  1. I don't know how the hell I missed these games when they initially released, but god damn, are they fun! Imagine Link to The Past if the perspective was a bit more isometric, had a hand-drawn art style, and the main character was a cat, and a dog in the sequel. I finished the first game rather quickly as I just couldn't put the controller down. It's one of those games that doesn't need a multitude of systems and other BS most AAA titles have to be enjoyable. So far, the sequel is just as good but with the addition of couch co-op/online co-op. Right now, you can grab both games on PSN for $10. Worth it IMO.

  2. So this is a series I have always been fond of despite the games not doing so well in recent years. I'm quite glad to see the new game is reviewing well so it's looking like something I want to pick up (see if I can convince my wife to pick it up for christmas maybe ^_^). Star Ocean: The Divine Force Reviews OPENCRITIC.COM Star Ocean: The Divine Force is rated 'Fair' after being reviewed by 12 critics, with an overall average score of 73. It's ranked in the top 44%... Not sure if anyone else is a fan of the series here? It looks like it has had a smaller budget than recent games but they look like they have done more and been a bit more ambitious with it which has gone down well 🙂

  3. The last Star Ocean game I played was Second Story way back on the PS1. RPGs were the king at that point, but it had to compete with Square Enix. I may give this one a look.

  6. I think Kill streaks are largely responsible for that. They tried to change that with score streaks but I don't think they were successful. I tend to play the objective but I noticed that it is much easier to get the needed number of kills than it is to get the score. Camping your ass off to get 7 kills for a sentry gun just seems a lot easier to than running around trying to cap two flags and getting 875. Everytime you change spots you risk being shot, claymored, kill streak. I remember playing barebones and streakless game modes and it seemed to me like those were not as bad

  9. There's been strong rumours of an MGS1 remake in the last year or so but with Kojima gone and Konami being bastards, even if it did happen, I don't think they'd do a very good job. Konami also hate making money it seems as they have so many big IP's on their books but they don't seem to want to make the most of them.

  10. I received a letter yesterday saying I'm getting £2300 back from a loan overpayment (no idea how the fuck that even happens!). Which meant I did what any sensible person would do: spent a load of it on something I don't even need 😁 So I've bought an LG C2 OLED TV. With a £75 Ebay voucher I got one for £874 (I only got 42" as I sit a couple of feet from my TV). So pretty soon I'll be able to look down on all the peasants with TVs that are merely 60hz 🧐

  11. I actually bought some dvds recently. Uncharted - Actually really enjoyed the film and the chemistry between Wahlberg and Holland. Stuck pretty much to the format and style of the games even down to an auction heist, and with the cast it gives them plenty of opportunity to do more films. The Batman - was never really sure if I would like this as it’ll be the 3rd Batman in 10 years, but enjoyed the take of a grungy, brooding detective without all the military grade gadgets. Another positive for me was the fact they didn’t go straight to another joker too but instead to a more diabolical Riddler character, whilst introducing others like cat woman, penguin and lt. Gordon. Fingers crossed they last longer than Affleck’s run as the dark knight. Top Gun: Maverick - Great film and cast.

  12. Taraq also has a ground war variant although this one is a bit different and less bleak. Pretty open and still pretty horrible but at least there isn't a million rooftops or rooms for people to camp with.

I just picked this one up Thursday, and I've been enjoying it so far. It's giving me a Metroid vibe for sure. The level up system is somewhat similar to Dark Souls and when you die, you lose your currency at the spot of death. I'll dig more into this one over the weekend.

  16. I totally agree with all being said. Much rather play border crossing map than Taruq tho 100%. Taruq is worse than Picadily and Azhir Caves from MW19. 🤢

  17. I've thumbed them all up apart from Santa Sena and Taraq. They're all pretty playable 6v6 maps - nothing that will go down in COD folklore but it's much better than having 3 decent ones, 3 awful ones and 3 you never want to play ever. I maintain, whoever is responsible for the border crossing map should be jailed.

