  1. Some classic highlights from 8-9 hours of frantic immense joy of winning Division 2 to catastrophic hysteria as FIFA Script sets in the very next day! Great goals and lolz in store. ย  Squad involved across both days: ย  @JamaicanSteve @Lurch @GazzaGarratt @LordBaguette @Luseth @jordie1892 @Findmartin @G_dub52 @Antpool84 @TonyAE86 ย

  2. What a few days of matches that was! An incredible Super Sunday which no one expected, as goals just flew in from anywhere and everywhere across the pitch. Gary Goals @LordBaguette could've sat on his phone all night with one hand and still scroed a bunch, just like his first one ๐Ÿ˜… A crazy and dominant spell of 5 wins in a row, adding to the opening win from the end of last Monday, meant that we had a chance to secure the Division 2 title with a game in-hand. Obviously, thats when a few draws came into play, even a last minute winner from new signing Matt @Luseth was ruled out which would've been a 5-4 win. Eventually the cup was sealed with a final win. MNF was then virtually a role reversal, which we could've seen coming since it was the first time since new-stats era that we had took this team into Division 1. Some batterings commenced and even when we didn't deserve to be losing by too many, the FIFA script set in quickly and made sure 4,5, 6 goals went against us. Even the AI were giving away not one, but two penalties in the same game. Whilst we persisted through it all, it just wasn't our night. Yep, still enjoyable and sometimes you have to put it down to just the luck wasn't with us. We used to have these nights on lots of games and we would always come back for more punishment next time round ๐Ÿ˜„ What was great to see was the persistence held through the night to stay on for one more game and grind out a result. The last game was our first back in DIvsion 2 and we convincingly won 2-1 to start the next season off on a good note. Overall stats below. A fantastic debut weekend for Matt @Luseth , scoring 10 goals in the process. A bunch of players nearing 200 apps and James @Lurch is 10 goals away from a century of goals for FGFC! .tg {border-collapse:collapse;border-spacing:0;} .tg td{border-color:black;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;font-family:Arial, sans-serif;font-size:14px; overflow:hidden;padding:10px 5px;word-break:normal;} .tg th{border-color:black;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;font-family:Arial, sans-serif;font-size:14px; font-weight:normal;overflow:hidden;padding:10px 5px;word-break:normal;} .tg .tg-4ki2{background-color:#fe0000;font-weight:bold;text-align:center;vertical-align:middle} .tg .tg-nrix{text-align:center;vertical-align:middle} .tg-sort-header::-moz-selection{background:0 0} .tg-sort-header::selection{background:0 0}.tg-sort-header{cursor:pointer} .tg-sort-header:after{content:'';float:right;margin-top:7px;border-width:0 5px 5px;border-style:solid; border-color:#404040 transparent;visibility:hidden} .tg-sort-header:hover:after{visibility:visible} .tg-sort-asc:after,.tg-sort-asc:hover:after,.tg-sort-desc:after{visibility:visible;opacity:.4} .tg-sort-desc:after{border-bottom:none;border-width:5px 5px 0}@media screen and (max-width: 767px) {.tg {width: auto !important;}.tg col {width: auto !important;}.tg-wrap {overflow-x: auto;-webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch;}} Names Apps Goals Assists Hat-tricks Clean Sheets PotM @Antpool84 128 29 11 2 2 0 @Ajay 36 6 3 0 4 1 @TheMuggySpud 0 0 0 0 0 0 @JamaicanSteve 151 94 44 1 0 6 @Dan94 0 0 0 0 0 0 @G_dub52 61 11 7 0 0 1 @Lurch 180 90 45 3 8 17 @jordie1892 161 73 65 0 9 14 @GazzaGarratt 204 31 58 0 7 2 @Macca89 170 63 106 1 2 5 @Findmartin 113 21 13 1 8 2 @tronic44 0 0 0 0 0 0 @Stretch616 0 0 0 0 0 0 @Tadnothad 0 0 0 0 0 0 @LordBaguette 176 58 42 0 1 3 @TonyAE86 104 14 10 0 2 2 @Luseth 15 10 3 0 0 3 The trophies are racking up quite nicely across the whole FGFC crew. 3. That was tough last night ๐Ÿ˜„ Not sure if part of it was just we all kept getting in each other's way and that as well. The last game (admittedly it was a division lower) was much better but I think we were down to 5 or 6 players? Nay mind, was enjoyable! I think someone mentioned that a few of you are playing modern warfare at the moment, I will have to wait till payday else my wife will kick me up the arse but I might look at getting it in a few weeks to give me something else to game with you lot on (might hit my targets on there better than I did last night ๐Ÿ˜„ )

Really enjoyed Sunday, it was a great achievement to reach Division 1. And we were doomed to fail on Monday, I just didn't expect to be beaten that badly in some of the games. Luck aside I think if we do want to compete in that division we need to look at positions.

