FIFA Fantasy Nights - FIFA 22 FG Activity Updates
Antpool84 and 3 others reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
You played a blinder last night mate! As we said, its usually never like that 😅 but we'll definitely take it! We have a saying here 'If you're having fun, you've already won' 🤣...so basically, if you can do that with us then any night will be fine! Even if we took a nose dive down the leagues...gives us more to go and win!! 😄 I'll stick up the stats up after i've got the ones from tonight too. Can't believe we won Division 2 in such good fashion. Literally anything we touched went in last night! Hopefully the same will happen tonight but if not, we'll still have a laugh at how many FIFA scripts we've been up against 😎4 points -
Thanks for the matches last night, not sure I will be on today but will definately be on again with you lot 🙂 Results went our way which always makes clubs more enjoyable!4 points

What's your favourite type of chocolate?
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
So what's your favourite type of chocolate? Maybe share what bar or slab of chocolate you enjoy the most too. I've loved White chocolate since i was a kid but milk is a very close second. Dark is always just too bitter for me, even though I still would have some if offered. The Crunch Bar was probably the best alongside when Cadbury's did the Dream bar. Obviously Milkybars were nice too. Outside of White, it has to be a Double Decker. Not in the fridge though, you animals. I love the Nougat chewy chocolate with the biscuit inside. Let me know if you want me to add more options to the poll!2 points -

Thankfully Capcom always have a team working on mainline IP's. The likes of EA though are pulling and pushing staff in all directions away from new projects into remastering old titles for quick cash. I can't complain about Capcom as they always seem to deliver quality, never have delays or mislead. If they were just doing old games then I'd question their ambitions but for the last few years they've always given us something in each one.2 points -

I played a little Dark Souls and Bloodborne, they were alright. I could see why people liked them but they never clicked with me. I'm totally addicted to Elden Ring. It's one of the best games I've ever played TBH. The mechanics are miles ahead in my opinion. That's one of the reasons I didn't like the earlier games, they felt clunky to me. Elden Ring is smooth.2 points -

I totally agree. I main as an 80 STR two handed Tarnished and jumping heavy has always been my business, from mobs to bosses. Pair that with the claw talisman then buff it up with a War Cry and it's a pretty solid tactic through and through. And high again Forever Gaming peeps! I'm sorry it's been a while XD So much has happened from just wanting this game to actually playing it. I'm now 100 hours in haha. Anyone had trouble with the paintings? Just killed malenia and so got the platinum. Overall my third favourite game of all time. The malenia grind was on the one hand fun but on the other hand long. 11 hours long. Mastering the moves was a lot of fun and seeing consistency improve was great. Plus a lot of satisfaction in the kill.2 points

radagon is an phenomenal fight in my opinion but From seemed to want to mirror bloodbornes ending with the whole "killing the puppet before puppetmaster" with gehrman and moon presence which I can respect ....if the fucking fish would stay still but it'd definitely an aesthetic fight I would of definitely loved it if radagon switched to marika and uses sorceries and more ranged attacks as opposed to radagons incantations and heads on approach2 points
-
Okay so I just beat the game. From my last comment on this I have killed maliketh, Godfrey and the final fight. Maliketh and Godfrey were both amazing intense fights some of my favourites in the game. The ending was a bit meh. It was difficult but just felt a bit tedious and sometimes dumb. After a couple hours on it I learned dualweilding actually had a use so added a curved great sword to my left hand. That made the fight a lot more fun but that could just be to the novelty of it. I think the final fight had a lot of potential and I think they probably should have split the phases and give each boss there own proper second phase and made them more difficult. I then think radagon would be a really cool fight and the Elden beast could be better and less annoying due to a quicker respawn time. Overall one of my favourite games of all time (probably 3rd). All I need for the platinum is malenia but that could take a long while from what I’ve heard. I’m going to do a second play-through at some point where I go for a strength faith build as opposed to dex strength (well I pretty much only used bloodhound fang for the whole playthrough) as some of the faith melee weapons look really cool. Also want to see if the early game is any easier now. matter that I want to go and play the earlier games. Probably starting with ds3 and bb.2 points

I will say though I gave a personal headcanon that the lord of frenzy ending will lead to the age of dragons in dark souls 1 and the age of stars leading to bloodborne but who knows From really like ambiguity in there story yea there's a lot to explore in the game had to go hunt a few fuckers down in places I didn't even know existed2 points

