So errm hi! I am sort of looking for a new place to call home so to speak, the forum I typically visit has become far too political and all I really want to do is talk games 😄 So yeah, I have young children which limits my gaming time but I'm a big fan of JRPG's, from the UK, I play a fair amount of battlefield with friends when I can (We won't mention 2042) and I have access to almost every console I could ever want (though my collection for each tends to be small and limited!) So yeah hopefully I will get chatting to you all soon, hi 🙂

Welcome to forever gaming Luseth. It's a great community here and we play a mixture of everything from consoles to PC. I'm sure you will fit in here, there is plenty of nights we will arrange to play something like Destiny, Fifa, Cod, Gran Turismo and many more. Myself I mostly play Cod on PS4, I have a young child and know what it's like to have limited play time. Where abouts are you from? We have UK,Europe,America,Scadanavia, Australia, New Zealand and all over the globe.

You can borrow my whippet. North of Leeds is into nice dales territory. I have friends that way, and as you say, the purchasing power is nuts compared to london. Plus regular trips to arcade club leeds and me an hour away, it's win win win.

Like Kenny says above, welcome to FG @Luseth ! We used to have those 'Speakers Corner' sections years ago but I think this place is way more about keeping that family feel around the place and having good banter with all FGers now 😄 Doesn't mean you have to agree with everyone though for sure! Definitely lots of shooter/FPS people here which hopefully be nice for you to jump in with. Hopefully they'll be some games we crossover on at some point. Lots of events pop up across the board so make sure you keep an eye out for them. What consoles do you usually play on? Play on PC too? As someone who has been a big fan of the series for years there has been a noticeable change in direction, the last game BFV was a slight shift towards that end goal and I think fans started to move away at that point knowing what was to come. BF2042 is a complete and utter disaster that I think they may struggle to recover from, I appreciate they are trying to find the right model going forwards however there were glaring omissions from the original launch that took a lot of what battlefield was away, couple that with badly designed maps that were possibly way too big and there's no one who has stuck around to play it. I jumped on briefly the other night (PS) and the gun play is actually quite good I feel but everything else just let's it down. It's such a far cry from BF1 (which was incredibly atmospheric) and even BFV has had it's really good moments.

I will also add that it's compulsory to own at least one flat cap if you live in Yorkshire. Plus we don't greet people with "alright, darling" as use "hiya love". We also tend to not like Southerners up here so I'm unsure how people will react to a South African 🤷‍♂️

Hi @IRaMPaGe & @GazzaGarratt thanks for the welcome 🙂 I mostly play PS5 but do have a Switch, laptop and Series S as well (played in that order of preference). My 3ds is getting a lot of love at the moment though and I have a couple of DS games turning up for it this week 🙂 Will be my go to gadget when I go on holiday in a months time. From the UK, West Midlands and in case anyone wants to add me my name on almost everything is the username I have on here - Luseth.

North Leeds and North West Leeds are nice areas. I live in a town just outside Leeds called Otley. It's nice. Plenty of towns around here that are nice as well - Guiseley, Horsforth. Areas like Chapple Allerton are nice as well. Just depends if you wanna live near the city centre or more out of town and commute in. Let me know of areas you're looking at and I'll tell you if you should consider them or avoid.

Destiny has many reasons for me stopping playing it, the blatant cash grabs, the incessant content recycling, the bullshit metas, the fact they killed PVP, etc. None of these are reason enough for me to quit, but when added together it just ruins the game for me. That being said, when the game lies to my face about not having enough console players abd forcing me to be cannon fodder to pc players, it's shooting itself in the head. It actually irritates me no end, there are two possible outcomes here: one is that there genuinely aren't enough console players, which is a problem that very coincidentally came in to existence a week or so after cross play was enabled, or they're forcing us to play with the PC crowd because it's another income stream for them. Destiny has always been one of those games which lives permanently on the line of how-far-can-we-push-before-they-fuck-us-off, but the crossplay thing was the nail in the coffin for me. Don't lie to your customers, they'd have a lot more respect if they just said "look, we want that sweet sweet dolla from the PC players but it's not really taking off that well because on PC, Destiny is a substandard game. So we're gonna add in 10 min waiting times when playing on console, these can be skipped by turning on cross play. Oh and the new DLC is £60 pls, and have you seen the latest stuff for sale for silver?".

I'm definitely up for trips to Arcade Club. I've only been to the Leeds one once.

