  1. I bought a new truck. I've had the same Ram since 2012, but gave it to my son. So now I have a 2021 Ram 2500 Power Wagon. I wanted something to off-road with and the PW is, IMO, the top of the line full sized truck for the sort of off road trails I have access to. I wanted to order a 2023, but order banks are closed and once they reopen it will still be an estimated 6-9 month wait to get one. I decided to go used instead and focused on the 2021 for the 75th anniversary package, which has a unique 2 tone interior that isn't available in any other Power Wagon. This thing is absolute tits for everything but fuel economy. I'm ditching the steps for actual rock sliders, which I've already ordered. Also need a bed cover, but otherwise don't intend any additions or modifications until it needs tires and I go to 35". PW comes factory with front and rear axle lockers, front sway bar disconnect, and is a 2500 (so heavy duty frame, axles, running gear) but sprung light closer to a 1500 for better ride and offroad flex. The 75th anniversary adds a ton of luxury features. Heated/cooled leather seats (mountain brown over black), 360 camera with tire paths, adaptive headlights (the lenses make the headlight beam sweep with the steering wheel so you're always in the 'sweet spot' and it's amazing), etc. This one has the sunroof and every option but the safety group (didn't want) and ram boxes (didn't care one way or the other). I bought it with 8107 miles on it and in pristine condition.

    California trip

We went out to California again, visiting the in-laws in Anaheim and taking the opportunity to go back to Death Valley and the Mojave Preserve. We didn't get to do everything I'd hoped due to flood damage closing some roads and trails, but we did get to see things we hadn't done last time. I couldn't sneak my Power Wagon into checked bags so I made due with a rental Ram Classic 1500 4x4. Only one hill was a little sketchy, it did everything else without drama, though I did get a little nervous on one section of softer sand. My wife wanted to stop for a photo but I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get going again if I lost momentum and I didn't want to rely on random Jeep Bros to help us out, though I'm sure they would have. Those are all from Death Valley. Temps were in the 60s most of the day, colder at higher elevations and warmer at lower elevation, so we did a lot more hiking the canyons and trails then last time. We stayed in the park again, but this time at The Ranch at Death Valley. Nice hotel, terrible restaurant. Avoid. Drive to Beatty NV or at least to Stovepipe Well village in the park, much better food. Various places in the Mojave Preserve, including the Lava Tubes, which was the main goal for the day. These photos were taken on the trail network behind my BIL's house. At least 18 miles of trails that start about 2 blocks from his back door. I think the last rock formation looks like a mummy, but some have said nun or mermaid when I showed it to them. I have a ton of other photos, but many are too big for my free host to accept and share. We went to Huntington Beach and climbed around on the rocks, found tidal pools with sea urchins and other little sea creatures living in them, went to the Santa Monica pier, and several other little day trips. I have to say I've rarely met anyone as nice and nobody more generous as my BIL that we stayed with. He's the one who donated 2/3 of his liver in a futile attempt to save SIL's life. Just a genuinely incredible guy and we got along great the entire stay. MIL was still there and of course that was great. I met two more BILs I hadn't met before, but work schedules and distance kept us from spending a lot of time together. All in all, a really great trip.

  3. I finished this last night and got the platinum trophy this morning. As with the first one, it was one hell of a ride. Yes, some parts I felt could have been fleshed out more, but all in all, fantastic game.

  4. You've gotta be a fucking idiot to pay for a fucking gun in COD. But then people stump up £20+ for a stupid skin. So I guess COD players are idiots. Although I think that whoever thought of doing this is a genius.

  5. 100% agree mate. England seemed to give a lot of people delusions of winning the World Cup with that first game against a bad team, making them forget the fact we got relegated from the nations League competition because we played exactly like last night for six games against good opponents. The US played well but we seemed to have no idea what to do and defaulted to passing it backwards and defending as deep as possible to not lose. To cap it all, if wales do go nuclear and beat us soundly we could go out to them and either the US or Iran, the very team we beat 6-2.

  7. That's right folks, people are selling that new Assault Rifle on Ebay for around £5. So they will drop it for you at a price. That's what happens when they do stupid challenges for new guns. People will try profit from it, wouldn't happen if we had a more traditional unlock system. 🙄 Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 players are buying a weapon on eBay as it's easier than unlocking it in-game WWW.EUROGAMER.NET Modern Warfare 2 players are paying real money on eBay to unlock a hard-to-gain weapon...

  8. When did it become any of your business what people do with their money. Whether it be hookers/Cocaine or stupid guns. It's their business. Depending on how much you get paid, you might make more than that an hour which and it's likely to take you more than hour to grind for it Personally I don't have that gun. But if people want to pay for a gun or a burgertown skin its their business

  9. Well I've decided I'll be retiring from trucking for some months. I heard about a method of gluing the encoder back together, so spent time this morning dismantling it all again, and this method probably works with the right strong glue, so all I did was make it messy and it wasn't bonding the plastic. The only other option is spend money on a brass encoder, which probably does work but costs more than I'd like to spend and ships from abroad. I don't have the room or space to keep it dismantled anywhere until a fix is found, plus not a huge fan of the pedals. So I'll hang my keys up for now and try and save some money if I can to buy a new wheel, so recommendations?

