With the self catering holidays allowed now, it was nice to find a break at relatively short notice this weekend just gone. 5 minutes just inside Wales, keeping our distance from pretty much everyone still (with the exception of the Sheep 😄) it was nice to just see a different 4 walls, even if I still had to work on the Thursday and Friday - I suppose forcing Working From Home does have its perks from time to time. Hope everyone is starting to get a little feelings of normality back each weekend that passes by.

  3. European Super League: Uefa and Premier League condemn 12 major clubs signing up to breakaway plans - BBC Sport WWW.BBC.CO.UK Uefa and the Premier League have strongly condemned 12 major European clubs, including the 'big six' from England, signing up to a breakaway European Super League. If I was the FA - I would de-licence them from Association Football and kick them out of the league - Expunge domestic results this season - Block any players from being able to compete internationally who play for these teams UEFA should also move to make any third party competitions unrecongised meaning they are on the same level as a Sunday kickabout in the park and less valuable than the Audi Cup or some shitty pre-season tournament the Middle East. De-licence all teams meaning they cannot represent the sport legally.

  6. I've been a One Hotspur member since it started in 2007 and it's due for renewal next month. That's being cancelled for a start. I still have St Pauli as my European team to keep me going, even if they are perennially shit 😅 But yeah I'm looking at Spurs and the billionaire guy who owns them who never spends a penny on the team. Spurs are a revenue stream for ENIC and trying to get in on this is pretty desperate if you ask me. I hated the introduction of the Champions League and saw that as a step towards what is being proposed now. The European Cup was for the champions of each domestic league and CL was about money. They devalued the competition back then as far as I'm concerned. Its always about money and what's happening now is going to happen, it always was. Capitalism strikes again🤑

  7. They seem clear on the stance from this - Statement by UEFA, the English Football Association, the Premier League, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), LaLiga, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Lega Serie A | Inside UEFA | UEFA.com WWW.UEFA.COM Europe's football website, UEFA.com, is the official site of UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations, and the governing body of... Goes without saying I'm strongly against this, and embarrassed by Liverpools involvement. Hopefully soon we can start to hear from the players/managers on their thoughts...

  8. I looked at this and first and only thoughts of this are that it's a Powerplay made by the big clubs in Europe to UEFA to sort out the Champions League competition and ensure a better way to create funds for these clubs. Whilst I still think it won't happen, I must admit the strong stance in how it is worded is that its very much more than I first anticipated, it feels very real when I woke up this morning. We'll still sit tight though because we all shouldn't be naive to think that they knew the backlash would be huge. I agree that the Champions League needs amending - however, my changes wouldn't give them more money as i'd have less teams in it. Its called the Champions League for a reason and no team, regardless of their history, has the divine right to just be given spots in any competition.

  9. It's been an absolute madness the past 24 hours. I do feel quite sad really. Football that I grew up with has changed considerably and even if this doesn't go ahead, the ramifications will be massive. Those Champions League games that go down as classics are only that special because of their rarity. And the fact that any club can make a run in Europe given some luck adds to the allure of the current system. Think of Boro back in the 2000s, Fulham in 2010, Portsmouth hosting AC Milan at Fratton Park, Southampton, Birmingham and Wigan all having European tours. Brilliant, unexpected moments that fans of those clubs will treasure, but no, the directors and board members of these "Founding Clubs" have said let's just prevent anyone from entering OUR league on merit and suckle on the money teat together. Embarrassing.

  10. Hard to believe a week ago, nobody aside from PSG fans wanted them to win the CL and everyone is hoping they will! UEFA have to stand firm and take the strongest possible action European Super League row: Prince William 'shares concerns' over Super League - as next week's Champions League semi-finalists face expulsion NEWS.SKY.COM UEFA executive committee member Jesper Moller said: "The clubs must go, and I expect that to happen on Friday." If the three are expelled and Arsenal along with United and booted out the Europa, I can see managers like Tuchel and Klopp walking. Some players will certainly hand in transfer requests.

  11. The year ends in a 1 so that means Spurs are nailed on winners...I believe that's right, isn't it lads?

  12. Seriously this is a total disgrace, driven by TV money and greed. The fans can stop it, cancel Sky and don't turn up. Kill the atmosphere at grounds, kill the TV spectacle, make the clubs pariahs. But after a week of anger people will just accept it and that's exactly what these clubs are banking on.

  13. Clever fucker, word is he refused to train the squad this morning over the super league. He knew his days were up but now he can claim so honour in it 😅

  14. Not 100% behind this view but I won't be surprised when UEFA unveil their plans for some/all of the big 6 to say that's what we wanted and back out of this idea. The UEFA Cup needs to be an important trophy again, so money needs to be thrown at that imo. No relegation from CL to 'Europa League'. I'd just take a standard knockout tourney again. The premise of being in Europe needs to be you're repreenting your Country on the European stage. Money gets in the way of every morale thought process now, its really disappointing.

