feel the game raids, more complex than fun, dungeons and the awful grind has been implemented due to YouTube and is now built for @Baabcatof old 😁. I didn't even realise the new raid was out, watched one video and just like the last raid thought nah. My other problem now speaking personally is I only play with you guys on a weekend now cod is great to do that at the moment destiny just isn't due to needing to learn mechanics etc. Builds however are easier than ever and strand is quite fun.

  5. I'm like @SWAINEY84 and I've been playing since the D1 beta as well. Honestly, the biggest reason I stopped playing was the lazy copy/paste development issues, as well as the season model. I HATE it. H-A-T-E IT! Remember dropping a bright engram every time you hit another level at max? What was wrong with that if the reward was cosmetic? Ever since they implemented the season model, it's been monetized more and more each season. I'm just done with it all, especially with the aforementioned copy/paste design. The balls to call old weapons, armor, and areas, "new" is just absurd and disrespectful. The last season was honestly the tipping point for me. It's gonna take a lot to get me back into it. Also, Why should I have to wait a week to play a story mission? The biggest thing is, If I went back and replayed D1 from start to finish, I could replay the entire story from start to finish. You can't do that now with D2. I get the size of the game hurt performance, but that's what sequels are for. I feel like the shit started with beyond light should have been the start of Destiny 3. The foundation is there already. Improve on it. Thankfully, the biggest saving grace in all of this is I've had the chance to play some really good, and not so good, games as of late that I probably wouldn't have had the chance to thanks to D2 addiction.

  6. I've noticed a few mistakes about the games. Resi 2 was claire and Leon which for both you had scenario A & B which when you play A for Leon you had claires B going on as you run in to each other through out the game then vice versa. Resi 1 you had Jill & Chris but there was multiple endings you just had to do minimal changes through out the game for the endings. For resi 3 the original if I recall you had ly 2 endings one had barry Burton from resi 1 and that's the only 2 games you see barry in.

  7. Thanks for the views so far @Luseth @SWAINEY84 and @TurboR56Mini. @Luseth Matt, its difficult to explain how it used to be for quite a while. Most nights would be a one game thing through the week, as it was with CoD right now. However it used to be Destiny most of the time and then Overwatch other nights. I think the game is in a far better shape where we can chill and talk and not have to feel like we're miles apart becase the game doesn't have FOMO or any grind. Its more about learning techniques on how to play, build a armour set which even i need help with but its far better bouncing off you guys than just looking at a YouTube video. And FG Fridays, i've slacked tbh. They were never normally the same game like the past 6 weeks. You'll find some games can be on one night whereas others, just from experience I know that its easier just to stick up one game. I'll commit to getting the other Fridays up...although we need all round support to get people's butts online to have a laugh. They are still legendary so won't go away from here. @SWAINEY84, you hit some of the feelings I have. I know this game has actually helped people more in their own life than just playing, like yourself. There's now plenty of options with the Dungeons, Raids and now even the Strikes getting a facelift, that I think just running a few things together would be nice to do as a group. @TurboR56Mini, thanks for being honest. I think luckily, with raids and Dungeons there isn't really much you need before you go in that needs a heavy grind. FOMO is literally down to how we 'used to play' imo. We used to play so much that it felt like we couldn't have a day off! Now, I've missed so much that I don't care about getting everything, I just want to have the experiences together. In fact even back to Destiny 1, the stuff we remember isn't getting everything, its more the memories of epic laughter whilst doing a raid, or even just crucible together. I'm actually with you on wanting to build cool stuff on Valheim, the point should be we play this alongside other stuff, not to make it feel its the only game that exists at FG. Theres so much to talk about in the game that if all of us played it would give us a different perspective to what we had before now we have most of us starting from scratch or for the first time in ages.

  8. I think they should remake Code Veronica and then call it a day on that front. Would love to see them revive Dino Crisis instead, either as a new game or remake. I think Resident Evil 9 is in the works which will complete the Ethan Winters story arc.

  9. I didn't really enjoy the remakes of resi 2 and 3 due to the fact they were very short. I did a speed run on resi 3 and finished it in just over an hour. I enjoyed the original resi on the Nintendo DS as you could use the touch pad. I feel its time they stopped with the remakes and focus on new games that it between each game like they did with code Veronica x.

  10. So just been discussing this series with some friends, I have never played a Resi Evil game properly. I might have dipped in 1 or 2 for a few minutes but never comitted any real time to a game. Looking at 7 on the ps4 and having it in my library I plan to give it a go once one of the games I am currently playing finishes up. What I wanted to ask is your top 5's and recommendations? I felt retro is more apt as I suppose these day's the games before 7 are mostly retro?

  11. Hear me out for 2 minutes please. I'm really wanting to have a good discussion about it because I honestly feel like there is a game to be played that fits right into our fun happy place without the need to be having to grind or play multiple hours of it and feel 'left behind', etc. I look at the past feelings about CoD over the years, even money wise, but we keep coming back to that, paying the money and this time round its proven (generally here) that the latest one has been a success. I think a significant part of that is many of us here playing it and having others to group together on it - although I see many here too play solo and be fine with that also. So, being there still feels no superior competitor to Destiny 2, and given thats it had a pretty big overhaul of the game again just now, what would it take for you to come back? Or even, start playing for the first time? With Discord integrated with Xbox and PS5, we're even closer to crossplay feeling pretty simple now as the chat was the only major blocker for me (now its just PS4s ffs Sony). I'm just really interested in whether or not we could create that buzz and talk again about the game, given there is still loads of different activities to do and especially at Endgame where most here haven't completed any Dungeons (3 players) or Raids (6 players). So don't hold back, lets chat about it and be open. I feel an FG hole waiting to be filled in 👀 Lets try and be positive and constructive about what we could do together as a community. It could be Guides we could write together, open group up nights, videos, private matches, etc. And the existing ones that still play, give ideas on what you think we could do too! Looking forward to seeing what we all come up with. GGFG!