  18. Really cool idea @GazzaGarratt. My favourite is Mercado Las Almas, followed by the racetrack one in 2nd place. Worst is Taruq, it's just shit, underwhelming and exposed. Horrible potential to be spawn trapped. Too many people camping windows in buildings. A disgrace of a map and also very boring. 2nd worst is Sena boarder crossing, but to be fair I'm enjoying it more than my first couple of matches on it. You just have to play a bit different and slower on it to achieve anything.

  21. I think it fits the large amount of casual players at launch, not saying I agree with it though overall as I want it to be interesting to try attachments to find a great loadout too. Just don't be surprised that if we see in the first balance patch that stock guns aren't as good as they were at launch. I must admit, it didn't stop me from doing the M4 Gold Camo after one day. Maybe cos the sheer amount of attachments this time round, means there are some good combos but we have to really look out for them and try different options until we find one thats better than the stock.

  22. I actually think thats a good thing. KC games where it swings either way just near the end are always the games we all as a team get hyped to try and get the last tag for the win. I find its 1 in every 5/6 games we probably get absolutely turned over, which i'm fine with. Its gonna happen from time to time. re the attachments thoughts @J4MES OX4D @TigerBurge @Luseth , maybe its a launch thing. For instance, make stock guns that everyone accesses pretty decent feeling so they get into the game and a later patch will rebalance the stock guns? I think thats a sound model how to get people engaged initially anyway. I'm finding the right scope is DEFINITELY making a difference. I also think having less attachments on should work too. It would annoy me if most guns would only work well with teh full 5 attachments on it. I'm sure theres some good combos people have found though as they've unlocked way more stuff.

  23. This one confuses me also. They are trying to keep guns from being OP but with that they have made it where your gun is better without attachments. For the most part I fun at a max 3 attachments. One has zero negative effects then the other two counter acts each other.

  24. About half of COD players just go for kills. They know full well that they are playing an objective mode and what is required to win but most of the time they will only seek as many kills as possible even if the team loses heavily. I don't think this attitude will ever change - they've tried in the past to bolster objective XP and reduce kill XP but even then people will rather go 21-9 and 0 captures than 30-27, 7 captures, a win plus a fat load of XP on top.

  25. I saw that, generally I run 2 or 3 attachments rather than trying to fully kit out the gun. I find a sight is important, I sometimes fiddle with the ammo but the grips and such I don't utilise so much because of all the added negatives. I'm enjoying the game more than I thought I would, I think my only issue and it tend's to be an issue with COD games is more often than not you get half a lobby fully of players ignoring the game modes and essentially playing TDM. Hardpoint and game modes like that you can see the seconds or captures a player does and you will usually see 4 or 5 with less than a couple of seconds or no captures, just baffles me that, why don't people go play TDM then? Or is it just because the quickplay has everything on by default?

  26. I don't play those terrible game modes 😉🤣 Its crazy the scores, I've had so many drawn games or ones where the final score is within 1 or 2 tags 🤣

  35. Ok, checked BBC sport for football updates, Stoke have just scored. Goal! Stoke City 1, Southampton 0. Asmir Begovic (Stoke City) right footed shot from more than 35 yards to the high centre of the goal. Assisted by Erik Pieters. He's the goalkeeper. They just carried on commentating like this happens all the time.

  45. We do lack quality in wide positions, everyone we have just seems to have place in their game... Walcott- injured, has actually been pretty decent recently Chamberlain- probably our best winger, has all the attributes and desire to do well, unfortunatly injured Townsend- unproven, hasn't exactly done much of any note over the last few years Milner- poor Adam Johnson- greedy, but dosent posses the talent or end product for such greediness Downing- injured, good crosser, but generally poor Jarvis- pace no end product Sterling- no end product Young- sometimes has something special, has been out of favour of late Welbeck will probably play wide left and Milner on the right... EDIT, Lennon is just shit...

  46. Socrates, one of the greatest Brazilian midfielders of all time was a 40 a day man, just saying. Seriously though, Wilshere's being a bit of an idiot, the physical condition of players these days is the highest it's ever been, smoking won't do him any favours, from health or profile point of view. Can't you tell I've been smoke free for a week, with all this preaching!!
