  1. Me and the missus bought this after hearing it as background music in a restaurant on holiday in Wales...happy days 🙂

  2. I can appreciate that, the number of remasters and remakes coming through have sort of stagnated the games industry. People are buying them because there is nothing else but then developers keep making them knowing that it's an easy return and a fairly safe bet. I have a fair few games in my backlog at the moment but generally because they are so similar to what I have played recently it's difficult to muster up the enthusiasm to play them. It's another plus for retro games in that the variety is broader and much more diverse with ideas and the such.

  3. Not much on the horizon that interests me - there's been a few interesting tech demos and trailers but nothing really worth shouting about that I'll have any real confidence in. Will probably be another 3 years before anything truly next gen comes out either. I've cancelled my new PC order last month and will probably look to offload my PS5 in the coming weeks too.

  4. Escape from tarkov - My PC struggled with this one, I'll be return inindustria - cold war alternate reality shooter. Seems very much like half life 2 dystopia vibe. Just my jam. Hellsinger - Shoot to the beat awesomeness with metal soundtrack. Basically looking forward to rediscovering my games on ultra settings!

  5. Yeah I'm pretty much focusing on indie and retro right now - so many important developers getting drawn in to wasting time on rehashes and publishers still commissioning old gen games which is holding things back. There's really no standout, original or titles that take risks on the horizon and I'm sure we'll get another Assassin's Creed live service soon too that's a reskin of the last🤣 I haven't even bought a game in the Steam sale yet and feel I've played all I want to play on PC so far. If I ain't got it already then I don't want it or have no desire to play it, is where I'm at with that. So many frustrating delays too.

  6. Forspoken - Sad about the delay, hoping it'll be good on release. Hellsinger - Same reasons @crispymorgan gave. Saint's Row - Very curious to see how this reboot stays true to the original games. The Callisto Protocol - aka Dead Space 4 Moonscars - Love me my metroidvanias (Insert game name here) - (Super obvious reason why Batman wants to play it in his underwear)

  7. Another one I gave a quick go on during Steam Next Fest. It reminded me a lot of Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre. There is some rouge lite elements in here, but I didn't fully flesh out my play-through. The sprites are decent and the level are very minimal. This one is clearly focusing on the combat and it feels pretty good. I'll play more of this once it releases.

I had the chance to try this out during the Steam Next Fest and I'll definetly pick it up once it releases. Reminds me a lot of Blasphemous, also a 2D metroidvania that released sometime last year. It has a very gothic/Castlevania type look to it and the gameplay is fairly tight. I can already tell I'll be dropping some F-Bombs while playing this one.

  9. Sooooooo I got a bonus and need to spend it before it gets spent. I bought myself a nice ultrawide monitor which has obviously taxed my current 1060 to within an inch of its life. Do I wait for the 4000 series? wait for the 3070 ti to drop a bit more in price? Is intel the best CPU? All these questions and more in todays episode of........ WHAT THE FUCK SHOULD I BUY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  10. Playing fifa the other night and it was discussed what games are coming up over the next couple of months. The past 6 months has been somewhat quiet with a couple of exceptions so thought to raise awareness about games that are coming up it might be worth us just talking about games we are looking forward to turning up in the near future so just to begin things - Saints row - This looks like it might be a return to form with the last couple of games getting too wacky (is that a thing with saints row?) one of the noteworthy additions with this new game is that there is going to be the addition of drop in co op so you could play through the main game with a friend! Hogwarts legacy - My wife is a huge fan of the series and I enjoyed it growing up. This looks like it could be the harry potter game everyone always wanted though it has been marred over the past year with some of J.K Rowlings opinions. That won't personally stop me and I am quite excited for this. Marvels midnight suns - This is basically x-com with a marvel skin on it so far as I can tell. The recent x-com games have been brilliant so I can see this doing well. Stalker - The original games were great so with the financial backing of microsoft I can see this really doing well. A true competitor to Fallout and let's be honest it won't take them much to be less buggy! Final Fantasy XVI & VII Rebirth - I'm a huge fan of the series so these 2 are very high on my to buy list, I'm not really sure they need much of an introduction with how well known the series is.