  9. Not sure if you guy's ever played it, but Alpha Protocol to me was the best James Bond game (that wasn't a Bond game). If they made something like that I'd be quite happy ๐Ÿ™‚ Though what they could do with today's tech and funding could be something special ^_^ Similarly the splinter cell games seem to have died off / gone quiet in recent years.

  10. The version they are releasing was actually finished in 2008 and intended for Xbox Live Arcade but red tape with the IP holders stalled the entire thing for almost 15 years. It's been their loss for an eternity as people have by gagging for this for many years, even long before the original Perfect Dark appeared on the 360. It's such a shame the James Bond licence is so under-used in gaming - the owners are really missing out especially when there is a game ready to go right under their noses!

  12. I agree with the recommendations for God of War, it's an incredible game. It's one of the last PS4 games I've played a few years ago before I left the platform for the Switch and Series X. The valkyrie fights are intense; you will die a lot but the challenges are fair and are always rewarding. Loved platinum-ing the game so much.

  13. It's my first time finding out that the people behind this game aren't the same ones as the Arkham series of games โ€” I think I now know why you guys are apprehensive. I am now too hehe. But yeah, I'm optimistic too. Arkham Knight was pretty awesome but I hated that you needed to complete the game on hard to see the actual ending. Requiring the player to play the game again for the full story is bad enough for me, but having them play hard mode to see what an ending that's supposedly already served upfront is, I think, bad design. Don't get me wrong, if you enjoyed it, that's awesome โ€” no issues with that of course! Just that after that it felt like there's a big gaping hole for good DC games they need to fill up so they bring back the goodness of Arkham Asylum and City. Like all of you guys, I'm hoping it's this one. I have already pre-ordered it so there's no backing out. ๐Ÿคฃ

    Gotham Knights

So since there doesn't seem to be a new Batman game coming anytime soon i've been looking forward to Gotham Knights for a little while now, and from the look of the gameplay trailer it maintains the atmosphere and mechanics that I enjoyed so much in the Arkham games, and the fact that Red Hood, one of my favourite DC characters, is in the game helps massively lol. Although I am very surprised that they are only releasing it on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and have scrapped the PS4/XB1 versions, especially since there is the multiplayer element. But i guess thats going to be the way now for a lot of the new games going forward. Anyone else looking forward to this?

I played it recently ^_^ Still have a working N64 and whilst it's fun it obviously feel's very dated. I'm incredibly surprised it has not had a remake in this day and age, feels like a cash cow if ever there was one. Almost like a remake of Ocarina of time would be as well.

  25. I remember the old N64 version and it was iconic! One of my friends older brother had an N64 and Goldeneye and we played it a bunch. The 4 player splitscreen multiplayer was just groundbreaking at the time. Fond memories of that game, we had certain rules like Oddjob was banned for use because of how small and hard to hit he was an unfair disadvantage. We sometimes had silly rules like Archives map, throwing knifes and proximity mines only. Pistols only etc, just weird setups for a laugh.

  26. Yeah that's what I mean, quite sneaky. They are good tho. Quite often when people bake brownies there is definitely dark and maybe a mix of milk choc. Like I said I just steer away from the blocks of dark as you stated previously, just taste real bitter and meh. Can't imagine anyone's favourite sweet is a dark chocolate bounty. I hate the normal ones and dark makes it less desirable. ๐Ÿคข