Yeah... I would probably give the poster a pass too. But steel case or art book, count me in though £200 is pretty heavy! I'm always a sucker for art books included in special editions. Wish we had these editions, at the very least, the one you first showed. I'm hoping for a pleasant surprise that my pre-order has at least those art cards but whatever happens, I'm happy just to get the physical. Just 2 weeks more!!!2 points -

I think it's just the posted folded up sadly! Bit misleading but doesn't really matter too much. No steel case either it seems - just a card sleeve that goes over the standard box and the other extras. Not a bad package at all really. The collectors edition does have the steel case though but that's around the £200 mark. Art book looks great!2 points -
I fucking love white chocolate, although I maybe have it twice a year. Apart from that I’ll only eat dark chocolate as I’m not a fan of milk…yeah explain that 😄2 points

What's your favourite type of chocolate?
IRaMPaGe and one other reacted to phil bottle for a topic
I'd say that 70% is my sweet spot, no apologies for the pun. Milk chocolate is cheaper to produce and the more milk the less I like, though I'm ok with all chocolate except when you start adding nuts and fruit to it. Heresy.2 points -
So, imagine my surprise while I'm in the kitchen, prepping to make a batch of blondies, annoyed that I am out of chocolate chips that are over 70% and have to settle for 55% because I don't feel like hand chopping the 80% chocolate blocks, and I see this topic pop up in my notifications (initially, I wondered if it was spam...) Since I'm waiting for my browned butter to cool before I make the blondies, I thought I would pop upstairs and form one of my sort-of-coherent posts. So, we want to talk about chocolate, eh? Just the general percent stuff and not the disgusting mass-produced stuff, right? (Although, I will admit, the only mass-produced chocolate I like is Lindt because they somehow kept their flavor, texture, and quality after being merged with Ghirardelli and the trash that is Russell Stovers) Let's get something straight (and I say this in the most friendly and not food snobby way possible), @GazzaGarratt and @Spacedeck ... White chocolate is not chocolate. It is the absence of chocolate. It is sugar, cocoa butter (which is a by-product from making all sort of other chocolate and cocoa things), milk stuff, and vanilla flavoring. You're basically saying you like vanilla lol. Which is something entirely different. And, if I were to make a vanilla ganache or vanilla anything else that involves something creamy, I would be reaching for "white chocolate". Percent-wise, I prefer anything between 70% and 85%. Below that is too sweet to just snack on. 55% is probably the lowest I would go and that would be used in different applications that require the sweetness to balance out whatever else I just put it in. Over 85% gets a bit too bitter and probably should be diluted in something/mixed into something else. For example, hot chocolate where you can add sugar accordingly. Chocolate, itself, has an interesting history in that the way that we generally know it now as a sweet... was not always the case. It was a spice. And various cultures use it as such like Mexico in their mole sauce. Chocolate being sweet was a result of Europeans taking the cacao back home and going "let's add some milk and sugar to it".. then chocolate as we know it was born. It's why Swiss and German chocolates are a thing, yet they don't have the climates to grow cacao. Now, if we want to get into the food snobberiness that I come very very close to, there's even single origin chocolates. And, I can tell you now that I love chocolate too much to actually write down which single-origin chocolates I like over the others. They all have different flavor notes. Some more fruity. Some more bitter. Some that have a tannin-like feel in the mouth. It really just depends on what I have bought and have on hand at the moment to enjoy, that I enjoy. As for what chocolate you will see me buying... it's going to be from an eco-friendly, fair trade company. Right now, I mostly buy Endangered Species chocolates because of what they do with their profits. I recognize that my love for chocolate and coffee can have a negative effect on the environment, and it fuels my anger towards the big producers, like Hershey's and Mars, because they produce shitty tasting chocolate and are destroying the world as they do it. Bottom-line. I like dark. And, I like it over 70% lol. And, it better be actually good quality. 😄2 points
-
If I was getting a bar of chocolate to share, it would be milk. For myself it would be white, I can't stand dark chocolate. I think it started when I was younger and loved white magnums, ever since then it's always been white chocolate. Not that I eat chocolate very often anymore, unless it's on top of a biscuit.2 points

