Hi guys, I'm Chloe. I'm new to forums and the gaming world... My son has actually introduced me to gaming. I was always curious as to how someone can spend hours staring at a screen... Anyways, he's trying to push for faster broadband and I'm looking for options and trying to expand my general gaming knowledge

Hi Chloe, welcome to the forums. As Phil says, you don’t need super fast broadband to play games. Around 3mb and a consistent decent ping will do you fine. Although you’ll want more for downloading etc It’s hard to know what your ping will be like and whether it’ll bounce up and down. If you have any internet packages in mind that you were looking at, then drop them in here and we’ll be happy to look over them. Although make sure any personal info is blanked out or not there. You can also test your current speeds at http://www.speedtest.net/ , make a note of the download, upload and ping. I’d do this 3 or 4 times so we can get an average and see if your ping is bouncing about. Good to hear you’re getting in games, what platform do you play on and what games do you play? We have a pretty wide variety of people on this forum, young to experienced 🙂 Hope you enjoy your stay.

At the end of the day - and as everybody knows - COD needs a massive overhaul and some serious investment. They need to bin it off for a few years, buy an actual new game engine, sort their studios out and the release a proper new COD on the next generation of consoles. But we all know they'll just continue to milk the franchise like they have been doing for years.

WE FINALLY HAVE A MENDING VILLAGER!!!! I traded quite a bit with the mending villager to get enough mending books for me so there are a few spare in the chest underneath him. The prices is 30 something (I think 32 emeralds) which isn't great as it can be as cheap as 10 or 12 I think but I'll take an expensive mending villager over no mending villager. I think we have trades now for all the important enchants at the best or one below the top level so a bit of book combining should see all enchants at the max levels. I've been working on a bigger XP farm than the skeleton spawner, I was going to go with a doughnut pigmen farm but they apparently don't work on realms so going for a guardian f arm. Thankfully all the villager trading netted me quite a lot of glass and I built a super smelter The main box is up though there is still alot of to do on it though hopefully it won't be too long until it is up and running. I've also started building ice paths in the nether hub so we can get around quicker, just place a boat on the ice and off you go I've built an ice tray so will take quite a lot more mining of ice yet but thankfully with mending now we don't need to worry about having to re-make all our tools Edit: Farm is working - If you go in to the nether and follow the East tunnel you should come to another nether portal which takes you to the farm. None of the chests are currently hooked up so if you want any of the drops then these are collected manunally for now. To XP, flick the lever to XP mode, walk through the fence gate making sure to close it behind you and wait a little bit until enough Guardians are there and kill them all! It is best to have sweeping edge on your sword so you can kill them all in a few hits. A couple things to note - Guardians have thorns on them so you will take damage as you kill them. This will knock you back so make sure the fence gates are closed behind you. If you have mending on your armour the XP you get should outweigh the damage you take. If you only want to repair tools, take your armour off before killing the Guardians. Again you will take damage so watch your health and eat some food. You should be able to repair a tool or 2 before taking too much damage though. I'll try and get a beacon set up for health regen to help out but that will be some time away as wither skeleton skulls as a pain the ass to get.

Welcome Chloe, your bot status may have been previously exaggerated, I'm pleased to note. We get that a lot. You don't need super fast broadband for gaming, just reliability...unless your son is referring to download times. But there again, most gaming platforms in the UK cap the download speed at 10mps, so super fast broadband is redundant. I've sky fibre personally. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Lucky not all 8 year old children have access to credit cards. Unfortunately the drawback here is that a lot of people, while not 8 years old, have an 8 year old mentality and access to money. I like the idea of different coloured tunnels...it’s like the corridors in hospital being painted different colours to stop the old people getting lost!! 😂😂😂

Haha, I think everything should make sense as you do it .... I hope. I forgot to add, I started decorating one of the Nether tunnels but I don’t really like it as it is too grey. But I can’t come up with a design I like so feel free to change it or come up with a design in one of the other tunnels. The only thing bits that have to stay are the 2 block wide ice path and the stairs either side of it. I started building it out stone as we have a lot of it and it is easy to get more. Maybe we should build out of prismarine though as now we have a guadian farm we have unlimited amounts of it. Though I wonder if we should keep the nether tunnels nether themed - I dunno. Alternatively we have each cardinal direction tunnel be different.

Around 3 months. I did have a period where I hadn't touched it for a while, and I suspect the other half of this will also take me around 2-3 months. I'm going to try and crack on with the next half tomorrow and hopefully not have a break this time. I plan on doing many more smaller cross stitches as presents next Christmas, so I need all the time I can get 😂.

When we gonna keep this one up until Greebs? I can try and have some runs Sunday and Monday if it's still on. If not, happy to try and get involved on the next time trial. This combo is on until this Sunday (06/01) so you have some time to get a few laps in

Rich pretty much hit the nail on the head, I didn't mind ghosts for the 3 months I played it but I thank that game for making me buy into BF4 my favourite FPS game up to this point. Cod was a simple and enjoyable format that they fucked up with stupid design decisions and greed...as for battle royale I hate that mode even watching commentaries with it in the background bores me to death...battle royale just what a fast paced twitch shooter needed ...idiots

I've been looking at alternatives to Scuf recently due to the expense and how long they seem to last as I like having the paddles. This might just be the answer.

I haven’t noticed any input lag on anything. They work perfectly. I didn’t know you could get alternate paddles? I don’t mind the stock ones though.

Do you think theres any replayability in the game Justin once completed? No more than yes I replay when I want an easy game to relax to but if you know where everything is there really isn’t a sense of discovery plus I play the originals once in a great while but I always come back to it but I’m trying to look at it without the nostalgia glasses on but it’s hard not to

I've seen a handful of games at the Emirates over the years and it's a horrible experience. My first trip there was actually 10 years ago today with my mate to see them against Plymouth in the cup and the atmosphere was dead and we were surrounded by the prawn sandwich brigade. I went again a few months later to see them against Stoke in the Prem and it was even more quiet. I got whacked in the head with a handbag with some tart trying to locate her seat and if you remotely raised your voice, people looked round at you like you were talking too loud in a library! Ironically there's probably less legit home fans in there than there was squeezed into Highbury. A huge chunk is given away to sponsors and other community people whilst real fans get get tickets and when they do, they get ripped off. If Spurs don't price people out and can retain the classic Lane atmosphere, it will be amazing. However, even back at the old Lane tickets were bloody expensive - I paid £54 for a Bolton Ticket, £38 against Blackburn, £67 (i think) against Chelsea and Arsenal and £35 against Wigan and that was about a decade ago. Category C should be no more than £25-30, B £35-40 and A £45-50 but I bet the big games could be closer to £80-90. Wish ticket prices were capped for all teams but the more these prick players get paid, fans will continue to be paying close to £1 a minute.