  10. Japan bottle it losing 1-0 to Costa Rica - could've sealed their spot in the last 16 but have blown the group wide open and let Germany back into it. Belgium losing 2-0 to Morocco and getting outplayed once again puts them in a tough spot needing to beat Croatia in their final game. From what I've seen, they are well and truly past it despite having the strongest team on paper in the world for a good few years. Roberto Martinez was not a good choice with those quality of players and their overall composition. Spain v Germany tonight will be massive!

  16. Yep @GazzaGarratt, fixed the year too, it's a '68 not '69. Have had it 20 years now, my dad and I built it back in highschool. Bought it 2001, painted it in like 2006ish. That picture is a few years old but it was taken in the town we live now so it's current. Have not driven it in a few years which is killing me. Need to dump some money in it for new suspension, the 60 year old components need some love after a massive pot hole was hit a few years ago. I plan on dumping another 20k into it so just waiting. This is a body on frame car and they make some killer aftermarket rolling chassis's these days. They come with all new suspension too so that's like 12-15k right there. Have been working on the house for the last 7 years so it's on the back burner for now.

  19. I currently dart around the A roads of Northamptonshire in a 2017 VW Polo Gti 6C Bought a couple of years ago as I was missing the feeling of racing on a regular basis thanks to various injuries, and just wanted something that made my drive to work a bit more interesting. Was torn at the time between a couple of different cars like the Golf GTi/R and a BMW 125i/330, but saving for a wedding at the time and remortgaging the house made me consider finances and thought I needed to be a bit more sensible. It’s a great little car for me and the wife, with plenty of power and great handling and regularly makes me laugh. Definitely surprises a number of more powerful cars in the twisty bits. Only downside is that it’s not got much space in the back and pre Covid I was spending every week at the fuel pump spaffing away 50quid a time on Mr Shells finest 😂

  20. For the sake of nudging @TurboR56Mini to talk about cars, because he loves cars... We have a r53 MINI Cooper S that we dumped a good amount of money in last year lol. We are never getting rid of it. We do actually want a classic Mini one day. Our order for the new Ford Bronco was just put in... Can't wait for that. Yes, manual for everything.. because more fun. Not efficiency. Fun. Also, to help keep me awake while driving hahaha.

  23. I'm really impressed with that little Stonic, it's a fantastic little car. We were looking at X-Ceeds a while ago and I ended up having a mooch around the showroom and honestly Kia make great cars, as do Hyundai. I remember the days when driving either of these marques was basically self-admission that you've failed at life. It's awesome how far they've come!

  24. @phil bottle its a BMW, therefore I have to side with @Diddums, even if they own MINIs now. I know @Nutcuttlit had a rough deal on Kia's but honestly, we've not had a problem with my wife's Stonic. Its a really nice car and kind of gives you a feeling of a bigger car but not having to go full hog and buy an SUV or 4x4 like every mofo in the world wants to show off their big willy's and fanjita's. Its a damn smart car that has lots of space for the cost and would you probably save you a packet based on the next one up (Sportage).

  28. Still rocking the Mini, needs a bit of TLC but it's honestly the best car to have in London. I can squeeze it through any spot, park it on a dime, costs £lol to run, don't care if it gets a scratch or ding, and I can honestly say it's one of the toughest cars I've ever driven. It probably spends more time airborne than it does on the road what with all the speed bumps. How the front valance is still holding on is beyond me. She wants an SUV though and is sort of set on a BMW X1, because... you know... women. Logic doesn't go beyond "that one looks pretty" but this is a discussion for a different thread!

  33. It's a funny story actually because I didn't ever plan to buy a Merc. I had a Ford Ranger for work before this car but it was no longer needed so I wanted to part ex that in for something the wife and I could both drive. I tried to buy a Mini estate but those fuckers would not sell me a car. Our budget was £25k and the clubman fit in that budget beautifully but they wouldn't part ex my van. They kept telling me to go down to we buy any van and part ex it there......I was like 'um that's a you job, not a me job'. Anyway, one of my clients owns a Merc franchise and I was telling him about the interaction at Mini and he was losing his mind so he said, I will sell you a car. I told him my budget was £25k max and that wasn't going to get me a lot of car but he insisted. The next day, knock at the door and there's a C class AMG estate at the door - please use this car for a week and see if you like it. So we did and we loved it. Drove it back to the franchise and said, yeh we love it but the price was £47k!, he said what did you like about it? I said the size and the colour but I didn't need an AMG.....long story short we get the C200 Sport Estate brand new for £27k, he gave us a £12k discount using the friends and family scheme etc etc.....absolutely mental. It's defo the best car i've ever owned and it's super safe and the wife can drive it. Winner.

  34. I had a CLA for a hire car in Gothenburg last year on a business trip. Must admit, it definitely got me thinking!! I'm with you guys though. I've always been a big Audi fan but never owned one. Seeing as Seat are part of the same group as Audi, I can only surmise the A3 would be an even better quality version of my Leon.

    What car do you have?

Yeah BMW's definitely have that label about them I feel. It depends on my mood really, sometimes I'll look at a BMW interior and think "wow thats boring, Audi is so much better" then sometimes I'll think "looks clean and simplistic, mature". So who knows lol. I think I'll end up going for an Audi though, its something I've always wanted. Definitely S line trim too though 😄

Very nice mate. I finished paying off my car 2 years ago now and currently saving for a house so will probably just keep this car and run it into the ground almost until after we're settled in house. Looking at either an Audi A3 or A4 as always wanted an Audi but I do like the class and elegance of a Mercedes. My mate has a brand new E class as he's a taxi driver and when we go on lads holidays the comfort to the airport is sublime