  15. Another statement is due today and this one should hold an absolute stance. UEFA are also releasing their new CL format plans tonight. They sound just as bad as the super league and we’re only created to go against it and appease all these clubs. I hope uefa and the local bodies all take a firm stance right off the bat with no negotiation room.

  17. Just awaiting UEFA's statement - I can honestly seem them either buckling or worse, buying into the concept and becoming the governing body. Clearly all these teams have been colluding for years with each other and now you can see why Spurs and Arsenal got fuck all investment on the pitch in recent years - all the money went towards the stadiums and global exposure. These foreign owners have killed the game with money and a move like this will severely damage the spirit of it. Everyone involved should be given 3 days to withdraw or be expelled from their current European campaigns (Man City, Arsenal, United and Chelsea) and penalised domestically. I have followed Spurs for over 20 years and even I can admit they are too shit for this level with no success whatsoever. AC Milan and Inter are about as good as Crystal Palace and Leeds these days and Arsenal are a twice failed Europa League side. Athletico are the real bitches of Real and them and Barca are only in it to clear their debts amassed by bad business for years. Never thought I'd say this but fair play to PSG😅

  22. There's not too much out this year and many big names have been delayed until next year but there's still a few that are worth checking out. I'm planning on getting soon:- Total War Rome Remastered [PC] Resident Evil Village [PS5) Deathloop [PS5] Summer looks a bit barren and many release dates are still yet to be confirmed with just prospective a 2021 set but Final Fantasty 7 Integrade [PS5] may keep me going for a bit and I didn't bother picking up the original remake. The second half and towards the end of the year there is:- God of War Regnarok [PS5] Far Cry 6 [PC] Diablo 2 Resurrected [PC] Battlefield 6 [PC] PES 2022 [PS5] There's still plenty of others to consider like Horizon Forbidden West and iffy releases such as Halo Infinite but there's probably just enough to keep me going without savaging the wallet too much. Definitely no Call of Duty for me this year so I'll be able to put my money for that towards a more deserving title.

  23. Thanks for all the responses guys! @GazzaGarratt My partner has a PS4, but I'm predominantly on the Xbox or PC. Although having a scout through and seeing some of you guys enjoy GT Sport, I could be tempted to get that as I was a big fan of the old Gran Turismo games. @Baabcat I do believe we played a few times back in the day, Boro fan (or at least from up that way)? I play quite a variety of games still, quite FPS or sport/racing orientated generally. @IRaMPaGe I remember your name too, I was on the PS3 back then so I don't believe we ever crossed paths gaming-wise, but yeah good to see old faces still kicking it here. @ChaosGladiator Haha, yeah it's been a long while. Crazy to think it's almost 11 years since I started with guys from the forum, we'd be on every day back in those times. Like I said, mainly on Xbox now, with a bit of PC gaming, mainly CS:GO. Not played a CoD for about 6 years now! @Plumbers Crack A lot of FIFA, some Rocket League here and there, and I'm quite into my racing games too right now. Generally I can be persuaded to try anything out though and god knows I have a backlog of games waiting for me on my console!

  24. Levy didn't want him to win the cup to give him any more fuel to say he's made Spurs a better team. I mean, technically they are 4th if you add up all their points since Mourniho started versus all the other teams. Just key people missing at the worng time and not given the freedom to sort out that absolute pap defence. One centreback, oh, I dunno...someone like Vertonghen they had 🤦‍♂️, would've took them on to at least win some trophies. Thats what they wanted didn't they?

  27. It’s ok when you’re playing with friends. But I didn’t have a good time with it at all. Feels old, unbalanced as hell, gameplay is clunky (though probably better on PC with M/K) and it does nothing revolutionary that hasn’t been done before. I seriously don’t understand why some sites are giving it the reviews it’s been getting. But when I see ads for the game on said sites, it all makes sense. I finished the campaign and deleted it. Doubt I’ll return.

  28. I think its just Battlefield 6 if i'm honest. Not really seeing many new games out there and probably a good thing as the current games we're playing atm really have some legs left in them. I'm still looking out for a top game still on the PS5 that I can really sink my teeth into - with Gran Turismo 7 delayed until 2022 and not much else, it feels like we'll have to wait way longer.