Managed to get to the cinema the weekend for the first time since having children ^_^ So a few years, and got to see Top Gun 🙂 It's a brilliant film and I would argue as good (maybe better) than the original, a little less romance and a bit more flying of planes, added tense moments to them and some of the action scenes were brilliant 🙂 Would definately recommend watching at the cinema rather than at home as well, it really need's a good sound system and big screen I think 🙂1 point -

Season 17 - Season of FINALLY MORE VAULT SPACE!!!
Riff Machine reacted to GazzaGarratt for a topic
Yeah totally agree with the Crucible element. It was the one area that whilst we waited for more content or wanted to just chill on the game, it would always be in the Crucible. I don't have the same pull either. However, I'm lucky as I love Gambit which I think weirdly now has more legs than Crucible does. I really want to get into the Iron Banner seal but I think they missed a trick by making Rift and Control as two options rather than force you to play Rift. We have this week (Week 2) and apparently Week 8 to only play Iron Banner through the 12 week season. Part of me feels like we'll get a communication that Iron Banner will come back in Week 11 or something because it needs that extra week of updates to make it worthwhile imo.1 point -

Yeah, I think my first play through was about 105 hours, went for the age of stars ending. I just need two more endings to complete platinum. I didn’t back up my save so I’ll probably beat it on new game plus then start a fresh play for the last ending.1 point

One of my most anticipated games in recent years but also one that I am very disappointed in. It does many things well but it is significantly mechanically worse than Bloodborne and Sekiro and almost as broken as Dark Souls 2. 60% of the open world is just barren and there are several copy and pasted places which is a shame. I didn't like the chalice dungeons in Bloodborne and this has many catacomb-areas that are all the same to pad out content. There's is also too much boss bloat so this aspect really loses its uniqueness and the main bosses are really poorly designed despite looking spectacular- their hitboxes are broken, scripted poise based on health over dynamic combat chains and their attacks have insane spread/reach which can be very hard to determine. Even forwarding attacks they miss can hurt you when behind and sometimes they go into animation mode which means they cannot be hit. They also have seemingly infinite stamina. It's definitely a beautiful title at times and if you're new to this type of game/series or enjoy open world ones then such issues may not be brutally apparent but for myself and a few others, there's definitely some design choices and fundamental flaws here. I would have preferred a more linear-based title that had near frame-perfect combat like From Soft have done previous but to me it feels like an unbalanced sandbox with many old issues returning. I will look to trade it in for Gran Turismo 7 next week.1 point -

I only clocked a couple of hours yesterday due to being very busy this weekend but I've had a brief roam around the South West of the opening area and it's so good! The great thing is you don't know the enemies and their movesets or abilities so you have to be very cautious. I nearly shit myself when I saw one and then managed to destroy him with a torch in one hit🤣 Gonna have a track at the Tree Sentinel later - been stealthing around him for the time being getting my bearings but this chap is the first big test.1 point -

I played a good bit today and got passed the first major boss, he was kinda of a cunt, make sure you level up and upgrade your weapon before fighting him. Fighting him early will probably be frustrating unless your a souls god. Definitely a skill check. Having played a ton of hours worth of souls it’s a little weird being open world and just going wherever, but I’m getting used to it. Changing the action/interact button after so many years is making me jump at random instead of picking shit up. Lol Overall I’m enjoying it immensely, and time freaking flys playing it. wonder if we should make a new thread for tips, q&a’s maybe? Since this isn’t a straightforward experience. Good luck skeletons1 point -

Demon Souls was my first PS5 game and it is technically impressive although the combat lacks punch and I didn't like the gold/green hue that it sometimes used outside of the brick grey. Definitely worth trying though as it's a spectacularly smooth experience compared to other Souls games. I gave up waiting for a Bloodborne upgrade and just played it on my PS5 and although the framerate is nasty, it wasn't quite as dippy as playing it on PS4. Those minute sub-30 drops gave me some nauseating headaches but in the 25 hours I played it on PS5, it seemed marginally more bearable. Elden Ring is definitely a spiritual successor to Dark Souls 3 with some nice DS2 mechanics coming back plus with the game going for a BOTW landscape approach, it could work out really well. I was a bit iffy about it being open world as opposed to something semi-linear but it looks like they've done it just right.1 point -