I was going through older posts and I came across this. And thought, you know what, jumping was indeed a simple but major contribution to the game that made FromSoftware casuals like me have a fighting chance with the game. It really adds so much. This video should be proof (shamelessly sharing my Malenia boss fight clip here) POTENTIAL SPOILER though for people who do not want to see Malenia or some minor dialogue from her. It's such an awesome way to close the gap then follow it up with 2-3 hits. Plus if you're locked on to the enemy and the enemy is attacking, there's a tendency for the camera to spin, you're still locked on and you would most likely hit, but the enemy will miss since the camera/view has already spun. Anyway, I love this game a lot. It's my first proper Souls game and granted I am overleveled at this point (165 IIRC?) and I'm using an OP summon, I still enjoyed it immensely and thought it was a challenge ๐Ÿ˜„

  29. Saw The Accountant yesterday on Netflix after work. Rewatched it, more like. Really like it. I hate Ben Affleck for backing away from the Batman movie projects, I thought he was good in the role but outside of that he seems pretty good in these oddball roles. The last time I really admired his work was as far back as Good Will Hunting. Highly recommending The Accountant if you want something easy to watch (I mean, no Christopher Nolan mental feats like Interstellar or Tenet hehe), it's pretty enjoyable.

It does actually look pretty good. I agree with James, those older batman games have such a murky and dark atmosphere. Totally perfect for Gotham and the style it's trying to portray. Time will tell if it's a good attempt or a forgotten failure. The video makes it look decent tho.

    Gotham Knights

I've been craving a new game like this as I'm a huge fan of the Arkham games - they just ooze atmosphere and capture the Batman style perfectly. This one I am a bit iffy about because the developer has a pretty limited track record and wasn't the one behind the original Batman titles. This team did work on Origins and also did a Wii port for Arkham City but aside from that it's been mostly DLC and assisting other developers. They may be biting off more than they can chew with this and the publisher also doesn't have a good grasp of the gaming industry either. Will definitely keep my eye on it but anyone expecting something to the tune of Rocksteady's classics may be sorely disappointed.

  43. I've no idea what possessed me to watch a Michael Bay film, perhaps a bit of hope and a trailer that made it look pretty decent and it's got Jake Gyllenhaal in it. What I got in return was a set of action pieces which were clearly made beforehand and then the rest of the film scribbled around them to try and make it work. The camera tricks were absolutely fucking pathetic and seemed like more of a look-what-we-can-do thing than a let's-make-a-good-film thing, it had scenes in it which went beyond making no sense and full speed in to intelligence insulting territory, many of which were completely and utterly pointless and served zero purpose for the story, the characters or anything. There are little camera angles throughout the 30 minutes we lasted that were clearly trying to create drama but just fell flat on their arse, the characters may as well have been cardboard cutouts and whilst I appreciate a good car as much as the next guy, not every single character in the film needs to drive a GTR or a Mustang or a classic Bronco. I have to hand it to him, if he wanted to create quite possibly one of the worst films ever, he's achieved that with alarming success. It's so shit that even a 0/10 wouldn't do it justice. It actually irritated me, that's how stupid it must think its viewers are. On the other hand we watched Moonfall. On paper a ridiculous premise, in practice it was actually quite good, but ho-lee-fuck do they drag it out. The film could've been half the length and been great, but they dragged it on and on and on so that when we got to the they-all-live-happily-ever-after phase of the film, I just turned it off for fear of having to watch another 30 minutes of it. Such a shame as it had some serious potential early on. Still, it didn't treat us like idiots and that alone scores it a 6/10.

  45. Ahhh you're right, I forgot about Rare. This makes sense and it's probably what the license thing was about. Frankly, I'm very happy with this. I love the Switch don't get me wrong, but if a game I like is going to come out on a technologically better console, I would get it there. MS seems to be on a roll lately so I don't see this being forgotten just like that (I hope).
    1 point
  46. I believe Rare are fully owned by Microsoft and if my memory servers me correctly, this happened around when the first Xbox launched and shortly after the original Perfect Dark released. Although it's an iconic N64 title, I think it will be very difficult for Nintendo to persuade MS to release the remaster on the Switch even though they aren't in direct competition. It could also be more red tape with the complex and frustrating 007 licence but I'd say if this does finally materialise, it'll be Xbox only and maybe PC.

If you press R1 on the controller, you can also have the classic visuals which is a nice touch. Not sure what happened with the Alec Trevelyan character model (maybe a placeholder) but everything else looks pretty spot on and nicely crafted.