  32. Don't forget UEFA are introducing the Conference League next season too which will further devalue their competitions outside of the Champions League. I really miss the UEFA Cup days - even when they had the Cup Winners Cup on the side, it was a great competition and every team had and deserved their place in Europe. Nowadays you can get in by finishing 53rd. They really need to bring back the Anglo Italian Cup😂

    F1 2021

What a race Imola was! Right decision to bring the track back over a year ago and the race was certainly one to not miss! Hamilton showed he was human by making a mistake that ultimately cost him the win as he would've caught Verstappen imo. Max run a strong race and that start was something to stand up and applaud, although I was expecting Perez to outshine him, especially in the rain! Somehow he just wasn't on form and really suffered badly as the race went on. Bottas struggled hard and thats why I probably have some admiration for Hamilton in that race as he clearly showed people how to drive that car as he made his way back through the pack. The Bottas/Russell incident was a tough one to call - overall I think it was a racing incident but if you had to blame someone unfortunately it was Russell - albeit, Bottas did make a slight movement. Russell reacted to the twitch a little more than we would all have expected and thats when he touched the grass. Glad both were okay. The star was clearly Lando. With the Ferrari's struggling to keep it on the track, his teammate left in the dust behind him, he was immense and getting round the track and also for a moment after the restart he looked quicker than Verstappen! Top effort and personally I was delighted to see McLaren back where they belong. Finally, it wouldn't be an F1 race without good ol' Mazespin doing what he does best! 🤣

  34. Played through the second demo last night which was about 25 minutes long. The mechanics seemed fine but the combat is still clunky and cumbersome. It was a bit linear and on-rails but the area was certainly much bigger and deeper than what was available to play. Still not convinced by the protagonist but the visuals do look fantastic. Didn't feel the RE4 vibes like I thought I would though. Castle demo next week..

Actually noticed we dont have a single Harbinger in the clan, that is something we could work together at - as the nightmare hunts time trials would be a good little thing to work through. Would still need to solo Pit, but there's plenty of guides for that.

  42. (this will be the last thread I poke at/sort of see about reviving for the day) This would be a good thread for @TurboR56Mini to also post in when we do our walks and eventual hikes. As for me? What did I do today? Let's see... I skipped the gym due to not sleeping well and being sore from MMA. Out of odd curiosity... I'm going to start tracking the forming of a bruise on my shin from my heavy bag kicking work from yesterday. Because... this thread asks for photos?

  43. I wonder if they'll start selling models without the second slot being nerfed. By the time I get one it might be called the 2 TB PS5 Pro😅

  44. Probably because they possibly have an official drive in the works or they are cutting a deal with an existing manufacturer. Doesn't look like they wanted users to rush out and buy any 3rd party crap from day one. Both Microsoft and Sony have fucked gamers over though - 1tb is a shockingly low amount especially when there is less than 70% that is usable. Warzone takes up 1/3 of the console right off the bat. The only reason I know my storage is fine is cos I have jack shit installed on it!

  46. The gaming industry has been barren compared to what I grew up with, but there are a few things I'm interested in: April Nier Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 (I'll finish my last 3 playthroughs of Nier Automata for all the endings before I start this) May Mass Effect Legendary Edition (this is a cash grab... I don't care. I wasn't in the group that played the trilogy when it first came out, so I experienced it after the fixes... Garrus/Shepard will forever break my heart in the way that FFVI did) June Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (I mean.. Yuffie... duh) Legend of Mana (I missed this the first time... my Switch gives me a reason to pick it up now) August Humankind - FFS... this was pushed out to August? But, I can't wait to sink hours and weeks into this. I'm still looking for the actual release date on Horizon Forbidden West. Because that's what I really want... along with Humankind.

  47. Not a lot really but if STALKER 2 is released and is decent then I'll look at that. There are a few interesting Warhammer universe games due out and I'll be watching if any of them come good. I'll have a think in case anything else comes to mind.

  48. 4/19/2021 Workout Rowing Class Thoughts: Again... I hate anything that resembles a spin class. But, here I am.. in a rowing class... because I know my cardio is trash, and there's no way you are going to get me to keep my heart rate elevated for longer than 15 minutes without some sort of push. Shame and guilt in a class that counts a total "team's" pace and distance? Yeah.. that will do it. Especially when you realize your team's split time significantly drops when you flat out stop lol. Also, did you ever experience delayed onset muscle soreness from the day before's workout really start to settle in while you're in the middle of a cardio session? I did. Did you know that could happen?? My goodness, it sucks getting old. Sometimes, I wonder what it's like being a spin-type instructor. Like, how much coffee did you drink before class to be that amped for 45-ish minutes? Also, who thinks starting a 45-minute rowing class with a 90-second sprint is a good idea??? FFS. Total rowing meters (for me): 8,523m (FML)