This is one of its biggest fails for me, the grind for some basic stuff is incredibly dumb and with weapon crafting it's been turned upto the max. You grind for red border weapons with an insane low drop rate then you need fucking 5. One catalyst requires 50 min completions of mid tier difficulty stuff 😂 @Diddumsalso hit the nail on the head regarding crucible, I used to love spending hours just chilling in crucible now it's bounties and done simply because I've had enough by then of all the cheesy bulllshit, every update seems to make it worse too.

They're just a massive scam. If you buy one then you deserve to be scammed IMO. The bloke who paid $2million(or something ridiculous like that) for the first ever tweet tried to sell it on and only got a few grand back. Hahahaaa! Fucking idiot 🤣

I would agree this and wanted it gone for a few years now. I think they are the closest to getting rid of it as now power only goes up 10 per season. I think the challenge is so many people's habits on this game (new and old) are pushed towards "I need to find the big number things!", so they just do the Pinnacle activities to get that stuff. An RPG that does damage numbers kind of needs the idea of a Power number to show how you can get a little more damage out of things and more reasons to chase loot, although I would much prefer the game move towards some form of weekly/monthly completion objectives that give you rewards of different loot to obtain that does funky cool stuff. Its been a lighter start for this season in Week 1 for sure. The Dungeon is definitely the pinnacle of the entire season so that coming out on Friday really helped. Challenge now is that if thats out on Friday, what else will come each week? The Iron Banner having a Seal is definitely something to try and help flush out the content abit more and I will look to play it this week because of it. I expect to see more Quests and potential new activities coming out through the woodwork. The Destiny cycle is one that in itself is cyclical. We're into Year 7 of Destiny and I think following up this latest DLC is a real hard job as you come off a fantastic campaign into smaller activities that can feel meaningless if you're not a person that sets objectives up to chase. I also think its not just Destiny. Many games are feeling the same way lately. I think we're in the middle of a bit of a dry spell that we're all looking for a game that helps us not think too much and tells us what to do. I think for this reason alone, I do wish Destiny had a toggle option to help the player tell them what to try/do next.

i am in the same boat as well, the game has grind for the sake of grinding and it's all repetitive, sadly i bought the deluxe edition which means i will play all the seasons i paid for but afterwards, i don't know, maybe i will just buy the expansions or just uninstall the game i started ds1 waiting for the new season and that game is miles better than destiny yes destiny has fast and fluid combat with nice combos etc but that alone can't carry the game

I'm a big fan of the series 🙂 The more recent games are certainly much more friendly in that they are easier to get into so you are probably at the right point to jump in. Essentially you have a little army and you move each piece / unit at a time and attack other units. Think chess in rudimentary terms or final fantasy tactics for something else relatable. Three houses on the switch is certainly one of their best (though here the price never dropped from release) or I would highly recommend fire emblem awakening on the 3ds as well 🙂

I think a lot of people left for similar reasons @Diddums I'd much rather be able to get all the story stuff out of the way instead of this drip feed method of these dumb ass seasons. This latest season has been a disappointment IMO. Solar 3.0 sucks for 2/3 classes and i'm getting sick of power grinds. The powerful/pinnacle shit needs to go. Honestly, I'm glad I started getting lost in Elden Ring. I've been losing my enjoyment with Destiny for a while now thanks in part to the dumb changes, nerfs, power grind, and lack of respect for the players that contributed to get this game as popular as it is.

Episode 13 is up on Youtube. The past 3 sessions have been really fun for the party at the table. I hope it translates well for the viewers. The party searches for the helm of Torms Sight in the hopes that it will free Elturel from the grips of Avernus.

Leeds.

Leeds is full of cunts, so you'll fit right in. But seriously, it's definitely a good thing to consider when you see the cost of living is much cheaper outside London. So long as the work prospects are good you're laughing. I have a few mates from Gary's county, Leeds and Barnsley in particular, good down to earth people, who like a drink 😁

I think i'm ready for a new season. Its been nice to go and find other games over the past month that meant I only played Destiny once or twice a week and thats a better balance when it comes into month 3 of a season. I'm also liking we haven't got much info for the new season too so we all learn when it goes live tomorrow. The mystery in the game was at its peak before dataminers got the code via PC imo. A new Dungeon is definitely coming and in the first week which is as much as we know so far. I'm hoping the Raids and Dungeons rotation will be good enough to hook people into both. I for one need to spend more time in Dungeons. The vault space i'm actually not too concerned about as theres so many weapons to use yet in reality we all use between 20-40 guns when we get into our sweet spot, I want to get to a stage where i'm not keeping guns just incase they may become great in a later patch.