  13. Ah good spots! Easy to get the names jumbled up. Does the remake have these endings cos you said it was fairly short? I thought they remastered it with new sections, etc?

  14. Resident Evil 2 by a mile for me first, although I actually loved Resident Evil 3 because of how short it was. Back in the day, these games scared me so I was so happy to actually fully complete this one on its own. As people say above the camera aesthetics were/are unique for how the early ones played. Does the new one allow multiple playthroughs like the old one? The reason I say RE2 is because you were actually supposed to play it through 4 times. Once as Clare, then Leon and then vice versa to get the outfits. At least twice would show how forward thinking they were on how the stories were put together from different angles and perspectives. I may play RE1 again to see how it plays as I never got far with @Findmartin on it. For some reason, although RE4 was given huge praise I never really was interested in it. Mainly because it was actually the opposte of sneaking around and using ammo decisions. It was way more action packed and I actually like the look of the remake camera angle than the OG camera as over the shoulder was super close to the camera on PS2. I nearly have the whole set on GameCube just missing RE2 which I think may be a good playthrough from start to finish. Code Veronica has to be up there too as visuals and aesthetics are superb in that.

  15. Of all the one I played, the OG RE1 stands out as the creepiest and most memorable and while the old controls were very clunky compared to now, they kind of added to the fear factor. However, in terms of playing now my list is similar to Chad: RE4 RE2 RE1 RE7 RE8 is on Steam sale but I believe the spring/summer sale starts next week, so I'm watching my pennies...

  16. Although I am a fan of the series I didn't start playing RE until number 5, which I remember absolutely loving!! I then played 6, which i enjoyed but felt more towards a shooter. I didn't play number 2 until recently, and i love the way 7 and 8 play as they feel much more horror focused. I've never played any of the spin offs either. So this is my top 5.. Resi Evil 7 Resi Evil 8 Resi Evil 2 Resi Evil 5 Resi Evil 6 Also, can't wait to play 4 later on this year!!

  17. Res 4 Res 2 (Remake included) Res 1 (Original, Directors cut, and GC remake) Res 7 Res: CV I played the ever-loving shit out of 2 on multiple occasions, but man. When Res 4 hit, that instantly climbed into my top 5 games of all time. The GC version was so replayed, but when that Wii version dropped, the motion controls just added that little bit of extra precision that puts it on top for me. I did enjoy Village too, and it was close. But, I found it really faltered in the latter half. The suspense and terror were great until after the dollhouse. Then it just turned into a shooter.

  18. Episode 36 is LIVE!!! We talk about TTRPGs using AI-generated content and how some companies are explicitly keeping them out of their content. We also talk about Mar10 day, some games that really disappointed us among other things.

  19. I think it's about £3.99 in the Capcom platform-wide sales right now so I'd definitely grab it and give it a go.

  20. Defo give them a go Matt they are great. I personally love the first one from the ps1. And also number 2 as you could do the story through twice with slightly different paths playing as either Chris or Jill @GazzaGarrattand I spent many hours on them back in the day and would constantly shit ourselves! I might have to get on them again now but I'm too scared 😱😀

  21. I didn’t realise this and have intentionally avoided it as I assumed it would be trash! I might have to actually give it a try then

  22. I haven’t played them all, first 4 are ace for sure, 5 and 6 are good but they are very different games. Haven’t played any of the others I really enjoyed the remakes of 2 and 3 and if you get them at the right time you can get them for a steal on steam, I think I picked up both for around £15-£20 on sale and in a bundle, there will probably be a good deal on these when RE4 remake drops so my top 5 in no order as I can’t decide would be OG Resident Evil OG Resident Evil 2 OG Resident Evil 4 Remake Resident evil 2 Remake Resident evil 3

  23. I never played them all, but 1 and 2 especially 2 were absolutely solid and genius for it's time.

    DMZ Season 2

I'm so pumped right now! I can't believe that I just completed the Predator Mission on Crown Tier 4 I've been trying throughout the night to do it and honestly I wasn't actually expecting to complete it. I'll do a full write up of the mission shortly as I'm planning on writing up about the first half of Season 2 in my PPR and will for sure include this!

  25. Resident Evil 2 (PS1) Resident Evil (PS1) Resident Evil Code Veronica (Dreamcast) Resident Evil 4 (PC) Resident Evil 0 (Gamecube) I mostly like the classics with the fixed camera and tank controls. The remakes are mostly brilliant and 7 along with Village are two fantastic new takes on the classic series. Only with 5 and 6 did the franchise lose its way. The N64 version of RE2 is also hailed as one of the greatest ports of all time from a technical execution standpoint. Shoutout to the HD remake of the original RE which was initially a Gamecube exclusive before appearing on other formats - that was one of the OG remasterings in gaming.