  11. FG GTA Races is back for the first Friday in July. FG Fridays are a thing because of GTA, so lets tell everyone and get the game updated way ahead of Friday so we can go and play some Nascar, Sumo, Target, Bikes and whatever else we can find! Get your name down so we now to get your invites out on the night 👊

  12. Previous GTA race nights we've used the PS4 version.

  13. I can confirm this, especially with un-optimised games like 7DTD. However, the silver lining to this with the energy price crisis is that I can spend winter in the Man Cave with the PC on and the heating off! Simples! 🤣

  14. I picked it up ^_^ just wern't sure which version people on here play on (I think the free upgrade may have ended this month but not sure)

  15. I'd wait to see what the 4 series entails or when it will be available to buy...but if you see a cheap 3 series, go for it. The big change these days is the power draw, as top end GPUs and CPUs are very, very hungry.

  20. It gets worse Steam's most-wishlisted game admits to using some 'volunteer' workers | PC Gamer WWW.PCGAMER.COM Fntastic has come under fire for using unpaid labor to help develop The Day Before, one of the most anticipated games on Steam.

  21. I'll give crash 4 a go. I'm kind of surprised about it considering activision was touting how well it was selling. Guess the honeymoon is over. I don't really care about man of medan and I'd try out the last one at some point for giggles and shits.

Privatise the profit, nationalise the pain. It's that simple. As long as Rich people are skimming off the top, there will always be higher fares and worse conditions.

  24. I'm in no particular rush for a new game but here's what's on my wish list for 2022 and 2023: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It's been delayed further and I hope it's worth the wait. I still play a modded version of the originals on PC that blends them all into one game and map. As I say, I hope they get it right 🙂 Starfield I'm expecting a buggy Fallout in space so I don't get disappointed when that's what it turns out to be 🙂 Warhammer 40k Darktide I'll be keeping an eye on this as I have friends who only play Warhammer games, table top and PC. Baldur's Gate It's available now in early access but I'm waiting for the proper release, as it's £50 on Steam. Escape From Tarkov Not technically a new game as it's been in early access a while...but a new patch drops tomorrow and their most anticipated map drops later this year. Will also look out for Saints Row as previous titles were a lot of fun.

    Thoughts on emulation?

An element of it is just nostalgia as well, I have a much greater affinity with the games in my collection that I have had since I was little. I have Final Fantasy IX for example on a whole host of devices (I have probably bought it 5 or 6 times in addition to the original PS1 version) but I would happily sit there and connect up my PS1 and play through it on there over the other options every day of the week. Main reason my older consoles don't come out at the moment is because my daughter is a wrecking ball and would likely destroy them 😄

  27. Its gonna take a few months to at least work out how and what they are releasing on these plans. Playing games like when you could rent them from Blockbusters back in the day wasn't my style and so I doubt that will change moving forward either. With there being so few AAA games being released to how was once some years ago, usually the money saved on the top tier monthly subscription would be put towards the game you want next - and then you own that said game rather than renting it out. The devils advocate would be the games that constantly require online services because you could argue they aren't ever yours if they decide to switch servers off but it still feels too early to see what impact these subscriptions will have and also in comparison to the Xbox Game Pass.

  28. I know these are not set in stone but this would be where we could see some complaints from those who subscribe to the higher tiers of ps plus. How can you offer out a game for free on the base subscription that is within either of the upper tiers of the new subscription model? Man of medan is on the ps plus extra and premium, so giving it away for free (especially if they do this frequently) begins to undermine the value of the upper tiers doesn't it? I know there's an arguement that you don't know what game you will get with the base subscription etc but I think it's a discussion to be had.

  30. Yep, I can definitely agree and understand that view. In fact, I would say the Switch option with the available apps is the one that I would and definitely have a look at from time to time, due to the accessibility and portability of the handheld console. I still love playing Super Tennis on the actual SNES than that though, can't really explain why!! Just feels so good getting that cartridge out 🤣

  31. After feeling like not playing the game for over a year, the first night back on it was a resounding success. This clip was from the last game of the night, thinking we'd just run a smash and grab job and just see how far we'd get....didn't expect to finish the game with a boss kill, both bounties and a few player kills.   FG Hunters @Tadnothad  @Macca89  and @GazzaGarratt
